1. RainGaugeNet: CSI-Based Sub-6 GHz Rainfall Attenuation Measurement and Classification for ISAC Applications

Abstract

Rainfall impacts daily activities and can lead to severe hazards such as flooding. Traditional rainfall measurement systems often lack granularity or require extensive infrastructure. While the attenuation of electromagnetic waves due to rainfall is well-documented for frequencies above 10 GHz, sub-6 GHz bands are typically assumed to experience negligible effects. However, recent studies suggest measurable attenuation even at these lower frequencies. This study presents the first channel state information (CSI)-based measurement and analysis of rainfall attenuation at 2.8 GHz. The results confirm the presence of rain-induced attenuation at this frequency, although classification remains challenging. The attenuation follows a power-law decay model, with the rate of attenuation decreasing as rainfall intensity increases. Additionally, rainfall onset significantly increases the delay spread. Building on these insights, we propose RainGaugeNet, the first CSI-based rainfall classification model that leverages multipath and temporal features. Using only 20 seconds of CSI data, RainGaugeNet achieved over 90% classification accuracy in line-of-sight scenarios and over 85% in non-lineof-sight scenarios, significantly outperforming state-of-the-art methods.

2. RORem: Training a Robust Object Remover with Human-in-the-Loop

Abstract

Despite the significant advancements, existing object removal methods struggle with incomplete removal, incorrect content synthesis and blurry synthesized regions, resulting in low success rates. Such issues are mainly caused by the lack of high-quality paired training data, as well as the self-supervised training paradigm adopted in these methods, which forces the model to in-paint the masked regions, leading to ambiguity between synthesizing the masked objects and restoring the background. To address these issues, we propose a semi-supervised learning strategy with human-in-the-loop to create high-quality paired training data, aiming to train a Robust Object Remover (RORem). We first collect 60K training pairs from open-source datasets to train an initial object removal model for generating removal samples, and then utilize human feedback to select a set of high-quality object removal pairs, with which we train a discriminator to automate the following training data generation process. By iterating this process for several rounds, we finally obtain a substantial object removal dataset with over 200K pairs. Fine-tuning the pre-trained stable diffusion model with this dataset, we obtain our RORem, which demonstrates state-of-the-art object removal performance in terms of both reliability and image quality. Particularly, RORem improves the object removal success rate over previous methods by more than 18\%. The dataset, source code and trained model are available at https://github.com/leeruibin/RORem.

3. HUNYUANPROVER: A Scalable Data Synthesis Framework and Guided Tree Search for Automated Theorem Proving

Abstract

We introduce HunyuanProver, an language model finetuned from the Hunyuan 7B for interactive automatic theorem proving with LEAN4. To alleviate the data sparsity issue, we design a scalable framework to iterative synthesize data with low cost. Besides, guided tree search algorithms are designed to enable effective ``system 2 thinking`` of the prover. HunyuanProver achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performances on major benchmarks. Specifically, it achieves a pass of 68.4% on the miniF2F-test compared to 65.9%, the current SOTA results. It proves 4 IMO statements (imo_1960_p2, imo_1962_p2}, imo_1964_p2 and imo_1983_p6) in miniF2F-test. To benefit the community, we will open-source a dataset of 30k synthesized instances, where each instance contains the original question in natural language, the converted statement by autoformalization, and the proof by HunyuanProver.

4. The Advantage of Early Detection and Localization from Eccentricity-Induced Higher Harmonic Modes in Second-Generation Ground-Based Detector Networks

