The global food market's escalating volatility has led to a complex network of uncertainty and risk transmission across different grain markets. This study utilizes the Time-Varying Parameter Vector Autoregression (TVP-VAR)-Connectedness approach to analyze the price transmission and volatility dynamics of key grains, including wheat, maize, rice, barley, peanut, soybean, and soybean meal, and their dynamic spillover directions, intensity, and network. By integrating the TVP-VAR-Connectedness model, this research captures the time-varying variability and interconnected nature of global grain price movements. The main findings reveal significant spillover effects, particularly in corn prices, with prices of soybean dominating other grains while prices of peanut and corn experience higher external spillover effects from other grains. The conclusions drawn underscore the imperative for policymakers to consider a holistic perspective of all types of grains when addressing global food security, with this study providing valuable insights for risk management in the grain sector at both global level and country level. The photosystem I (PSI) of the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii associates with 10 light-harvesting proteins (LHCIs) to form the PSI-LHCI complex. In the context of state transitions, two LHCII trimers bind to the PSAL, PSAH and PSAO side of PSI to produce the PSI-LHCI-LHCII complex. In this work, we took advantage of chemical crosslinking of proteins in conjunction with mass spectrometry to identify protein–protein interactions between the light-harvesting proteins of PSI and PSII. We detected crosslinks suggesting the binding of LHCBM proteins to the LHCA1-PSAG side of PSI as well as protein–protein interactions of LHCSR3 with LHCA5 and LHCA3. Our data indicate that the binding of LHCII to PSI is more versatile than anticipated and imply that LHCSR3 might be involved in the regulation of excitation energy transfer to the PSI core via LHCA5/LHCA3. The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically challenged urban food systems, has hurt the resilience and fundamental function of urban food systems and also accelerated the trends of digitization and changing preferences of consumers in cities. This research conducted a qualitative analysis of the discourses, actions and interactions of different actors in the urban food systems in China during COVID-19 using an actor-oriented approach and discourse analysis. This research finds that stricter regulations and policies have been implemented by governments to regulate the food supply chain and ensure human health. Local community service personnel, volunteers, stakeholders along the food supply chain and consumers formulated collective actions during the pandemic yet chaos and discourse distortions also emerged at different stages. The pandemic is a preamble to changes in consumers' preferences and food supply chains in urban communities. There were significant structural changes and a dual structure of urban and rural food systems, where unbalanced supply and demand existed. Collective actions with community governance and an innovative food business model to digitize flows and easily adapt to shocks in food systems are required. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Summary: Phosphorylation dynamics of LHCSR3 were investigated in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii by quantitative proteomics and genetic engineering. LHCSR3 protein expression and phosphorylation were induced in high light. Our data revealed synergistic and dynamic N‐terminal LHCSR3 phosphorylation. Phosphorylated and nonphosphorylated LHCSR3 associated with PSII‐LHCII supercomplexes. The phosphorylation status of LHCB4 was closely linked to the phosphorylation of multiple sites at the N‐terminus of LHCSR3, indicating that LHCSR3 phosphorylation may operate as a molecular switch modulating LHCB4 phosphorylation, which in turn is important for PSII‐LHCII disassembly. Notably, LHCSR3 phosphorylation diminished under prolonged high light, which coincided with onset of CEF. Hierarchical clustering of significantly altered proteins revealed similar expression profiles of LHCSR3, CRX, and FNR. This finding indicated the existence of a functional link between LHCSR3 protein abundance and phosphorylation, photosynthetic electron flow, and the oxidative stress response. Significance Statement: We analyzed light‐dependent phosphorylation of LHCSR3 and LHCB4 by quantitative proteomics, genetic engineering, and functional measurements. N‐terminal LHCSR3 phosphorylation is light dependent and modulates phosphorylation of LHCB4 and the association of LHCSR3 with photosynthetic multi‐protein complexes. Developing stimulus-responsive properties of drug delivery nanocarriers combined with enhanced joint lubrication is an effective synergistic strategy for treating osteoarthritis. Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAm) is a typical thermo-responsive polymer, which can achieve drug delivery by transition from swollen state to collapsed state. However, undesired transition temperature, limited drug loading capacity, and weakened mechanical properties in joint present obstacles to use as drug delivery nanocarriers. In this work, we demonstrate dose-effect relationship between the PNIPAm-based copolymer and nanoscale metal-organic frameworks on enhancing both aqueous lubrication and drug delivery performance of a hybrid osteoarthritis (OA) nanocarrier. A series of NIPAm and poly(ethylene glycol)methacrylate (PEGMa) copolymer microgels with different feeding content are optimized to grow on the surface of MIL-101(Cr) nanoparticles via one-pot soap-free emulsion copolymerization method. By changing the feeding mass ratio of NIPAm and PEGMa, MIL-101(Cr)@P(NIPAm-g-PEGMa x ) (x = 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4, named MPNP x ) hybrids can ameliorate the lower critical solution temperature to match with OA and enhance the aqueous lubrication performance. Among the as-synthesized hybrids, MPNP 3 hybrids manifested the notable enhanced thermo-responsive tribological performance due to the synergistic effect of "hydration lubrication" and "ball-bearing" function of the optimized copolymer microgel layer on the surface of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). Anti-inflammatory drug loading is enabled by the high surface area and porosity of the MOFs, and the MPNP 3 drug delivery nanocarriers achieve thermo-responsive release in vitro. In plants, the photosystem I (PSI) core complex stably associates with its light-harvesting chlorophyll a / b complex I (LHCI) to form the PSI-LHCI supercomplex. The vascular plant PSI core complex associates with four distinct LHCI subunits, whereas that of the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii binds nine distinct LHCI subunits (LHCA1-LHCA9). The stoichiometry and configuration of these LHCI subunits in the PSI-LHCI supercomplex of C. reinhardtii remain controversial. Here, we determined the stoichiometry of the nine distinct LHCI subunits relative to PSI subunits through uniform labeling of total proteins using 14 C. We separated the nine LHCI polypeptides by three different sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis systems. Our data revealed that the PSI-LHCI supercomplex contains two LHCA1 proteins and one of each of the other eight LHCI subunits. Subsequently, we identified their cross-linked products by immunodetection and mass spectrometry to determine the configuration of the 10 LHCI subunits within the PSI-LHCI supercomplex. Furthermore, analyses of PSI-LHCI complexes isolated from Δ LHCA2 and Δ LHCA5 mutants and oligomeric LHCI from a PSI-deficient (Δ psaA / B ) mutant provided supporting evidence for the LHCI subunit configuration. In conclusion, eight LHCI subunits bind to the PSI core at the site of PSAF subunit in two layers: LHCA1-LHCA8-LHCA7-LHCA3 from PSAG to PSAK, in the inner layer, and LHCA1-LHCA4-LHCA6-LHCA5 in the outer layer. The other two LHCI subunits, LHCA2 and LHCA9, bind PSAB between PSAG and PSAH, PSAG-LHCA9-LHCA2-PSAH.
