The article presents the results of pathophysiological and pathomorphological evaluation of effectiveness of pharmacotherapy in experimental dyslipidemia. Dyslipidemia was induced in rats by prescribing the atherogenic diet for 12 weeks. Pharmacotherapeutic effectiveness of the complex plant remedy based on Tibetan medicine was studied. The tested remedy in the form of decoction was introduced intragastrically in the dose of 1 mL per 100 g of weight once a day during the whole period of the experiment. The control group received the distilled water according to the same scheme. It is established that atherogenic dyslipidemia was accompanied by structural changes in all membranes of aorta in the form of edema, leukocyte infiltration and desquamation of endothelial cells. Morphometric parameters of aorta were characterized by increasing thickness of t. adventitia, the total width of t. intima and t. media, as well as the total thickness of aortic wall. In the blood of animals the level of circulating endothelial cells increased by 2,17 times, platelet aggregation increased by 17,6 % on average. The prescription of phytoremedy reduced the severity of pathomorphological and morphometrical changes in aorta, decreased the content of circulating endothelial cells in blood by 38 %, inhibited platelet aggregation by 30 % on average.

The present work reviews the evolution of the traditional medicine in Buryatia; the contribution of Oriental medical schools and the Russian experience of herbal treatment were emphasized. This convergence process was developed in virtue of the geopolitical situation of the Republic. The evolution of the tradition and contribution of ethnic medical schools was schematically presented in the article. The aim of the work was to substantiate the originality of the Buryat traditional medicine. The data elucidating the pervasion of Eastern traditions due to the influence of Buddhism and the experience of the Russian settlers are given in the article. Peculiarity of the traditional medicine in this region involves the use of indigenous plants, original formularies and healing technologies. Approach to health and illness, principles of diagnostics and specific methods of treatment remain common to Eastern medical traditions. The article provides insight into the main findings of the study of this tradition. They include such aspects as the translation of written sources, development of new technologies and methods for the treatment and prevention of some diseases, new medicinal preparations and health-improving means recommended for practical use. Besides, there have been discussed the prospects for integration of rational methods and means from the array of the traditional medicine of Buryatia with modern medical and pharmaceutical technologies.

This article present the evaluation of polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride hydrogel influence on the course of wound healing processes. Synthesis of hydrogel is based on the interaction of amino-end groups of the polymer with carbonyl compounds. The presence of significant biocidal properties of the gel-forming polymer is allowed to consider the hydrogel as a wound healing agent. Since most wound healing agents for external use are made in the form of gels, ointments, polymer-based, it was decided to use the wound healing agent "Levomekol", a gel which consists of poly (ethylene oxide) as a comparison drug. So, in terms of linear skin-muscle wound we established the pronounced wound-healing effect of a polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride hydrogel. The results of pathomorphological studies revealed that in animals of the experimental "hydrogel" group on the eighth day of the experiment, the wound was undergoing a process of rejection of the scab, the presence of mature granulation tissue and no exudate was also observed. In the comparison group, the healing process was more slow, on the eighth day of the experiment in the animal group we observed the presence of fluid under the eschar, and lower amount of mature granulation tissue. Tensiometry of the scar has shown that the strength of scar rupture in the "hydrogel" group requires 65 % more force compared to the control group, while in the group of comparison this parameter made only 48 %.

The influence of the plant composition on the functional state of rat hepatic mitochondria and biochemical indices of energy metabolism was studied. Experiments were carried out on 42 white Wistar rats. The application of the plant composition increases contingency between oxidation and phosphorylation, as well as coefficients of respiratory stimulation and respiratory control by 17 % (р < 0.05) and 15 % (р < 0.05) respectively as compared to the control group. The tested herbal medicine increases the ATP content by 29 % (р < 0.05) and improves the activity of pyruvate kinase and H+-ATPase by 1.9 and 1.2 times respectively which indicates a partial restoration of energy metabolism in hepatocytes. The results of the research allow us to recommend the plant compositionfor its further study as a potential prospective hypolipidemic remedy for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

To study the probable negative influence of the complex remedy "Tireoton" on the reproductive function of the laboratory animals the following tests have been carried out, namely the probable occurrence of embryo-toxicity, teratogenicity, foetotoxicity and its influence on the postnatal development of the laboratory animals progeny. The experiments have been carried out of the white Wistar rats. It has been established that the "Tireoton" at the doses of 75 and 750 mg/kg has no embryotoxic, teratogenic and fetotoxical effect. The introduction of the "Tireoton" at the dose of 750 mg/kg since 6th to 19th day of pregnancy does not influence on the postnatal development of white rats progeny.