Abstract

Early detection and localization of gravitational waves (GWs) are crucial for identifying and capturing their electromagnetic (EM) counterparts, playing a significant role in multi-messenger astronomy. For second-generation (2G) detectors such as LIGO, Virgo, and KAGRA, the typical duration of GW signals ranges from $\mathcal{O}(0.1)$ seconds to several tens of seconds due to their optimal sensitivities only at higher frequencies. This limited duration is insufficient to provide adequate early warning and localization for potential GWs and their associated EM counterparts. In this paper, we investigate whether eccentricity-induced higher harmonic modes, which enter the detector band much earlier than the dominant mode, can aid early detection and localization of GW sources using the 2G ground-based detector network. We select two typical events, a GW170817-like BNS and a GW150914-like BBH, as illustrative examples. For a GW170817-like BNS, we find that the eccentric case with $e_0=0.4$ at 10 Hz can achieve an SNR of 4 and the threshold SNR of 8 approximately 12 minutes and 5 minutes before merger, representing 4.5- and 1.5-minute improvements in time-to-merger compared to the circular case, respectively. Additionally, with $e_0=0.4$, it can achieve a localization of $1000 \, (100)\, \rm deg^2$ at 5 (1) minutes before the merger, reflecting improvements of 2 minutes (15 seconds) compared to the circular case. For a typical GW150914-like BBH, due to the much shorter signal duration, the time-to-merger gained from higher modes for achieving the same SNR and localization is limited to $\mathcal{O}(0.1)-\mathcal{O}(1)$ seconds. 5. TrajGEOS: Trajectory Graph Enhanced Orientation-based Sequential Network for Mobility Prediction

Abstract

Human mobility studies how people move to access their needed resources and plays a significant role in urban planning and location-based services. As a paramount task of human mobility modeling, next location prediction is challenging because of the diversity of users' historical trajectories that gives rise to complex mobility patterns and various contexts. Deep sequential models have been widely used to predict the next location by leveraging the inherent sequentiality of trajectory data. However, they do not fully leverage the relationship between locations and fail to capture users' multi-level preferences. This work constructs a trajectory graph from users' historical traces and proposes a \textbf{Traj}ectory \textbf{G}raph \textbf{E}nhanced \textbf{O}rientation-based \textbf{S}equential network (TrajGEOS) for next-location prediction tasks. TrajGEOS introduces hierarchical graph convolution to capture location and user embeddings. Such embeddings consider not only the contextual feature of locations but also the relation between them, and serve as additional features in downstream modules. In addition, we design an orientation-based module to learn users' mid-term preferences from sequential modeling modules and their recent trajectories. Extensive experiments on three real-world LBSN datasets corroborate the value of graph and orientation-based modules and demonstrate that TrajGEOS outperforms the state-of-the-art methods on the next location prediction task.

Abstract

Driven by the vision of ubiquitous connectivity and wireless intelligence, the evolution of ultra-dense constellation-based satellite-integrated Internet is underway, now taking preliminary shape. Nevertheless, the entrenched institutional silos and limited, nonrenewable heterogeneous network resources leave current satellite systems struggling to accommodate the escalating demands of next-generation intelligent applications. In this context, the distributed satellite information networks (DSIN), exemplified by the cohesive clustered satellites system, have emerged as an innovative architecture, bridging information gaps across diverse satellite systems, such as communication, navigation, and remote sensing, and establishing a unified, open information network paradigm to support resilient space information services. This survey first provides a profound discussion about innovative network architectures of DSIN, encompassing distributed regenerative satellite network architecture, distributed satellite computing network architecture, and reconfigurable satellite formation flying, to enable flexible and scalable communication, computing and control. The DSIN faces challenges from network heterogeneity, unpredictable channel dynamics, sparse resources, and decentralized collaboration frameworks. To address these issues, a series of enabling technologies is identified, including channel modeling and estimation, cloud-native distributed MIMO cooperation, grant-free massive access, network routing, and the proper combination of all these diversity techniques. Furthermore, to heighten the overall resource efficiency, the cross-layer optimization techniques are further developed to meet upper-layer deterministic, adaptive and secure information services requirements. In addition, emerging research directions and new opportunities are highlighted on the way to achieving the DSIN vision.

Abstract

The inclusive cross sections of prompt $J/\psi$ and $\psi(3686)$ production are measured at center-of-mass energies from 3.808 to 4.951 GeV. The dataset used is 22 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ annihilation data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. The results obtained are in agreement with the previous BESIII measurements of exclusive $J/\psi$ and $\psi(3686)$ production. The average values obtained for the cross sections measured in the center-of-mass energy ranges from 4.527 to 4.951 GeV for $J/\psi$ and from 4.843 to 4.951 GeV for $\psi(3686)$, where the impact of known resonances is negligible, are $14.0\pm1.7\pm3.1$ pb and $15.3\pm3.0$ pb, respectively. For $J/\psi$, the first and the second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. For $\psi(3686)$, the uncertainty is total. 9. Reduced Network Cumulative Constraint Violation for Distributed Bandit Convex Optimization under Slater Condition

