Primary leiomyosarcoma of the fallopian tube (PLFT) is an extremely rare gynecological malignancy that has only been described in case reports. Fertility‐sparing treatment for PLFT has not been reported previously. A 24‐year‐old nulligravida woman was diagnosed with stage IC1 PLFT in the right fallopian tube after experiencing right lower quadrant pain for 2 weeks. She underwent laparoscopic right salpingectomy to preserve fertility followed by adjuvant chemotherapy with gemcitabine/docetaxel. She subsequently became pregnant spontaneously, delivering a term baby 27 months after treatment. This appears to be the only report of the use of fertility‐preserving treatment for PLFT. Summary: Aerated emulsions formulated with vegetable oils have been widely consumed with health demands of tea‐based drinks and coffee. In comparison with its traditional counterparts consisting of 30%–40% of fats, that is, whipping creams, the aerated emulsions containing less than 20% vegetable oils are classified as low fat‐cream‐like products and popular with consumers preferring fat‐reduced foods. However, unstable whipping capabilities are the typical quality defects of these low fat‐emulsions, which is highly related with partial coalescence of fat globules. In the present study, effects of unsaturation degree and fatty acid species of fat matrix on whipping capabilities of the aerated emulsions were evaluated by analysing crystal networks, partial coalescence behaviours, whipping performance, and foam structure and stabilities. Increase of fat unsaturation from 10% to 30% improved fat crystal structure and partial coalescence significantly. In particular, 10%–15% of medium chain‐fatty acids present in the emulsions with 30% unsaturated fats tended to crystallise into well‐packed thicker crystals, and to exhibit the highest partial coalescence rate with nearly 60% of solid fat content at whipping temperature. Both the fat species and unsaturation contributed to forming smooth appearance and desirable foam networks after whipping. In contrast, further increase in unsaturation resulted in significant reduction of adsorbed proteins, contributing to excessive aggregation of fat globules. Therefore, it presented negative effects on partial coalescence as well as foam firmness and stabilities. Introduction: Although the association between nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and vitamin C has been well studied, the effects of dietary potassium intake on this relationship are still unclear. Thus, this study aimed to determine the effects of dietary potassium intake on the association between vitamin C and NAFLD. Methods: We performed a cross-sectional learn about with 9443 contributors the usage of 2007–2018 NHANES data. The extent and forms of seismic damage vary with the tunnel depth range, according to which seismic measures should be designed. A seismic buffer of expanded polystyrene geofoam that is widely applied in retaining walls may be wrapped around the tunnel lining to improve the seismic performance. In this study, seismic buffer thicknesses are recommended based on pairs of displacement patterns (DPs) and stress patterns (SPs) in the linings. They were determined using three-dimensional displacement direction cosines and a stress-space-transformed Mohr–Coulomb criterion. Using raw data from numerical models, four displacement forms (DFs) related to practical seismic damage in four lining domains are presented, with a group of DFs denoting a DP and a group of failure statuses denoting an SP. The results demonstrate that without a buffer, at most depths, the four domains are in a composite DF denoting a perilous DP I and are in failure SP I. As the buffer thickens, the linings are gradually mitigated to lower-risk DP and SP II as well as DP and SP III, depending on whether the buffer thickness is appropriate for a certain tunnel depth. As the core area of human activities and economic development in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region, the hilly oasis zone of Xinjiang directly affects the regional sustainable development and stability of the ecosystem. Understanding the effects of different geomorphic types on vegetation distribution is crucial for maintaining vegetation growth and development, especially the improvement in the terrestrial ecological environment in arid areas under the background of climate change. However, there are few studies on the effect of spatial differences in detailed geomorphic types on vegetation distribution patterns. Therefore, this paper divides the Xinjiang hilly oasis zone into six geomorphologic level zones and innovatively investigates the influence of detailed geomorphologic types on the spatial distribution of vegetation and vegetation cover. Further, the area proportion of detailed landform types corresponding to different vegetation coverage in each geomorphic area was quantitatively calculated. Finally, the Geodetector method was used to detect the drivers of interactions between vegetation and the environment. The findings are shown as follows: (1) In the same climate zone, the spatial differentiation of landforms has a great influence on the vegetation distribution, manifesting as the significantly different vegetation distribution in different landform types. Grassland is the main vegetation type in the erosion and denudation of Nakayama; cultivated vegetation and meadows have a larger coverage in the alluvial flood plain and alluvial plain; and the distribution of vegetation in the Tianshan economic zone is characterized by obvious vertical zoning with the geomorphology. (2) The landform type and morphological types are the strongest driving factors for vegetation coverage with q values of 0.433 and 0.295, respectively, which effectually fill the gap caused by only using two terrain indicators, slope and elevation, to study the relationship between landforms and vegetation. (3) In addition, the improved nonlinear interaction resulting from the double factor of landform type and slope is 0.486, which has a stronger control on vegetation coverage than the single factor of landform type. These findings are conducive to enhancing the supply services of vegetation to the ecosystem in arid areas as well as providing important scientific guidance for the construction of ecological civilization and sustainable development in Xinjiang. Objectives: Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a common complaint in patients undergoing hemodialysis (HD). Despite the fact that the estimated prevalence of RLS among HD patients is widely reported, these results varied significantly in the relevant literature. Due to this limitation, the aim of this study was to determine the global prevalence of RLS among HD patients. Methods: This systematic review was conducted and reported in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐analyses 2020 statement. We searched the electronic databases: Cochrane Library, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Scopus, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, China Knowledge Resource Integrated Database, Wanfang Database, Chinese Biomedical Database, and Weipu Database. A random effects model was employed to calculate pooled prevalence rates. Results: The global pooled prevalence of RLS in HD patients was 27.2% (95% CI: 24.8–29.7). Stratified analyses demonstrated that included studies with sample size <100 had the highest pooled prevalence of RLS. The prevalence of RLS using clinical interviews and questionnaires was 28.7% (95% CI: 25.2–32.2) and 25.9% (95% CI: 22.8–29.1), respectively. RLS prevalence is higher in females (29.7%, 95% CI: 26.2–33.2) HD patients than in males (23.5%, 95% CI: 20.9–26.0), and the African region has the highest prevalence in the world when the diagnostic criteria were restricted to the 2003 version of International RLS Study Group criteria, the prevalence of RLS was highest (28.9%, 95% CI: 25.9–31.9). Conclusion: Our results revealed a high RLS prevalence in HD patients worldwide. Background: Gadolinium-enhanced cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) is the most widely used approach for diagnosing myocardial fibrosis with late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) in cardiomyopathy associated with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Given the limitations and safety of gadolinium use, we wanted to develop and evaluate multi-parametric pre-contrast CMR models for the diagnosis of LGE and investigate whether they could be utilised as surrogates for LGE in DMD patients. Methods: A total of 136 