The greater long-tailed hamster is primarily distributed in North Korea, Siberia (Russia), and central and northern China, while the Gansu hamster is restricted to southern Gansu Province, China. The genera Tscherskia and Cansumys have each been considered monotypic. The taxonomic status of these two genera has long been debated, and the specific status of T. ningshaanensis has also been contentious. Researchers have variously treated T. ningshaanensis as a subspecies of either T. triton or Can. canus. In this study, we estimated the phylogeny, divergence times, species delimitation, and biogeographical history of T. ningshaanensis by using one mitochondrial (CYT B) and three nuclear loci (GHR, IRBP, and RAG1) and compared the external and skull morphology variations between T. ningshaanensis and T. triton. The results showed that: 1) The genus Cansumys is a distinct genus in Cricetinae; 2) The notion that the genus Tscherskia is a monotypic genus is unsupported, T. ningshaanensis and T. triton were identified within this genus; and 3) The formation of T. ningshaanensis may have been driven by uplift of the Qinling Mountains. We conclude that T. ningshaanensis is a valid species within the subfamily Cricetinae.

Abstract Background Continuous peripheral nerve blocks are widely used for anesthesia and postoperative analgesia in lower limb surgeries. The authors aimed to develop a novel continuous sacral plexus block procedure for analgesia during total knee arthroplasty. Methods The study comprised two stages. In Stage I, the authors built upon previous theories and technological innovations to develop a novel continuous sacral plexus block method, ultrasound-guided continuous parasacral ischial plane block (UGCPIPB) and subsequently conducted a proof-of-concept study to assess its effectiveness and feasibility. Stage II involved a historical control study to compare clinical outcomes between patients undergoing this new procedure and those receiving the conventional procedure. Results The study observed a 90% success rate in catheter placement. On postoperative day (POD) 1, POD2, and POD3, the median visual analog scale (VAS) scores were 3 (range, 1.5–3.5), 2.5 (1.6–3.2), and 2.7 (1.3–3.4), respectively. Furthermore, 96.3% of the catheters remained in place until POD3, as confirmed by ultrasound. The study revealed a significant increase in skin temperature and peak systolic velocity of the anterior tibial artery on the blocked side compared with those on the non-blocked side. Complications included catheter clogging in one patient and leakage at the insertion site in two patients. In Stage II, the novel technique was found to be more successful than conventional techniques, with a lower catheter displacement rate than the conventional procedure for continuous sciatic nerve block. Conclusion UGCPIPB proved to be an effective procedure and safe for analgesia in total knee arthroplasty. Chinese Clinical Trial Registry Number ChiCTR2300068902.

Abstract For decades, great strides have been made in the field of immunometabolism. A plethora of evidence ranging from basic mechanisms to clinical transformation has gradually embarked on immunometabolism to the center stage of innate and adaptive immunomodulation. Given this, we focus on changes in immunometabolism, a converging series of biochemical events that alters immune cell function, propose the immune roles played by diversified metabolic derivatives and enzymes, emphasize the key metabolism-related checkpoints in distinct immune cell types, and discuss the ongoing and upcoming realities of clinical treatment. It is expected that future research will reduce the current limitations of immunotherapy and provide a positive hand in immune responses to exert a broader therapeutic role.

Background: Although genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified 14 loci associated with frailty index (FI) susceptibility, the underlying causative genes and biological mechanisms remain elusive.Methods: A cross-tissue transcriptome-wide association study (TWAS) was conducted utilizing the Unified Test for Molecular Markers (UTMOST), which integrates GWAS summary statistics from 164,610 individuals of European ancestry and 10,616 Swedish participants, alongside gene expression matrices from the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) Project. Validation of the significant genes was performed through three distinct methods: FUSION, FOCUS, and Multiple Marker Analysis of Genome-wide Annotation (MAGMA). Exploration of tissue and functional enrichment for FI-associated SNPs was conducted using MAGMA. Conditional and joint analyses, along with fine mapping, were employed to enhance our understanding of FI’s genetic architecture. Mendelian randomization was employed to ascertain causal relationships between significant genes and FI, and co-localization analysis was utilized to investigate shared SNPs between significant genes and FI.Results: In this study, two novel susceptibility genes associated with the risk of FI were identified through the application of four TWAS methods. Mendelian randomization demonstrated that HTT may elevate the risk of developing frailty, whereas LRPPRC could offer protection against the onset of frailty. Additionally, co-localization analysis identified a shared SNP between LRPPRC and FI. Tissue enrichment analyses revealed that genomic regions linked to SNPs associated with frailty were predominantly enriched in various brain regions, including the frontal cortex, cerebral cortex, and cerebellar hemispheres. Conditional, combined analyses, and fine mapping collectively identified two genetic regions associated with frailty: 2p21 and 4q16.3. Functional enrichment analyses revealed that the pathways associated with frailty were primarily related to the MHC complex, PD-1 signaling, cognition, inflammatory response to antigenic stimuli, and the production of second messenger molecules.Conclusion: This investigation uncovers two newly identified genes with forecasted expression levels associated with the risk of FI, offering new perspectives on the genetic architecture underlying FI.

This study aims to enhance governmental decision-making by leveraging advanced topic modeling algorithms to analyze public letters on the "People Call Me" online government inquiry platform in Zhejiang Province, China. Employing advanced web scraping techniques, we collected publicly available letter data from Hangzhou City between June 2022 and May 2023. Initial descriptive statistical analyses and text mining were conducted, followed by topic modeling using the BERTopic algorithm. Our findings indicate that public demands are chiefly focused on livelihood security and rights protection, and these demands exhibit a diversity of characteristics. Furthermore, the public's response to significant emergency events demonstrates both sensitivity and deep concern, underlining its pivotal role in government emergency management. This research not only provides a comprehensive landscape of public demands but also validates the efficacy of the BERTopic algorithm for extracting such demands, thereby offering valuable insights to bolster the government's agility and resilience in emergency responses, enhance public services, and modernize social governance.

