OBJECTIVE: To explore the feasibility, safety and mid-term outcome of minimally invasive cardiac surgery coronary artery bypass grafting (MICS CABG) surgery. METHODS: Data of patients who underwent MICS CABG between November 2015 and November 2017 in Peking University Third Hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Results were compared with the patients who underwent off-pump coronary aortic bypass grafting (OPCABG) surgery over the same period. The two groups were matched in propensity score matching method according to age, gender, left ventricular ejection fraction, body mass index, severity of coronary artery disease, smoking, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, renal insufficiency, history of cerebrovascular accident, and history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). RESULTS: There were 85 patients in MICS CABG group, including 68 males (80.0%) and 17 females (20%), with an average age of (63.8±8.7) years; 451 patients were enrolled in OPCABG group, and 85 patients were matched by propensity score as control group (OPCABG group). There was no significant difference in general clinical characteristics (P>0.05). The average grafts of MICS CABG and OPCABG were 2.35±0.83 and 2.48±0.72 respectively (P=0.284). No conversion to thoracotomy in MICS CABG group or cardiopulmonary bypass in neither group occurred. There was no significant difference in the major adverse cardiovascular events (MACCEs, 1.17% vs. 3.52%), reoperation (2.34 vs. 3.52%), new-onset atrial fibrillation rate (4.70% vs. 3.52%) or new-onset renal insufficiency rate (1.17% vs. 0%) between MICS CABG group and OPCABG group (P>0.05). The operation time in MICS CABG group was longer than that in OPCABG group [(282.8±55.8) min vs. (246.8±56.9) min, P < 0.05], while the time of ventilator supporting(16.9 h vs. 29.6 h), hospitalization in ICU [(29.3±20.8) h vs. (51.5±48.3) h] and total hospitalization [(18.3±3.2) d vs. (25.7±4.2) d] in MICS CABG group were shorter than those in OPCABG group (P < 0.05). The total patency rate (A+B levels) of MICS CABG was 96.5% after surgery. There was no significant difference in MACCEs rate between the two groups [1.18%(1/85) vs. 3.61%(3/83), P>0.05] in 1-year follow up. CONCLUSION: The MICS CABG surgery is a safe and feasible procedure with good clinical results in early and mid-term follow-up.

To compare the safety and effectiveness of two minimally invasive approaches for multi-vessel coronary revascularization.From August 2014 to February 2017, 70 consecutive patients who underwent minimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafting in Peking University Third Hospital were randomly divided into two groups. In one group, 40 patients underwent staged-hybrid coronary revascularization (staged-HCR) treatment; in the other group, 30 patients underwent minimally invasive total arterial revascularization with bilateral internal thoracic artery (BITA). In staged -HCR group, the patients underwent minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass grafting (MIDCAB) and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedure for treatment of multi-vessel disease. In BITA group, the patients underwent total arterial coronary artery bypass grafting with composite "Y" BITA graft. Preoperative and postoperative data of the two groups, including postoperative blood usage, mechanical ventilation time, domiciling duration in intensive care unit (ICU), major adverse cerebral and cardiovascular event (MACCE), and postoperative coronary angiography results were compared, in order to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of these surgical approaches.The preoperative characteristics of 70 patients in the two groups showed no significant difference. All the patients underwent successfully, elective minimally invasive multi-vessel coronary artery bypass grafting as scheduled preoperatively. Postoperative result showed the patients in staged-HCR group took advantages in less postoperative mechanical ventilation time [Staged-HCR group (11.2±8.7) h vs. BITA group (18.3±9.1) h, P=0.013], shorter domiciling duration in ICU [Staged-HCR group (26.29±4.05) h vs. BITA group (44.74±28.75) h, P=0.022], and less total drainage [Staged-HCR group (695.57±250.46) mL vs. BITA group (1 103.26±547.44) mL, P=0.03] than the patients in the group of minimally invasive total arterial revascularization with BITA. Postoperative in hospital coronary angiography showed satisfactory graft patency rates in both groups [97.5% in Staged-HCR group vs. 97.8% in BITA group]. No MACCE occurred in both groups during hospitalization.Staged-HCR is a feasible method for the treatment of multi-vessel revascularization involving right coronary artery. Minimally coronary revascularization with BITA is associated with superior long-term graft patency and it's recommended for patients who could not tolerate dual-antiplatelet therapy. This study shows that both minimally invasive surgical approaches are safe and effective for treatment of patients with multi-vessel coronary artery disease.

