Coronary artery disease is one of the most common causes of death in the world. The outcome of patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction is influenced by many factors, and the time elapsed from symptom onset to diagnosis and reperfusion have a critical role in this regard.

BACKGROUND: Sarcopenia and frailty may develop at varying rates depending on the metabolic, structural, and functional changes in the muscle structure after stroke. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the prevalence of sarcopenia and frailty in patients with stroke and affecting clinical parameters. METHODS: This was a cross-sectional and analytical study. Twenty-six (49.1%) women and 27 men (50.9%) with stroke with an average age of 60.2 ± 10.3 (median = 62) years were included in the study. To evaluate physical performance, balance, and mobility, we used the 4-meter walk test (4-MWT), timed up and go test, chair sit and stand test, and the Berg Balance Scale (BBS). Sarcopenia was diagnosed according to the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia 2019 criteria. The SARC-F scale was used for sarcopenia. RESULTS: The average stroke duration was 21.6 ± 18.2 months. Prefrailty was present in 14 (26.4%) patients, frailty was present in 34 (64.2%) patients, and two (3.8%) patients were normal. Sarcopenia was detected in 28 (52.8%) patients. According to handgrip strength, the prevalence of low muscle strength was 17% (n = 9). In the sarcopenic group, female sex (p = 0.005) was more frequent, 4-MWT was longer (p = 0.003), chair stand test results were lower (p < 0.001), the clinical frailty scale (CFS) was higher (p < 0.001), fall risk was higher compared with the BBS (p < 0.001), there was lower HG strength (p = 0.009), lower malnutrition scores (PNI, prognostic nutritional index, p < 0.001), and lower lymphocyte counts (p = 0.037). EAT-10 scores and dysphagia presence (p = 0.026), the presence of malnutrition (p < 0.021) and Nottingham Health Profile score (p < 0.001) were higher in the sarcopenic group. CONCLUSION: Sarcopenia and frailty frequently develop in patients with chronic stroke, with low lymphocyte counts, physical performance, muscle strength, and mobility and balance scores, and it is associated with poor prognostic factors including high disease severity, dysphagia, malnutrition, risk of falling, and poor quality of life. Aim of the study: Ultrasonographic examination of intraosseous jaw pathologies may reveal interesting incidental, mobile hyperechoic particles (“snowflakes”) in anechoic areas. Purpose of this study is to explain and discuss this snowing-like ultrasonographic feature of intraosseous jaw pathologies. Material and methods: This study included 113 patients admitted to our clinic for examination: 43 (38.05%) males and 70 (61.9%) females with a mean age of 34.9 ± 17.2 years (range: 6–72 years). A total of 120 intraosseous lesions were evaluated prior to surgery using ultrasonography; these included non-neoplastic, odontogenic, and non-odontogenic lesions. Results: In total, 5 (4.1%) of the 120 lesions exhibited snowing-like feature on ultrasonography, including 2 (1.6% of total) of 3 incisive canal cysts, 2 (1.6% of total) of 7 dentigerous cysts, and 1 (0.8% of total) of 19 odontogenic keratocysts. Conclusions: Snowflakes evident on ultrasonography of intraosseous jaw lesions may be specific to certain pathologies. Future studies correlating radiologic and pathologic features of intraosseous jaw lesions should focus on ultrasonographic snowing-like appearance in different types of lesions and explore why they occur.