Abstract Cancer immunotherapy is a major breakthrough in the history of tumor therapy in the last decade. Immune checkpoint inhibitors blocking CTLA-4/B7 or PD-1/PD-L1 pathways have greatly prolonged the survival of patients with different cancers. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are abnormally expressed in tumors and play an important role in tumor immunotherapy through immune regulation and immunotherapy resistance. In this review, we summarized the mechanisms of lncRNAs in regulating gene expression and well-studied immune checkpoint pathways. The crucial regulatory function of immune-related lncRNAs in cancer immunotherapy was also described. Further understanding of the underlying mechanisms of these lncRNAs is of great importance to the development of taking lncRNAs as novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets for immunotherapy.

Summary: Seed plants have evolved a complex root system consisting of at least three root types, i.e., adventitious roots, lateral roots, and the primary root. Auxin is the key hormone that controls the initiation of different root types. Here, we show that protein complexes with different combinations of intermediate-clade WUSCHEL-RELATED HOMEOBOXs (IC-WOXs) and class-A AUXIN RESPONSE FACTORs (A-ARFs) initiate the three root types in Arabidopsis thaliana. In adventitious root founder cells from detached leaves, the WOX11-ARF6/8 complex activates RGF1 INSENSITIVEs (RGIs) and LATERAL ORGAN BOUNDARIES DOMAIN 16 (LBD16) to initiate the adventitious root primordium. In lateral root founder cells, ARF7/19 activate RGIs and LBD16 without IC-WOX to initiate the lateral root primordium. In the primary root founder cell (i.e., hypophysis of an embryo), the WOX9-ARF5 complex initiates the primary root by activation of RGIs. Overall, the WOX-ARF modules show a division of labor to initiate different type of roots.

The morbidity of oral cancer is high in the world. Oridonin is a traditional Chinese medicine that can effectively inhibit oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) growth, but its mechanism remains unclear. Our previous data showed that oridonin inhibited CAL-27 cell proliferation and promoted apoptosis. Herein, we explored the mechanism and target of oridonin in human OSCC through RNA sequencing and integration of multiple bioinformatics analysis strategies. Differences in gene expression can be analyzed with RNA sequencing. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), Gene Ontology (GO), gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA), Disease Ontology (DO), and other enrichment analyses were used to evaluate differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Protein–protein interaction (PPI) networks were built via the STRING database. It was found that tumor necrosis factor (TNF) signaling pathway, cytokine–cytokine receptor interaction, and nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kappaB) signaling pathway were associated with the therapeutic effects of oridonin in OSCC. Three key genes (BIRC3, TNFSF10, and BCL6) were found to associate with cell apoptosis in OSCC cells treated with oridonin. Quantitative PCR assays verified the expression of apoptosis-related DEGs: TNFSF10, BIRC3, AIFM2, BCL6, BCL2L2, and Bax. Western blots were employed for verifying proteins expression associated with DEGs: cleaved caspase 3, Bax, Bcl-w, anti-cIAP2, and anti-TRAIL. In conclusion, our findings reveal the molecular pathways and targets by which oridonin can treat and induce cytotoxic effects in OSCC: by affecting the signaling including TNF, NF-κB, and cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction and by regulating the key gene BIRC3, TNFSF10, and BCL6. It should be noted that further clinical trial validation is very necessary. Combined with current research trends, our existing research may provide innovative research drugs for the treatment of OSCC.

BackgroundSituational judgments tests have been increasingly used to help training programs for the health professions incorporate professionalism attributes into their admissions process. While such tests have strong psychometric properties for testing professional attributes and are feasible to implement in high-volume, high-stakes selection, little is known about constructed-response situational judgment tests and their validity.MethodsWe will conduct a systematic review of primary published or unpublished studies reporting on the association between scores on constructed-response situational judgment tests and scores on other tests that measure personal, interpersonal, or professional attributes in training programs for the health professions. In addition to searching electronic databases, we will contact academics and researchers and undertake backward and forward searching. Two reviewers will independently screen the papers and decide on their inclusion, first based on the titles and abstracts of all citations, and then according to the full texts. Data extraction will be done independently by two reviewers using a data extraction form to chart study details and key findings. Studies will be assessed for the risk of bias and quality by two reviewers using the "Quality In Prognosis Studies" tool. To synthesize evidence, we will test the statistical heterogeneity and conduct a psychometric meta-analysis using a random-effects model. If adequate data are available, we will explore whether the meta-analytic correlation varies across different subgroups (e.g., race, gender).DiscussionThe findings of this study will inform best practices for admission and selection of applicants for training programs for the health professions and encourage further research on constructed-response situational judgment tests, in particular their validity.Trial registrationThe protocol for this systematic review has been registered in PROSPERO [CRD42022314561]. https://www.crd.york.ac.uk/prospero/display_record.php?ID=CRD42022314561.

Abstract Objective In our previous study, tantalum nanoparticle (Ta-NPs) was demonstrated to promote osteoblast proliferation via autophagy induction, but the specific mechanism remains unclear. In the present study, we will explore the potential mechanism. Methods Ta-NPs was characterized by transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering, and BET specific surface area test. MC3T3-E1 were treated with 0 or 20 μg/mL Ta-NPs with or without pretreatment with 10 μM LY294002, Triciribine, Rapamycin (PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway inhibitors) for 1 h respectively. Background: Colon cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the world. FOLFIRI (leucovorin, fluorouracil, and irinotecan) is a common combination in chemotherapy regimens. However, insensitivity to FOLFIRI is an important factor in the effectiveness of the treatment for advanced colon cancer. Our study aimed to explore precise molecular targets associated with chemotherapy responses in colon cancer.Methods: Gene expression profiles of 21 patients with advanced colorectal cancer who received chemotherapy based on FOLFIRI were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. The gene co-expression network was constructed by the weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) and functional gene modules were screened out. Clinical phenotypic correlation analysis was used to identify key gene modules. Gene Ontology and pathway enrichment analysis were used to screen enriched genes in key modules. Protein–protein interaction (PPI) analysis was used to screen out key node genes. Based on the Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA) database, the correlation between the expression levels of these genes and the overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) of colon cancer patients was investigated, and the hub genes were screened out. Immunohistochemistry of candidate hub genes was identified using the Human Protein Atlas database. Finally, clinical information and RNA sequencing data of colon cancer were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas project database (TCGA), the GEPIA, and the Human Atlas databases for validation.Results: The WGCNA revealed that three hub genes were closely related to chemotherapy insensitivity of colon cancer: AEBP1, BGN, and TAGLN. The protein expression levels of AEBP1, BGN, and TAGLN in tumor tissues were higher than those in normal tissues. In addition, the gene expression levels of AEBP1, BGN, and TAGLN were negatively correlated with OS and DFS in colon cancer patients. Therefore, AEBP1, BGN, and TAGLN have been identified as potential biomarkers related to the response to FOLFIRI treatment of colon cancer.Conclusion: We found that AEBP1, BGN, and TAGLN, as potential predictive biomarkers, may play an important role in the response to FOLFIRI treatment of colon cancer and as a precise molecular target associated with chemotherapy response in colon cancer.

