Abstract

The Beck Youth Inventory for Children and Adolescents-Second Edition (BYI-II) is the most current version of a widely used instrument across a variety of settings with both clinical and nonclinical clients ages 7-18 years as a self-report measure of anxiety, depression, anger, disruptive behavior, and self-concept. This synthesis of 17 studies from 2005 through 2022 using the BYI-U resulted in aggregated internal consistency of.88-.96 across the five subscales. Convergent validity comparisons were very limited, and no test-retest reliability, diagnostic validity, or structural validity studies were located, lntrascale analysis indicated the Depression and the Anxiety subscales yielded the strongest correlation (r = .73). Implications for counseling practice and research are discussed, including use of the multifaceted BYI-U for screening and outcome research with youths. Abstract

Spiky/hollow metal nanoparticles have applications across a broad range of fields. However, current bottom-up methods to produce spiky/hollow metal nanoparticles rely heavily on the use of strongly adsorbing surfactant molecules, which is undesirable since these passivate the product particle surfaces. Here we report a high-yield surfactant-free synthesis of spiky hollow Au-Ag nanostars (SHAANs). Each SHAAN is composed of more than 50 spikes attached to a hollow ca. 150 nm diameter cubic core, which makes SHAANs highly plasmonically and catalytically active. Moreover, the surfaces of SHAANs are chemically exposed which gives them significantly enhanced functionality compared to their surfactant-capped counterparts, as demonstrated in surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) and catalysis. The chemical accessibility of the pristine SHAANs also allows the use of hydroxyethyl cellulose as a weakly-bound stabilizing agent. This produces colloidal SHAANs which remain stable for more than 1 month while retaining the functionalities of the pristine particles and allow even single-particle SERS to be realized., Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures, supplementary information

Abstract

BACKGROUND. The tumor immune microenvironment can provide prognostic and therapeutic information. We aimed to develop noninvasive imaging biomarkers from computed tomography (CT) for comprehensive evaluation of immune context and investigate their associations with prognosis and immunotherapy response in gastric cancer (GC). METHODS. This study involved 2,600 patients with GC from 9 independent cohorts. We developed and validated 2 CT imaging biomarkers (lymphoid radiomics score [LRS] and myeloid radiomics score [MRS]) for evaluating the IHC-derived lymphoid and myeloid immune context respectively, and integrated them into a combined imaging biomarker [LRS/MRS: low(-) or high(+)] with 4 radiomics immune subtypes: 1 (-/-), 2 (+/-), 3 (-/+), and 4 (+/+). We further evaluated the imaging biomarkers' predictive values on prognosis and immunotherapy response. RESULTS. The developed imaging biomarkers (LRS and MRS) had a high accuracy in predicting lymphoid (AUC range: 0.765-0.773) and myeloid (AUC range: 0.736-0.750) immune context. Further, similar to the IHC-derived immune context, 2 imaging biomarkers (HR range: 0.240-0.761 for LRS; 1.301-4.012 for MRS) and the combined biomarker were independent predictors for disease-free and overall survival in the training and all validation cohorts (all P < 0.05). Additionally, patients with high LRS or low MRS may benefit more from immunotherapy (P < 0.001). Further, a highly heterogeneous outcome on objective response rate was observed in 4 imaging subtypes: 1 (-/-) with 27.3%, 2 (+/-) with 53.3%, 3 (-/+) with 10.2%, and 4 (+/+) with 30.0% (P < 0.0001). CONCLUSION. 46. SERS Detection of Hg2+ using Rhenium Carbonyl Labelled Nanoparticle Films

Abstract

Modified silver nanoparticles with a self‐assembled disulfide functionalized 2,2'‐bipyridine (L1 and L2) monolayer, and the corresponding rhenium complex [Re(L2)(CO)3Br] are shown to provide a method to position the nanoparticles at a water/dichloromethane interface forming a lustrous metal‐like‐liquid film (MeLLF) with a unique SERS response. The film formed using L2 showed divergent behaviour in the presence of a range of metal ions whilst bound to the surface. [Re(L)(CO)3Br] (where L=2,2'‐bipyridine, L1 and L2) in solution demonstrates a selective interaction with Hg2+, observed by UV‐vis, emission and 1H NMR spectroscopy, attributed to abstraction of the bromide. This interaction was demonstrated by subtle changes in the characteristic Raman Re‐CO stretch at 510 cm−1 both with the MeLLF, and when the film is immobilized in a PVA surface‐exposed‐nano‐sheet (SENS). The work provides proof of concept that the organometallic complexes can be employed as “labels” to generate SERS‐active nanoparticle films that possess detection capabilities.