DMD patients were prospectively recruited and separated into LGE − and LGE + groups. In the first subset of patients (derivation cohort), regression models for the diagnosis of LGE were built by logistic regression using pre-contrast sequence parameters. In a validation cohort of other patients, the models' performances were evaluated. Results: EF, native T1 and longitudinal strain alone, as well as their combinations form seven models. The model that included EF, native T1 and longitudinal strain had the best diagnostic value, but there was no significant difference in diagnostic accuracy among the other models except EF. In the validation cohort, the diagnosis outcomes of models were moderate consistent with the existence of LGE. The longitudinal strain outperformed the other models in terms of diagnostic value (sensitivity: 83.33%, specificity: 54.55%). Conclusions: Pre-contrast sequences have a moderate predictive value for LGE. Thus, pre-contrast parameters may be considered only in a specific subset of DMD patients who cannot cooperate for long-time examinations and have contradiction of contrast agent to help predict the presence of LGE. The attribute network not only has a complex topology, but its nodes also contain rich attribute information. Attribute network embedding methods extract both network topology and node attribute information to learn low-dimensional embedding of large attribute networks, which are of great importance for network analysis. In this paper, we propose attribute network joint embedding based on global attention (GAJE). First, GAJE uses the structure information of the attribute network to obtain the structure embedding vectors of nodes. Second, we propose a global attention method to obtain the attribute embedding vectors of nodes. This method captures the relationships of different attributes within and between nodes through convolutional neural networks and attention mechanisms, respectively. Finally, GAJE concatenates the structure embedding vectors and the attribute embedding vectors to obtain the final joint embedding vectors which simultaneously reflects the network structure and attributes information. For link prediction and node classification, we compared GAJE with nine well-known network embedding methods in four real datasets. The experimental results show that the algorithm has good attribute network embedding effects. Background. The prevalence of adolescent depression is continuously increasing, impacting the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral development of adolescents. Therefore, it is crucial to comprehend depression from the perspective of the social ecosystem, necessitating further empirical evaluation. Methods. This study utilized a case-control study design. The cases consisted of adolescents with depression (aged 13–18 years) admitted to a psychiatric hospital in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China, from November 2021 to July 2022, meeting the diagnostic criteria for depression in the 11th Edition of the International Classification of Diseases. Control group students, with a matching gender ratio in the same region, were randomly recruited. Logistic regression analysis was employed to investigate the factors associated with depression, with gender and age as covariates. Results. The study comprised 200 participants, with 44 (22.0%) males and 156 (78.0%) females. Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that increased adolescent depression was associated with being an only child (AOR = 2.680 , 95% CI: 1.106–6.492), living in urban areas (AOR = 3.324 , 95% CI: 1.077–10.267), experiencing school bullying (AOR = 9.087 , 95% CI: 2.044–40.408), having severe family dysfunction (AOR = 6.491 , 95% CI: 1.109–37.995), and possessing low core self-evaluation (AOR = 11.746 , 95% CI: 3.305–41.746). Odds ratios for each factor were statistically significant. Conclusions. Our results improve the evidence for associations between adolescent depression and core self-evaluation, school bullying, family function, living in urban areas, and being an only child. Background: The role of dendritic cells and the autophagy state of dendritic cells in the immune response of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection was still controversial. In this study, we carefully examined the phenotype, function and autophagy pathway of dendritic cells in HBV infection. Methods: Monocyte-derived dendritic cells from healthy blood donors and patients with chronic HBV infection were stimulated by lipopolysaccharide, supernatant of HepG2.2.15 cells or supernatant of HepG2 cells respectively. Phenotype of dendritic cells was examined by flow cytometry and cytokines secretion was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Autophagy related proteins were detected by western blot and immunofluorescence analysis. Results: Our results showed that the expression of both major histocompatibility complex II molecules and co-stimulated molecules including cluster of differentiation antigen 80, cluster of differentiation antigen 86 in the monocyte-derived dendritic cells from patients with chronic HBV infection was significantly higher than that from healthy donors when cultured with supernatant of HepG2.2.15 cells. The amount of cytokines, including tumour necrosis factor-α, interleukin-10 and interleukin-12, secreted by monocyte-derived dendritic cells from patients with chronic HBV infection was also significantly higher than that from healthy donors when stimulate by HBV. Interestingly, the expression level of autophagy-related proteins including autophagy-related protein5 and associated protein 1 light chain in dendritic cells from patients with chronic HBV infection was significantly increased when compared with that from healthy donors when re-exposed to HBV. Conclusions: Our results indicated that dendritic cells from patients with chronic HBV infection could intensively present antigen and express co-stimulatory molecules. Methylobacterium species, the representative bacteria distributed in phyllosphere region of plants, often synthesize carotenoids to resist harmful UV radiations. Methylobacterium extorquens is known to produce a carotenoid pigment and recent research revealed that this carotenoid has a C30 backbone. However, its exact structure remains unknown. In the present study, the carotenoid produced by M. extorquens AM1 was isolated and its structure was determined as 4-[2-O-11Z-octadecenoyl-β-glucopyranosyl]-4,4'-diapolycopenedioc acid (1), a glycosylated C30 carotenoid. Furthermore, the genes related to the C30 carotenoid synthesis were investigated. Squalene, the precursor of the C30 carotenoid, is synthesized by the co-occurrence of META1p1815, META1p1816 and META1p1817. Further overexpression of the genes related to squalene synthesis improved the titer of carotenoid 1. By using gene deletion and gene complementation experiments, the glycosyltransferase META1p3663 and acyltransferase META1p3664 were firstly confirmed to catalyze the tailoring steps from 4,4'- diapolycopene-4,4'-dioic acid to carotenoid 1. In conclusion, the structure and biosynthetic genes of carotenoid 1 produced by M. extorquens AM1 were firstly characterized in this work, which shed lights on engineering M. extorquens AM1 for producing carotenoid 1 in high yield. Background: Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a neuromuscular disease characterised by progressive muscular weakness and atrophy. Currently, studies on DMD muscle function mostly focus on individual muscles; little is known regarding the effect of gluteal muscle group damage on motor function. Objective: To explore potential imaging biomarkers of hip and pelvic muscle groups for measuring muscular fat replacement and inflammatory oedema in DMD with multimodal quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Materials and methods: One hundred fifty-nine DMD boys and 32 healthy male controls were prospectively included. All subjects underwent MRI examination of the hip and pelvic muscles with T1 mapping, T2 mapping and Dixon sequences. Quantitatively measured parameters included longitudinal relaxation time (T1), transverse relaxation time (T2) and fat fraction. Investigations were all based on hip and pelvic muscle groups covering flexors, extensors, adductors and abductors. The North Star Ambulatory Assessment and stair climbing tests were used to measure motor function in DMD. Results: T1 of the extensors (r = 0.720, P < 0.01), flexors (r = 0.558, P < 0.01) and abductors (r = 0.697, P < 0.001) were positively correlated with the