High-grade intracoronary thrombus (ICT) burden leads to greater myocardial injury following anterior myocardial infarction (MI). The modified Glasgow prohgnostic score (mGPS) is a novel immune-inflammatory index, calculated by using C-reactive protein (CRP) and albumin levels, was shown to have prognostic value in heart diseases. The present study investigated the role of mGPS in predicting high grade ICT in patients with acute anterior MI admitted between February 2017 and March 2020. Blood samples were obtained at admission and mGPS was calculated. The ICT burden was evaluated visually from angiographic images. Patients were divided into 2 groups according to the ICT burden as high and low. A total of 1132 patients were enrolled: a mean age 61 ± 12.4 years and 370 males (32.7%). Serum albumin was lower, whereas mGPS and CRP were higher in high grade ICT group. CRP (odds ratio (OR): 1.404 95% CI: 1.312–1.502; P <.001), albumin (OR:.486; 95% CI:.301–.782 P <.001), and mGPS (0 vs ≥ 1) (OR: 7.391; 95% CI: 3.910–13.972; P <.001) were independent predictors of high-grade ICT burden in the left anterior descending coronary artery. This study empirically examines the effectiveness of the solar chimney power plants (SCPP), which is an innovative method for the use of solar energy, in the middle latitude region (37.88° N) in the northern hemisphere. Experimental measurement parameters of temperature, velocity, and radiation obtained from four cardinal directions (north, south, east, and west) and from 26 different locations were recorded throughout the day (08:00 am-07:30 pm). These measurements were used to calculate and estimate the power values used to measure the energy efficiency of the solar chimney. In the study, the genetic programming method was used to estimate the power value. In the five different forecast models developed, 15 different parameters were used diagonally. The obtained power estimation equations were cross-checked using statistical methods. Determination coefficient value is higher than >0.90 in all equations and is close to the ideal. In the comparison of all statistical models, the Global Performance Indicator (GPI) was used, with the best result obtained from Model 2. The results of this model are MAPE:6.5233, MBE: −0.0124, RMSE:1.1036 ve t-stat:0.0374, which is quite close to zero. In addition, the power values obtained from both the calculated and developed models were dimensioned and compared over the power-time factor of eight different studies in the literature. The mean relative error value nof the values calculated as a result of this comparison varies between 2.3% and 21.3%. This study provides a model for the different geometries of solar chimney prototypes and provides an example for measuring the design and performance of solar chimney systems to be installed in the middle latitudes and in regions with "Csa" climate characteristics, and is recommended for academic and industrial users. Aim: This study aimed to delineate the single-center experience surrounding the long-term consequences of surgical reconstruction in subjects with late-presenting DDH (developmental dysplasia of the hip). Methods: We analyzed 23 hips of 21 subjects aged >6 years who underwent surgical interventions such as pelvic osteotomy, open reduction, femoral shortening, and derotation, for developmental hip dysplasia. Results: After a median follow-up of 23.34 (8-120) months, there were no noteworthy alterations in the Harris score and anteversion. Nevertheless, significant improvements were observed in SHARP, CE angle, and depth and width index over the follow-up duration. Using Sever's radiological criteria, 87.1% of subjects achieved excellent and good results. Assessment of femoral head avascular necrosis, based on Bucholz and Ogden's classification, produced the subsequent findings: 52% of hips were Type I; 13% Type II; 22% Type III; and 13% were categorized as Type IV. Conclusion: Despite achieving favorable postoperative radiological outcomes, there is a noticeable decline in clinical success in these subjects, especially as their age increases. Additionally, they face an elevated risk of avascular necrosis. Based on the preoperative and postoperative changes in radiological measurements such as Sharp, ACE, D/G, and Anteversion, a 75% radiological success rate is juxtaposed with a 50% clinical success rate in the postoperative evaluations, underscoring this contrast. Background. Anxiety and depression can adversely affect the prognosis following cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and may be associated with resistance to hypertension (HT) treatment. A better understanding of the complex biological substratum of resistant HT complicated by depression and anxiety is crucial for designing future primary care strategies. Objectives. To evaluate the relationship between anxiety and depression and resistant HT, which will help to look at resistant