Background: Thyroid eye disease (TED) is an autoimmune orbital disease, with intravenous glucocorticoid (IVGC) therapy as the first-line treatment. Due to uncertain response rates and possible side effects, various prediction models have been developed to predict IVGC therapy outcomes. Methods: A thorough search was conducted in PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases. Data extraction included publication details, prediction model content, and performance. Statistical analysis was performed using R software, including heterogeneity evaluation, publication bias, subgroup analysis, and sensitivity analysis. Forest plots were utilized for result visualization. Results: Of the 12 eligible studies, 47 prediction models were extracted. All included studies exhibited a low-to-moderate risk of bias. The pooled area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) and the combined sensitivity and specificity for the models were 0.81, 0.75, and 0.79, respectively. In view of heterogeneity, multiple meta-regression and subgroup analysis were conducted, which showed that marker and modeling types may be the possible causes of heterogeneity (P < 0.001). Notably, imaging metrics alone (AUC = 0.81) or clinical characteristics combined with other markers (AUC = 0.87), incorporating with multivariate regression (AUC = 0.84) or radiomics analysis (AUC = 0.91), yielded robust and reliable prediction outcomes. Conclusion: This meta-analysis comprehensively reviews the predictive models for IVGC therapy response in TED. It underscores that integrating clinical characteristics with laboratory or imaging indicators and employing advanced techniques like multivariate regression or radiomics analysis significantly enhance the efficacy of prediction. Our research findings offer valuable insights that can guide future studies on prediction models for IVGC therapy in TED.

Abstract Background Thyroid eye disease (TED) is highly correlated with dysregulated immunoendocrine status. The insular cortex was found to regulate peripheral inflammation and immunomodulation in mice. This study aimed to explore whether the insular cortex in patients with TED played a modulatory role including the aberrant brain functional alteration and its association with immunoendocrine status. Methods This study included 34 active patients (AP), 30 inactive patients (IP) with TED, and 45 healthy controls (HC) matched for age, sex, and educational level. Comprehensive clinical details (especially immunoendocrine markers) and resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging data were collected from each participant. The amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF) was used to probe the aberrant alterations of local neural activity. The seed-based functional connectivity (FC) analysis was used to explore the relationship between the insular cortex and each voxel throughout the whole brain. The correlation analysis was conducted to assess the association between insular neurobiomarkers and immunoendocrine parameters. Results When compared with the IP and HC groups, the AP group displayed significantly higher ALFF values in the right insular cortex (INS.R) and lower FC values between the INS.R and the bilateral cerebellum. None of the neurobiomarkers differed between the IP and HC groups. Besides, correlations between insular neurobiomarkers and immunoendocrine markers (free thyroxine, the proportion of T cells, and natural killer cells) were identified in both AP and IP groups. Conclusions This study was novel in reporting that the dysregulation of the insular cortex activity in TED was associated with abnormal peripheral immunoendocrine status. The insular cortex might play a key role in central–peripheral system interaction in TED. Further research is crucial to enhance our understanding of the central–peripheral system interaction mechanisms involved in autoimmune diseases.

Abstract Background Radiomics analysis of orbital magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) shows preliminary potential for intravenous glucocorticoid (IVGC) response prediction of thyroid eye disease (TED). The current region of interest segmentation contains only a single organ as extraocular muscles (EOMs). It would be of great value to consider all orbital soft tissues and construct a better prediction model. Methods In this retrospective study, we enrolled 127 patients with TED that received 4·5 g IVGC therapy and had complete follow-up examinations. Pre-treatment orbital T2-weighted imaging (T2WI) was acquired for all subjects. Using multi-organ segmentation (MOS) strategy, we contoured the EOMs, lacrimal gland (LG), orbital fat (OF), and optic nerve (ON), respectively. By fused-organ segmentation (FOS), we contoured the aforementioned structures as a cohesive unit. Whole-orbit radiomics (WOR) models consisting of a multi-regional radiomics (MRR) model and a fused-regional radiomics (FRR) model were further constructed using six machine learning (ML) algorithms. Results The support vector machine (SVM) classifier had the best performance on the MRR model (AUC = 0·961). The MRR model outperformed the single-regional radiomics (SRR) models (highest AUC = 0·766, XGBoost on EOMs, or LR on OF) and conventional semiquantitative imaging model (highest AUC = 0·760, NaiveBayes). The application of different ML algorithms for the comparison between the MRR model and the FRR model (highest AUC = 0·916, LR) led to different conclusions. Conclusions The WOR models achieved a satisfactory result in IVGC response prediction of TED. It would be beneficial to include more orbital structures and implement ML algorithms while constructing radiomics models. The selection of separate or overall segmentation of orbital soft tissues has not yet attained its final optimal result.

