世界的に、高病原性鳥インフルエンザの発生は中国や欧州をはじめ、多くの国で繰り返されています。国内では、2017年11月に島根県の宍道湖周辺の野生水鳥でのH5N6亜型高病原性鳥インフルエンザウイルスの感染が確認され、2018年1月に東京都のオオタカでも感染が確認されました。同時期に香川県の養鶏場においてもH5N6亜型鳥インフルエンザウイルスによる発生が起きました。また、3月には兵庫県のハシブトガラスでH5N6亜型ウイルスの感染も確認されました。興味深いことに、野鳥で検出されたウイルスと養鶏場のウイルスは同じH5N6亜型ウイルスでしたが、由来が異なるウイルスであり、1シーズンに2種類のウイルスが国内に侵入したことになります。

H5N1亜型高病原性鳥インフルエンザウイルスから中国において新しく派生したH5N6亜型高病原性鳥インフルエンザウイルスは、2016年10月に韓国、11月には日本国内に侵入して過去に経験しなかった大きな損害を、両国の家きん及び水きん産業界に与えた。おびただしい数の渡り鳥をはじめとする野鳥にもウイルス感染が起きた。一方、2014–2015年にアジア、ヨーロッパ、北米大陸の産業界に大きな被害を与えたH5N8亜型高病原性鳥インフルエンザウイルスは2016年10月に再びヨーロッパに出現して、ヨーロッパ全土、中近東、南アジアのインド及び東アジアの韓国に広く拡散した。同じ時期に2種類の異なる高病原性鳥インフルエンザウイルスが地球規模に分布した。

様々なN亜型を有す、H5N1亜型高病原性鳥インフルエンザウイルスから派生した高病原性鳥インフルエンザウイルスが中国に出現して、N6あるいはN8亜型ウイルスは世界に拡散している。北アメリカ大陸に拡散したH5N8ウイルスは、別の亜型の鳥インフルエンザウイルスと遺伝子再集合を起こし、新たにH5N2が出現した。これらのウイルス感染はアメリカ大養鶏地帯において広がり、4,500万羽以上の家きんが死亡あるいは殺処分を受けるに至った。東アジアでも、日本の他に、韓国及び台湾の家きん産業界にH5N8ウイルスが侵入して莫大な被害を与え続けている。2015年11月以降、フランスにおいて複数のN亜型を持つH5高病原性及び低病原性鳥インフルエンザウイルスが出現して、同国の家きん産業界は大きな被害を被っている。H5ウイルスは、形を変えながら拡散を続けている。, Recently, several kinds of genetic reassortant derived from H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) virus appeared in China and few of them are spreading world-widely. In January 2014, outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza occurred in several poultry farms located western South Korea. Causative agent was H5N8 HPAI virus. By May 2014, H5N8 virus spread throughout the country. Incidence of this disaster in that country with this virus is still continuing. In the spring of 2014, H5N8 HPAI virus was carried to Siberia and/or northern China by migratory waterfowls, grew and spread among those fowls during summer of 2014 there. In autumn of 2014, the grown H5N8 viruses were carried from Siberia and/or northern China to the Far East including Japan and Taiwan, Europe and North America by migratory waterfowls.American poultry industry got a big serious damage by the H5N8 HPAI virus. Between November 2014 and May 2015, more than 45 million poultries were influenced and had to be culled. On the other hand, since autumn of 2015, several poultry farms in western France have been affected both highly and low pathogenic avian influenza. H subtype of the causative agent is 5 but N one is various. Origin of these viruses is unclear yet. 2014年1月に、H5N1亜型高病原性鳥インフルエンザウイルスに由来するH5N8鳥インフルエンザウイルスが、韓国のアヒル生産農家を中心に養鶏農家等に侵入して大きな被害を与えている。ウイルスの性状は、2010年中国江蘇省で分離されたH5N8鳥インフルエンザウイルスのそれと類似していた。同年4月、日本にもこのウイルスは侵入して、熊本県のブロイラー農場に被害を与えた。発生は1件で止まった。原因ウイルスは、中国から韓国に侵入し、さらに日本国内に入ったと思われる。近年、H5N1ウイルスから派生する様々なH5ウイルスが、中国を中心に出現している。, Recently, mutation and reassortment of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) virus have been appearing in China. In the beginning of January 2014, outbreaks of HPAI occurred in the South Korean domestic-duck industry. Subtype of causative influenza virus was H5N8 derived from H5N1 one; that disaster spread to almost whole country; and more than 12 million poultry reared in South Korea have been culled. In the middle of April 2014, an outbreak of HPAI occurred in a meat-type-chicken-rearing farm located in the mountains of Kumamoto prefecture and subtype of the causative agent was also H5N8. 中国政府は、2013年3月31日に以下の発表を行なった。最初に上海市で2名の重篤な肺炎の臨床症状を示した患者が見つかり、本年2月19日に入院してH7N9鳥インフルエンザウイルス感染によるものと診断された。発現した臨床症状は極めて重く、急性の肺炎を特徴とする。1名は3月17日に死亡した。その後、ヒトへの感染事例は拡散し、中国の主要な地域に発生が広がっている。特に、大都市を中心とした人口密集地での罹患者の発生が大部分である。目下のところ、ヒトからヒトへの明らかなウイルス伝達のあった事例は認められていない。本ウイルスは、鳥類に対して激烈な病原性を示していない。, Severe cases by avian influenza A (H7N9) virus infection in humans are continuing in eastern China since February 2013 and were characterised by rapidly progressive pneumonia, respiratory failure and fatal outcomes. In total more than 130 human cases are reported and 31 fatal.