North Star Ambulatory Assessment score. In contrast, T2 of the adductors (r = -0.711, P < 0.01) and fat fraction of the extensors (r = -0.753, P < 0.01) were negatively correlated with the North Star Ambulatory Assessment score. Among them, T1 of the abductors (b = 0.013, t = 2.052, P = 0.042), T2 of the adductors (b = -0.234, t = -2.554, P = 0.012) and fat fraction of the extensors (b = -0.637, t = − 4.096, P < 0.001) significantly affected the North Star Ambulatory Assessment score. Moreover, T1 of the abductors was highly predictive for identifying motor dysfunction in DMD, with an area under the curve of 0.925. Conclusion: Magnetic resonance biomarkers of hip and pelvic muscle groups (particularly T1 values of the abductor muscles) have the potential to be used as independent risk factors for motor dysfunction in DMD. We used the Integrated Biological Responses version 2 (IBRv2) method to evaluate the biological effects of heavy metals in the sediments in Laizhou Bay, China on the benthic goby Acanthogobius ommaturus. In December 2018, gobies and sediments were collected from 15 stations. We measured the activities of defense enzymes and the contents of malondialdehyde (MDA) and metallothionein (MT) in the goby liver as well as the levels of heavy metals in the sediments and goby muscle tissue. Most of the heavy metal concentrations in sediment at each station were below the Class I criteria set by Chinese Standards for Marine Sediment Quality, and the Håkanson ecological risk index suggested low risk for the heavy metals. We found that A. ommaturus could effectively accumulate mercury, cadmium, arsenic, and zinc and that the contents of MT and MDA and the activities of glutathione peroxidase and glutathione reductase were suitable biomarkers of heavy metal pollution in this species. The IBRv2 method integrated these four biomarkers and discriminated stations according to heavy metal pollution. Higher IBRv2 values suggested more adverse effects in gobies, corroborating more serious heavy metal contamination. The stations with high IBRv2 values and high contents of heavy metals were mainly distributed in the west and northeast parts of the bay. These results show that the IBRv2 approach is a feasible strategy for assessing heavy metal pollution through biological response and biological status and that it can be implemented for environmental monitoring in Laizhou Bay. [Display omitted] Cyclodextrin (CD) can spontaneously build up the solid particle membrane with CD-oil inclusion complexes (ICs) by a self-assembly process. Sodium casein (SC) is expected to preferentially adsorb at the interface to transform the type of interfacial film. The high-pressure homogenization can increase interfacial contact opportunities of the components, which promote the phase transition of the interfacial film. We added SC by sequential and simultaneous orders to mediate the assembly model of the CD-based films, examined the patterns in which the films adopt phase transitions to retard emulsion flocculation, and studied the physic-chemical properties of the emulsions and films from the structural arrest, interface tension, interfacial rheology, linear rheology, and nonlinear viscoelasticities through Fourier transform (FT)-rheology and Lissajous-Bowditch plots. The interfacial and large amplitude oscillatory shear (LAOS) rheological results showed that the films changed from jammed to unjammed. We divide the unjammed films into two types: one is SC dominated liquid-like film, which is fragile and related to droplet coalescence; the other is cohesive SC-CD film, which helps droplet rearrangement and retards droplet flocculation. Radial clearance critically affects journal bearing performance, specifically the lubrication performance. This study investigates the lubrication characteristics of a journal bearing with adjustable radial clearance and compares the dynamic behavior of the bearing under laminar and turbulent flow regimes. The adjustable bearing exhibits two states of oil film pressure at different radial clearances. When the radial clearance is reduced from 100%cr to 80%cr, the oil film pressure is present only on the lower bearing bush; after being reduced to 70%cr, the upper bearing bush achieves effective lubrication; and after reduction from 70%cr to 30%cr, the oil film pressure increases more than six-fold. The turbulent flow model of the clearance adjustable bearing is then established considering the lubricant flow state, and the turbulence correction factors for different flow states are calculated. The journal bearing exhibits better lubrication characteristics under laminar than under turbulent flow conditions, and in some operating conditions, the stable velocity range calculated according to laminar flow theory may become unstable in turbulent flow conditions. Therefore, applying turbulence assumptions to design the operating speed range of rotating machinery under such conditions yields a greater safety threshold, which can reduce the risk of instability. The stability of the rotor bearing system is closely related to the radial clearance, and reducing the radial clearance will improve the stability of the system. In the turbulent flow state, the oil film pressure changes drastically, thus reducing the system stability. Moreover, the larger the radial clearance of the bearing, the more prominent the turbulence effect. Ricin is one of the most toxic proteins known, which has been listed as both chemical and biological warfare agent due to its unique properties. Rapid and sensitive method capable of detecting and distinguishing activity of the whole ricin has very important realistic significance in view of national security and defense. This study reports a reliable surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)‐based sandwich immunoassay for the detection and differentiation of active ricin from other homologous toxins. In the immunoassay design, magnetic bead conjugated with a monoclonal antibody (mAb) MIL50 that can recognize the ricin in its holotoxin form was used as a capture probe to separate ricin from complex matrix, whereas both Raman reporter molecule Nile blue A (NBA) and ricin‐specific mAb 14C12 were modified on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) to form SERS nanoprobes. In the presence of ricin, SERS nanoprobes bound to the antigen‐captured magnetic beads and formed a sandwich immunocomplex to produce specific hot spots and then generated highly sensitive signals. As a result, the whole ricin could be detected as low as 1 and 5 ng/ml in phosphate‐buffered saline (PBS) and in plasma, respectively. Not only active and inactive ricin can be discriminated distinctly but also ricin from other type II ribosome‐inactivating proteins and their agglutinins. Furthermore, the proposed method made an application to practical samples from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) biotoxin exercise test, proving this SERS‐based sandwich immunoassay a promising assay for timely response of ricin‐related risk assessment in terrorist event and human intoxication. As SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern (VOC) reduce the effectiveness of existing anti-COVID therapeutics, it is increasingly critical to identify highly potent neutralizing antibodies (nAbs) that bind to conserved regions across multiple variants, especially beta, delta, and omicron variants. Using single-cell sequencing with biochemical methods and pseudo-typed virus neutralization experiments, here we report the characterization of a potent nAb BD-218, identified from an early screen of patients recovering from the original virus. We have determined the cryo-EM structure of the BD-218/spike protein complex to define its epitope in detail, which revealed that BD-218 interacts with a novel epitope on the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the spike protein. Background: Previous researches on large animal models of diabetic cardiomyopathy were insufficient. The aim of this study was to evaluate early changes in left ventricular (LV) function and morphology in diabetic pigs using a cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) time-volume curve and feature tracking technique. Methods: Streptozotocin (STZ) was used to induce diabetic in sixteen pigs. 3.0T MRI scanned the pig's heart before and 2, 6, 10 and 16 months after modelling. CMR biomarkers, including time-volume curve and myocardial strain, were compared to analyse the longitudinal changes in LV function and morphology. Pearson correlation was used to evaluate the relationship between