Abstract Introduction This study aimed to examine the performance of binocular chromatic pupillometry for the objective and rapid detection of primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG), and to explore the association between pupillary light response (PLR) features and structural glaucomatous macular damage. Methods Forty-six patients (mean age 41.00 ± 13.03 years) with POAG and 23 healthy controls (mean age 42.00 ± 11.08 years) were enrolled. All participants underwent sequenced PLR tests of full-field, superior/inferior quadrant-field chromatic stimuli using a binocular head-mounted pupillometer. The constricting amplitude, velocity, and time to max constriction/dilation, and the post-illumination pupil response (PIPR) were analyzed. The inner retina thickness and volume measurements were determined by spectral domain optical coherence tomography. Anti-inflammatory treatment is the primary and vital therapeutic approach for active, moderate-to-severe thyroid eye disease (TED). Accurate pretreatment prediction of treatment response is of paramount importance for the prognosis of patients. However, relying solely on the clinical activity score asa determinant of activity has led to unsatisfactory treatment outcomes. In recent years, significant advancements have been made in identifying predictive markers for anti-inflammatory treatment response in TED, clinical markers, body fluid biomarkers and imaging biomarkers. Several clinical studies have developed prediction models based on these markers. However, there is still a lack of comprehensive elucidation or comparison between the different markers. Therefore, this review aims to provide a detailed analysis of the definition, characteristics, and application of predictive markers for anti-inflammatory treatment response in TED. Through detailed literature search, 26 articles applying anti-inflammatory treatment effect prediction with a total of 1948 TED patients were used for analysis and discussion. By gaining a better understanding of the current research on predictive markers, we can accelerate and guide the exploration of treatment prediction strategies, leading us towards an era of precise therapy for TED.

The transketolase 1 gene (TKTL1) is an essential factor that contributes to brain development. Some studies have shown the influence of TKTL1 in cancers, but it has been rarely reported in kidney cancer. Furthermore, the role of TKTL1 in the prognosis and tumor infiltration of immune cells in various cancers, particularly kidney cancer, remains unknown. In this study, TKTL1 expression and its clinical characteristics were investigated using a variety of databases. TIMER was used to investigate the relationship between TKTL1 and immune infiltrates in various types of cancer. We also studied the relationship between TKTL1 expression and response to PD-1 blocker immunotherapy in renal cancer. We conducted TKTL1 agonists virtual screening from 13,633 natural compounds (L6020), implemented secondary library construction according to the types of top results, and then conducted secondary virtual screening for 367 alkaloids. Finally, in vitro assays of cell viability assays and colony formation assays were performed to demonstrate the pharmacological potency of the screening of TKTL1 agonists. Using these methods, we determined that TKTL1 significantly affects the prognostic potential in different types of kidney cancer patients. The underlying mechanism might be that the TKTL1 expression level was positively associated with devious immunocytes in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC) rather than in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP) and kidney chromophobe (KICH). This recruitment may result from the up-regulation of the mTOR signaling pathway affecting T cell metabolism. We also found that TKTL1 may act as an immunomodulator in KIRC patients’ response to anti-PD-1 therapy. Moreover, we also found that piperine and glibenclamide are potent agonists of TKTL1. We have demonstrated, in vitro, that piperine and glibenclamide can inhibit the proliferation and clone formation of Caki-2 cell lines by agonizing the expression of TKTL1. In summary, our discovery implies that TKTL1 may be a promising prognostic biomarker for KIRC patients who respond to anti-PD-1 therapy. Piperine and glibenclamide may be effective therapeutic TKTL1 agonists, providing a theoretical basis for the clinical treatment of kidney cancer.

