Abstract

MXene aerogels with a porous microstructure are a promising electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding material due to its low density and excellent electrical conductivity, which has attracted widespread attention. Compared with traditional EMI shielding materials that rely on reflection as the primary mechanism, MXene aerogels with absorption as the dominant mechanism have greater potential for development as a novel EMI shielding material because of its ability to reduce environmental contamination from reflected electromagnetic (EM) waves from materials. In this study, a novel Ti3C2Tx MXene/PEDOT:PSS hybrid aerogel was presented by freeze-drying and thermal annealing using few-layered Ti3C2Tx MXene and the conductive polymer poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS). PEDOT:PSS not only improved the gelling ability of Ti3C2Tx but also successfully established a conductive bridge between MXene nanosheets. The experimental results demonstrated that the hybrid aerogel exhibited an obvious porous microstructure, which was beneficial for the multiple scattering of EM waves within the materials. The EMI shielding effectiveness and specific shielding effectiveness reached up to 59 dB and 10,841 dB·cm2·g-1, respectively, while the SER/SET ratio value was only 0.05, indicating superior wave absorption performance. Furthermore, the good impedance matching, due to the electrical conductance loss and polarization loss effect of the composites, plays a critical role in their excellent wave absorption and EMI shielding performance. Therefore, this work provides a practical approach for designing and fabricating lightweight absorption-dominated EMI shielding materials.

4. A Multifunctional Fluorescent Probe Based on 1,8-Naphthalimide for the Detection of Co 2+ , F − , and CN −.

Abstract

Cations and anions are indispensable resources for the development of nature and modern industry and agriculture, and exploring more efficient technology to monitor them is urgently needed. A multifunctional fluorescent probe based on 1,8-naphthalimide, N-(2-thiophenhydrazide)acetyl-4-morpholine-1,8-naphthalimide (TMN), was successfully designed and synthesized for the detection of Co2+, F−, and CN−, with N-carboxymethyl-4-morpholine-1,8-naphthalimide and thiophene-2-carbohydrazide as starting materials. TMN displayed superior stability in MeCN with an "on–off" mode towards Co2+, F−, and CN− by the naked eye. The linear response ranges of TMN were 0–3 and 4–19 μM with a detection limit of 0.21 μM for detecting Co2+, 0–5 and 5–22 μM with a detection limit of 0.36 μM for F−, and 0–10 and 10–25 μM with a detection limit of 0.49 μM for CN−. TMN could also recognize Co2+, F−, and CN− in real samples. Finally, the possible sensing mechanisms of TMN for detecting Co2+, F−, and CN− were deeply investigated. These results implied that TMN could be a potential chemosensor for monitoring metal cations and anions sensitively and selectively and could be used in real sample detection. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Structural stability, electronic, and optical properties of InN under high pressure are studied using the first-principles calculations. The lattice constants and electronic band structure are found consistent with the available experimental and theoretical values. The pressure of the wurtzite-to-rocksalt structural transition is 13.4 GPa, which is in an excellent agreement with the most recent experimental values. The optical characteristics reproduce the experimental data thus justifying the feasibility of our theoretical predictions of the optical properties of InN at high pressures.

Abstract

PURPOSE: To evaluate the possibility of repairing anterior palatal fistula using abundant self dermic graft with subdermal vascular rete. METHODS: Twenty-one patients with anterior palatal fistula one year after cleft palate repair were selected. The diameters of the fistula 0.5cmx0.6cm to 1.0cmx1.5cm. The peripheral tissue flap was prepared and sutured as nasal layer, and the exposed wound surface was covered by free graft with subdermal vascular plexus, while the exposed surface to the oral cavity was protected with tela iodoformiata. RESULTS: Except for 3 patients in whom the iodoform gauze fell off which led to dissolution of exposed dermis, the remaining patients had an excellent restoration of the fistula, with a recurrent rate of 14.2%. CONCLUSSION: The use of dermic tissue with subdermal vascular rate is reliable to repair anterior palatal fistula. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