Abstract

This paper studies the distributed bandit convex optimization problem with time-varying inequality constraints, where the goal is to minimize network regret and cumulative constraint violation. To calculate network cumulative constraint violation, existing distributed bandit online algorithms solving this problem directly use the clipped constraint function to replace its original constraint function. However, the use of the clipping operation renders Slater condition (i.e, there exists a point that strictly satisfies the inequality constraints at all iterations) ineffective to achieve reduced network cumulative constraint violation. To tackle this challenge, we propose a new distributed bandit online primal-dual algorithm. If local loss functions are convex, we show that the proposed algorithm establishes sublinear network regret and cumulative constraint violation bounds. When Slater condition holds, the network cumulative constraint violation bound is reduced. In addition, if local loss functions are strongly convex, for the case where strongly convex parameters are unknown, the network regret bound is reduced. For the case where strongly convex parameters are known, the network regret and cumulative constraint violation bounds are further reduced. 10. Data Driven Automatic Electrical Machine Preliminary Design with Artificial Intelligence Expert Guidance

Abstract

This paper presents a data-driven electrical machine design (EMD) framework using wound-rotor synchronous generator (WRSG) as a design example. Unlike traditional preliminary EMD processes that heavily rely on expertise, this framework leverages an artificial-intelligence based expert database, to provide preliminary designs directly from user specifications. Initial data is generated using 2D finite element (FE) machine models by sweeping fundamental design variables including machine length and diameter, enabling scalable machine geometry with machine performance for each design is recorded. This data trains a Metamodel of Optimal Prognosis (MOP)-based surrogate model, which maps design variables to key performance indicators (KPIs). Once trained, guided by metaheuristic algorithms, the surrogate model can generate thousands of geometric scalable designs, covering a wide power range, forming an AI expert database to guide future preliminary design. The framework is validated with a 30kVA WRSG design case. A prebuilt WRSG database, covering power from 10 to 60kVA, is validated by FE simulation. Design No.1138 is selected from database and compared with conventional design. Results show No.1138 achieves a higher power density of 2.21 kVA/kg in just 5 seconds, compared to 2.02 kVA/kg obtained using traditional method, which take several days. The developed AI expert database also serves as a high-quality data source for further developing AI models for automatic electrical machine design.

Abstract

In this paper, we introduce Hunyuan-Large, which is currently the largest open-source Transformer-based mixture of experts model, with a total of 389 billion parameters and 52 billion activation parameters, capable of handling up to 256K tokens. We conduct a thorough evaluation of Hunyuan-Large's superior performance across various benchmarks including language understanding and generation, logical reasoning, mathematical problem-solving, coding, long-context, and aggregated tasks, where it outperforms LLama3.1-70B and exhibits comparable performance when compared to the significantly larger LLama3.1-405B model. Key practice of Hunyuan-Large include large-scale synthetic data that is orders larger than in previous literature, a mixed expert routing strategy, a key-value cache compression technique, and an expert-specific learning rate strategy. Additionally, we also investigate the scaling laws and learning rate schedule of mixture of experts models, providing valuable insights and guidances for future model development and optimization. 12. Investigating ChatGPT-4's Performance in Solving Physics Problems and Its Potential Implications for Education

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have been consistently influencing the progress of education for an extended period, with its impact becoming more significant especially after the launch of ChatGPT-3.5 at the end of November 2022. In the field of physics education, recent research regarding the performance of ChatGPT-3.5 in solving physics problems discovered that its problem-solving abilities were only at the level of novice students, insufficient to cause outstanding alarm in the field of physics education. However, the release of ChatGPT-4 presented substantial improvements in reasoning and conciseness. How does this translate to performance in solving physics problems, and what kind of impact might it have on education? This study undertakes a comprehensive assessment of ChatGPT-4's performance in solving physics problems from the perspective of physics conceptual understanding and reasoning, and compares its performance with that of students. It is concluded that ChatGPT-4's performance in solving physics problems has significantly improved compared to ChatGPT-3.5, and was notably superior to the majority of middle school and high school students. This finding presents both a challenge and an opportunity for physics education and the broader educational field, and triggers immediate considerations for coping with this challenge in future teaching and assessment environments.