AimThe aim of this study is to evaluate the utility of binocular chromatic pupillometry in detecting impaired pupillary light response (PLR) in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and to assess the feasibility of using binocular chromatic pupillometer in opportunistic POAG diagnosis in community-based or telemedicine-based services.MethodsIn this prospective, cross-sectional study, 74 patients with POAG and 23 healthy controls were enrolled. All participants underwent comprehensive ophthalmologic examinations including optical coherence tomography (OCT) and standard automated perimetry (SAP). The PLR tests included sequential tests of full-field chromatic stimuli weighted by rods, intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs), and cones (Experiment 1), as well as alternating chromatic light flash-induced relative afferent pupillary defect (RAPD) test (Experiment 2). In Experiment 1, the constricting amplitude, velocity, and time to maximum constriction/dilation were calculated in three cell type-weighted responses, and the post-illumination response of ipRGC-weighted response was evaluated. In Experiment 2, infrared pupillary asymmetry (IPA) amplitude and anisocoria duration induced by intermittent blue or red light flashes were calculated.ResultsIn Experiment 1, the PLR of POAG patients was significantly reduced in all conditions, reflecting the defect in photoreception through rods, cones, and ipRGCs. The variable with the highest area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) was time to max dilation under ipRGC-weighted stimulus, followed by the constriction amplitude under cone-weighted stimulus and the constriction amplitude response to ipRGC-weighted stimuli. The impaired PLR features were associated with greater visual field loss, thinner retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness, and cupping of the optic disk. In Experiment 2, IPA and anisocoria duration induced by intermittent blue or red light flashes were significantly greater in participants with POAG than in controls. IPA and anisocoria duration had good diagnostic value, correlating with the inter-eye asymmetry of visual field loss.ConclusionWe demonstrate that binocular chromatic pupillometry could potentially serve as an objective clinical tool for opportunistic glaucoma diagnosis in community-based or telemedicine-based services. Binocular chromatic pupillometry allows an accurate, objective, and rapid assessment of retinal structural impairment and functional loss in glaucomatous eyes of different severity levels.

IntroductionCentral lymph node metastasis (CLNM) is common in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Prophylactic central lymph node dissection (PCLND) in clinically negative central compartment lymph node (cN0) PTC patients is still controversial. How to predict CLNM before the operation is very important for surgical decision making.MethodsIn this article, we retrospectively enrolled 243 cN0 PTC patients and gathered data including clinical characteristics, ultrasound (US) characteristics, pathological results of fine-needle aspiration (FNA), thyroid function, eight gene mutations, and immunoenzymatic results. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) analysis was used for data dimensionality reduction and feature analysis.ResultsAccording to the results, the important predictors of CLNM were identified. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to establish a new nomogram prediction model. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, calibration curve, and decision curve analysis (DCA) curve were used to evaluate the performance of the new prediction model.DiscussionThe new nomogram prediction model was a reasonable and reliable model for predicting CLNM in cN0 PTC patients, but further validation is warranted.

BackgroundRetinoblastoma (Rb) is a common ocular malignant tumor in children. Intra-arterial chemotherapy (IAC) has been widely used in children with Rb and has achieved an ideal therapeutic effect. However, IAC has side effects, including anemia and bone marrow suppression, for which explicit evidence on the risk factors is lacking. This study aimed to evaluate the covariates that may affect the occurrence of anemia and bone marrow suppression in children with Rb after IAC.MethodsChildren with Rb admitted between May 2019 and January 2021 were included into the study. The differences in the number of children with anemia and bone marrow suppression before and after IAC according to different covariates were recorded. Abstract Background To establish a decision model based on two- (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) eye data of patients with ptosis for developing personalized surgery plans. Methods Data of this retrospective, case-control study was collected from March 2019 to June 2019 at the Department of Ophthalmology, Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, and then the patients were followed up for 3 months. One hundred fifty-two complete feature eyes from 100 voluntary patients with ptosis and satisfactory surgical results were selected, with 48 eyes excluded due to any severe condition or improper collection and shooting angle. Three experimental schemes were set as follows: use 2D distance alone, use 3D distance alone, and use two distances at the same time. The five most common evaluation indicators used in the binary classification problem to test the decision model were accuracy (ACC), precision, recall, F1-score, and area under the curve (AUC). Results For diagnostic discrimination, recall of “3D”, “2D” and “Both” schemes were 0.875, 0.875 and 0.938 respectively. And precision of the three schemes were 0.8333, 0.7778 and 1.0000 for the surgical procedure classification. Values of “Both” scheme that combined 2D and 3D data were the highest in two classifications. Conclusions In this study, 3D eye data are introduced into clinical practice to construct a decision model for ptosis surgery. Our decision model presents exceptional prediction effect, especially when 2D and 3D data employed jointly.

