Depression which is one of the mood disorders, causes a decrease in the work that requires participation during the day, and affects interpersonal relationships. It is known to be a fairly common mental disorder, especially among women. The aim of this systematic review is to investigate the effect of women’s employment status on the severity of depressive symptoms in Turkey. Method: We searched the databases of YÖK Thesis Center, ULAKBIM, Web of Science and Scopus to detect those studies aiming to compare the employed women with housewives in terms of the depressive symptoms measured with validated self-report scales in Turkish. Results: Of the 283 studies reported in Turkish or English as an article or dissertation, 10 met the inclusion criteria for meta-analysis. The random effects meta-analysis conducted with R 4.0.1, meta and metafor package revealed a slight and statistically nonsignificant effect of the employment status on women’s depressive scores (g=-0.13 95% Confidence Interval [CI] [-0.41, 0.14]). Heterogeneity between studies was estimated at a high level (I2=90.3% 95% CI [84.3%, 94%]). Results of the metaregression analyses implied that neither the sample size (R2=0.00%) nor the publication year (R2=5.58%) were among the main sources the heterogeneity. The findings suggest that the risk of having depressive symptoms is nearly same in employed women as in housewives. Discussion: Hence, employment status is unlikely to be among the main factors leading to relatively higher prevalence of depression among women.

In this experimental study, we investigated the effects of Lumbricus extract on biochemical and histological markers of liver IR injury model in rats. A total of 10–12-weeks old, 250–300 g Sprague Dawley male rats were divided into groups of five (n = 7). Group I (Sham), Group II (IR), Group III (IR + 10 mg/kg Lumbricus extract), Group IV (IR + 20 mg/kg Lumbricus extract), and Group V (IR + 40 mg/kg Lumbricus extract) were marked, respectively. Lumbricus extract was dissolved with saline and administered orally. All rats except in Group I were applied ischemia for 45 minutes and reperfusion for 24 hours. The data obtained at the end of the experiment were evaluated by histological and biochemical methods, where we investigated catalase (CAT) superoxide dismutase (SOD) enzyme activity and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, as well as a histological examination of liver tissue samples. When MDA enzyme activity levels were compared with the sham and Lumbricus extract groups, it was found to be significantly higher than the IR group. SOD and CAT activity enzyme levels were found to be significantly lower. Our findings showed that Lumbricus extract could have a protective effect against experimentally induced IR injury in the liver by increasing antioxidant enzyme levels and decreasing lipid peroxidation and liver injury.

Yetişkin, örgün eğitimi alan çocuğa göre farklı yöntemlerle öğrenir. Yetişkinin farklı yöntemlerle öğrenmesinin yanı sıra; yetişkinlik dönemi, çocuk ve ergenliğe göre daha uzun bir zamanı kapsar. Yetişkin; yaşam içerisinde, mesleki, fiziki, psikolojik, sosyal ve daha birçok alandaki ihtiyaçlarına yönelik öğrenme süreçlerinin içerisinde bulunur. Özellikle işyerinde çalıştığı dönemde, yetişkinin, işyerinin kendisine sunduğu eğitim programlarına katılması, programdan verim alabilmesi, eğitimin, ihtiyacını karşılaması, yıllar sonra hatırlaması ve farklı açılardan kendisini geliştirmesi bakımından eğitim tasarımının önemi büyüktür. Yetişkin eğitimini hazırlayacak, sunacak eğitmen, çok çeşitlilikte araç ve etkinliklere başvurur. Eğitim ne olursa olsun, verilecek olan eğitim, yetişkin öğrenme ilkelerini / öğrenme yöntemlerini bilen bir eğitmen tarafından tasarlanmalıdır. Bu tasarımda, insanın ruhunu besleyen, yetişkinin kendi anlam dünyasında bir şeyler bulmasına alan açan, sanat etkinliklerinin olması, bu tasarımı güçlendireceği ve etkili bir eğitim yapacağı düşünülmektedir. Bu araştırmada, Türkiye’de özel sektörde yer alan kurumların çalışanlarına yönelik hazırladığı eğitim programlarına katılan yetişkinlerin bu eğitimlerden hangi düşünce ve görüşlerle ayrıldıkları değerlendirilecek ve bu konuda bir eğitim modeli önerisi sunulacaktır. Aldıkları eğitimlerde, sanat etkinlikleri denilince, akla nelerin geldiği sorgulanmıştır. Sınırlılıklar arasında yer alan fotoğraf, müzik ve resim gibi alanları içeren eğitimlerin, yetişkinlere ne gibi etkileri olduğu araştırılmıştır. Araştırma, nitel araştırma tekniklerinden olgu bilimle desenlenmiş olup betimleyici ve yorumlayıcı olgu bilim olarak işlenmiştir. Araştırmada görüşme yöntemiyle