13. Macrophage Dvl2 deficiency promotes NOD1-Driven pyroptosis and exacerbates inflammatory liver injury.

Abstract

Dishevelled 2 (Dvl2) is a key mediator of the Wingless/Wnt signaling pathway that regulates cell proliferation, migration, and immune function. However, little is known about the role of macrophage Dvl2 in modulating NOD1-mediated pyroptosis and hepatocyte death in oxidative stress-induced inflammatory liver injury. In a mouse model of oxidative stress-induced liver inflammation, mice with myeloid-specific Dvl2 knockout (Dvl2M-KO) displayed exacerbated ischemia/reperfusion (IR) stress-induced hepatocellular damage with increased serum ALT levels, oxidative stress, and proinflammatory mediators. Unlike in Dvl2FL/FL controls, Dvl2M-KO enhanced NOD1, caspase-1, GSDMD, and NF-κB activation in liver macrophages after IR. Interestingly, IR stress enhanced YAP colocalized with HSF1 in Dvl2FL/FL macrophages, while macrophage Dvl2 deficiency reduced YAP and HSF1 colocalization in the nucleus under inflammatory conditions. Importantly, Dvl2 deletion diminished nuclear YAP interacted with HSF1 and augmented NOD1/caspase-1 and GSDMD activation in response to inflammatory stimulation. However, Dvl2 activation increased YAP interaction with HSF1 and activated HSF1 target gene eEF2, inhibiting NOD1/caspase-1, GSDMD, and NF-κB activity. Moreover, macrophage eEF2 deletion increased the NOD1-caspase-1 interaction, GSDMD activation, HMGB1 release, and hepatocyte LDH release after macrophage/hepatocyte co-culture. Adoptive transfer of eEF2-expressing macrophages in Dvl2M-KO mice alleviated IR-triggered liver inflammation and hepatocellular damage. Therefore, macrophage Dvl2 deficiency promotes NOD1-mediated pyroptosis and exacerbates IR-induced hepatocellular death by disrupting the YAP-HSF1 axis. eEF2 is crucial for modulating NOD1-driven pyroptosis, inflammatory response, and hepatocyte death. Our findings underscore a novel role of macrophage Dvl2 in modulating liver inflammatory injury and imply the therapeutic potential in organ IRI and transplant recipients.

14. Efficient and Effective Retrieval of Dense-Sparse Hybrid Vectors using Graph-based Approximate Nearest Neighbor Search

Abstract

ANNS for embedded vector representations of texts is commonly used in information retrieval, with two important information representations being sparse and dense vectors. While it has been shown that combining these representations improves accuracy, the current method of conducting sparse and dense vector searches separately suffers from low scalability and high system complexity. Alternatively, building a unified index faces challenges with accuracy and efficiency. To address these issues, we propose a graph-based ANNS algorithm for dense-sparse hybrid vectors. Firstly, we propose a distribution alignment method to improve accuracy, which pre-samples dense and sparse vectors to analyze their distance distribution statistic, resulting in a 1%$\sim$9% increase in accuracy. Secondly, to improve efficiency, we design an adaptive two-stage computation strategy that initially computes dense distances only and later computes hybrid distances. Further, we prune the sparse vectors to speed up the calculation. Compared to naive implementation, we achieve $\sim2.1\times$ acceleration. Abstract

Deep learning models for NLP tasks are prone to variants of privacy attacks. To prevent privacy leakage, researchers have investigated word-level perturbations, relying on the formal guarantees of differential privacy (DP) in the embedding space. However, many existing approaches either achieve unsatisfactory performance in the high privacy regime when using the Laplacian or Gaussian mechanism, or resort to weaker relaxations of DP that are inferior to the canonical DP in terms of privacy strength. This raises the question of whether a new method for private word embedding can be designed to overcome these limitations. In this paper, we propose a novel private embedding method called the high dimensional truncated Laplacian mechanism. Specifically, we introduce a non-trivial extension of the truncated Laplacian mechanism, which was previously only investigated in one-dimensional space cases. Theoretically, we show that our method has a lower variance compared to the previous private word embedding methods. To further validate its effectiveness, we conduct comprehensive experiments on private embedding and downstream tasks using three datasets. Abstract