Abstract Background To introduce a treatment option: dacryoendoscopy-assisted incision of Hasner’s valve under nasoendoscopy and assess its efficacy in treating membranous congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction (CNLDO) in children older than 1 year with history of initial probing failure. Methods 52 eyes of 43 children with membranous CNLDO who underwent dacryoendoscopy-assisted incision of Hasner’s valve under nasoendoscopy between May 2012 and October 2020 were enrolled in this retrospective study. All participants were older than 1 year and all the eyes had gone through probing at least once but still had symptoms of epiphora and discharge. Surgical success was defined as a normal fluorescein dye disappearance test (FDDT) and the absence of pre-operation complaints, including epiphora, muco-purulent discharge, increased tear lake or the symptoms of acute infection such as acute dacryocystitis. Patients’ demographics, clinical features and follow-up outcomes were evaluated. Results Of all these operated cases, surgical success was achieved in 52/52 eyes without any early or late complications. The overall success rate was 100%. Conclusions Dacryoendoscopy-assisted incision of Hasner’s valve under nasoendoscopy is an effective and minimally invasive surgical treatment in membranous CNLDO patients with initial probing failure.

Abstract Background This study aimed to establish a deep learning system for detecting the active and inactive phases of thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO) using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This system could provide faster, more accurate, and more objective assessments across populations. Methods A total of 160 MRI images of patients with TAO, who visited the Ophthalmology Clinic of the Ninth People’s Hospital, were retrospectively obtained for this study. Of these, 80% were used for training and validation, and 20% were used for testing. The deep learning system, based on deep convolutional neural network, was established to distinguish patients with active phase from those with inactive phase. The accuracy, precision, sensitivity, specificity, F1 score and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve were analyzed. Besides, visualization method was applied to explain the operation of the networks. Results Network A inherited from Visual Geometry Group network. The accuracy, specificity and sensitivity were 0.863±0.055, 0.896±0.042 and 0.750±0.136 respectively. Due to the recurring phenomenon of vanishing gradient during the training process of network A, we added parts of Residual Neural Network to build network B. After modification, network B improved the sensitivity (0.821±0.021) while maintaining a good accuracy (0.855±0.018) and a good specificity (0.865±0.021). Conclusions The deep convolutional neural network could automatically detect the activity of TAO from MRI images with strong robustness, less subjective judgment, and less measurement error. This system could standardize the diagnostic process and speed up the treatment decision making for TAO.

This study was designed to identify differently expressed circular RNAs (circRNAs) and investigate their potential roles in lacrimal sacs from patients with chronic dacryocystitis. The lacrimal sac samples of three chronic dacryocystitis patients and three control subjects were collected for RNA sequencing after ribosomal RNA was depleted. Differently expressed circRNAs and messenger RNAs (mRNAs) were used for co-expression analysis. CircRNA-microRNA (miRNA)-mRNA interaction network were also established by miRanda software. Meanwhile, pathway and functional enrichment analysis were conducted for the down- and up-regulated mRNAs in the circRNA-mRNA co-expression network. The expression levels of circRNAs and mRNAs in chronic dacryocystitis and control samples were validated by quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). In all the 3,909 circRNAs predicted through RNA sequencing, 25 circRNAs (20 up-regulated and 5 down-regulated) expressed differently in chronic dacryocystitis samples. Besides, there identified 1,486 differentially expressed mRNAs. Of these differently expressed circRNAs and mRNAs, eight were validated by qRT-PCR, including MYH2, DSP, CD27, CCL5, FN1, has_circ_0004792, has_circ_0001062, and has_circ_0115476. Gene Ontology (GO) analysis indicated that the majority of altered mRNAs in this co-expression network were involved in immune system processes and meanwhile Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis revealed that these altered expressed mRNAs were also amplified in bacterial invasion of epithelial cells, both of which were thought to be involved in the pathogenesis of chronic dacryocystitis. In the circRNA-miRNA-mRNA interaction network, six circRNAs were found to be related to Th1 and Th2 cell differentiation, which was closely associated with the development of chronic dacryocystitis. This study identified statistically significant differences between circRNAs and mRNAs of lacrimal sac samples of chronic dacryocystitis patients and control individuals and provides novel insight into the regulatory mechanism of circRNAs, miRNAs, and mRNAs in the pathogenesis of chronic dacryocystitis.

