Purpose: To determine the effects of combined use of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and paroxetine hydrochloride tablets in patients with post-stroke depression (PSD), and its effect on scores on Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAMD) and Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale (SS-QOL). Methods: Clinical data for 96 patients with PSD who were treated in Dongying Traditional Chinese Hospital, Dongying City, China from June 2018 to June 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients who met the inclusion criteria were divided into treatment group (TG, n = 48) and reference group (RG, n = 48) based on odd and even hospitalization numbers. Both groups received conventional treatment, but RG patients were in addition given clopidogrel, while TG received CBT in combination with paroxetine hydrochloride tablets. Clinical indices were evaluated in both groups before and after treatment. Moreover, therapeutic effects in the two different treatment methods on PSD, as well as on Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAMD) and Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale (SS-QOL) scores were analyzed. Results: After treatment, TG had lower HAMD score (p < 0.001), lower scores on modified Rankin scale, and few incidences of adverse reactions at 3, 7, 15 and 30 days of treatment (p < 0.05), but higher total clinical effectiveness and mean SS-QOL score (p < 0.05), when compared with RG. Conclusion: Combined use of CBT and oral paroxetine hydrochloride tablets may be a promising strategy for treating depression and enhancing the quality of life of PSD patients, as it greatly improves neurological deficit and prognosis. However, further clinical trials should be carried out prior to introducing it in clinical practice.

This paper briefly introduces the background and achievements of the sponge city construction in Shenzhen, China, and summarizes the experience and lessons in the construction of sponge city and discusses the innovation achievements of the sponge city in Shenzhen, combining the policy documents and engineering cases. The organizational innovation mainly comprises the formation of leading teams of municipal and district sponge city construction work, establishment of sponge city construction technology alliance and setting up academician workstation; the management innovation includes the policy making and establishment of technology standards; and the technological innovation mainly discusses the innovation of sponge city facility and mixing soil. Considering the application scope of the sponge city facilities, this paper introduces the innovative sponge city facilities, which are suitable for building district, urban road, metro depot and urban renewal projects. The case studies include: ① sponge city facilities of the civil engineering experimental building in Shenzhen University; ② sponge city facilities on the Dengliang Road in Nanshan District; ③ sponge city facilities of the Changzhen Depot of Shenzhen Metro Line 6 in Guangming District; ④ sponge city facilities of comprehensive renovation project in Jiazitang Village, Guangming District.

To investigate the effect of long noncoding RNA ST8SIA6-AS1 on the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and angiogenesis of pituitary adenoma and its possible mechanism. The expression levels of ST8SIA6-AS1 and HOXA9 in noninvasive pituitary adenoma and invasive pituitary adenoma were detected using qRT-PCR. sh-ST8SIA6-AS1 transfection silenced the expression of ST8SIA6-AS1 in GH3 and GTI-1 cells. The effects of ST8SIA6-AS1 on the proliferation, invasion, angiogenesis, and EMT of GH3 and GTI-1 pituitary adenoma cells were detected. The migration ability of cells was detected through scratch assay. Dual luciferase analysis verified the targeting relationship between ST8SIA6-AS1 and miR-5195-3p. ST8SIA6-AS1 and HOXA9 were highly expressed in invasive pituitary adenoma. In pituitary adenomas, miR-5195-3p directly targeted HOXA9. miR-5195-3p is the target gene of ST8SIA6-AS1. ST8SIA6-AS1 knockdown inhibited the proliferation, invasion, angiogenesis, and EMT of pituitary adenoma. HOXA9 expression mediates the biological effect of ST8SIA6-AS1. ST8SIA6-AS1 targets miR-5195-3p to regulate the expression of HOXA9 and promote the EMT of pituitary adenomas.

This study is aimed at investigating the effect and mechanism of long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) KCNQ1OT1 on pituitary adenoma (PA). The KCNQ1OT1 expression in invasive and noninvasive PA tissues was detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR). The effects of KCNQ1OT1 on the proliferation of PA cells, namely, GH3 and HP75, were detected by CCK-8 experiment. The Transwell assay detected the effect of KCNQ1OT1 on the invasion of GH3 and HP75 cells. The effect of KCNQ1OT1 on the clonal formation ability was detected by clonal formation experiment. The double luciferase reporter assay and the miRNA pull down assay verified the binding of KCNQ1OT1 to miR-140-5p. Meanwhile, the regulatory effect of miR-140-5p on RAB11A was verified. qPCR results showed that KCNQ1OT1 was significantly increased in invasive PA compared with noninvasive PA tissues. Knockdown KCNQ1OT1 inhibited PA cell stemness, angiogenesis, and EMT. In addition, knockdown KCNQ1OT1 inhibited the proliferation, invasion, and clonal formation of PA. miR-140-5p is the target gene of KCNQ1OT1. miR-140-5p targets RAB11A directly. RAB11A can mediate the biological effects of KCNQ1OT1. Meanwhile, lncRNA KCNQ1OT1 can promote the EMT and cellular stemness of PA. Its mechanism of action is realized by inhibiting miR-140-5p. This result can provide a molecular basis for the further study of PA.

Under the assistance of 13C NMR and 1H-13C HSQC, we develop a novel 1H NMR assay for the substitution sites and degrees in hydroxypropyl chitosan (HPCS) by optimizing sample preparation and measurement method. We find that the chemical shift of HOD peak increases linearly with the increase of DCl concentration but declines with the rise of measurement temperature. According to the regression line, the HOD peak could be moved to a desired position of non-interference with other peaks by changing DCl concentration. Other DCl-responsive peaks are found and elucidated. Accordingly, the substitution fraction (NH2-substitution and OH-substitution) and the degree of acetylation are well discriminated and determined. The total molar degree of substitution (MS) obtained is basically consistent with those of elemental analysis and the existing NMR methods. This structural analysis is extendable to other amino-containing saccharides. The 1H NMR method could be used widely in acid-soluble polysaccharides and their derivatives.

