B[e] type stars are characterised by strong emission lines, photometric $\&$ spectroscopic variabilities and unsteady mass-loss rates. MWC 137 is a galactic B[e] type star situated in the constellation Orion. Recent photometric observation of MWC 137 by TESS has revealed variabilities with a dominant period of 1.9 d. The origin of this variability is not known but suspected to be from stellar pulsation. To understand the nature and origin of this variability, we have constructed three different set of models of MWC 137 and performed non-adiabatic linear stability analysis. Several low order modes are found to be unstable in which models having mass in the range of 31 to 34 M$_{\odot}$ and 43 to 46 M$_{\odot}$ have period close to 1.9 d. The evolution of instabilities in the non-linear regime for model having solar chemical composition and mass of 45 M$_{\odot}$ leads to finite amplitude pulsation with a period of 1.9 d. Therefore in the present study we confirm that this variability in MWC 137 is due to pulsation. Evolutionary tracks passing through the location of MWC 137 in the HR diagram indicate that the star is either in post main sequence evolutionary phase or about to enter in this evolutionary phase., Comment: Accepted for publication in MNRAS, 10 pages with 12 figures

Luminous blue variables (LBVs) are evolved massive stars close to the Eddington limit, with a distinct spectroscopic and photometric variability having unsteady mass-loss rates. These stars show a considerable change in their surface temperature from quiescent to outbursts phase. The cause of irregular variability and unsteady mass-loss rate is not properly understood. Here we present the result of linear stability analysis in two LBVs AF And and R 127 during their quiescent and outburst phase. We note that several modes are unstable in the models of the considered LBVs. Mode interaction is frequent in the modal diagrams for the models of both LBVs. For AF And, number of instabilities increase in models having temperature below 15000 K. The found instabilities may be linked with the observed irregular variabilities and surface eruptions. In this work, we study the synthetic explosions of a massive star. We take a 100 M$_{\odot}$ zero--age main--sequence (ZAMS) star and evolve it until the onset of core-collapse using {\tt MESA}. Then, the resulting star model is exploded using the publicly available stellar explosion code, {\tt STELLA}. The outputs of {\tt STELLA} calculations provide us the bolometric light curve and photospheric velocity evolution along with other physical properties of the underlying supernova. In this paper, the effects of having large Hydrogen-envelope on the supernova light curve have been explored. For the B-type supergiant $\kappa$ Cassiopeiae (HD 2905) variabilities with periods between several hours and a few days have been observed both photometrically and spectroscopically. A recent study of this star by Sim\'on-D\'{\i}az et al. (2018) has revealed variability with a dominant period of 2.7 days. To understand this variability, we present a linear non-adiabatic stability analysis with respect to radial perturbations for models of $\kappa$ Cassiopeiae. Instabilities associated with the fundamental mode and the first overtone are identified for models with masses between 27 M$_{\odot}$ and 44 M$_{\odot}$. For selected models, the instabilities are followed into the non-linear regime by numerical simulations. As a result, finite amplitude pulsations with periods between 3 and 1.8 days are found. The model with a mass of 34.5 M$_{\odot}$ exhibits a pulsation period of 2.7 days consistent with the observations. Under the Nainital-Cape Survey, eight $\delta\,$Scuti type pulsators have been discovered with the pulsation periods in the range of several minutes to few hours. In order to understand these observed pulsational variabilities, we have performed non-adiabatic linear stability analyses in models of these stars having mass in the range of 1 to 3 M$_{\odot}$. Several low order p-modes are found to be unstable where the pulsation periods associated with these unstable modes are in good agreement with the observed periods. Variability and mass-loss are common phenomena in massive OB-type stars. It is argued that they are caused by violent strange mode instabilities identified in corresponding stellar models. We present a systematic linear stability analysis with respect to radial perturbations of massive OB-type stars with solar chemical composition and masses between 23 to 100 M$_{\odot}$. For selected unstable stellar models, we perform non-linear simulations of the evolution of the instabilities into the non-linear regime. Finite amplitude pulsations with periods in the range between hours and 100 days are found to be the final result of the instabilities. The pulsations are associated with a mean acoustic luminosity which can be the origin of a pulsationally driven wind. Corresponding mass-loss rates lie in the range between 10$^{-9}$ and 10$^{-4}$ M$_{\odot}$ yr$^{-1}$ and may thus affect the evolution of massive stars., Comment: 17 pages, 25 figures, Published in MNRAS

A linear stability analysis of models for evolved primordial stars with masses between 150 and 250 M$_{\odot}$ is presented. Strange mode instabilities with growth rates in the dynamical range are identified for stellar models with effective temperatures below log T$_{\rm{eff}}$ = 4.5. For selected models the final fate of the instabilities is determined by numerical simulation of their evolution into the non-linear regime. As a result, the instabilities lead to finite amplitude pulsations. Associated with them are acoustic energy fluxes capable of driving stellar winds with mass-loss rates in the range between 7.7 $\times$ 10$^{-7}$ and 3.5 $\times$ 10$^{-4}$ M$_{\odot}$ yr$^{-1}$., Comment: 11 pages, 14 figures, 1 table, Accepted for publication in MNRAS
