Flexible wireless pressure sensors based on the LC resonance principle have emerged for critical applications in wearable devices. However, the challenge remains to promote the sensing performance while maintaining good wearability of the devices. Herein, a 3D spiral liquid metal sensor (3D‐SLMS) is reported with a spinning top‐shaped structure for wireless human motion detection. The device is composed of only liquid metals embedded in Ecoflex elastomer, thus being highly flexible. The study develops a unique method to fabricate 3D‐SLMS by integration of mask‐assisted spraying of liquid metals and virtual molding tuned by vacuum. Under an external load, the deformation of the spinning top‐shaped structure leads to changes in both inductance and capacitance, offering a detectable shift in the resonant frequency of the sensor. The 3D‐SLMS technology allows for a high sensitivity of −0.502 MHz N−1, a limit of detection as low as 0.71 mN, fast response time of 0.6 s, and stretchability up to 158% without device failure. As a proof‐of‐concept, the wireless pressure detection of various human motions such as arm bending, fisting, boxing, coughing, and flatfoot diagnosis is successfully implemented, thus promising translation of wearable electronics for sport monitoring and medical rehabilitation. The 40 mm x 40 mm x 350 mm BaF2:5%Y (mole fraction) crystals were grown by vertical Bridgman method. The doping content, scintillation properties, optical properties and irradiation damage of crystal samples were studied. The Y3+ doping concentration (mole fraction) is 5. 1% ± 0. 9% within the range from 0 to 300 mm from seed end. The average light output of crystal sample is 2 100 ph / MeV, and the optimal energy resolution at 662 keV is 10. 1%. After 60Co source was used to irradiate the sample with an accumulated dose of 1 Mrad, the transmittance of the sample at 220 nm wavelength decreases from 87. 3% before irradiation to 83. 5%, the transmittance at 300 nm wavelength decreases from 91. 8% to 89. 9%. The anti-irradiation performance of BaF2:Y crystal is worse than that of BaF2 crystal. After the accumulative dose irradiation, the absorption of BaF2:Y crystal to 300 nm light is significantly enhanced. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Barium fluoride (BaF2) crystal is known as the fastest scintillation crystal, which has a wide application prospect in high energy physics, nuclear physics and nuclear medicine. It is very important to suppress the slow luminescence component of BaF2 crystal for its engineering application. BaF2 crystals with high Y3+ doping concentration 5%, 8%, 10% (mole fraction) were prepared by Bridgman method, and the co-doped BaF2 fast response scintillation crystals were prepared by codoping Y3+ with alkali metal ions (Li+, Na+) to form charge compensation to eliminate the generation of interstitial F-. Then, based on the optimized 5 ns and 2 500 ns time gate width measurement methods, the effects of Y3+ doping concentration and the co-doping concentration of Y3+ and alkali metal ions (Li+, Na+) on the fast/ slow component ratio of BaF2 scintillation crystal were studied. The results show that the optical quality of the high concentration Y3+ doped BaF2 crystals is excellent, and the transmittance at 220 nm and 300 nm is higher than 90% and 92%, respectively. With the increase of Y3+ doping concentration from 0 to 10%, the slow luminescence component of BaF2 crystal decrease significantly, and the fast/ slow component ratio increase from 0.15 to 1.21. The slow luminescence component of the grown Y3+ / Li+ and Y3+ / Na+ co-doped BaF2 crystals are further decrease compared with that of the Y3+ doped BaF2 crystals, and the highest fast/ slow component ratios obtained are 1.63 and 1.61, respectively. The co-doped BaF2 fast response scintillation crystal is expected to be applied in the frontier experiments of high energy physics and nuclear physics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) is an autoimmune disease with a broad range of cutaneous manifestations. In skin lesions of CLE, keratinocytes primarily undergo apoptosis. Interferon‐κ(IFN‐κ) is belonged to type I interferons (type I IFNs) and is selectively produced by keratinocytes. Recently, keratinocytes selectively produced IFN‐κ is identified to be a key to trigger type I interferon responses in CLE. Other immune cells such as plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) are identified to be relevant origin of type I interferons (type I IFNs) which are central to the development of CLE lesions and responsible for mediating Th1 cell activity. Other types of cells such as neutrophils, B cells and Th17 cells also are involved in the development of this disease. The close interaction of those cells composes a comprehensive and complicated network in CLE. In this review, we discussed the aberrant distribution and function of different cells types involved in this disease and will offer a new direction for research and therapy in the near future. The study aimed to assess the impact of changes in blood pressure on cardiovascular events in the Chinese population. It enrolled 33 179 Chinese participants aged ≥35 years (57.1% women) without CVD at baseline. BP status was defined according to the 2017 ACC/AHA hypertension guidelines. The type of BP change was defined as change in BP status from baseline to the end of follow‐up, included stable BP <130/80, <130/80 to ≥130/80, ≥130/80 to <130/80 mm Hg, persistent BP ≥130/80 mm Hg. The hazard ratio (HR) of incident CVD by change in BP category was estimated using Cox proportional hazards and Fine–Gray models. During median follow‐up of 3.17 years, 2023 CVD events occurred. Compared with BP <120/80, 120–129/<80 mm Hg at baseline (HR = 1.66, 95% CI: 1.09–2.53), 130–139/80–89 mm Hg (HR = 1.35, 95% CI: 0.94–1.95), and ≥140/90 mm Hg (HR = 2.46, 95% CI: 1.78–3.40) were risk factors for CVD. Compared with the group with stable BP <130/80 mm Hg, the risk of CVD was 1.88 (95% CI: 1.40–2.53) in the group with persistent BP ≥130/80 mm Hg and 1.40 (95% CI: 1.01–1.94) in the group of BP decreased to <130/80 mm Hg. These results showed that BP 120–129/<80, 130–139/80–89, and ≥140/90 mm Hg were associated with a high risk of CVD. Over time, persistent BP ≥130/80 mm Hg increased the risk of CVD, but a return to <130/80 mm Hg from hypertension decreased the risk of CVD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the public cloud, FPGA-based SmartNICs are widely deployed to accelerate network functions (NFs) for datacenter operators. We argue that with the trend of network as a service (NaaS) in the cloud is also meaningful to accelerate tenant NFs to meet performance requirements. However, in pursuit of high performance, existing work such as AccelNet is carefully designed to accelerate specific NFs for datacenter providers, which sacrifices the flexibility of rapidly deploying new NFs. For most tenants with limited hardware design ability, it is time-consuming to develop NFs from scratch due to the lack of a rapidly reconfigurable framework. In this paper, we present a reconfigurable network processing pipeline, i.e., DrawerPipe, which abstracts packet processing into multiple "drawers" connected by the same interface. NF developers can easily share existing modules with other NFs and simply load core application logic in the appropriate "drawer" to implement new NFs. Furthermore, we propose a programmable module indexing mechanism, namely PMI, which can connect "drawers" in any logical order, to perform distinct NFs for different tenants or flows. Finally, we implemented several highly reusable modules for low-level packet processing, and extended four example NFs (firewall, stateful firewall, load balancer, IDS) based on DrawerPipe. Our evaluation shows that DrawerPipe can easily offload customized packet processing to FPGA with high performance up to 100 Mpps and ultra-low latency (<10 µs). Moreover, DrawerPipe enables modular development of NFs, which is suitable for rapid deployment of NFs.