This paper is aimed at assessing the fire retardancy and thermal stability of intumescent flame retardant (IFR) containing ammonium polyphosphate (APP), pentaerythritol (PER), and melamine (MEL). Zinc borate (ZB) was added at the loading of 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, and 12% by weight of IFR. The sizes of investigated ZB fall in 3 ranges: 1-2 μm, 2-5 μm, and 5-10 μm. The performance of APP/PER/MEL was investigated by using thermogravimetry analysis (TGA), cone calorimeter test, Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive spectrometry. The results obtained from the above experiments show that the incorporation of ZB can improve the fire protection performance. A 77% decrease in total smoke production and 84.6% decrease in total heat release were achieved for the addition of 2 wt% ZB (2-5 μm) in the IFR coating. TGA results indicate an increased amount of char residue. Compared to the control IFR coating, the char residue of IFR containing 2 wt% ZB (2-5 μm) has increased approximately 1.5-fold, 10-fold, and 25-fold, at 600°C, 700°C, and 800°C, respectively. The effective char formation results in excellent smoke suppression. Regarding smoke suppression performance, the order for smoke density is IFR/ZB (2-5 μm) μm) μm), regardless of investigated loading levels. The decline of smoke suppression performance for IFR/ZB (5-10 μm) and IFR/ZB (1-2 μm) is believed to be due to the poor char formation, as a result of a weak interaction of APP, PER, MEL, and ZB. This weak interaction is caused by the decrease in the specific surface area and agglomeration of ZB particles for IFR/ZB (5-10 μm) and IFR/ZB (1-2 μm), respectively.

Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease in adults, manifesting various clinical symptoms including autonomic nerve dysfunction, Parkinson’s syndrome, cerebellar ataxia, and pyramidal sign. The clinical diagnosis and classification of MSA are mainly dependent on motion and non-motion symptoms, such as autonomic nerve dysfunction. In addition, an increasing amount of clinical and pathological evidence has shown that about half of the MSA patients exhibit distinct types and levels of cognitive dysfunction. However, cognitive dysfunction has not been included in the current diagnosis criteria of MSA. In most cases, it was even used as an exclusion criterion of MSA. Based on the neuroimaging, neuropathology and neuropsychology, this review summarized the morphological changes of the brain in the patients with MSA, and discussed possible brain regions that could be associated with cognitive impairment. The article may provide a theoretical basis for incorporating cognitive dysfunction into the criteria of MSA diagnosis.

Based on annual runoff data collected from several hydrological stations in the Nen River Basin from 1956 to 2004, the cumulative filter method, Mann-Kendall method and Morlet wavelet analysis were used to analyze variations in the characteristics and factors influencing runoff. Specifically, the general characteristics list as: The distribution of runoff was found to be uneven within a year, and the annual variation showed an overall decreasing trend. The abrupt change points of runoff were found to be in the early 1960s, middle 1980s and late 1990s. Multiple time scales analysis revealed three time-scale cycles, a long-term cycle of about 20–35 years with a scale center of 25 years, another cycle of about 8–15 years with a scale center of 11 years and a short-term cycle of about 5 years. Based on the Morlet wavelet transform coefficients figure of the 25-year time scale, it is preliminarily estimated that the Nen River Basin will enter a high flow period in 2013. The results obtained using various methods were consistent with each other. The physical causes of the results were also analyzed to confirm their accuracy.

An artificial neural network, mid- to long-term runoff forecasting model of the Nenjiang basin was established by deciding predictors using the physical analysis method, combined with long-term hydrological and meteorological information. The forecasting model was gradually improved while considering physical factors, such as the main flood season and non-flood season by stage, runoff sources and hydrological processes. The average relative errors in the simulation tests of the prediction model were 0.33 in the main flood season and 0.26 in the non-flood season, indicating that the prediction accuracy during the non-flood season was greater than that in the main flood season. Based on these standards, forecasting accuracy evaluation was conducted by comparing forecasting results with actual conditions: for 2001 to 2003 data, the pass rate of forecasting in the main flood season was 50%, while it was 93% in the non-flood season; for 2001–2010, the respective values were 45% and 72%. In this study, the differences in annual rainstorm changes in the Second Songhua River Basin and the Nenjiang River basin and their causes were compared from the perspective of mountain effects. The following results were drawn: (1) Altitude effect is the primary factor leading to increased rainstorms in the southern source; (2) Slope effect primarily leads to differences of the weather systems in the two sources, and thus cause the difference of the rainstorms; (3) Slope effect is responsible for the greater fluctuation in the observed floods in the southern source. These landform differences eventually lead to the differences in the characteristics of floods in the southern and northern sources. Commensurability method was used to identify the period of rainstorms in the southern and northern sources. The results showed that although rainstorms do not appear at the same time in the two sources they are characteristic of a 10 years’ period in both areas. These results can serve as hydrological references for flood control and long-term flood disaster predictions.

Sensitivity analysis is a technique for quantitatively analyzing the variation in a dependent variable caused by each independent variable. In this study, a global sensitivity analysis method is proposed that is suitable and effective for multivariable and nonlinear systems. Specifically, sensitivity is defined before nonlinear multipolynomial expansion is conducted according to the Taylor midvalue theorem to intuitively determine nonlinear relationships between the rate of change in the dependent variable and each independent variable. A back-propagation network is also used to determine these relationships. The detailed computational steps and methods for evaluating the results are provided. The proposed method was tested using computer simulation and with an actual hydrological engineering problem.