Using (2712.4 $\pm$ 14.3)$\times 10^{6}$ $\psi(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, a partial wave analysis of the decay $\psi(3686) \to \phi \eta \eta' $ is performed with the covariant tensor approach. An axial-vector state with a mass near 2.3 $\rm GeV/c^2$ is observed for the first time. Its mass and width are measured to be 2316 $\pm 9_{\mathrm{stat}} \pm 30_{\mathrm{syst}}\,\rm MeV/c^2$ and 89 $\pm 15_{\mathrm{stat}} \pm 26_{\mathrm{syst}}\,\rm MeV$, respectively. The product branching fractions of $\mathcal{B}(\psi(3686) \to X(2300) \eta') \mathcal{B}(X(2300)\to \phi \eta)$ and $\mathcal{B}(\psi(3686) \to X(2300) \eta)\mathcal{B}(X(2300)\to \phi \eta')$ are determined to be (4.8 $\pm 1.3_{\mathrm{stat}} \pm 0.7_{\mathrm{syst}})\times 10^{-6}$ and (2.2 $\pm 0.7_{\mathrm{stat}} \pm 0.7_{\mathrm{syst}})\times 10^{-6}$, respectively. The branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(\psi(3686) \to \phi \eta \eta')$ is measured for the first time to be (3.14$\pm0.17_{\mathrm{stat}}\pm0.24_{\mathrm{syst}})\times10^{-5}$. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic.

This comprehensive study evaluates the performance of OpenAI's o1-preview large language model across a diverse array of complex reasoning tasks, spanning multiple domains, including computer science, mathematics, natural sciences, medicine, linguistics, and social sciences. Through rigorous testing, o1-preview demonstrated remarkable capabilities, often achieving human-level or superior performance in areas ranging from coding challenges to scientific reasoning and from language processing to creative problem-solving. Abstract

The position-fluid antenna (PFA) architecture has become one of the appealing technologies to support ubiquitous connectivity demand in next-generation wireless systems. Specifically, allowing the antenna to adjust its physical position to one of the predefined ports within a fixed region can introduce additional spatial diversity and improve the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR). In addition, frequency diversity is also widely-explored through frequency interleaving in the terahertz (THz) band. However, the operating bandwidth of one antenna is usually limited to 10% of the central frequency, which imposes a waste of the ultra-broad bandwidth in the THz band. In light of this, a frequency-position-fluid antenna (FPFA) system is proposed in this paper to facilitate ultra-dense connectivity. Specifically, antennas with non-overlapping operating frequency ranges are deployed at the base station (BS) to expand the total available bandwidth and provide frequency domain diversity, while the PFA-enabled users are capable of providing the spatial domain diversity. The channel model is first derived, based on which a channel correlation-based frequency allocation strategy is proposed. Then, a minimum-projection-based port selection algorithm is developed with singular-value-decomposition (SVD) precoders. Simulation results show that the proposed FPFA architecture exhibits steady performance with an increasing number of users, and outperforms the PFA and the fixed-antenna system in ultra-dense user deployment.

Abstract

To take advantage of the exceptional properties of atomically thin transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDC) for advanced devices and catalysts, integration with metallic surfaces is an efficacious approach for facilitating charge carrier injection and extraction from TMDC monolayers. Light-matter interactions predominantly occur at the K point in TMDC monolayers, making the charge carrier dynamics at this point essential for their optimal performance. However, direct access to and comprehensive understanding of the charge carrier dynamics at the K point of TMDC monolayer on a metal substrate remains challenging. In this study, we employed azimuth- and polarization-dependent final-state sum frequency generation (FS-SFG) spectroscopy to investigate the ultrafast dynamics of charge transfer at the K point of a MoS$_2$ monolayer interfaced with an Au substrate. We observed an ultrafast injection (sub-20 fs) of photoexcited hot electrons from the Au substrate to the conduction band minimum (CBM) of the MoS$_2$ monolayer. Subsequently, driven by an internal electric field induced by charge redistribution, injected hot electrons in MoS$_2$ experience a relaxation and fast return ($\sim2$ ps) from the CBM and a trap state mediated slow return ($\sim60$ ps) process. The direct optical observation of the full electron dynamics at the K point of MoS$_2$ monolayer in ambient conditions provides valuable insights into the mechanisms of charge carrier transfer across the TMDC-metal interface, informing the design of advanced TMDC-based devices with enhanced charge transfer rates., Comment: 16 pages, 3 figures and supplemental material