IntroductionCognitive impairment has been identified in patients with non-central nervous system cancer received chemotherapy. Chemotherapy-induced changes in the brain are considered as the possible causes of the cognitive deficits of patients. This study aimed to explore chemotherapy-related functional brain changes and cognitive impairment in rectal cancer (RC) patients who had just finished chemotherapy treatment.MethodsIn this study, RC patients after chemotherapy (on the day patients received the last dose of chemotherapy) (n=30) and matched healthy controls (HCs) (n=30) underwent cognitive assessments, structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and resting-state functional MRI. The functional brain networks were constructed by thresholding the partial correlation matrices of 90 brain regions in the Anatomical Automatic Labeling template and the topologic properties were evaluated by graph theory analysis. Moreover, correlations between altered topological measures and scores of cognitive scales were explored in the patient group.ResultsCompared with HCs, RC patients had lower scores of cognitive scales. The functional brain network had preserved small-world topological features but with a tendency towards higher path length in the whole network. In addition, patients had decreased nodal global efficiency (Eglo(i)) in the left superior frontal gyrus (dorsolateral), superior frontal gyrus (orbital part), inferior frontal gyrus (opercular part), inferior frontal gyrus (triangular part) and right inferior frontal gyrus (triangular part). Moreover, values of Eglo(i) in the superior and inferior frontal gyrus were positively associated with cognitive function in the patient group.ConclusionThese results suggested that cognitive impairment was associated with disruptions of the topological organization in functional brain networks of RC patients who had just finished chemotherapy, which provided new insights into the pathophysiology underlying acute effects of chemotherapy on cognitive function.

Abstract Two‐dimensional (2D) van der Waals heterostructure (vdWH)‐based floating gate devices show great potential for next‐generation nonvolatile and multilevel data storage memory. However, high program voltage induced substantial energy consumption, which is one of the primary concerns, hinders their applications in low‐energy‐consumption artificial synapses for neuromorphic computing. In this study, we demonstrate a three‐terminal floating gate device based on the vdWH of tin disulfide (SnS2), hexagonal boron nitride (h‐BN), and few‐layer graphene. The large electron affinity of SnS2 facilitates a significant reduction in the program voltage of the device by lowering the hole‐injection barrier across h‐BN. Our floating gate device, as a nonvolatile multilevel electronic memory, exhibits large on/off current ratio (~105), good retention (over 104 s), and robust endurance (over 1000 cycles). Moreover, it can function as an artificial synapse to emulate basic synaptic functions. Further, low energy consumption down to ~7 picojoule (pJ) can be achieved owing to the small program voltage. IntroductionChemotherapy-induced cognitive impairment (i.e., “chemobrain”) is a common neurotoxic side-effect experienced by many cancer survivors who undergone chemotherapy. However, the central mechanism underlying chemotherapy-related cognitive impairment is still unclear. The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes of intrinsic brain activity and their associations with cognitive impairment in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients after chemotherapy.MethodsResting‐state functional magnetic resonance imaging data of 29 CRC patients following chemotherapy and 29 matched healthy controls (HCs) were collected in this study, as well as cognitive test data including Mini Mental State Exam (MMSE), Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Cognitive Function (FACT-Cog). The measure of fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (fALFF) was calculated and compared between groups. The correlations between the fALFF of impaired brain region and cognitive performance were also analyzed.ResultsCompared with HCs, CRC patients following chemotherapy showed decreased fALFF values in the left anterior cingulate gyrus (ACG) and middle frontal gyrus, as well as increased fALFF values in the left superior frontal gyrus (orbital part) and middle occipital gyrus. Moreover, positive associations were identified between fALFF values of the left ACG and the total scores of MMSE, MoCA and FACT-Cog in the patient group.ConclusionThese findings indicated that CRC patients after chemotherapy had decreased intrinsic brain activity in the left ACG, which might be vulnerable to the neurotoxic side-effect of chemotherapeutic drugs and related to chemotherapy-induced cognitive impairment.

Arsenopyrite (FeAsS) is a typical gold-bearing sulfide mineral. It usually encapsulates the gold particles and seriously inhibits the leaching of gold, so oxidation pretreatment of arsenopyrite is prerequired for the effective leaching of gold. However, the oxidation of arsenopyrite is accompanied by arsenic mobility, potentially resulting in serious environmental issues. An eco-friendly oxidant, δ-MnO2, was herein used to effectively oxidize arsenopyrite and control the fate of arsenic under acidic conditions. Via characterization of the variation of leaching parameters, morphology change, and elemental speciation transformation on the mineral surface, it was found that adding δ-MnO2 significantly provoked the oxidation of Fe(II) and As(−I) to Fe(III) and As(V), and mediated the speciation transformation of Fe/As to FeAsO4. δ-MnO2 dosage remarkably controlled the oxidation efficiency of arsenopyrite and arsenic speciation transformation, efficiently regulating arsenic fate. These results suggest that δ-MnO2 could simultaneously promote the dissolution of arsenopyrite and the immobilization of arsenic, which could have implications for the oxidation pretreatment of refractory gold minerals and the source management of arsenic-contaminated environments.

