Abstract Background Although the Healthy Eating Index (HEI) is widely recommended to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and all-cause death, there are significant differences in physiological and nutritional factors between the sexes. The potential impact of sex on adult dietary health is still poorly understood. The study was designed to assess whether the health benefits of diet differed by sex. Methods In a prospective study of 39,567 U.S. adults (51.2% female, age 46.8 ± 17.6 years), we examined sex-specific, multivariable-adjusted associations of HEI with all-cause mortality and cardiovascular disease mortality. Restricted cubic splines (RCS), subgroup analysis, propensity score matching (PSM), random forest feature importance, and sensitivity analysis were also used. Results During 328,403 person-years of follow-up, a total of 4754 all-cause deaths were recorded, including 1481 cardiovascular deaths. Compared to the lowest quartile of HEI, the all-cause mortality rate of females and males in the highest quartile array decreased by 34% (HR 0.66 [95% CI 0.55–0.8]) and 15% (HR 0.85 [95% CI 0.73–0.99]), respectively. The restricted cubic spline showed a linear inverse association between baseline HEI and all-cause mortality and CVD mortality, with similar sex-specific results. Similarly, component scores were sex-specific for mortality risk, with females benefiting more from diet. The benefits of dairy products, vegetables, and sodium scores on the risk of all-cause death were higher in males and females. However, the benefits of vegetable, sodium, and fatty acid scores on the risk of cardiovascular death were different. Conclusions In the adult population of the U.S., there are more opportunities for females to reduce the risk of all-cause mortality and cardiovascular mortality from the same dose of healthy dietary intake than males. These findings could reduce the risk of death by motivating the population, especially females, to consume healthy dietary components, especially vegetables and dairy products.

In response to the current challenges of high water pressure and easy conduction in kilometer deep wells, we propose the “hydrophobic pressure reduction, slurry reinforcement” mine water control technology, which requires slurry materials with “high strength, strong stability, easy flow, low cost” and other properties. “High strength” can be achieved by adding nano-reinforced materials. “Strong stability” can be achieved by preferentially selecting easy-to-consolidate and difficult-to-disperse raw materials and adjusting the mixing conditions. “Stable flow” can be achieved by adjusting the particle size of added raw materials and increasing the interfacial friction. “Low cost” can be achieved by using existing large-scale industrial and mining solid waste products that are in urgent need of treatment, supplemented by a small amount of additives. In view of the above problems, this paper aims at reinforcing the coal seam floor with slurry, and takes the large-scale utilization of industrial and mining wastes as the direction. By using waste tire rubber particles, fly ash and clay as the main materials, supplemented with a small amount of admixtures, the orthogonal test method is used to carry out experimental research on the basic performance of solid waste slurry filling materials. The effects of different rubber particle admixtures and admixtures were analyzed in the paper, and their effects on the flowability, mechanical properties, stability in mine water environment, impermeability and microstructural properties of the grouted stone body were derived. The research results show that when rubber particles are mixed with 20%, fly ash with 65%, clay with 15%, and nano-silica with 1% of solid powder, the flow of the grouted slurry is 293 mm, the 28 d compressive strength of the grouted stone body is 11.7 MPa, and the seepage pressure of the stone body is 0.8 MPa, and the obtained test results can meet the demand of field grouting reinforcement, which is useful for The obtained test results can meet the demand for on-site grouting reinforcement, which has scientific reference value for large-scale bottom slab fracture grouting reinforcement and also provides reference for large-scale utilization of solid waste products.

Abstract We have investigated the activation characteristics of mining faults and the effect of grouting reinforcement under thick loose layer and thin bedrock of the working face and evaluate their impact on the safety of mining at similar working faces. Implementing the geological conditions of the 331 working face of the Yangcun Coal Mine (China) of the Yankuang Energy Group Corporation, we have analyzed mechanically the process of fault activation at first. Subsequently, we have obtained the mechanical criterion of fault slip and the expression of relative strength of the nearby rock mass. Using numerical software we have simulated and analyzed the damage characteristics of different bedrock thicknesses on overlying rocks and faults in the fluid–solid coupling mode. In addition, we have studied the controlling effect of grouting reinforcement on fault activation, which has been verified in the field. The main results of our study show that: 1. The mechanical properties of the rock mass near the fault interface have changed and they are related to the cohesive force of the interface; 2. The water inrush mode of the working face changes under different bedrock thickness, and the thinner the bedrock, the less easily the fault is destroyed 3. The slip of the high-level fault is reduced after the grouting of the fault, the propagation of the fracture zone at the fault is suppressed, the seepage of the aquifer water is prevented, and the safe recovery is realized. The results of our study provide a scientific basis for the secure mining across the fault of the 331 working face of Yangcun Coal Mine. Based on the results of our study the working face can be mined safely from now on and in the future.