Abstract Background Head-mounted displays (HMDs) and virtual reality (VR) have been frequently used in recent years, and a user’s experience and computation efficiency could be assessed by mounting eye-trackers. However, in addition to visually induced motion sickness (VIMS), eye fatigue has increasingly emerged during and after the viewing experience, highlighting the necessity of quantitatively assessment of the detrimental effects. As no measurement method for the eye fatigue caused by HMDs has been widely accepted, we detected parameters related to optometry test. We proposed a novel computational approach for estimation of eye fatigue by providing various verifiable models. Results We implemented three classifications and two regressions to investigate different feature sets, which led to present two valid assessment models for eye fatigue by employing blinking features and eye movement features with the ground truth of indicators for optometry test. Three graded results and one continuous result were provided by each model, respectively, which caused the whole result to be repeatable and comparable. Conclusion We showed differences between VIMS and eye fatigue, and we also presented a new scheme to assess eye fatigue of HMDs users by analysis of parameters of the eye tracker.

Abstract Background There is a growing debate on the relationship between health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and patient survival which has been going on for the last few decades. The greatest wish of clinicians is to extend the latter while improving the former. Following neck dissection of early-stage oral carcinoma, “shoulder syndrome” appears due to traction of the accessory nerve during removal of level IIb, which greatly affects patient quality of life. Since occult metastasis in level IIb of early-stage oral carcinoma is extremely low, some surgeons suggest that level IIb can be exempt from dissection to improve the HRQoL. However, other surgeons take the opposite view, and thus there is no consensus on the necessity of IIb dissection in T1–2N0M0 oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Methods We designed a parallel-group, randomized, non-inferiority trial that is supported by Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, School of Medicine, Shanghai, China. We will enroll 522 patients with early oral carcinoma who match the inclusion criteria, and compare differences in 3-year overall survival, progression–free survival (PFS) and HRQoL under different interventions (retention or dissection of level IIb). The primary endpoints will be tested by means of two-sided log-rank tests. Analysis of overall and progression-free survival will be performed in subgroups that were defined according to stratification factors with the use of univariate Cox analysis. In addition, we will use post-hoc subgroup analyses on the basis of histological factors that were known to have effects on survival, such as death of invasion of the primary tumor. To evaluate HRQoL, we will choose the Constant–Murley scale to measure shoulder function. Discussion Currently, there are no randomized controlled trials with large sample sizes on the necessity of IIB dissection in T1–T2N0M0 OSCC. We designed this noninferiority RCT that combines survival rate and HRQoL to assess the feasibility of IIb neck dissection. The result of this trial may guide clinical practice and change the criteria of how early-stage oral cancer is managed. The balance between survival and HRQoL in this trial is based on early-stage breast cancer treatment and may provide new ideas for other malignancies. PurposeTo examine the effect of prolactin (PRL) on human corneal stromal fibroblasts (CSFs), derived from healthy individuals and from keratoconus (KC) patients, in vitro, specifically assessing physiological and elevated PRL concentrations as apparent during pregnancy.MethodsEye bank corneas of 3 female and 3 male healthy individuals as well as the corneal buttons of 3 female and 3 male KC patients were utilized for this study. The endothelium of the cornea was removed with sterile surgical scalpels, the probes were washed repeatedly with Dulbecco's PBS and corneoscleral rims were trimmed off. Subsequently the corneal stroma was digested with collagenase type I and the harvested CSFs were cultured. We then examined (1) cell proliferation, (2) cell viability and (3) cytokine release of CSFs upon exposure to prolactin in vitro.ResultsWith respect to viability and proliferation our experiments did not show significant differences between CSFs exposed to different PRL concentrations. Our data show a significantly lower IL-8 concentration in normal CSFs exposed to 10ng/ml PRL compared to 0ng/ml and 1000ng/ml at 5 hours post exposition. Moreover, we can report significantly lower secretion of IL-8, IL-6, HGF, VEGF and FGFb in KC CSFs compared to normal CSFs, independent of PRL exposure, as determined by cytokine ELISA.ConclusionOur data in part points towards corneal cytokine secretion as a possible link between altered stromal PRL concentrations and KC progression. However, in our small dataset a significant influence of PRL concentration on cytokine secretion can only be described for IL-8 in normal CSFs. Further our results contribute to existing reports on the importance of cytokines in KC development, with an emphasis on significantly lower cytokine secretion in KC CSFs compared to normal controls.