Abstract Emulation of advanced synaptic functions of the human brain with electronic devices contributes an important step toward constructing high‐efficiency neuromorphic systems. Ferroelectric materials are promising candidates as synaptic weight elements in neural network hardware due to their controllable polarization states. However, the increased depolarization field at the nanoscale and the complex fabrication process of the traditional ferroelectric materials hamper the development of high‐density, low‐power, and highly sensitive synaptic devices. Here, we report the implementation of two‐dimensional (2D) ferroelectric α‐In2Se3 as an active channel material to emulate typical synaptic functions. The α‐In2Se3‐based synaptic device features multimode operations, enabled by the coupled ferroelectric polarization under various voltage pulses applied at both drain and gate terminals. Moreover, the energy consumption can be reduced to ~ 1 pJ by using high‐κ dielectric (Al2O3). The successful control of ferroelectric polarizations in α‐In2Se3 and its application in artificial synapses are expected to inspire the implementation of 2D ferroelectric materials for future neuromorphic systems.

IntroductionSome previous studies in patients with lung cancer have mainly focused on exploring the cognitive dysfunction and deficits of brain function associated with chemotherapy. However, little is known about functional brain alterations that might occur prior to chemotherapy. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate brain functional changes in patients with nonchemotherapy before chemotherapy with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).MethodsResting-state functional MRI data of 35 patients with NSCLC and 46 matched healthy controls (HCs) were acquired to construct functional brain networks. Graph theoretical analysis was then applied to investigate the differences of the network and nodal measures between groups. Finally, the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was performed to distinguish between NSCLC and HC.ResultsDecreased nodal strength was found in the left inferior frontal gyrus (opercular part), inferior frontal gyrus (triangular part), inferior occipital gyrus, and right inferior frontal gyrus (triangular part) of patients with NSCLC while increased nodal strength was found in the right pallidum and thalamus. NSCLC also showed decreased nodal betweenness in the right superior occipital gyrus. Different hub regions distribution was found between groups, however, no hub regions showed group differences in the nodal measures. Furthermore, the ROC curve analysis showed good performance in distinguishing NSCLC from HC.ConclusionThese results suggested that topological abnormalities of pallido-thalamo-cortical circuit in functional brain network might be related to NSCLC prior to chemotherapy, which provided new insights concerning the pathophysiological mechanisms of NSCLC and could serve as promising biological markers for the identification of patients with NSCLC.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has spread worldwide and become the world’s leading health concern. Individuals are advised to stay inside and do exercise at home to avoid exposure to the disease and their psychological state is concerned. This study aims to investigate physical exercise behavior and psychological states during COVID-19, and to provide helpful suggestions for making right policies or designing effective intervention programs to help the mass respond to the pandemic. Methods: we tested the hypotheses by conducting a national survey among 542 individuals, the data covered 28 provinces in China. Information about physical exercise habits, psychological states, perceived infection likelihood, perceived threat, attitudes towards exercise, and demographics was collected. A series of T-tests were applied to test the hypotheses. Results: The individuals who do exercise both before and during COVID-19 outbreak increased the physical exercise frequency and reduced the categories of physical activities during COVID-19. Individuals who perceive high-level threat increased future exercise time and consumption, whereas individuals surrounded by more confirmed cases (high-level objective threat) increased current exercise frequency and intensity. With the company of family members, individuals’ exercise intention, frequency, intensity and the possibility of future exercise time and activities was significantly higher. Conclusion: Under the threat of COVID-19, proximal defense (self-preservation) and distal defense (self-esteem enhancement) motivate individuals to increase exercise frequency. Individuals reduce types of physical activities and do exercise with family members to receive psychological security. Abstract Background There is no widely accepted standard medical treatment for apocrine gland anal sac adenocarcinoma (AGASACA) in dogs. Targeted agents such as toceranib may be effective in treatment of AGASACA, but the number of clinical reports investigating its efficacy is limited. Hypothesis/Aim To evaluate the efficacy of toceranib treatment of AGASACA in dogs, and to assess prognostic factors in the study population. Our hypothesis was that toceranib would provide a clinical benefit in the treatment of dogs with AGASACA. Animals Thirty‐six client‐owned dogs with either a cytologic or histologic diagnosis of AGASACA that were treated with toceranib alone or in combination with surgery, nonconcurrent chemotherapy or both. Methods Retrospective study. Result The median progression‐free survival (PFS) and overall survival time (OST) for the study population was 313 days and 827 days, respectively. A clinical benefit from toceranib treatment was observed in 69% of dogs, with 20.7% of dogs experiencing partial response and 48.3% of dogs experiencing stable disease. Dogs that responded to toceranib treatment had significantly prolonged PFS and OST. Hypercalcemia was a negative prognostic factor for clinical outcomes. Conclusions Toceranib is effective in the treatment of AGASACA in dogs. Prospective, controlled clinical trials are needed to determine the efficacy of toceranib in comparison to other treatment protocols for dogs with AGASACA.

Arsenic often coexists with metal sulfide minerals and occurs in different speciation and different toxicity in responding to Fe/S biooxidation. The differential inhibitive effects and fates of As(III) and As(V) during biooxidations of elemental sulfur (S0), ferrous ions (Fe2+) and pyrite (FeS2) by Sulfobacillus thermosulfidooxidans were studied. The results revealed that the arsenic species hardly changed for the biooxidation of S0, but dramatically changed for the biooxidation of Fe2+ and FeS2. Different transformation degree between As(III) and As(V) occurred for biooxidation of FeS2 in the presence of arsenic, where about 72% of As(III) was transformed to As(V) for the group with As(III) added, and 16% of As(V) was transformed to As(III) for that with As(V) added. Both formation and dissolution of amorphous ferric arsenate occurred during biooxidation of FeS2 with the addition of As(III) or As(V) and for the group grown on Fe2+ with added As(V), which were controlled by the changes of Fe/As molar ratio and pH value in the solution. Jarosite was detected for the group grown on Fe2+ and could adsorb As(III) and As(V). The inhibitive effects of As(V) were higher than As(III) when the strain grew on FeS2, which was contrary to those when the strain grew on S0 and Fe2+. The above results signify that the fates and inhibitive effects of arsenic are much related to each other, and such a relationship is significantly affected by the utilization of Fe/S energy substrates by the sulfur- and ferrous-oxidizing microorganisms.