21. cc-DRL: a Convex Combined Deep Reinforcement Learning Flight Control Design for a Morphing Quadrotor

Abstract

In comparison to common quadrotors, the shape change of morphing quadrotors endows it with a more better flight performance but also results in more complex flight dynamics. Generally, it is extremely difficult or even impossible for morphing quadrotors to establish an accurate mathematical model describing their complex flight dynamics. To figure out the issue of flight control design for morphing quadrotors, this paper resorts to a combination of model-free control techniques (e.g., deep reinforcement learning, DRL) and convex combination (CC) technique, and proposes a convex-combined-DRL (cc-DRL) flight control algorithm for position and attitude of a class of morphing quadrotors, where the shape change is realized by the length variation of four arm rods. In the proposed cc-DRL flight control algorithm, proximal policy optimization algorithm that is a model-free DRL algorithm is utilized to off-line train the corresponding optimal flight control laws for some selected representative arm length modes and hereby a cc-DRL flight control scheme is constructed by the convex combination technique. Finally, simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness and merit of the proposed flight control algorithm.

Abstract

The emergence of Large Language Models (LLMs) and multimodal foundation models (FMs) has generated heightened interest in their applications that integrate vision and language. This paper investigates the capabilities of ChatGPT-4V and Gemini Pro for Street View Imagery, Built Environment, and Interior by evaluating their performance across various tasks. The assessments include street furniture identification, pedestrian and car counts, and road width measurement in Street View Imagery; building function classification, building age analysis, building height analysis, and building structure classification in the Built Environment; and interior room classification, interior design style analysis, interior furniture counts, and interior length measurement in Interior. The results reveal proficiency in length measurement, style analysis, question answering, and basic image understanding, but highlight limitations in detailed recognition and counting tasks. While zero-shot learning shows potential, performance varies depending on the problem domains and image complexities. This study provides new insights into the strengths and weaknesses of multimodal foundation models for practical challenges in Street View Imagery, Built Environment, and Interior. Overall, the findings demonstrate foundational multimodal intelligence, emphasizing the potential of FMs to drive forward interdisciplinary applications at the intersection of computer vision and language.

Abstract

4H-SiC low gain avalanche detectors (LGADs) have been fabricated and characterized. The devices employ a circular mesa design with low-resistivity contacts and an SiO$_2$ passivation layer. The I-V and C-V characteristics of the 4H-SiC LGADs are compared with complementary 4H-SiC PiN diodes to confirm a high breakdown voltage and low leakage current. Both LGADs and PiN diodes were irradiated with $\alpha$ particles from a $^{210}_{84}\rm{Po}$ source. The charge collected by each device was compared, and it was observed that low-gain charge carrier multiplication is achieved in the 4H-SiC LGAD.

24. Factorized-Dreamer: Training A High-Quality Video Generator with Limited and Low-Quality Data

Abstract

Text-to-video (T2V) generation has gained significant attention due to its wide applications to video generation, editing, enhancement and translation, \etc. However, high-quality (HQ) video synthesis is extremely challenging because of the diverse and complex motions existed in real world. Most existing works struggle to address this problem by collecting large-scale HQ videos, which are inaccessible to the community. In this work, we show that publicly available limited and low-quality (LQ) data are sufficient to train a HQ video generator without recaptioning or finetuning. We factorize the whole T2V generation process into two steps: generating an image conditioned on a highly descriptive caption, and synthesizing the video conditioned on the generated image and a concise caption of motion details. Specifically, we present \emph{Factorized-Dreamer}, a factorized spatiotemporal framework with several critical designs for T2V generation, including an adapter to combine text and image embeddings, a pixel-aware cross attention module to capture pixel-level image information, a T5 text encoder to better understand motion description, and a PredictNet to supervise optical flows. We further present a noise schedule, which plays a key role in ensuring the quality and stability of video generation. Our model lowers the requirements in detailed captions and HQ videos, and can be directly trained on limited LQ datasets with noisy and brief captions such as WebVid-10M, largely alleviating the cost to collect large-scale HQ video-text pairs. Extensive experiments in a variety of T2V and image-to-video generation tasks demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed Factorized-Dreamer. Abstract