veriler toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Türkiye’de özel sektörde, en az beş bin çalışanı olan, akademisi olan ya da eğitim ve gelişime önem veren bir eğitim departmanı olan büyük kurumlarda yılda en az 5 eğitim alan ve 5 yıldan fazla çalışmış, görüşmeyi kabul eden 10 katılımcı oluşturmaktadır. Görüşmelerde açık uçlu sorular aracılığı ile veriler toplanmış, MAXQDA 2022 paket programında içerik analizine tabii tutulmuştur.Araştırma bulgularından yola çıkılarak yetişkinlerin sanat etkinliklerinin olduğu eğitimlerde odaklanmayı sağladığı ve yıllar sonra bile akılda kalıcılığa bir katkısını olduğu yönünde bir sonuç elde edilmiştir. Adults learn through different methods compared to children who receive formal education. In addition to the adults’ learning through different methods, adulthood covers a longer period than childhood and adolescence. Adults participate in various learning processes related to their professional, physical, psychological, social and many other needs. Educational design is of great importance, especially when the adult is working for an institution. Educational design is integral to training programs offered by the employer in terms of adults’ participating in the program; benefiting from the program; ensuring that the program meets the needs; recalling it in the years to come and improving himself/herself in different aspects. The instructor who prepares and presents adult education content utilizes a wide variety of tools and activities. Regardless of the content, the training session should be designed by an instructor who is familiar with the adult learning principles/learning methods. It is considered that art activities nourishing the human spirit, opening new horizons for the adult participants to explore their own world of meaning, will strengthen this design and provide an effective education.In this research, the thoughts and opinions of the adults participating in the training programs designed for the private sector employees in Turkey will be evaluated and a new a model will be proposed in this regard. During the training sessions, participants were asked to explain what comes to their minds when art activities are mentioned. The effects of trainings including photography, music and painting, all of which are within the scope and limitations of the study, on adults were investigated. The research was designed as a phenomenological study, one of the qualitative research techniques, and was carried out as descriptive and interpretive phenomenology. In the research, data were collected through interview method. The study group consists of 10 consenting participants who receives at least 5 trainings per year; has worked for more than 5 years in a large private sector institution in Turkey that has at least five thousand employees and an academy or an education department that prioritizes training and professional development. Data were collected through open-ended interview questions and the content was analyzed using the MAXQDA 2022 package program.Based on the research findings, it was concluded that adults can focus during trainings with art activities and that such activities contribute to retention even after years.

Bu çalışmada, naylon/pamuk karışımı kumaşların tek banyo tek adımlı olarak boyanabilmesi için her iki lif komponentinin tek bir boyarmadde ile boyanabilir hale getirilmesi üzerinde çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla kitosan ile katyonikleştirme yoluyla liflerin her ikisinin anyonik karakterli boyalarla boyanabilir hale getirilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Fulardda yapılan kitosan aplikasyonları sadece çapraz bağlayıcı ve çapraz bağlayıcı + kitosan kullanılarak iki farklı şekilde yapılmıştır. Ardından işlemli ve işlemsiz kumaş numuneleri değişik boya sınıflarıyla (yün reaktifi, pamuk reaktifi, 1:2 metal kompleks) boyanmıştır. Yapılan denemeler sonucunda yün reaktifinin yanı sıra hem naylona afiniteli 1:2 metal kompleks boya hem de pamuğa afiniteli pamuk reaktifi ilavesi durumunda ön ve arka yüzlerin hem derinlik hem nüans olarak aynı seviyeye gelmesi sağlanabilmiştir. Laboratuvar ölçekli çalışmalardan elde edilen optimum sonuçlar işletme koşullarında da denenmiş ve renk ve yıkama, su, ter ve ışık haslıkları açısından tatmin edici sonuçlar alınmıştır. Ancak özellikle yaş sürtme haslıklarının düşük olması ve kumaşta yer yer düzgünsüzlük problemlerinin olması kitosan ile kimyasal modifikasyon işlemlerinin, laboratuvar ölçekli çalışmalarda başarılı sonuç vermesine karşın, işletmede üretim koşullarında kullanılabilmesinin bazı güçlükler içerdiğini ortaya koymuştur.