Radiotherapy is known to influence immune function, including T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire. We evaluated the TCR repertoire before and after stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for stage I non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and explored correlations between TCR indexes and distant failure after SBRT. TCR repertoires were analyzed in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) collected before and after SBRT from 19 patients. TCR combinational diversity in V and J genes was assessed with multiplex PCR of genomic DNA from PBMCs and tested for associations with clinical response. All patients received definitive SBRT to a biologically effective dose of >=100 Gy. The number of unique TCR clones was decreased after SBRT versus before, but clonality and the Shannon Entropy did not change. Four patients (21%) developed distant metastases after SBRT (median 7 months); those patients had lower Shannon Entropy in post-SBRT samples than patients without metastasis. Patients with a low change in Shannon Entropy from before to after SBRT [(post-SBRT Shannon Entropy minus baseline Shannon)/(baseline Shannon) * 100] had poorer metastasis-free survival than those with high change in Shannon Entropy (P

Many transition-metal-oxide-based catalysts have been investigated to chemically bind soluble lithium polysulfides and accelerate their redox kinetics in lithium-sulfur (Li-S) battery chemistry. However, the intrinsic poor electrical conductivities of these oxides restrict their catalytic performance, consequently limiting the sulfur utilization and the rate performance of Li-S batteries. Herein, we report a freestanding electrocatalytic sulfur host consisting of hydrogen-treated VO2 nanoparticles (H-VO2) anchored on nitrogen-doped carbonized bacterial cellulose aerogels (N-CBC). The hydrogen treatment enables the formation and stabilization of the rutile VO2(R) phase with metallic conductivity at room temperature, significantly enhancing its catalytic capability compared to the as-synthesized insulative VO2(M) phase. Several measurements characterize the electrocatalytic performance of this unique H-VO2@N-CBC structure. In particular, the two kinetic barriers between S8, polysulfides, and Li2S are largely reduced by 28.2 and 43.3 kJ/mol, respectively. Accordingly, the Li-S battery performance, in terms of sulfur utilization and charge/discharge rate, is greatly improved. This work suggests an effective strategy to develop conductive catalysts based on a typical transition metal oxide (VO2) for Li-S batteries.

We analyzed whole-genome bisulfite sequencing (WGBS) and RNA sequencing data of two young (1 year old) and two adult (9 years old) rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) to characterize the genomic DNA methylation profile of the thymus and explore the molecular mechanism of age-related changes in the thymus. Combining the two-omics data, we identified correlations between DNA methylation and gene expression and found that DNA methylation played an essential role in the functional changes of the aging thymus, especially in immunity and coagulation. The hypomethylation levels of C3 and C5AR2 and the hypermethylation level of C7 may lead to the high expressions of these genes in adult rhesus macaque thymuses, thus activating the classical complement pathway and the alternative pathway and enhancing their innate immune function. Adult thymuses had an enhanced coagulation pathway, which may have resulted from the hypomethylation and upregulated expressions of seven coagulation-promoting factor genes (F13A1, CLEC4D, CLEC4E, FCN3, PDGFRA, FGF2 and FGF7) and the hypomethylation and low expression of CPB2 to inhibit the degradation of blood clots. Furthermore, the functional decline in differentiation, activation and maturation of T cells in adult thymuses was also closely related to the changes in methylation levels and gene expression levels of T cell development genes (CD3G, GAD2, ADAMDEC1 and LCK) and the thymogenic hormone gene TMPO. A comparison of the age-related methylated genes among four mammal species revealed that most of the epigenetic clocks were species-specific. Furthermore, based on the genomic landscape of allele-specific DNA methylation, we identified several age-related clustered sequence-dependent allele-specific DNA methylated (cS-ASM) genes. Overall, these DNA methylation patterns may also help to assist with understanding the mechanisms of the aging thymus with the epigenome.

Summary: Bub1 is required for the kinetochore/centromere localization of two essential mitotic kinases Plk1 and Aurora B. Surprisingly, stable depletion of Bub1 by ∼95% in human cells marginally affects whole chromosome segregation fidelity. We show that CENP-U, which is recruited to kinetochores by the CENP-P and CENP-Q subunits of the CENP-O complex, is required to prevent chromosome mis-segregation in Bub1-depleted cells. Mechanistically, Bub1 and CENP-U redundantly recruit Plk1 to kinetochores to stabilize kinetochore-microtubule attachments, thereby ensuring accurate chromosome segregation. Furthermore, unlike its budding yeast homolog, the CENP-O complex does not regulate centromeric localization of Aurora B. Consistently, depletion of Bub1 or CENP-U sensitizes cells to the inhibition of Plk1 but not Aurora B kinase activity. Taken together, our findings provide mechanistic insight into the regulation of kinetochore function, which may have implications for targeted treatment of cancer cells with mutations perturbing kinetochore recruitment of Plk1 by Bub1 or the CENP-O complex.

Motor stereotypic behaviors (MSBs) are common in captive rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) and human with psychiatric diseases. However, large gaps remain in our understanding of the molecular mechanisms that mediate this behavior and whether there are similarities between human and non-human primates that exhibit this behavior, especially at gene expression and gut microbiota levels. The present study combined behavior, blood transcriptome, and gut microbiota data of two groups of captive macaques to explore this issue (i.e., MSB macaques with high MSB exhibition and those with low: control macaques). Observation data showed that MSB macaques spent the most time on MSB (33.95%), while the CONTROL macaques allocated more time to active (30.99%) and general behavior (30.0%), and only 0.97% of their time for MSB. Blood transcriptome analysis revealed 382 differentially expressed genes between the two groups, with 339 upregulated genes significantly enriched in inflammation/immune response-related pathway. We also identified upregulated pro-inflammatory genes TNFRSF1A, IL1R1, and IL6R. Protein–protein interaction network analysis screened nine hub genes that were all related to innate immune response, and our transcriptomic results were highly similar to findings in human psychiatric disorders. We found that there were significant differences in the beta-diversity of gut microbiota between MSB and CONTROL macaques. Of which Phascolarctobacterium, the producer of short chain fatty acids (SCFAs), was less abundant in MSB macaques. Meanwhile, PICRUSTs predicted that SCFAs intermediates biosynthesis and metabolic pathways were significantly downregulated in MSB macaques. Together, our study revealed that the behavioral, gene expression levels, and gut microbiota composition in MSB macaques was different to controls, and MSB was closely linked with inflammation and immune response. This work provides valuable information for future in-depth investigation of MSB and human psychiatric diseases.