Objective This study compared the impact of gradual oculomotor training (GOT) in blow-out orbital fracture (BOF) reconstruction recovery with the impact of high-intensity trainings. Methods In total, 120 patients with BOF requiring orbital reconstruction surgery were randomly divided into four groups; all groups performed postoperative oculomotor training four times per day. Patients in Groups 1, 2, 3, and 4 performed 10, 20, 30, and 50 sets of all-direction movement per training on the first 3 days, respectively; they performed 10 additional sets per training on the following 4 days. Patients in all groups performed 50 sets per training from 8 days to 3 months postoperatively. Incision healing, pain, and satisfaction rate, as well as degree of diplopia, were recorded during follow-up. Results At 7 days postoperatively, more patients in Group 1 had no/mild swelling and no/mild pain, compared with patients in Group 4. Patients in Groups 1 and 2 had higher satisfaction rates than patients in Group 4. The degree of diplopia did not significantly differ among the groups. Conclusions For patients with BOF, GOT after reconstruction surgery was more beneficial for wound healing, pain relief, and satisfaction; the degree of diplopia did not significantly differ, compared with high-intensity trainings.

Aim This study used swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) to investigate subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT) in patients with thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO) who displayed different levels of disease activity and severity. Methods Thirty patients with TAO (60 eyes) and 38 healthy controls (67 eyes) in Shanghai, China, were recruited for this study. Disease activity and severity were graded using European Group on Graves' Orbitopathy standardised criteria. SFCT values were determined by SS-OCT. Results In total, 129 eyes were included in the final analysis. The mean SFCT was significantly thicker among patients with active disease (276.23±84.01 pm) than among patients with inactive disease (224.68±111.61 pm; p=0.049) or healthy controls (223.56±78.69 pm; p=0.01). There were no differences in SFCT among patients with moderate-to-severe disease, patients with severe disease and healthy controls (p>0.05). Changes in SFCT demonstrated strong predictive ability to distinguish active TAO from inactive TAO (area under the curve=0.659, 95% CI 0.496 to 0.822). Anti-inflammatory treatment is the primary and vital therapeutic approach for active, moderate-to-severe thyroid eye disease (TED). Accurate pretreatment prediction of treatment response is of paramount importance for the prognosis of patients. However, relying solely on the clinical activity score asa determinant of activity has led to unsatisfactory treatment outcomes. In recent years, significant advancements have been made in identifying predictive markers for anti-inflammatory treatment response in TED, clinical markers, body fluid biomarkers and imaging biomarkers. Several clinical studies have developed prediction models based on these markers. However, there is still a lack of comprehensive elucidation or comparison between the different markers. Therefore, this review aims to provide a detailed analysis of the definition, characteristics, and application of predictive markers for anti-inflammatory treatment response in TED. Through detailed literature search, 26 articles applying anti-inflammatory treatment effect prediction with a total of 1948 TED patients were used for analysis and discussion. By gaining a better understanding of the current research on predictive markers, we can accelerate and guide the exploration of treatment prediction strategies, leading us towards an era of precise therapy for TED.