LV strain and remodelling. Cardiac specimens were obtained at 6, 10, and 16 months after modelling to observe the myocardial ultrastructural and microstructure at different courses of diabetes. Results: Twelve pigs developed diabetes. The 80% diastolic volume recovery rate (DVR) at 6 months after modelling was significantly higher than that before modelling (0.78 ± 0.08vs. 0.67 ± 0.15). The LV global longitudinal peak strain (GLPS) (− 10.21 ± 3.15 vs. − 9.74 ± 2.78 vs. − 9.38 ± 3.71 vs. − 8.71 ± 2.68 vs. − 6.59 ± 2.90%) altered gradually from the baseline data to 2, 6, 10 and 16 months after modelling. After 16 months of modelling, the LV remodelling index (LVRI) of pigs increased compared with that before modelling (2.19 ± 0.97 vs. 1.36 ± 0.45 g/ml). Background: Previous researches on large animal models of diabetic cardiomyopathy were insufficient. The aim of this study was to evaluate early changes in left ventricular (LV) function and morphology in diabetic pigs using a cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) time-volume curve and feature tracking technique. Methods: Streptozotocin (STZ) was used to induce diabetic in sixteen pigs. 3.0T MRI scanned the pig's heart before and 2, 6, 10 and 16 months after modelling. CMR biomarkers, including time-volume curve and myocardial strain, were compared to analyse the longitudinal changes in LV function and morphology. Pearson correlation was used to evaluate the relationship between LV strain and remodelling. Cardiac specimens were obtained at 6, 10, and 16 months after modelling to observe the myocardial ultrastructural and microstructure at different courses of diabetes. Results: Twelve pigs developed diabetes. The 80% diastolic volume recovery rate (DVR) at 6 months after modelling was significantly higher than that before modelling (0.78 ± 0.08vs. 0.67 ± 0.15). The LV global longitudinal peak strain (GLPS) (− 10.21 ± 3.15 vs. − 9.74 ± 2.78 vs. − 9.38 ± 3.71 vs. − 8.71 ± 2.68 vs. − 6.59 ± 2.90%) altered gradually from the baseline data to 2, 6, 10 and 16 months after modelling. After 16 months of modelling, the LV remodelling index (LVRI) of pigs increased compared with that before modelling (2.19 ± 0.97 vs. 1.36 ± 0.45 g/ml). In our previous study, target drug delivery and treatment of malignant tumors have been achieved by using platelets as carriers loading nano-chemotherapeutic agents (ND-DOX). However, drug release from ND-DOX-loaded platelets is dependent on negative platelet activation by tumor cells, whose activation is not significant enough for the resulting drug release to take an effective anti-tumor effect. Exploring strategies to proactively manipulate the controlled release of drug-laden platelets is imperative. The present study innovatively revealed that photodynamic action can activate platelets in a spatiotemporally controlled manner. Consequently, based on the previous study, platelets were used to load iron oxide-polyglycerol-doxorubicin-chlorin e6 composites (IO-PG-DOX-Ce6), wherein the laser-triggered drug release ability and anti-tumor capability were demonstrated. The findings suggested that IO-PG-DOX-Ce6 could be stably loaded by platelets in high volume without any decrease in viability. Importantly and interestingly, drug-loaded platelets were significantly activated by laser irradiation, characterized by intracellular ROS accumulation and up-regulation of CD62p. Additionally, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and hydrated particle size results also showed a significant aggregation response of laser irradiated-drug-loaded platelets. Further transmission electron microscopy (TEM) measurements indicated that the activated platelets released extracellularly their cargo drug after laser exposure, which could be taken up by co-cultured tumor cells. Finally, the co-culture model of drug-loaded platelets and tumor cells proved that laser-triggered delivery system of platelets could effectively damage the DNA and promote apoptosis of tumor cells. In the present study, four different combinations of gums, including carrageenan (CG), its binary blends with xanthan gum (XG) or guar gum (GG) in equal ratios, and its ternary blends with XG and GG in three equal ratios, were involved into making partially crystalline emulsions (PCEs), respectively. The freshly prepared emulsions were systematically characterized by rheological property, particle size distribution, microscopic morphology, interfacial property, and intermolecular interactions, and their emulsion stabilities were further evaluated using multiple light scattering technique and storage test. All PCEs stabilized by gum blends (CG + XG, CG + GG, and CG + XG + GG) obtained decreased apparent viscosities at 0.01 s−1 (10.12–25.32 Pa·s), particle sizes (3.12–4.06 μm), as well as interfacial protein concentrations (22.60–27.01 mg/m2), which were much lower than those with single CG (35.98 Pa·s, 6.72 μm, and 47.74 mg/m2, respectively). The microscopic morphology showed that blending CG with XG and/or GG contributed to formation of firmer three-dimensional matrix, thereby preventing the aggregation of fat droplets. Inclusion of XG and/or GG also significantly reduced contribution of hydrophobic interactions from 0.72 to 0.24–0.44 mg/mL. Both multiple light scattering and storage test revealed that emulsion instabilities were mainly manifested as a clarification at the bottom and an agglomeration at the top. PCE-CG + XG + GG exhibited superior stability with low creaming index (6.20 %) and viscosity (1180.0 mPa·s) after three months of storage. Mcm2, a subunit of the minichromosome maintenance proteins 2-7 (Mcm2-7) helicase best known for its role in DNA replication, contains a histone binding motif that facilitates the transfer of parental histones following DNA replication. Here, we show that Mcm2 is important for the differentiation of mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells. The Mcm2-2A mutation defective in histone binding shows defects in silencing of pluripotent genes and the induction of lineage-specific genes. The defects in the induction of lineage-specific genes in the mutant cells are likely, at least in part, due to reduced binding to Asf1a, a histone chaperone that binds Mcm2 and is important for nucleosome disassembly at bivalent chromatin domains containing repressive H3K27me3 and active H3K4me3 modifications during differentiation. Mcm2 localizes at transcription starting sites and the binding of Mcm2 at gene promoters is disrupted in both Mcm2-2A ES cells and neural precursor cells (NPCs). Reduced Mcm2 binding at bivalent chromatin domains in Mcm2-2A ES cells correlates with decreased chromatin accessibility at corresponding sites in NPCs. Background: To evaluate the efficacy of double percutaneous nephrostomy (PCN) combined with ureter occlusion stent for treating cervical cancer complicated with vesicovaginal fistula (VVF). Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed for 12 patients with cervical cancer complicated with VVF. Regardless of surgical resection, radiotherapy alone or combined chemoradiotherapy were carried out in all patients. After VVF was diagnosed by gynecological examination, imaging, and cystoscopy, concurrent double PCN and ureter occlusion stent implantation were performed for all patients. Results: All patients successfully received ureter occlusion stent implantation after nephrostomy. The success rate of nephrostomy and stent placement was 100% (12/12). After intervention, urinary fistula immediately disappeared in all patients. One week post-surgery, bilateral hydronephrosis disappeared in 4 patients, and their renal insufficiency and renal function returned to normal. One month after operation, 6 patients with genital eczema or ulcer and 5 patients with urinary tract infection were cured. During follow-up, there were no recurrence in urinary fistula, renal dysfunction, and other complications. Conclusion: Double PCN combined with ureter occlusion stent could effectively treat cervical cancer complicated with VVF hydronephrosis, urinary tract infection, and renal insufficiency and contribute to alleviate all kinds of clinical discomfort. Positive biodiversity–productivity relationships have been found in biodiversity field experiments of grasslands, forests and natural terrestrial ecosystems, where diversity effects were separated by complementarity (CE) and selection effects (SE). However, we know little about how CE and SE are related to root traits and root dissimilarity.A 4‐year field experiment was carried out with a split‐plot design, where main plot was four