Spontaneous type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) macaques are valuable resources for our understanding the pathological mechanism of T2DM. Based on one month’s fasting blood glucose survey, we identified seven spontaneous T2DM macaques and five impaired glucose regulation (IGR) macaques from 1408 captive individuals. FPG, HbA1c, FPI and IR values were significant higher in T2DM and IGR than in controls. 16S rRNA sequencing of fecal microbes showed the significantly greater abundance of Oribacterium, bacteria inhibiting the production of secondary bile acids, and Phascolarctobacterium, bacteria producing short-chain fatty acids was significantly lower in T2DM macaques. In addition, several opportunistic pathogens, such as Mogibacterium and Kocuria were significantly more abundant in both T2DM and IGR macaques. Fecal metabolites analysis based on UHPLC-MS identified 50 differential metabolites (DMs) between T2DM and controls, and 26 DMs between IGR and controls. The DMs were significantly enriched in the bile acids metabolism, fatty acids metabolism and amino acids metabolism pathways. Combining results from physiochemical parameters, microbiota and metabolomics, we demonstrate that the imbalance of gut microbial community leading to the dysfunction of glucose, bile acids, fatty acids and amino acids metabolism may contribute to the hyperglycaemia in macaques, and suggest several microbes and metabolites are potential biomarkers for T2DM and IGR macaques.

Abstract Background Recent studies reported that blood-based microRNAs (miRNAs) could detect cancers and predict prognosis have opened a new field of utilizing circulating miRNAs as cancer biomarkers. In this pilot study, we conducted for the first time, to our knowledge, the evaluation of the applicability of salivary miRNAs as novel biomarkers for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) detection. Methods Microarray miRNA expression profiling was performed on saliva samples from 22 newly diagnosed NPC patients and 25 healthy controls, and 12 significantly down-regulated miRNAs were selected for quantitative real-time-PCR (qRT-PCR) validation and further analysis. Their target genes enriched by gene ontology and pathway analysis were used to construct regulatory and interaction networks. The receiver operating characteristic analyses (ROC) and logistic regression were calculated to assess discriminatory accuracy. Results Twelve dysregulated miRNAs screened by microarray that showed the same expression patterns with qRT-PCR analysis. Through bioinformatics analysis, the most prominent hub gene probably regulated by the 12 down-regulated miRNAs is found to be TP53. The ROC including the 12 miRNAs separated NPC patients from healthy controls with very high accuracy (areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve [AUC] = 0.999, sensitivity = 100.00%, specificity = 96.00%). Furthermore, if only six significantly dysregulated miRNAs were selected for the ROC analysis, the accuracy is still impressive (AUC = 0.941, sensitivity = 95.45%, specificity = 80.00%). Conclusions This study highlights the potential for salivary miRNAs as biomarkers for the detection of NPC. Meanwhile, differentially expressed miRNAs in saliva might play critical roles in NPC by regulating their target genes, which associated with some significant pathways, such as p53 signaling pathway.

Abstract Background Therapeutic vaccines against cervical cancer remain ineffective. Previously, we demonstrated that blocking the signalling of a cytokine, interleukin 10, at the time of immunisation elicited significantly higher numbers of antigen specific T cells and inhibited tumour growth in mice. Results In the current paper, we demonstrate, in a HPV16 E6/E7 transformed TC-1 tumour mouse model, that despite increased antigen specific T cell numbers, blocking IL-10 signalling at the time of immunisation does not increase the survival time of the TC-1 tumour bearing mice compared to mice receiving the same immunisation with no IL-10 signalling blockade. Moreover, the function of tumour infiltrating T cells isolated 3 weeks post TC-1 transplantation is more suppressed than those isolated 2 weeks after tumour inoculation. We demonstrate that synthesized caerin peptides, derived from amphibian skin secretions, 1) were able to inhibit TC-1 tumour growth both in vitro and in vivo; 2) are environmentally stable; and 3) promote the secretion of pro-inflammatory interlukine-6 by TC-1 cells. Notably caerin peptides were able to increase the survival time of TC-1 tumour bearing mice after therapeutic vaccination with a HPV16E7 peptide-based vaccine containing IL-10 inhibitor, via recruiting increased levels of T cells to the tumour site. Conclusion Caerin peptides increase the efficacy of a therapeutic vaccine by recruiting more T cells to the tumour site.

Objective Tongue squamous cell carcinoma is one of the most common oral tumors. Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection has been proposed as a risk factor for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, particularly oropharyngeal squamous carcinoma. Methods In this study, we retrospectively analyzed HPV infection in 121 Chinese patients with tongue squamous cell carcinoma in Guangdong Province. Polymerase chain reaction of HPV DNA and immunohistochemistry staining of p16 protein were used to identify the presence of HPV in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded samples. Results HPV DNA was detected in 15.7% (n = 19) of tongue squamous cell carcinoma patients, with HPV16 being the most common type (n = 8, 42.1%). p16 staining did not correlate with detection of HPV DNA. Male sex was associated with HPV-positive tongue squamous cell carcinoma, whereas there were no significant differences in alcohol consumption, smoking, or age when tumors were stratified by HPV. Conclusion Our study showed that HPV infection contributed to tongue squamous cell carcinoma in a small cohort of patients in Guangdong Province, China. Further investigation is needed to confirm whether HPV is a causal factor for tongue squamous cell carcinoma.