This study investigated the effects of Montessori Training Program for Mothers (MTPM) on math and dailyliving skills of Montessori children ages 4 to 5 years old. Sample of the study included 19 Montessori pre-schoolers (8 and11 children in experimental and control group respectively) who enrolled at an applied kindergarten affiliated to a universityat Konya in 2016-2017 school year. Verified to be a reliable and valid measure for Turkish children, two subtests –Mathematics (MATH) and Daily Living Skills (DLS) – of the Basic School Skills Inventory 3 (BSSI) were used to collectdata. Tests were administered to the students as pre-test, post-test and follow-up test by their teachers. MTPM wasadministered to the mothers in the experimental group for 12 weeks-36 hours in total while control and experimentalgroup children continued their Montessori education. Four weeks after the program was completed, BSSI-3-MATH andBSSI-3-DLS tests were re-administered as follow-up test. Mann Whitney U test and Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test were usedfor the analysis of the study data. A comparison between the post-test mean scores of the experimental and control groupshowed a significant difference (p .05) in math skills favoring the experimental group; no difference was found in preand post-test scores in daily living skills (p0.5). No significant difference was noted between the post-test and follow-upmean scores that experimental group children obtained on BSSI-3-MATH and BSSI-3-DLS, which showed that programgains were maintained., Bu araştırma Montessori eğitim yöntemi ile eğitim alan 4-5 yaş çocuklarının annelerine verilen Montessori AnneDestek Eğitiminin, çocukların matematik ve günlük yaşam becerilerine etkisini incelemeyi amaçlamıştır. Çalışma grubunda,2016-2017 öğretim yılında Konya ilinde bulunan bir üniversiteye bağlı uygulama anaokuluna devam eden Montessoriyöntemi ile okulöncesi eğitim alan, 8 deney, 11 kontrol olmak üzere toplam 19 çocuk yer almıştır. Araştırmada veri toplamaaracı olarak geçerlilik ve güvenirlilik çalışması sonucunda Türk çocuklarına uygun olduğu tespit edilmiş olan “Temel OkulBecerileri Envanteri-3’ün Matematik ve Günlük Yaşam Becerileri” alt testleri uygulanmıştır. Testler deney ve kontrol grubuçocuklara öğretmenleri tarafından öntest ve sontest olarak uygulanmıştır. Kontrol grubu ve deney grubu Montessoriyöntemi ile okulöncesi eğitimin almaya devam ederken, Montessori Anne Destek Eğitim Programı deney grubu annelerine12 hafta ve toplamda 36 saat olarak uygulanmıştır. Eğitim programı bittikten 4 ve 12 hafta sonra kalıcılık testi için TOBE3- MAT ve TOBE-3- GYB tekrar uygulanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilerin analizinde Mann Whitney U veWilcoxon İşaretli Sıralar Testi uygulanmıştır. İncelenen bulgular deney ve kontrol grubu arasında sontest puan ortalamaları,(p .05) Matematik de deney grubu lehine anlamlı bir farklılaşma görülmüştür. Deney grubu Günlük Yaşam Becerileriöntest-sontest değerlendirmelerinde ise (p0.5) olduğu için bir farklılaşma bulunamamıştır. Deney grubu çocuklarınTOBE-3-MAT ve TOBE-3-GYB alt testi sontest-kalıcılık testi puan ortalamaları arasında (p0.05) anlamlı bir farklılaşmaolmaması çalışmanın kalıcılığına vurgu yapmaktadır.

DİŞ HEKİMLİĞİ FAKÜLTESİNE BAŞVURAN HASTALARIN KENDİ KENDİNİ AĞIZ MUAYENESİ YÖNTEMİYLE İLGİLİ MEMNUNİYETİ: PİLOT ÇALIŞMAİlkay PEKER1, Umut PAMUKÇU1, Zühre AKARSLAN 1, Fatma Nur YILDIZ 1, Bülent ALTUNKAYNAK2, Özlem ÜÇOK11Gazi Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi, Ağız Diş ve Çene Radyolojisi A.D.2Gazi Üniversitesi Fen Fakültesi, İstatistik A.D.Giriş-Amaç: Kendi kendini ağız muayenesi (KKAM), ağız kanserlerinin erken tanısı için önerilen, invaziv olmayan ve kolay uygulanabilen bir yöntemdir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, diş hekimliği fakültesine başvuran hastaların KKAM yöntemiyle ilgili memnuniyetini değerlendirmektir.Gereç-Yöntem: Çalışmaya 31-75 yaş arasındaki (yaş ortalaması 42.7) 66 birey dahil edildi. Çalışma için KKAM’nin önemi ve uygulaması ile ilgili bilgiler içeren formlar hazırlandı. Katılımcılardan evlerinde sakin bir ortamda formu okuyarak KKAM uygulaması yaptıktan sonra, yöntemden memnuniyetleri, kolay olup olmadığı, KKAM yapmaya devam edip etmeyecekleri ve yöntemin etkinliğine dair düşünceleri ile ilgili sorular soruldu. Katılımcılar, doldurdukları formları ağız, diş ve çene radyolojisi uzmanlarına teslim ettiler. Elde edilen veriler kaydedilerek deskriptif istatistik ile analiz edildi.Bulgular: KKAM yapan bireylerin çoğu (%80) yöntemi kolaylıkla uyguladığını ve memnuniyet duyduklarını (%89) belirtti. Katılımcıların %89’u bundan sonra da KKAM yapmaya devam edeceğini ve yöntemin etkinliğine inandıklarını (%77.3) beyan ettiler.Sonuç: Çalışmanın sonuçları katılımcıların büyük bir bölümünün KKAM yönteminden memnun olduğunu ve bundan sonraki yaşamlarında uygulamaya devam edeceğini gösterdi. The aim of this study is to