HT from a broader perspective and aid the development of new strategies for diagnosis and treatment. Materials and methods. We used a stratified random sampling method to select HT patients aged 18 and older in primary care setting. A total of 300 consecutive patients with persistent HT who were diagnosed with essential HT and uncontrolled blood pressure (BP) despite antihypertensive therapy were prospectively included in the study. Anxiety and depression were investigated, and scoring was evaluated using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Results. The study included 108 controlled and 91 uncontrolled HT patients. The HADS scales were higher in the controlled HT group compared to the uncontrolled HT group (6 (0-18) compared to 9 (0-20), p = 0.001; 5 (0-17) compared to 7 (0-16), p < 0.001, respectively). Body mass index (BMI) and C-reactive protein (CRP) were also significantly higher in the uncontrolled HT patients compared to the normotensive group. Anxiety was associated with a 2.18 times increased risk of HT and a 1.99 times increased risk of depression. Thus, anxiety and depression predicted resistant HT in both univariate and multivariate analyses. Conclusions. During the treatment of HT, efforts should be made to improve the psychological and social functions of the patients beyond the primary therapy for control of the disease. Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most prevalent cardiac arrhythmia worldwide and is associated with an increased risk of thromboembolism, ischemic stroke, impaired quality of life, and mortality. The latest research that shows the prevalence and incidence of AF patients in Türkiye was the Turkish Adults' Heart Disease and Risk Factors study, which included 3,450 patients and collected data until 2006/07. The Turkish Real Life Atrial Fibrillation in Clinical Practice (TRAFFIC) study is planned to present current prevalence data, reveal the reflection of new treatment and risk approaches in our country, and develop new prediction models in terms of outcomes. Methods: The TRAFFIC study is a national, prospective, multicenter, observational registry. The study aims to collect data from at least 1900 patients diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, with the participation of 40 centers from Türkiye. The following data will be collected from patients: baseline demographic characteristics, medical history, vital signs, symptoms of AF, ECG and echocardiographic findings, CHADS2-VASC2 and HAS-BLED (1-year risk of major bleeding) risk scores, interventional treatments, antithrombotic and antiarrhythmic medications, or other medications used by the patients. For patients who use warfarin, international normalized ratio levels will be monitored. Follow-up data will be collected at 6, 12, 18, and 24 months. Primary endpoints are defined as systemic embolism or major safety endpoints (major bleeding, clinically relevant nonmajor bleeding, and minor bleeding as defined by the International Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis). The main secondary endpoints include major adverse cardiovascular events (systemic embolism, myocardial infarction, and cardiovascular death), all-cause mortality, and hospitalizations due to all causes or specific reasons. Results: The results of the 12-month follow-up of the study are planned to be shared by the end of 2023. Conclusion: The TRAFFIC study will reveal the prevalence and incidence, demographic characteristics, and risk profiles of AF patients in Türkiye. Additionally, it will provide insights into how current treatments are reflected in this population. Furthermore, risk prediction modeling and risk scoring can be conducted for patients with AF. In this study, a trajectory simulation is developed in order to estimate pre-apogee flight parameters of low altitude rockets. It is intended to evolve a mathematical model of trajectory of rocket and provide a perspective for design and performance analysis. The rocket's equations of motion of are integrated using the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method. First, the variation of altitude, velocity, acceleration, and pitch angle values of the rocket with time during flight are investigated. Secondly, the center of pressure and center of gravity are dynamically calculated to determine changes in the rocket's static margin during flight. This approach allows the simulation to provide information regarding the stability of the rocket. The accuracy of the numerical results is verified by comparing them to real flight data and an open source software. For this purpose, two rockets with design parameters and real flight data, previously launched to different altitudes, are used in the study. This research specifically focuses on orbital simulation and stability of unguided, low-altitude, subsonic sounding rockets and highlights the importance of modeling and simulation in the design and