Several data compressors have been proposed in distributed optimization frameworks of network systems to reduce communication overhead in large-scale applications. In this paper, we demonstrate that effective information compression may occur over time or space during sequences of node communications in distributed algorithms, leading to the concept of spatio-temporal compressors. This abstraction classifies existing compressors as spatio-temporal compressors, with their effectiveness described by constructive stability criteria from nonlinear system theory. Subsequently, we apply these spatio-temporal compressors to standard continuous-time consensus flows and distributed prime-dual flows, establishing conditions ensuring convergence. Additionally, we introduce a novel observer-based distributed primal-dual continuous flow integrated with spatio-temporal compressors, which provides broader convergence conditions. These continuous flows achieve exponential convergence to the global optimum when the objective function is strongly convex and can be discretized using Euler approximations. 26. The Foxo1-YAP-Notch1 axis reprograms STING-mediated innate immunity in NASH progression.

Abstract

Innate immune activation is critical for initiating hepatic inflammation during nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) progression. However, the mechanisms by which immunoregulatory molecules recognize lipogenic, fibrotic, and inflammatory signals remain unclear. Here, we show that high-fat diet (HFD)-induced oxidative stress activates Foxo1, YAP, and Notch1 signaling in hepatic macrophages. Macrophage Foxo1 deficiency (Foxo1M-KO) ameliorated hepatic inflammation, steatosis, and fibrosis, with reduced STING, TBK1, and NF-κB activation in HFD-challenged livers. However, Foxo1 and YAP double knockout (Foxo1/YAPM-DKO) or Foxo1 and Notch1 double knockout (Foxo1/Notch1M-DKO) promoted STING function and exacerbated HFD-induced liver injury. Interestingly, Foxo1M-KO strongly reduced TGF-β1 release from palmitic acid (PA)- and oleic acid (OA)-stimulated Kupffer cells and decreased Col1α1, CCL2, and Timp1 expression but increased MMP1 expression in primary hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) after coculture with Kupffer cells. Notably, PA and OA challenge in Kupffer cells augmented LIMD1 and LATS1 colocalization and interaction, which induced YAP nuclear translocation. Foxo1M-KO activated PGC-1α and increased nuclear YAP activity, modulating mitochondrial biogenesis. Using chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) coupled with massively parallel sequencing (ChIP-Seq) and in situ RNA hybridization, we found that NICD colocalizes with YAP and targets Mb21d1 (cGAS), while YAP functions as a novel coactivator of the NICD, which is crucial for reprogramming STING function in NASH progression. These findings highlight the importance of the macrophage Foxo1-YAP-Notch1 axis as a key molecular regulator that controls lipid metabolism, inflammation, and innate immunity in NASH.

We propose a scheme to create monopoles with half-integer magnetic charges in a spinful cold atom system. With a minimal monopole in the center, we derive the ground-state single-vortex wave function on the sphere and develop the vortex's kinematic equation in the presence of an external electromagnetic field. The vortex's trajectory is generally depicted by the precession of the system. We further formulate the inter-vortex interaction and build up a theory of multi-vortex dynamics in high-charge monopole systems. We predict the vortices'trajectory in the bi-vortex system and figure out stable vortex (line) patterns in multi-vortex systems. This paper considers the distributed bandit convex optimization problem with time-varying inequality constraints over a network of agents, where the goal is to minimize network regret and cumulative constraint violation. Existing distributed online algorithms require that each agent broadcasts its decision to its neighbors at each iteration. To better utilize the limited communication resources, we propose a distributed event-triggered online primal--dual algorithm with two-point bandit feedback. Under several classes of appropriately chosen decreasing parameter sequences and non-increasing event-triggered threshold sequences, we establish dynamic network regret and network cumulative constraint violation bounds. These bounds are comparable to the results achieved by distributed event-triggered online algorithms with full-information feedback. Abstract

Transformer-based retrieval and reranking models for text document search are often refined through knowledge distillation together with contrastive learning. A tight distribution matching between the teacher and student models can be hard as over-calibration may degrade training effectiveness when a teacher does not perform well. This paper contrastively reweights KL divergence terms to prioritize the alignment between a student and a teacher model for proper separation of positive and negative documents. This paper analyzes and evaluates the proposed loss function on the MS MARCO and BEIR datasets to demonstrate its effectiveness in improving the relevance of tested student models.