evaluate the satisfaction of the patients' refering to the faculty of dentistry with the MSE method.Material-Method: 66 individuals aged 31-75 years old (mean age 42.7) were included in the study. For the study, forms containing information about the importance and application of MSE were prepared. The patients were asked to read the form with MSE in a calm environment at home, and record their satisfaction with the method, whether it was easy, whether they would continue to do MSE and their thoughts on the effectiveness of the method. The participants delivered the filled forms to the maxillofacial radiologists. The obtained data were recorded and analyzed with descriptive statistics.Results: Most of the individuals who performed MSE (80%) stated that they applied the method easily and were satisfied (89%). 89% of the participants declared that they will continue to perform MSE and believe in the effectiveness of the method(77.3%).Conclusion: The results of the study showed that most of the participants were satisfied with the MSE method and will continue to practice it in their future lives. At the same time, the participants mostly stated that they thought the MSE method was an effective and an easy method to apply.Keywords: Oral examination, self-examination, satisfactio

İnsanların çalışmaya yükledikleri anlam, çok önceleri mağara duvarına çizilen resimlerden bu yana çeşitli sanatsal temsillerde ortaya çıkmaktadır. Sanatsal temsiller bir toplumun gerçeğe yükledikleri anlam olarak kabul edildiğinde, simgesel etkileşimcilik kuramının söylemleri etkilidir. Simgeler, belli bir toplum için aynı anlamı taşıması bakımından önemliyken sanatsal temsiller incelemesiyle farklı araştırma metotlarıyla ulaşılamayan, bir topluma ait gerçekler gün yüzüne çıkarılmaktadır. İşte bu çalışmada, insan kaynakları yönetimi ve örgütsel davranışın sinema filmlerindeki temsillerinin incelenmesi ve bu disiplinler çerçevesinde anlamlı çıkarımlar yapmak amaçlanmaktadır. “İnsan kaynakları yönetimi ve örgütsel davranışın sinemada nasıl temsil edilmektedir? Bu disiplinler çerçevesinde hangi anlamlar çıkarılabilir?” problemlerine cevap aranmaktadır. Sinemaya insan kaynakları yönetimi ve örgütsel davranış disiplinleri açısından bakılarak çeşitli anlamlar yüklenmeye çalışılmaktadır. Araştırma nitel bir yaklaşımla örnek olay yöntemi üzerine inşa edilmiştir. Örnek olayların seçiminde elemeci ve eleştirel bir yaklaşım benimsenmiştir. Araştırma problemine cevap verebilecek niteliklere sahip 2006-2015 yılları arasında Amerika veya Fransa yapımı olan filmler çalışma hayatını temsil gücünün fazla olmasına özen gösterilerek değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi tekniği ile analiz edilerek temalar halinde sunulmuştur. Çalışmanın sonucunda estetik emeğin işe alım mülakatlarında önemli olabileceği, tersine mentorluğun ve yenilikçi iş uygulamalarının işletme başarısına katkısı, elektronik olarak yapılan işten çıkarma mülakatlarının olumsuz etkileri ve insan kaynakları yönetiminin etkisiz ve çıkarcı rolü ortaya çıkmıştır. The meaning that people attribute to work has emerged in various artistic representations since the paintings drawn on the cave wall long ago. When artistic representations are accepted as the meaning placed by a society, the discourses of symbolic interactionism theory are effective. Symbols are important in terms of having the same meaning for a certain society. The facts of a society, which cannot be reached by different research methods, are revealed with the study of artistic representations. In this study, it was aimed to examine the representations of human resources management and organizational behavior in cinema films and make meaningful inferences within the framework of these disciplines. The problems sought in the research are as follows: “How is human resources management and organizational behavior represented in cinema? What meanings can be derived from these disciplines?” Various meanings were tried to be taken by looking at cinema in terms of human resources management and organizational behavior disciplines. The research was built on a case study method with a qualitative approach. A selective and critical approach was adopted in the selection of case studies. The cinema films that were produced between 2006 and 2015, which were made in America or French and have the qualities that can answer the research problem, were taken into consideration by paying attention to the fact that they have a strong representation power in working life. The data obtained were analyzed with content analysis technique and presented as themes. As a result of the study, it has been revealed that aesthetic labor can be important in recruitment interviews, the contribution of reverse mentoring and innovative business practices to the success of the company, the negative effects of electronically dismissal interviews and the ineffective and beneficial role of human resource management.