optimization of rockets. Dans notre article, nous sommes inspirés du journal de la campagne des vaisseaux du Roy le Léopard et l'Alcion, commandés par Mrs. De St-Germain et Du Ligondés, destinés en l'année 1728 pour aller à Constantinople; fait par moi marquis d'Antin, enseigne, embarqué sur ledit vaisseau le Léopard. Il est un officier de marine, il participe au voyage du marquis de Villeneuve, ambassadeur de la France, de Toulon à Constantinople et il écrit quotidiennement le journal de voyage. Le marquis de Villeneuve est né à Marseille où il exerçait la profession de militaire avant que la mission d'ambassadeur lui soit attribuée. Sous un ordre de mission pour un tribunal dirigé par lui-même, Villeneuve arrive à Paris. Sa rencontre avec Henri François d'Aguessau a été le tournant de sa vie professionnelle vu qu'Henri François d'Aguessau était le chancelier. Ce chancelier l'a proposé comme ambassadeur à Chauvelin. Cette proposition a été acceptée et ce fait montre à quel point il était influent auprès de la Cour de France. Les relations de Villeneuve avec les missions diplomatiques françaises situées en terres ottomanes lors de son voyage depuis Toulon vers Constantinople ont constitué la base des socio-structures de la diplomatie. Les comportements individuels désignent ici la description des séjours effectués aux ports d'escale en basant sur le journal de voyage écrit par le marquis d'Antin. Objective: Brucellosis is one of the most common zoonotic diseases in our country and the world. This study investigated the seroprevalence of brucellosis in individuals who were engaged in animal husbandry in Erzurum region, were over 18 years of age, or did not have any clinical complaints of brucellosis. Materials and Methods: Our study was conducted on 271 volunteers engaged in livestock farming in 20 districts of Erzurum province between 2020 and 2021. Brucella antibodies were investigated in blood samples using ELISA IgG, ELISA IgM, Rose Bengal, and Standard tube agglutination tests. A questionnaire was administered to the participants to investigate the risk factors of brucellosis. Results: The mean age of the participants was 43.6 ± 15.7.2 years (min:18, max:90), and there were 137 male (50.6%) and 134 female (49.4%) particpants. Seropositivity was detected with ELISA IgG in 40 of 271 participants (14.8%). Seropositivity was detected in the ELISA IgM test in 2 of these 40 participants (0.7%). Seropositivity was found in 46 participants (17%) in the Rose Bengal and 29 individuals in the STA test. According to the serology results, ELISA IgG positivity was higher in male participants compared to female participants (ratio=1.6). Among pet owners, ELISA IgG seropositivity was found higher than the participants who did not have pets (ratio=1.9). In the evaluation based on educational status, the rate of seropositivity was slightly higher in the participants who were illiterate and had a poor level of education. Conclusion: In our study, it was determined that the prevalence rate obtained by ELISA IgG was consistent with previous studies conducted in the region. No significant relationship was observed between the serology results of the participants and their gender and educational status. On the other hand, the positivity of ELISA IgG results was higher among the participants who had pets, and there was a significant relationship at the margin. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Peer bullying in the preschool period refers to the situation in which young children behave aggressively towards each other and these behaviors have negative effects on other children. This type of bullying behavior occurs when there is an imbalance of power and one child repeatedly engages in aggressive actions such as harming, threatening, teasing, or excluding another. This type of bullying can also be seen in preschool children's social interactions and games. For example, situations such as a child insulting another child in the game, excluding him from the game, or cheating in the game are examples of peer bullying. This type of behavior in children can often be difficult to understand and can manifest in different ways. Parents and educators should recognize such situations and take necessary precautions to support children's emotional and social development. Emphasizing values such as empathy, sharing and respect in education can help children develop their emotional skills and contribute to the prevention of peer bullying. It is also important to teach children empathy, cooperation and conflict resolution skills. The aim of this study is to comprehensively and holistically analyze the studies conducted on peer bullying in the preschool period in Turkey between 2019 and 2023, to determine the trend in the field of peer bullying in the preschool period, and to reveal the similarities and differences of the studies conducted on peer bullying in the preschool period. is to put.