Abstract

Layout generation is the keystone in achieving automated graphic design, requiring arranging the position and size of various multi-modal design elements in a visually pleasing and constraint-following manner. Previous approaches are either inefficient for large-scale applications or lack flexibility for varying design requirements. Our research introduces a unified framework for automated graphic layout generation, leveraging the multi-modal large language model (MLLM) to accommodate diverse design tasks. In contrast, our data-driven method employs structured text (JSON format) and visual instruction tuning to generate layouts under specific visual and textual constraints, including user-defined natural language specifications. We conducted extensive experiments and achieved state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance on public multi-modal layout generation benchmarks, demonstrating the effectiveness of our method. Moreover, recognizing existing datasets' limitations in capturing the complexity of real-world graphic designs, we propose two new datasets for much more challenging tasks (user-constrained generation and complicated poster), further validating our model's utility in real-life settings. Marking by its superior accessibility and adaptability, this approach further automates large-scale graphic design tasks. Finally, we develop an automated text-to-poster system that generates editable SVG posters based on users' design intentions, bridging the gap between layout generation and real-world graphic design applications. This system integrates our proposed layout generation method as the core component, demonstrating its effectiveness in practical scenarios. Abstract

Using a sample of $448.1 \times 10^6$ $\psi(2S)$ events collected with the BESIII detector, we perform a study of the decay $J/\psi\rightarrow K^+K^-$ via $\psi(2S)\rightarrow \pi^+\pi^-J/\psi$. The branching fraction of $J/\psi\rightarrow K^+K^-$ is determined to be $\mathcal{B}_{K^+K^-}=(3.072\pm 0.023({\rm stat.})\pm 0.050({\rm syst.}))\times 10^{-4}$, which is consistent with previous measurements but with significantly improved precision., Comment: to be submitted to PRD

Abstract

We present the first search for the leptonic decays $D^{*+}\to e^+\nu_e$ and $D^{*+}\to \mu^+\nu_\mu$ by analyzing a data sample of electron-positron collisions recorded with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32~fb$^{-1}$. No significant signal is observed. The upper limits on the branching fractions for $D^{*+}\to e^+\nu_e$ and $D^{*+}\to \mu^+\nu_\mu$ are set to be $1.1 \times 10^{-5}$ and $4.3 \times 10^{-6}$ at 90\% confidence level, respectively., Comment: 14 pages, 7 figures

Abstract

Using 9.0 $\rm fb^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at center-of-mass energies from 4.178 to 4.278 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we perform the first search for the radiative transition $\chi_{c1}(3872)\to\gamma \psi_2(3823)$. No $\chi_{c1}(3872)\to\gamma \psi_2(3823)$ signal is observed. The upper limit on the ratio of branching fractions $\mathcal{B}(\chi_{c1}(3872)\to\gamma \psi_2(3823), \psi_2(3823)\to\gamma\chi_{c1})/\mathcal{B}(\chi_{c1}(3872)\to\pi^+\pi^- J/\psi)$ is set as 0.075 at the 90\% confidence level. Our result contradicts theoretical predictions under the assumption that the $\chi_{c1}(3872)$ is the pure charmonium state $\chi_{c1}(2P)$., Comment: 8 pages, 2 figures

Abstract

Resonant states underlie a variety of metastructures that exhibit remarkable capabilities for effective control of acoustic waves at subwavelength scales. The development of metamaterials relies on the rigorous mode engineering providing the implementation of the desired properties. At the same time, the application of metamaterials is still limited as their building blocks are frequently characterized by complicated geometry and can't be tuned easily. In this work, we consider a simple system of coupled Helmholtz resonators and study their properties associated with the tuning of coupling strength and symmetry breaking. We numerically and experimentally demonstrate the excitation of quasi-bound state in the continuum in the resonators placed in a free space and in a rectangular cavity. It is also shown that tuning the intrinsic losses via introducing porous inserts can lead to spectral splitting or merging of quasi-\textit{bound states in the continuum} and occurrence of \textit{exceptional points}. The obtained results will open new opportunities for the development of simple and easy-tunable metastructures based on Helmholtz resonances.