nitrogen (N) applications (N0, N1, N2 and N3) and five cropping systems (maize Zea mays L./soybean Glycine max L. Merrill., maize/peanut Arachis hypogaea L. intercropped and the corresponding monocultures) with three replicates. Roots were sampled in the N0 and N2 treatments in 2 years. Intercropping effects were analysed based on grain yield for 4 years and roots were sampled down to 60 cm depth, and analysed with morphological parameters at different crop growth stages in 2 years.Intercropping significantly increased grain yield and above‐ground biomass in both intercropping systems under all N treatments. The partitioning of the net intercropping effects showed that yield advantage in intercropping was due to a positive CE under the N0 treatment, and to a positive SE with N application.Maize showed greater root morphological plasticity than the legumes did, with greater changes in root length density (RLD), root weight density (RWD) and total root surface (TS) in intercropping than in monoculture. Intercropped maize occupied a larger soil space, while lateral RLD distribution of legumes was decreased by maize. The RLD, RWD and TS of intercropped maize were constant or increased in later growth stages. SE showed a significantly positive relationship with root dissimilarity. Principal component analysis showed mean root depth and specific root length of legumes drove the positive CE in the absence of N fertilization.Root dissimilarity determined by maize explained the selection effects in overyielding. Complementarity effects under N0 were closely associated with specific root traits such as mean root depth and specific root length. Linking changes of root traits with intercropping effects above‐ground helps understand yield advantages in diverse agroecosystem. Aim: The aim is to explore the impact of violence and psychological resilience on psychiatric nurses as second victims. Background: Workplace violence is a public health concern, seriously influencing medical staff's physical and mental health. However, few pieces of research have concentrated on psychiatric nurses as second victims. Method: The socio‐demographic data, violence‐related data, psychological resilience scale, the Chinese version of the Second Victim Experience and Support Tool were applied to conduct a cross‐sectional survey on nurses from psychiatric hospitals. The multiple linear regression model identified significant variables associated with violence‐related injury and resilience. Results: A total of 683 nurses completed the survey, of whom 88.3% were women. The average scores of the second victims' experience and support, support and distress were 3.45 ± 0.43, 3.71 ± 0.57 and 3.19 ± 0.67, respectively. Physical violence, psychological violence, psychological influence and nursing work environment were positively correlated with the experience and support of the second victims, and innocuous violence was a negative factor, which explains 20.6% of the variation. Moreover, physical injury, nursing work environment, resilience restructuring, physical violence, psychological violence, psychological impact and disagreement about the existence of violence explained 14.8% of the distress. The innocuous violence, psychological violence and nursing work environment explained 46.2% of the support. Conclusions: Our findings suggest that nurses who are second victims after the violence mainly suffer from severe psychological distress and receive the least support for the same. Implication for nursing management: The study provides clues to help nursing managers' emphasis on the distress and support of second victims and provides targeted intervention based on the relevant factors and these results. Aims: We explored the mediating role of psychological resilience in the experience and support of psychiatric nurses as the second victims and their career success. Background: Psychiatric nurses, as the primary victims of workplace violence, experience physical and psychological distress, which leads to high resignation rate and job burnout. However, not much is known about the mediating role of psychological resilience between the second victims of workplace violence and their career success. Methods: A cross‐sectional study was conducted among 683 psychiatric nurses. The participants were scored according to the Chinese career success scale, Chinese version of the psychological resilience scale for nurses and Chinese version of the second victim experience and support tool. The t‐test and one‐way analysis of variance were used to compare the factors affecting career success. Results: Career success scores differed among nurses of different ages having different employment forms, role and working years (p <.05). Mediating effect analysis revealed that psychological resilience played a full mediating role in the experience and support of second victims and their career success. Conclusion: Psychological resilience‐based interventions should be developed to improve the psychological adjustment ability of psychiatric nurses and to strengthen their career success. A new compound, named penicillquei C (1), and eight known compounds (2–9), were isolated from the fermentation broth of mangrove-derived fungus Penicillium verruculosum TGM14. The structure of compound 1 was identified by comprehensive analyses of 1D and 2D NMR and HR-ESI-MS spectroscopic data, and calculated electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectra. Compound 2 was isolated from the genus Penicillium for the first time. Compound 4 exhibited potent antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 4.7 μM, which is stronger than positive control trolox (IC50 = 13.0 μM). The scientific judgement of the structural abrupt transition characteristics of the carbon market price is an important means to comprehensively analyze its fluctuation law and effectively prevent carbon market risks. However, the existing methods for identifying structural changes of the carbon market based on carbon price data mostly regard the carbon price series as a deterministic time series and pay less attention to the uncertainty implied by the carbon price series. We propose a framework for identifying abrupt transitions in the carbon market from the perspective of a complex network by considering the influence of random factors on the carbon price series, expressing the carbon price series as a sequence of probability density functions, using the distribution of probability density to reveal the uncertainty information implied by carbon price series and constructing a recurrence network of carbon price probability density. Based on the community structure, the break index and statistical test method are defined. The simulation verifies the effectiveness and superiority of the method compared with traditional methods. An empirical analysis uses the carbon price data of the European Union carbon market and seven pilot carbon markets in China. Th17 cells represent important immune cells. Ursolic acid (UA) can regulate immune cell activities. This study was aimed to explore the effects of UA on Th17 cell differentiation and Schwann cell(SCs)-mediated migration and the potential mechanism. Naïve CD4+ T cells were isolated from rat peripheral blood, induced for Th17 cell differentiation, and treated with UA. The proportion of Th17 cells was detected by flow cytometry assay. SCs were co-cultured with Th17 cells. Th17 cell migration was detected by Transwell assay. The molecule expression was determined by Western blot and qRT-PCR. UA inhibited the Th17 cell differentiation and suppressed the STAT3/RORγt pathway. STAT3 overexpression up-regulated p-STAT3 and RORγt expression and promoted Th17 cell differentiation under the UA treatment. In LPS- and IFN-γ-stimulated-SCs, UA suppressed the expression of chemokines CXCL9/10, but had no significant effect of CCL20 expression. The expression CXCL9/10 receptor CXCR3 was higher in Th17 cells than that in Treg cells, while the expression CCL20 receptor CCR6 was lower in Th17 cells than that in Treg cells. UA, anti-CXCR3, and anti-CCR6 treatment inhibited SCs-mediated Th17 cell migration, and anti-CXCR3 exerted stronger inhibitory effect than Anti-CCR6. GNN-based social recommendation aims to use social network information to improve recommendation performance of traditional user–item interaction network (U–I network). However, in graph neural network information aggregation, both social networks and U–I networks inevitably have noise, which affects accuracy of recommendation results. To reduce the noise impact of network data, we propose