Many deep mining mines in southwestern Shandong Province of China are covered with thick loose layers. When mining near the loose layers, there is a risk of water and sand inrush, which threatens the personal safety of miners. The prediction of sudden water and sand inrush is difficult due to the comprehensive influence of many factors, and the influencing factors are fuzzy and random. To solve this problem, in this paper, a new risk assessment method of water and sand inrush based on comprehensive weight and cloud model was proposed. Seven factors are selected as indexes: the aquifer thickness, the thickness ratio of sand layer to clay layer, the thickness of bottom clay layer, the coal seam thickness, the percentage of core recovery, the geological structure, and the bedrock thickness. The assessment index system is established, and the index is divided into three grades. A comprehensive weighting method, which combines analytic hierarchy process (AHP), entropy weight method (EWM), and minimum entropy principle, is used to reasonably assign the weight of index. Based on the cloud generator equation, the membership function is obtained. The assessment result of the assessment object is obtained by combining the membership degree and the weight of index. The comprehensive weight-cloud model assessment method is applied to the risk assessment of water and sand inrush in the 6311-2 working face in the sixth mining area of Baodian Coal Mine. According to the assessment results, the following conclusions can be drawn: (1) the bedrock thickness and the coal seam thickness are the main factors of water and sand inrush under loose layer mining; (2) the assessment results obtained by the comprehensive weight-cloud model method are consistent with the actual situation. The assessment method can provide scientific reference for the safe mining under the thick loose layer in the deep mines of southwest Shandong.

Except for improving glycemic control, liraglutide, one of the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, has exerted promising therapeutic effects for dyslipidemia. It has been proved that gut microbiota plays a dramatic role in regulating lipid metabolism. This study aims to explore whether liraglutide could improve dyslipidemia by modulating the gut microbiota in mice fed a high-fat diet (HFD). The C57BL/6 mice were fed a HFD to establish an animal model of dyslipidemia, and then administered with liraglutide or normal saline (NS) for 12 weeks. Indices of glucolipid metabolism were evaluated. Gut microbiota of the mice was analyzed by 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Compared with HFD group, liraglutide significantly alleviated weight, total cholesterol (TC) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) levels, meanwhile elevating high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) levels (all p < 0.05). The gut microbiota analysis revealed that liraglutide greatly reduced the relative abundance of Firmicutes and augmented that of Bacteroidetes, with a concomitant drop in the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio. Meanwhile, liraglutide dramatically changed the overall composition, promoted the growth of beneficial microbes (Akkermansia, Lactobacillus, Parabacteroides, Oscillospira, etc.), and inhibited the growth of harmful microbes (AF12, Shigella, Proteobacteria, Xenorhabdus, etc.). Especially, the relative abundance of Akkermansia increased the most after liraglutide treatment. Correlation analysis suggested that TC and LDL were positively correlated with some harmful bacteria, and negatively associated with beneficial bacteria. This study confirmed that liraglutide had a certain therapeutic effect on dyslipidemia in HFD-fed mice and could regulate the composition of the gut microbiota associated with lipid metabolism, especially Akkermansia. Thus, affecting gut microbiota might be a potential mechanism of liraglutide in attenuating dyslipidemia.

ObjectiveEctodysplasin A (EDA), a newly discovered hepatokine, has recently been considered to be closely related to glycolipid metabolism disorders, but the pathophysiological effects of EDA are still poorly understood. This study was the first time to determine the level of serum EDA in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients, and to explore the relationships between serum EDA levels and various metabolic indexes.MethodsA total of 184 subjects were enrolled in the study, including 92 subjects with newly diagnosed T2DM and 92 subjects with age- and sex-matched normal glucose tolerance (NGT). Serum EDA levels were determined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Oral glucose tolerance test, glycosylated hemoglobin c (HbA1c), and insulin were also measured.ResultsSerum EDA levels were significantly increased in the T2DM group than in the NGT group (359.91 ± 117.99 vs. 265.82 ± 86.51 pg/ml, p < 0.001). Serum EDA levels were positively correlated with body mass index (BMI), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), HbA1c, 2-hour postprandial plasma glucose (2hPG), fasting plasma insulin (FIns), fasting C peptide (FCP), triglyceride (TG), HOMA-IR, and negatively correlated with high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) and HOMA-β (p < 0.05). Multiple stepwise regression analysis demonstrated that 2hPG and FIns were independent influencing factors of serum EDA level (p < 0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that serum EDA level was significantly independently correlated with T2DM (p < 0.05).ConclusionsSerum EDA levels are significantly higher in T2DM patients, suggesting that EDA may play a role in the occurrence and development of T2DM.

Taking the mine dump in nonferrous metal mine as the research object in desert steppe Inner Mongolia, according to the artificial remodeling of the landforms and the characteristics of water and soil erosion, the vegetation restoration model tests on the dumping site were carried out. The ecological effects of four vegetation restoration measures on soil and water storage were analyzed which including shrubs, shrubgrass, grass and natural restoration of vegetation. The research results showed that compared with the natural restoration plant community, the soil surface water content of the three planting restoration measures increased obviously, the soil organic matter content increased but the change difference was not obvious. The vegetation coverage of shrub-grass was 67%, and the aboveground biomass was 132 g/m2. The vegetation restoration measure of shrub-grass had stronger wind-proof and soil-fixing ability than other measures, the vegetation coverage reaches 67% and the above-ground biomass is 132 g/m2. Efficacy evaluation was carried out by the grey correlation method, and Comprehensive benefit of shrubs, shrub-grass and grass all reached higher value. The most comprehensive benefit was the shrub-grass measure, which reached 0.68, and the smallest was shrubs measure also reached 0.60. Three measures cloud be applied to the vegetation restoration of desert steppe metal mining areas, and shrub-grass measure was the best.