The experiments were carried out on white Wistar rats. The probable embryotoxic, teratogenic and fetotoxical influences of the plant remedy "Pancreophyt" at the doses of300 (1/10 DL50) and 600 mg/kg (1/5 DL50) were studied. The findings have shown that all indices of embryo lethality (the number of implantation sites, the number of alive fetus and the number of resorptions) in female white rats treated with the "Pancreophyt" do not differ significantly from the indices of the control group. The mass and craniocaudal dimensions of the fetus in the experimental group corresponded to the indices in the control group. In the second set of experiments the influence of the "Pancreophyt" (300 mg/kg) on the postnatal development of white rat offspring was studied. It was revealed that the death of infant rats was noted only on the 1st day of observation and was 4,7%; the liveweight gain and linear size of infant rats do not differ from the indices of those in the control group.

The problem of preventing the development of metabolic disorders in the early postanesthesia period is relevant in modern anesthesiology and pharmacology. This article is devoted to pharmacological correction of energy metabolism in the liver and brain of white rats by phytoremedy «Polynoophyt» in the early postanesthesia period after application of sodium thiopental. The experiments were performed on 33 white Wistar rats. The content ATP as the main macroergic component and energy-supply metabolites (lactate and pyruvate) was determined. It shown that the course administration of «Polynoophyt» resulted to rising of ATP content in the liver and brain at 68% (p < 0,05) and 54% (p < 0,05) compared with the control, respectively. Furthermore, the ratio of lactate/pyruvate decreased indicating the normalization of the intensity of glycolytic and oxidative transformation of carbohydrates into the liver and brain. It should be emphasized that the phytoremedy «Polynoophyt» reduced the concentration of lactate in the liver and brain in 2,5 and 1,6 times respectively. The pyruvate content in brain increased at 45% (p < 0,05) accelerating the ATP resynthesis. The effect of energy-supply improvement was caused by the presence of a complex of biologically active substances (flavonoids, tannins, polysaccharides etc.) providing a wide range of pharmacological actions.

The experiments were carried out on white Wistar rats. The dry extract from Rhaponticum uniflorum L. roots was administered to the animals at the doses of 200 and 300 mg/kg for 7 days before testing. The behavior of animals was observed with the use of the tests "elevated plus maze" (EPM) and "dark/ light chamber". Under the influence of the extract from Rhaponticum uniflorum L. at the doses of 100, 150 and 250 mg/kg the number of entries into the open branch of EPM rises to 2,0-3,0 times and staying period in them rises 3,1-4,1 times in comparison with the control. The test "dark/light chamber" has shown that the number of entries of the experimental animals into the light bay of the "dark/light chamber" and the period of staying in it is 2,0 times increased.

The studies were carried out on white Wistar rats. The dry extract from Serratula centauroides L. was introduced to the animals at the doses of 50,100, and 150 mg/kg for 7 days prior to the testing. The nootropic effect of S. centauroides was estimated by using the test "conditioned passive avoidance reflex". In the groups of animals treated with the S. centauroides extract the number of animals with retained reflex was more than in the control group and the latent period of input into the dark bay of the device was longer than in the animals of the control group. The anticonvulsive activity of the S. centauroides extract was tested on the model of thiosemicarbazide-induced convulsions (30 mg/kg). It has been shown that the S. centauroides extract at the doses of 50-150 mg/kg prolongs the latent period of convulsion onset by 33% and increases the lifespan of the animals by 31-47% on the background of thiosemicarbazide-induced convulsions.

Pharmacotherapeutic efficiency of the dry extract from Lomatogonium carinthiacum in toxic hepatitis was studied. Experimental hepatitis was caused by the introduction of tetracycline hydrochloride to Wistar white rats in the dose of 1.0 g/kg of the animal weight once a day for 7 days. The extract from L. carinthiacum was administered per os in the dose of 100 mg/kg for 26 days. 1t has been established that the extract from L. carinthiacum has a marked hepatoprotective effect in the case of tetracycline hepatitis in white rats that is characterized by inhibition of the disturbances in choleretic and cholate-synthetic functions of the liver: the increase of bile secretion rate, preservation of cholate concentration in the bile, the decrease in the content of cholesterol triacylglycerides and alkaline phosphatase activity in the animal blood serum during the whole period of experiments. The tested remedy diminishes dystrophic and necrotic processes in hepatocytes, decreases the intensity of inflammatory infiltration in the liver and stimulates regeneration of liver cells in tetracycline hepatitis. The decrease of MDA content in the liver homogenate and increase in catalase activity against the same indices in control animals testify the marked antioxidant effect of L. carinthiacum.