Robust Social Recommendation based on Contrastive Learning and Dual-Stage Graph Neural Network (CLDS). First, considering instability of social networks, we propose the social preference network. It is robust and retains only social friend relationships with common preferences. Based on it and U–I network, we construct a social recommendation pre-training model. Next, we propose self-contrastive learning method. The method initializes multiple social network node representations through Gaussian distribution, pre-training and random disturbance, respectively. Then, it uses contrastive learning on the generated multiple node representations to enhance the robustness of node representation. Finally, CLDS avoids directly capturing potentially user–user and item–item information in U–I networks which is incomplete and untrusted. And instead, it only extracts user–item information to reduce the noise generated by GNN-based U–I network information aggregation. We conduct experiments under the open-source real network dataset. • Styrene combustion reaction were conducted over a series of Pt@ZSM-5 catalysts with different surface acidity (different Si/Al ratio). • High surface acidity of Pt@ZSM-5 catalyst leads to generation of small Pt particle. • The initial activity of the Pt@ZSM-5 catalysts varies in a volcanic curve with the size of Pt particles. • The surface acidity of Pt@ZSM-5 induced intermediates from the oxidation of styrene significantly accumulates on the catalyst. • The deactivation caused by carbon deposition can be mitigated by increasing the reaction temperature. Catalytic oxidation plays a pivotal role in styrene elimination, yet the development of highly active and robust catalysts remains a challenge. This work aims to elucidate the mechanisms underlying styrene oxidation and catalyst deactivation over the Pt@ZSM-5 catalyst. The Pt@ZSM-5 catalyst with low Si/Al ratio and high surface acidity leads to generation of small Pt particle, the initial activity of the catalyst varies in a volcanic curve with the size of Pt particles. Notably, the Pt@ZSM-5–40 catalyst with Pt particle size of 3.3 nm exhibits the highest reaction rate of 1.6 µmol g Pt −1 s−1 at 100 °C. However, the Pt@ZSM-5 catalysts undergo significant deactivation at their T 80 (the temperature styrene conversion of 80 %). Through comprehensive characterizations and detailed mechanistic studies, it has been observed that intermediates from styrene oxidation accumulate heavily on the catalyst, especially for the Pt@ZSM-5 catalyst with high acidity. Improving the reaction temperature could inhibit the deactivation which is dependent on the surface acidity of Pt@ZSM-5 catalyst. For instance, the Pt@ZSM-5–800 and Pt@ZSM-5–1200 catalysts remains high activity when reaction is operated at T 99+30 , whereas a substantially higher reaction temperature (T 99+80) is required for both Pt@ZSM-5–18 and Pt@ZSM-5–40 catalysts to counteract deactivation. In this paper, we developed an amplified fluorescence biosensor for acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity detection by taking advantage of the mercury ion-mediated Mgzyme (Mg2+-dependent DNAzyme) activity. The catalytic activity of Mgzyme can be inhibited by the formation of T–Hg2+–T base pairs between the Mgzyme and mercury ions. Therefore, the Mgzyme–Hg2+ complex has no activity on a molecular beacon (MB) substrate, which afforded a very weak fluorescence background for this biosensor. After the addition of acetylcholinesterase (AChE), the substrate acetylthiocholine could be hydrolyzed to thiocholine, which has a stronger binding power with mercury ions than T–Hg2+–T base pairs. Therefore, the Mgzyme activity was recovered. The activated Mgzyme could hybridize with the MB substrate and undergo many cleavage cycles, resulting in a significant increase of fluorescence intensity. This biosensor displayed high sensitivity with the detection limit as low as 0.01 mU mL−1. Moreover, this design did not require complex composition and sequence design; thus it is simple and convenient. Androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS) is an X-linked recessive genetic disease characterized by disorders of sex development, commonly caused by mutations of the androgen receptor (AR) gene. Herein, we identified a novel hemizygous mutation (c.2118T > A, p. Asn706Lys) of AR resulting in complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS) in twins. This missense mutation contributed to significantly decreased mRNA transcription and protein expression. In addition, structure model analysis showed that Asn706Lys resulted in loss of hydrogen bond with Asp891 and reduced protein stability. Furthermore, the mutant AR failed to bind to ligand due to the loss of hydrogen bond with dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This disrupted the translocation of AR protein from cytoplasm to nucleus after hormone stimulation. Our findings firstly demonstrated the novel mutation of c.2118T > A in AR directly caused CAIS. Abrin is a types II ribosome-inactivating protein (RIP) isolated from Abrus precatorious seeds, which comprises a catalytically active A chain and a lectin-like B chain linked by a disulfide bond. Four isotoxins of abrin have been reported with similar amino-acid composition but different cytotoxicity, of which abrin-a is the most potent toxin. High lethality and easy availability make abrin a potential bioterrorism agent. However, there are no antidotes available for managing abrin poisoning, and treatment is only symptomatic. Currently, neutralizing antibodies remain the most effective therapy against biotoxin poisoning. In this study, we prepared, identified, and acquired a high-affinity neutralizing monoclonal antibody (mAb) 10D8 with a potent pre- and post-exposure protective effect against cytotoxicity and animal toxicity induced by abrin-a or abrin crude extract. The mAb 10D8 could rescue the mouse injected intraperitoneally with a 25 × LD50 dose of abrin-a from lethality and prevent tissue damages. Results indicated that 10D8 does not prevent the binding and internalization of abrin-a to cells but inhibits the enzymatic activity of abrin-a and reduces protein synthesis inhibition of cells. In this review, we summarize the relationship of PCT with pathogens, evaluate the clinical utility of PCT in the diagnosis of clinical diseases, condition monitoring and evaluation, and guiding medical decision-making, and explore current knowledge on the mechanisms by which pathogens cause changes in PCT levels. The lipopolysaccharides of the microorganisms stimulate cytokine production in host cells, which in turn stimulates production of serum PCT. Pathogens have different virulence mechanisms that lead to variable host inflammatory responses, and differences in the specific signal transduction pathways result in variable serum PCT concentrations. The mechanisms of signal transduction have not been fully elucidated. Further studies are necessary to ascertain the PCT fluctuation range of each pathogen. The growth of cyclodextrin inclusion complexes (ICs) on oil/water interfaces represents a beautiful example of spontaneous pattern formation in nature. How the supramolecules evolve remains a challenge because surface confinement can frustrate microcrystal growth and give rise to unusual phase transitions. Here we investigate the self-assembly of ICs on droplet surfaces using microfluidics, which allows directly visualizing packing, wetting and ordering of the microcrystals anchored on the surface. The oil guests of distinct molecular structures can direct the assembly of the ICs and largely affect anchoring dynamics of the ICs microcrystals, leading to a range of behaviors including orientating, slipping, buckling, jamming, or merging. We discuss the behaviors observed in terms of the flexibility of the building blocks, which offers a new degree of freedom through which to tailor their properties and gives rise to a striking feature of anchoring patterns that have no counterpart in normal colloidal crystals. Low-carbon development is an inevitable choice under global climate change, and carbon markets have emerged accordingly. Carbon price forecasting is a crucial aspect of research on carbon-reduction strategies. Traditional forecasting methods are mostly focused on point-valued time series and contain limited information, which causes point forecasting to lose volatility information. Such limitations highlight the importance of proposing a precise interval-valued time series prediction system. To address this issue, we propose a carbon price