The aim of the present study was to identify the clinical significance of BPTF expression in the development and progression of NSCLC.The expression of BPTF in 189 pairs of NSCLC and adjacent normal lung tissues were detected by Real-time PCR. The expression of BPTF was investigated in NSCLC and normal control tissues by immunohistochemical staining and immunofluorescence staining. Then, we analyzed the potential relationship between BPTF levels in tumor tissues and existing clinicopathological features of NSCLC, and clinical outcome.It was found that BPTF mRNA was significantly overexpressed in NSCLC tissues in comparison with paired normal control tissues (p0.01). Consistent with BPTF mRNA expression, up-expression of BPTF protein was also found in NSCLC tissues. Furthermore, BPTF expression was positively correlated with advanced lymph node metastasis (p = 0.002), clinical stage (p = 0.004), and differentiation (p = 0.014). Moreover, patients with high BPTF expression had significantly poorer survival by Kaplan-Meier method (p0.001). Finally, Cox regression analyses showed that high BPTF expression might be an independent prognostic parameter to predict poor prognosis (p0.05).BPTF is important in predicting patient outcomes and is a potential target for the development of therapeutic approaches to NSCLC.

A series of substituted phenylpyrazole[4,5-b]oleanane derivatives have been synthesized and biologically evaluated as inhibitors of glycogen phosphorylase (GP). The structure of phenylpyrazole moiety in compound 17 was determined by ROESY. All of the synthesized oleanane derivatives were biologically evaluated against rabbit muscle GPa. Within this series of compounds, pyrazole triterpene 7 (IC(50) = 10.8 μM) exhibited slightly more potent activity than its parent compound 1. Preliminary SAR analysis of the pyrazoleoleanane derivatives as GP inhibitors is discussed.

Pathological changes of pancreas in 22 cases died of intoxication were studied and the mechanism was discussed. The results showed that: in death cases by eating of toxicants, the hemorrhage and necrosis of pancreas is extensive mainly in caput and corpus, while inhaling of carbon monoxide is focal in corpus and cauda.

To observe ultrastructure changes of electrical injury in rats.An experimental model of rats suffered from the low voltage were designed. Ultrastructure changes of electrical injured tissues were observed under transmission electron microscope.(1) Plasma of epithelium was concreted in the affected areas and inner membrane system was broken. (2) Hypercontraction bands were observed in skeleton muscles. (3) There was dissolved necrosis and hypercontraction bands in the myocardium. (4) Vacuoles were found in plasma of endothelium of blood vessels on electrical current path, and myelin sheath of nerve fiber were loosed.The above mentioned ultrastructure changes could be used as assistant diagnostic index of electrocution. The mechanism of the changes were discussed.

Gold films prepared by neutral gold cluster deposition on the HF‐treated Si(111) surface in a static argon atmosphere of 50 Pa have been characterized by scanning tunneling microscope in air at room temperature. Our studies demonstrate that the gold film is just the stacking up of clusters formed in the static argon atmosphere and shows dense random packing formation of clusters. The structure of the gold cluster‐based nanophase film is very compact and stable.

This study revealed correlations between DNA fingerprints (DFPs) and slaughter traits of SR92A male x Xiaoshan female hybrids with EAV (endogenous avian retroviral element) as the probe. In the DFP patterns, the band J with molecular weight of about 4 kilobasepairs correlated significantly with alive weight, dressing weight, semi-eviscerated weight, talon weight, breast muscle weight, head weight and thigh weight. The mean alive weight, dressing weight, semi-eviscerated weight and breast muscle weight are 280 g (28.57%), 225 g (28.87%), 216 g (28.76%) and 16.71 g (54.00%) higher respectively in individuals without band J than in those with band J. With the following formula: delta W = (XJ(-) - XJ+) x N x FJ+, it was estimated that an addition of 165.2 kilograms of alive weight can be achieved in a hybrid population with size of 1,000 chickens established by selecting parents without band J.