To study the mechanical properties of frozen soil, it is necessary to understand the damage characteristics of frozen soil. Four types of three-dimensional indoor tests of frozen sand were carried out at −5°C, −10°C, and −15°C to study the mechanical damage properties. These include different stress path tests with the principal stress coefficients of 0, 0.25, 0.5, and 0.75 while analyzing the entire failure process. First, the three-dimensional compression test of frozen sand was studied to analyze the influence of temperature and intermediate principal stress coefficient on the large principal stress of frozen soil. The damage cost of frozen sand under the influence of different temperatures and intermediate principal stress coefficients was also established. Second, using the characteristics of discreteness and randomness of the distribution of the microelements inside the frozen soil and assuming that the failure of the microelement of the frozen soil obeys the Weibull distribution, the Drucker–Prager strength criterion was used as the statistical distribution variable of the microelement of the frozen soil based on the strain equivalence hypothesis, statistical theory, and continuous damage mechanics. This allows for a constitutive model of frozen sand damage under the three-dimensional stress state to be established. Finally, the model parameter values through low-temperature three-dimensional test data were able to be determined. This model allows for the physical meaning of Weibull distribution parameters F0 and m to be analyzed, and the distribution parameters with temperature and intermediate principal stress coefficient can be modified to obtain a modified frozen sand damage constitutive model. The results show that the modified damage constitutive model can simulate the entire process curve of the large principal stress-strain of frozen sand. It shows that the large principal stress of frozen sand increases with the increase of temperature and intermediate principal stress coefficient. Concurrently, the frozen sand damage constitutive model proposed in this paper can describe the deformation behavior of frozen soil under different temperature and stress paths and can be adapted to various other sediment types.

Genital warts are one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases worldwide. The disease is a result of infection with low-risk types of human papillomaviruses, mostly type 6 and 11. Current therapies for genital warts are mainly ablative, or alternatively topical application of imiquimod cream and sinecatechin (polyphenon E) ointment to the warts. However, low patient compliance and high recurrence rate are significant problems for the treatment of genital warts by imiquimod and ablative therapies. We summarise recent literature in this area and propose combining imiquimod with other therapies to increase the efficacy of imiquimod.

Summary: Yin yang 1 (YY1) is a ubiquitous transcription factor and mammalian polycomb group protein (PcG) with important functions to regulate embryonic development, lineage differentiation, and cell proliferation. YY1 mediates stable PcG-dependent transcriptional repression via recruitment of PcG proteins that catalyze histone modifications. Many questions remain unanswered regarding how cell- and tissue-specificity is achieved by PcG proteins. Here, we demonstrate that a conditional knockout of Yy1 in hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) decreases long-term repopulating activity and ectopic YY1 expression expands HSCs. Although the YY1 PcG domain is required for Igκ chain rearrangement in B cells, the YY1 mutant lacking the PcG domain retained the capacity to stimulate HSC self-renewal. YY1 deficiency deregulated the genetic network governing HSC cell proliferation and impaired stem cell factor/c-Kit signaling, disrupting mechanisms conferring HSC quiescence. These results reveal a mechanism for how a ubiquitously expressed transcriptional repressor mediates lineage-specific functions to control adult hematopoiesis.

Abstract Background Cancer therapeutic vaccine induced cytotoxic T cell (CTL) responses are pivotal for the killing of tumour cells. Blocking interleukin 10 (IL-10) signalling at the time of immunization increases vaccine induced CTL responses and improves prevention of tumour growth in animal models compared to immunization without an IL-10 signalling blockade. Therefore, this immunization strategy may have potential to curtail cancer in a clinical setting. However, IL-10 deficiency leads to autoimmune disease in the gut. Blocking IL-10 at the time of immunization may result in unwanted side effects, especially immune-pathological diseases in the intestine. Methods We investigated whether blocking IL-10 at the time of immunization results in intestinal inflammation responses in a mouse TC-1 tumour model and in a NOD autoimmune disease prone mouse model. Results We now show that blocking IL-10 at the time of immunization increases IL-10 production by CD4+ T cells in the spleen and draining lymph nodes, and does not result in blood cell infiltration to the intestines leading to intestinal pathological changes. Moreover, immunization with papillomavirus like particles combined with simultaneously blocking IL-10 signalling does not increase the incidence of autoimmune disease in Non-obese diabetic (NOD) mice. Conclusions Our results indicate that immunization with an IL-10 inhibitor may facilitate the generation of safe, effective therapeutic vaccines against chronic viral infection and cancer.

Blocking cytokine interleukin 10 (IL-10) at the time of immunisation enhances vaccine induced T cell responses and improves control of tumour cell growth in vivo. However, the effect of an IL-10 blockade on the biological function of macrophages has not been explored. In the current paper, a macrophage precursor cell line, U937 cells, was selected to investigate the differential expression of proteins and relevant cell signalling pathway changes, when stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in the presence of antibodies to IL-10 or IL-10 receptor. We used a quantitative proteomic strategy to investigate variations in protein profiles of U937 cells following the treatments with LPS, LPS plus human anti-IL10 antibody and anti-IL10R antibody in 24hrs, respectively. The LPS treatment significantly activated actin-related cell matrix formation and immune response pathways. The addition of anti-IL10 and anti-IL10R antibody further promoted the immune response and potentially effect macrophage survival through PI3K/AKT signalling; however, the latter appeared to also upregulated oncogene XRCC5 and Cajal body associated processes.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) related tumours account for a significant proportion of head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCCs) in developed countries. They respond better to chemo- and radio-therapy, and have a better stage specific prognosis. To establish their prevalence in China, we assessed a series of histology confirmed HNSCCs collected in Zhejiang and Guangdong provinces by PCR for HPV DNA and by immunohistochemistry for p16 protein status. Among 303 HNSCCs, HPV DNA was detected in 26.4%, with HPV16 DNA in 71% of these. Of HNSCC located in the oropharynx, 38.55% (32/83) were HPV+ve. In this series, p16 status was a relatively poor predictor of HPV status as detected by PCR. The stage specific survival time of HPV+ HNSCCs was significantly longer than for HPV- HNSCC. HPV status should be assessed for oropharyngeal cancers in China to assist with appropriate management, and prophylaxis against HPV infection should be considered to reduce the incidence of this disease.

The adsorption of cysteine on the pyrite (1 0 0) surface was evaluated by using first-principles-based density functional theory (DFT) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurements. The frontier orbitals analyses indicate that the interaction of cysteine and pyrite mainly occurs between HOMO of cysteine and LUMO of pyrite. The adsorption energy calculation shows that the configuration of the -OH of -COOH adsorbed on the Fe site is the thermodynamically preferred adsorption configuration, and it is the strongest ionic bond according to the Mulliken bond populations. As for Fe site mode, the electrons are found transferred from cysteine to Fe of pyrite (1 0 0) surface, while there is little or no electron transfer for S site mode. Projected density of states (PDOS) is analyzed further in order to clarify the interaction mechanism between cysteine and the pyrite (1 0 0) surface. After that, the presence of cysteine adsorption on the pyrite (1 0 0) surface is indicated by the qualitative results of the XPS spectra. This study provides an alternative way to enhance the knowledge of microbe–mineral interactions and find a route to improve the rate of bioleaching.