interval forecasting framework based on a probability density recurrence network and interval multi-layer perceptron (MLP I) from the perspective of uncertainty in the presence of carbon price fluctuations. First, we convert the original data into a probability density sequence using kernel density estimation and then build the network. To extract valid information and exclude abnormal data in the carbon price sample data, we clean the data using network topology and link prediction theory; then, the MLP I model is used for interval forecasting. To verify the forecasting performance of this method, we conduct an empirical analysis using real interval-valued carbon futures price data from the EU carbon market and compare its forecasting precision with other models under the same conditions. In addition to good whippability, partially crystallized emulsions (PCEs) represented by whipping creams and ice creams must also have prolonged long shelf-life. Carrageenan, the most commonly used thickener for production of PCEs, mainly comes in three commercial forms that may exert different effects on storage stability. In the present study, κ-carrageenan (κ-C), λ-carrageenan (λ-C), ι-carrageenan (ι-C), and their blends (κ-C + λ-C, κ-C + ι-C, λ-C + ι-C, and κ-C + λ-C + ι-C) were included as stabilizers of PCEs to investigate effects of such carrageenans on their static stability. The results indicated that in comparison with λ-C and ι-C, κ-C formed stronger three-dimensional networks with casein micelles, and effectively inhibited droplet flocculation of PCEs by improving zeta potentials (−19.93 mV) and reducing contribution of hydrophobic interactions (0.34 mg/mL) and disulfide bonds (0.34 mg/mL). Interestingly, combination of different types of carrageenans (especially κ-C + λ-C, λ-C + ι-C, and κ-C + λ-C + ι-C) also enhanced the electronegativity (−19.73 to −21.43 mV) and reduced the hydrophobic interactions (0.44–0.53 mg/mL) and disulfide bonds (0.03–0.34 mg/mL), which contributed to preventing fat droplets from flocculation during storage. After a storage of 2 months, the emulsions formulated with κ-C, κ-C + λ-C, λ-C + ι-C, and κ-C + λ-C + ι-C exhibited low levels of watering-off (10.03–11.35% of creaming index) and agglomeration (676.00–1012.50 mPa·s of viscosity). The cyclodextrin (CD)-based emulsions exhibit complex instability behaviors such as rapid flocculation and creaming, and how to capture droplet dispersion states of the emulsions remains a great challenge. Here we prepare the CD-based emulsions with different oil-water volume ratios and CD concentrations by using high-pressure homogenization, and characterize the emulsion droplets by using optical microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy. We evaluate the effects of homogenization pressure on the stability of the emulsions, identify armored droplets with different surface features, measure interfacial concentrations of adsorbed ICs microcrystals, and observe ejection of the oil/CD inclusion complexes (ICs) microcrystals from the droplet surface. The droplet dispersion states are sensitive to the dynamic buildup and evolving morphologies of the interfacial microcrystals, and there are clear correlations between the properties of the ejected microcrystals and the characteristics of the emulsions. We ascribe the subsequent ejection of ICs microcrystals from the droplet surface to consolidation and deformation of the films formed between neighboring droplets. The ejection of the ICs microcrystals affords a simple method to detect the droplet-droplet interactions and phase transitions in the CD-based emulsions, which might be a generic feature in the broader context of the creaming processes of emulsions. We report a novel photonic approach to generate reconfigurable multi-frequency multiple binary modulation formats microwave signals based on a dual-polarization dual-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator (DPol-DDMZM). Two radio frequency (RF) signals and two electrical coding signals are applied to the modulator. By simply setting the proper formats of the applied coding signals, multi-frequency phase shift keying (PSK), amplitude shift keying (ASK) and frequency shift keying (FSK) microwave signals can be generated successfully. Our proposed scheme has been theoretically analyzed and experimentally demonstrated. The tunability of the bit rates and center frequencies of the system has been also proved. No polarization controller (PC) or polarizer (Pol.) is involved, resulting in the independent polarization of the system. Compared with previous reports of single-frequency PSK/ASK/FSK format microwave signals generation system, our proposed simple and compact system realizes multi-frequency reconfigurable functions without the necessity of changing system structure, which can bring great potential application in the multi-frequency radar and communication systems. This article presents a 130 nm SiGe BiCMOS four‐channel satellite communication receiver. Phased‐array system has become the optimal solution for satellite communication due to the electrical steering nature. In order to obtain wider bandwidth, higher precision of phase shift and smaller chip size, an improved quadrature network and a phase compensation technique are proposed in this article. Each channel consists of a cascade low noise variable gain amplifier with a high Q value inductor and an active vector synthetic phase shifter. The measurement results show that the receiver consumes only 193 mA current under 1.6 V supply voltage. The chip can achieve a gain of more than 23 dB (including synthesizer losses) from 19 to 23 GHz. From 17.5 to 23 GHz, the RMS phase shifting accuracy and attenuation accuracy are less than 2.7° and 1.1 dB, respectively. Defects widely exist in rock masses, which have great impacts on the rock mechanical properties. The pre-existing fissures and holes are two common rock defects. In order to study the influence of hole shapes and fissure geometries on the failure modes and mechanical properties of rock masses, the derivatives of kernel functions in the traditional SPH method have been improved by introducing a fracture mark ξ, and a novel numerical method named improved kernel of smoothed particle hydrodynamics (IKSPH) has been developed to realize the simulations of rock fracture processes. The Monte Carlo method has also been introduced into the proposed method to realize the formations of random fissures. The small-scale numerical rock specimens with different hole shapes as well as random fissures are established. The crack propagation processes, the failure modes and the mechanical properties under uniaxial compression are simulated, results show that: 'Wing cracks' initiate from the random fissures, whose locations and interaction modes differ according to the geometries of random fissures. For rectangle hole, the crack initiations mainly occur at the upper and lower edges as well as the corners; for circular hole, tensile cracks appear at the 6 and 12 o'clock directions, meanwhile, shear cracks initiate at the 5 and 7 o'clock direction after the tensile crack propagates to a certain extent; for trapezoid and triangle hole, crack initiations mostly appear at the corners of the hole; the length and quantity of pre-existing fissures have greater influences on the mechanical properties of rock masses than the hole shapes and fissure dip angles. The research results can provide guidance for the correct understandings of fractured rock mechanisms. Meanwhile, the proposed method can also provide references for the applications of SPH method into simulations of rock fracture mechanics. Amongst all toxicological endpoints, carcinogenicity might pose the greatest concern. Genetic damage has been considered an important underlying mechanism for the carcinogenicity of chemical substances. The demand for in vitro genotoxic tests as alternative approaches is growing rapidly with the implementation of new regulations for compounds. However, currently available in vitro genotoxicity tests are often limited by relatively high false positive rates. Moreover, few studies have explored carcinogenicity potential by in vitro genotoxicity testing due to the shortage of suitable toxicological biomarkers to link gene damage with cancer risk. γ-H2AX is a recently acknowledged attractive endpoint (biomarker) for evaluating DNA damage and can simultaneously reflect the DNA damage response and repair of cells. We previously reported an ultrasensitive and reliable method, namely stable-isotope dilution-liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (ID-LC–MS/MS), for detecting cellular γ-H2AX and evaluating genotoxic chemicals. More importantly, our method can dynamically monitor the specific processes of genotoxic compounds affecting DNA damage and repair reflected by the amount of γ-H2AX. To clarify the possibility of using this method to assess the potential carcinogenicity of genotoxic chemicals, we applied it to a set of 69 model compounds recommended by the European Center for the Validation of Alternative Methods (ECVAM), with already-characterized genotoxic potential. Compared to conventional in vitro genotoxicity assays, including the Ames test, the γ-H2AX assay by MS has high accuracy (94–96%) due to high sensitivity and specificity (88% and 100%, respectively). The dynamic profiles of model compounds after exposure in HepG2 cells were explored, and a mathematical approach was employed to simulate and quantitatively model the DNA repair kinetics of genotoxic carcinogens (GCs) based on γ-H2AX time–effect curves up to 8 h. Two crucial parameters, i.e., k (rate of γ-H2AX decay) and t50 (time required for γ-H2AX from maximum decrease to half) estimated by the least squares method, were achieved. Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a major risk factor for coronary artery disease and myocardial infarction (MI). The interaction of diabetic cardiomyopathy and MI scars on myocardial deformation in T2DM patients is unclear. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate myocardial deformation using cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) in T2DM patients with previous MI and investigated the influence of myocardial scar on left ventricular (LV) deformation. Methods: Overall, 202 T2DM patients, including 46 with MI (T2DM(MI+)) and 156 without MI (T2DM(MI−)), and 59 normal controls who underwent CMR scans were included. Myocardial scars were assessed by late gadolinium enhancement. LV function and deformation, including LV global function index, LV global peak strain (PS), peak systolic strain rate (PSSR), and peak diastolic strain rate (PDSR), were compared among these groups. Correlation and multivariate linear regression analyses were used to investigate the relationship between myocardial scars and LV deformation. Results: Decreases were observed in LV function and LV global PS, PSSR, and PDSR in the T2DM(MI+) group compared with those of the other groups. Reduced LV deformation (p < 0.017) was observed in the T2DM(MI+) group with anterior wall infarction. The increased total LV infarct extent and infarct mass of LV were related to decreased LV global PS (radial, circumferential, and longitudinal directions; p < 0.01) and LV global PSSR (radial and circumferential directions, p < 0.02). Multivariate analysis demonstrated that NYHA functional class and total LV infarct extent were independently associated with LV global radial PS (β = − 0.400 and β = − 0.446, respectively, all p < 0.01; model R2 = 0.37) and circumferential PS (β = 0.339 and β = 0.530, respectively, all p < 0.01; model R2 = 0.41), LV anterior wall infarction was independently associated with LV global longitudinal PS (β = 0.398, p = 0.006). Conclusions: The myocardial scarring size in T2DM patients after MI is negatively correlated with LV global PS and PSSR, particularly in the circumferential direction. Background: Adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD) often presents with systemic multiple lymphadenopathy. In addition to the common paracortical and mixed patterns in AOSD lymph node histopathological features, other morphological patterns include diffuse, necrotic, and follicular patterns. However, to date, there have been few reports on the histopathological description of AOSD lymph nodes. Case presentation: An 18-year-old woman presented 2 months earlier with pain in her large joints with painless rash formation; bilateral posterior cervical lymph node, left supraclavicular lymph node, and left posterior axillary lymph node enlargement, and no tenderness. Left cervical lymph node resection was performed for pathological examination. The lymph node structure was basically preserved, and subcapsular and medullary sinus structures were observed. Many histiocytes in the sinus were observed, the cortical area was reduced, a few lymphoid follicles of different sizes were observed, and some atrophy and hyperplasia were noted. The lymphoid tissue in the paracortical region of the lymph node was diffusely proliferative and enlarged, mainly comprising histiocytes with abundant cytoplasm, immunoblasts and numerous lymphocytes with slightly irregular, small- to medium-sized nuclei. Nuclear karyorrhexis was easily observed, showing a few nuclear debris and the "starry sky" phenomenon, accompanied by abundantly branching high endothelial small vessels with few scattered plasma cells and eosinophil infiltration. Lymphoid follicle immunophenotype with reactive proliferative changes was observed. Approximately 40% of the cells in the paracortical region were positive for Ki-67, and the histiocytes expressed CD68, CD163, and some expressed S-100, with the absence of myeloperoxidase. The immunoblasts expressed CD30 and CD20, not ALK or CD15. Background small- to medium-sized T cells expressed CD2, CD3, CD5, CD7, CD4, and CD8; the number of CD8-positive T cells was slightly predominant, and a small number of T cells expressed granzyme B and T-cell intracellular antigen 1. The patient received a comprehensive medical treatment after the operation, and her condition was stable without progression at the 11-month follow-up evaluation. Conclusions: The pathological features of AOSD lymphadenopathy raises the awareness of AOSD among pathologists and clinicians and aids in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of AOSD lymphadenopathy from other reactive lymphadenopathies (lupus lymphadenitis, etc.) and lymphomas. Far less has been unveiled about the functions of lncRNAs on cancers yet. Here, we reported that lncRNA FAM87A, as a ceRNA of miR-424-5p, played a vital role in glioma development. qRT-PCR result indicated that FAM87A was abnormally downregulated in glioma tissue and cells. Survival analysis suggested that the FAM87A expression was negatively correlated with the survival rate. Effects of FAM87A on human glioma cell lines were also analyzed by MTT, Edu, and transwell assays. FAM87A hastened proliferation and migration of glioma cells. MiR-424-5p, predicted target of FAM87A, was fostered in glioma, which was examined by qRT-PCR. A negative correlation was indicated between FAM87A and miR-424-5p. Results of bioinformatics, dual luciferase, and RIP assays unveiled that FAM87A and miR-424-5p act upon each other. In addition, miR-424-5p targeted 3 ′ -UTR of PPM1H. Also, effects of miR-424-5p/FAM87A on glioma cells were identified via the cell function experiments. FAM87A suppressed PPM1H by binding to miR-424-5p competitively, thereby restraining cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Methods: We prospectively enrolled 99 DMD patients (8.8 ± 2.5 years) and 25 matched male healthy controls (9.5 ± 2.5 years). All subjects underwent cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) with cine, T1 mapping and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) sequences. Native T1 values based on the global and regional myocardium were measured, and LGE was defined. Results: LGE was present in 49 (49%) DMD patients. Global native T1 values were significantly longer in LGE-positive (LGE +) patients than in healthy controls, both in basal slices (1304 ± 55 vs. 1246 ± 27 ms, p < 0.001) and in mid-level slices (1305 ± 57 vs. 1245 ± 37 ms, p < 0.001). No significant difference in global native T1 was found between healthy controls and LGE-negative (LGE−) patients. In segmental analysis, LGE + patients had significantly increased native T1 in all analyzed segments compared to the healthy control group. Meanwhile, the comparison between LGE− patients and healthy controls showed significantly elevated values only in the basal anterolateral segment (1273 ± 62 vs. 1234 ± 40 ms, p = 0.034). Interestingly, the epicardial layer had a significantly higher native T1 in LGE− patients than in healthy controls (p < 0.05), whereas no such pattern was noticed in the global myocardium. Epicardial layer native T1 resulted in the highest diagnostic performance for distinguishing between healthy controls and DMD patients in receiver operating curve analyses (area under the curve [AUC] 0.84 for basal level and 0.85 for middle level) when compared to global native T1 and endocardial layer native T1.
