Cold shock proteins (CSPs) are DNA/RNA binding proteins with crucial regulatory roles in plant growth, development, and stress responses. In this study, we employed bioinformatics tools to identify and analyze the physicochemical properties, conserved domains, gene structure, phylogenetic relationships, cis-acting elements, subcellular localization, and expression patterns of the cotton CSP gene family. A total of 62 CSP proteins were identified across four cotton varieties (Gossypium arboreum, Gossypium raimondii, Gossypium barbadense, Gossypium hirsutum) and five plant varieties (Arabidopsis thaliana, Brassica chinensis, Camellia sinensis, Triticum aestivum, and Oryza sativa). Phylogenetic analysis categorized cotton CSP proteins into three evolutionary branches, revealing similar gene structures and motif distributions within each branch. Analysis of gene structural domains highlighted the conserved CSD and CCHC domains across all cotton CSP families. Subcellular localization predictions indicated predominant nuclear localization for CSPs. Examination of cis-elements in gene promoters revealed a variety of elements responsive to growth, development, light response, hormones, and abiotic stresses, suggesting the potential regulation of the cotton CSP family by different hormones and their involvement in diverse stress responses. RT-qPCR results suggested that GhCSP.A1, GhCSP.A2, GhCSP.A3, and GhCSP.A7 may play roles in cotton's response to low-temperature stress. In conclusion, our findings underscore the significant role of the CSP gene family in cotton's response to low-temperature stress, providing a foundational basis for further investigations into the functional aspects and molecular mechanisms of cotton's response to low temperatures. Summary: Here, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) growing on the Ni2P@carbon (Ni2P@C/CNTs) was prepared by Ni‐MOFs as a precursor through pyrolysis combined with phosphorization strategy. As lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) anode, the as‐prepared Ni2P@C/CNTs presented an outstanding initial discharge capacity (652 mA h g−1) and reversible capacity (442 mA h g−1) after 300 cycles at 0.2 A g−1. The capacity still maintained 252 mA h g−1 at the current density of 1 A g−1. The porous carbon and CNTs growing on carbon spheres enhanced the electrochemical conductivity of the sample, restricted the volume and structural deformation of Ni2P during the discharge/charging process, provided more paths for the movements of Li+ ions/electrons and enlarged the area for electrolyte/Ni2P active materials contacting each other. The results demonstrated that the prominent performances of Ni2P@C/CNTs were ascribed to structural design and paved the way to design other transition metal phosphides‐based anode materials with desired electrochemical performance. Objective To explore the efficacy of nourishing qi (NouQ) and activating blood (ActB) herbal combination at different ratios on diastolic heart failure (DHF) rats by targeting calcium homeastasis. Methods DHF rats were induced by abdominal aortic constriction and grouped into NouQ (AM + CP), NouQ vs ActB = 1:1 (AM + CP vs SM + PP = 1:1), or NouQ vs ActB = 2:1 (AM + CP vs SM + PP = 2:1). Heart function, hemodynamics, cardiomyocytic shortening and calcium transient were measured after 4/12 weeks of treatment. CaMK II, protein kinase A (PKA) and their responding phosphorylation proteins PLB T17 and PLB S16 were examined by using Western blot assay. Results Although all NouQ + ActB groups showed improvements on diastolic function (lower end-diastolic left ventricular pressure (LVEDP) at resting status; shorter time to 50% relaxation of cardiomyocytes) and systolic function (shorter time to 50% contraction of cardiomyocytes), only NouQ vs ActB = 2:1 group decreased E/e ratio, LVEDP under exercise stress and reversed LV remodeling (lower LV anterior wall thickness and LV posterior wall thickness). At cellular level, all treatment groups showed shorter time to 50% contraction, shorter time to 50% relaxation, shorter time to 50% Ca2+ release and reduction of CaMK II expression; all NouQ + ActB treatment groups illustrated additional effects on inhibiting PKA overexpression, but only 2:1 group illustrated shorter time to 50% Ca2+ uptake and reversed hypo-phosphorylation of PLB S16. Conclusion The combination of NouQ herbs (AM + CP) and ActB herbs (SM + PP) at a ratio of 2:1 have a better therapeutic effect than that of a ratio of 1:1 and NouQ herbs on DHF, and this effect may work through regulating Ca2+ handling. In this report, the porous Fe3O4/C nanocomposites were successfully synthesized by using ferrocene as raw material and dilute nitric acid as solvent via extremely convenient and low-cost one-step calcining method. The formation of porous structure resulted from the aggregation and assembly of numerous nanoparticles. The experimental results show that the crystallinities, morphologies and electrochemical performance of samples were affected by the calcining temperature and carbon content. As an anode for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), the Fe3O4/C nanocomposites obtained at calcination temperature of 500∘C (Fe3O4/C-a500) exhibited remarkable initial specific discharge capacity of 1418 mA h g − 1 and a reversible capacity retention of 721 mA h g − 1 after 100 cycles at the current density of 100 mA g − 1 . The excellent properties can be attributed to the high theoretical capacity of Fe3O4, the high conductivity of carbon and especially the porous structure, which offered more sites for the storage and insertion of Li ions. Even at the current density of 1000 mA h g − 1 , the reversible capacity of Fe3O4/C-a500 can be up to 291 mA h g − 1 , indicating the prepared typical nanocomposite presented excellent electrochemical performances and lithium storage capacity, which may be a promising candidate as the anode material for LIBs. The porous Fe3O4/C nanocomposite is successfully synthesized via extremely convenient and low-cost one-step calcining method. The calcination temperature and carbon content play the key role in morphology and properties.