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been identified as oncogenes or tumor suppressors that are involved in tumorigenesis and chemotherapy drug resistance. Maternally expressed gene 3 (MEG3) is an imprinted gene located at 14q32 that encodes an lncRNA, and decreased MEG3 expression plays an important role in multiple cancers. However, its biological role in the development of the chemoresistance phenotype of human lung adenocarcinoma (LAD) is unknown. This study aimed to observe the expression of MEG3 in LAD and to evaluate its biological role and clinical significance in the resistance of LAD cells to cisplatin. MEG3 expression was markedly decreased in cisplatin-resistant A549/DDP cells compared with parental A549 cells as shown by an lncRNA microarray. MEG3 overexpression in A549/DDP cells increased their chemosensitivity to cisplatin both in vitro and in vivo by inhibiting cell proliferation and inducing apoptosis. By contrast, MEG3 knockdown in A549 cells decreased the chemosensitivity. Moreover, MEG3 was decreased in cisplatin-insensitive LAD tissues while p53 protein levels were decreased and Bcl-xl protein levels increased. Furthermore, patients with lower levels of MEG3 expression showed worse responses to cisplatin-based chemotherapy. These findings demonstrate that MEG3 is significantly downregulated in LAD and partially regulates the cisplatin resistance of LAD cells through the control of p53 and Bcl-xl expression. Thus, MEG3 may represent a new marker of poor response to cisplatin and could be a potential therapeutic target for LAD chemotherapy.

BACKGROUND: The nervous system in songbirds is an accessible system for studying vocal learning and memory in vertebrates. In the song system, the anterior forebrain pathway (AFP) is essential for song learning and the vocal motor pathway (VMP) is necessary for song production. The premotor robust nucleus of the arcopallium (RA) located in the VMP receives input from the AFP. The RA receives dopaminergic innervations from the periaqueductal gray and ventral tegmental area-substantia nigra pars compacta, but the physiological functions of this projection remain unclear. In this study, we investigated the effects of dopamine (DA) on the excitability of projection neurons (PNs) in the RA. METHODOLOGY: We recorded the electrophysiological changes from neurons in brain slices of male adult zebra finches using a whole-cell recording technique. CONCLUSIONS/SIGNIFICANCE: We found that DA significantly increased the excitability of RA PNs. Furthermore, a D1-like receptor agonist increased the excitability of RA PNs, and a D1-like receptor antagonist suppressed the excitability induced by DA. However, a D2-like receptor agonist had no effect on the excitability of RA PNs. Moreover, the D2-like receptor agonist did not change the excitability induced by the D1 receptor agonist. These findings suggest that DA can significantly increase the excitability of RA PNs and that D1 receptors play the main role in regulating the excitability of RA PNs in response to DA, thereby providing direct evidence toward understanding the mechanism of DA signal mediation by its receptors to modulate the excitability of RA PNs.

The song of zebra finch is stable in life after it was learned successfully. Vocal plasticity is thought to be a motor exploration that can support continuous learning and optimization of performance. The activity of RA, an important pre-motor nucleus in songbird’s brain, influences the song directly. This variability in adult birdsong is associated with the activity of NMDA receptors in LMAN-RA synapses, but the detailed mechanism is unclear. The control of gain refers to modulation of a neuron's responsiveness to input and is critically important for normal sensory, cognitive, and motor functions. Here, we observed the change of gain in RA projection neurons after exogenous NMDA was applied to activate NMDA receptors using the whole-cell current clamp recording. We found that NMDA substantially increased the slope (gain) of the firing rate-current relationship in RA projection neurons. The AMPA receptor-dependent excitability played a crucial role in the modulation of gain by NMDA. These results suggested that NMDA receptors may regulate the dynamics of RA projection neurons by input-output gain.

Ying Yang 1 (YY1) is a multifunctional Polycomb Group (PcG) transcription factor that binds to multiple enhancer binding sites in the immunoglobulin (Ig) loci and plays vital roles in early B cell development. PcG proteins have important functions in hematopoietic stem cell renewal and YY1 is the only mammalian PcG protein with DNA binding specificity. Conditional knock-out of YY1 in the mouse B cell lineage results in arrest at the pro-B cell stage, and dosage effects have been observed at various YY1 expression levels. To investigate the impact of elevated YY1 expression on hematopoetic development, we utilized a mouse in vivo bone marrow reconstitution system. We found that mouse bone marrow cells expressing elevated levels of YY1 exhibited a selective disadvantage as they progressed from hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells to pro-B, pre-B, immature B and re-circulating B cell stages, but no disadvantage of YY1 over-expression was observed in myeloid lineage cells. Furthermore, mouse bone marrow cells expressing elevated levels of YY1 displayed enrichment for cells with surface markers characteristic of long-term hematopoietic stem cells (HSC). YY1 expression induced apoptosis in mouse B cell lines in vitro, and resulted in down-regulated expression of anti-apoptotic genes Bcl-xl and NFκB2, while no impact was observed in a mouse myeloid line. B cell apoptosis and LT-HSC enrichment induced by YY1 suggest that novel strategies to induce YY1 expression could have beneficial effects in the treatment of B lineage malignancies while preserving normal HSCs.

In this paper, the preparation technique of lavender essential oil microcapsules and the construction method of aromatic textiles were expounded, and the research status of bed curtains and lavender microcapsules at home and abroad was analyzed and studied from the perspective of application in textiles. The application of lavender essential oil to bed curtains through the microcapsule technique was put forward to allow lavender essential oil to play its role of helping sleep in bed curtains. This paper expounded the material selection and preparation technique of lavender microcapsule agents, and put forward the preparation method of microcapsules with mixed solutions of pure Chinese medicine extracts and natural essences as core material and high-viscosity epoxy resin as wall materials. The post-processing techniques and the spray ironing method for clothing were studied and developed, and these techniques and methods were applied to bed curtains, and good results were obtained.
