The extent of removal of lignin and hemicellulose are crucial indicators for evaluating the efficiency of enzymatic hydrolysis of crop straw. Numerous factors influence these two indices. Establishing a quantitative model that correlates these factors with hydrolysis efficiency is essential, as it can guide efficient hydrolysis. In this study, a predictive method for enzymatic hydrolysis efficiency in crop straw was proposed using Grey relational analysis (GRA), Kernel principal component analysis (KPCA), and a least squares support vector machine (LSSVM). The authors collected a dataset from actual production data and developed an efficiency predictive model using GRA for variable selection, KPCA for dimensionality reduction, and LSSVM for model training. This model allows for the direct estimation of the final enzymatic hydrolysis efficiency based on production condition variables, which can include enzyme amount, temperatures, pH, time, agitation, and straw dimensions. Extensive experimental testing validated the effectiveness of the proposed method, resulting in minimal errors, a high degree of fit, and exceptional performance. The methodology described in this study can serve as a foundation for optimising the design of efficient enzymatic hydrolysis production processes for crop straw. Additionally, it offers valuable soft measurements to support efficient control of the enzymatic hydrolysis process.

Background The risk of diabetes mellitus can increase with age, and the prevalence of prediabetes and diabetes mellitus in the middle-aged and elderly adults is 40% and 10%, respectively. Good adherence to blood glucose monitoring improves the rate of glycohemoglobin compliance. However, adherence to blood glucose monitoring is poor in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in rural areas. Objective To investigate and understand the blood glucose monitoring situation of middle-aged and elderly patients with T2DM aged 45 to 65 years in rural areas of Zhongmou County, Henan Province, explore the psychological and behavioral factors affecting their adherence to blood glucose monitoring and monitoring frequency, so as to provide a reference for targeted interventions to improve the blood glucose monitoring compliance of the middle-aged and elderly patients with T2DM in rural areas. Methods Middle-aged and elderly T2DM patients in rural areas of Zhongmou County, Henan Province from November 2 to 12, 2021 were selected to conduct for questionnaire survey by using convenience sampling method. A self-designed general information questionnaire was used to investigate their basic information and blood glucose monitoring. Additionally, the Five-item Mindful Awareness Attention Scale (MAAS-5), Generalized Anxiety Disorder Questionnaire (GAD-7), Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), and Diabetic Self-management Scale (DSMS) were used to investigate their mindfulness, anxiety, depression, and self-management ability, respectively. Univariate analysis, multivariate Logistic regression and negative binomial regressions were used to explore the influencing factors of situation and frequency of blood glucose monitoring and monitoring frequency in middle-aged and elderly T2DM patients. Results A total of 484 questionnaires were collected, and 469 were enrolled in this study, with a recovery rate of 96.9%. Of the 469 patients, 58.8% (276/469) were unable to monitor blood glucose monthly, and the frequency of monthly blood glucose measurements for the 193 patients who monitored blood glucose ranged from 1 to 60 times, with a median of 2 times. Abstract Background The occurrence of surgical site infection (SSI) after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) is still relatively high. The aim of this retrospective study is to evaluate the efficacy of piperacillin-tazobactam as perioperative prophylactic antibiotic on organ/space SSI for patients underwent PD. Methods Four hundred seven consecutive patients who underwent PD between January 2018 and December 2022 were enrolled and analyzed retrospectively. The univariate and multivariate analysis were used to identify independent risk factors of organ/space SSI. Postoperative complications were compared between the two groups according to the use of prophylactic antibiotics by a ratio of 1:1 propensity score-matched (PSM) analysis. Results Based on perioperative prophylactic antibiotic use, all 407 patients were divided into the ceftriaxone group (n = 192, 47.2%) and piperacillin–tazobactam group (n = 215, 52.8%). IntroductionNorovirus (NoV) is one of the most important agents responsible for viral acute gastroenteritis, among which GII.4 NoV is the predominant strain worldwide, and GII.17 NoV surpassed GII.4 in some epidemic seasons. Rapid and accurate gene recognition is essential for a timely response to NoV outbreaks.MethodsIn the present study, the highly conserved regions of GII.4 and GII.17 NoVs were identified in the junction of open reading frame (ORF) 1 and ORF2 and then amplified by isothermal recombinase-aided amplification (RAA), followed by the cleavage of CRISPR-Cas13a with screened CRISPR RNAs (crRNAs) and RAA primers. The entire detection procedure could be completed within 40 min using a thermostat, and the results could be read out by the naked eye under a portable blue light transilluminator.DiscussionThe assay showed a high sensitivity of 97.96% and a high specificity of 100.0%. It offered a low limit of detection (LOD) of 2.5×100 copies/reaction and a coincidence rate of 96.75% in 71 clinical fecal samples. Overall, rapid and inexpensive detection of GII.4/GII.17 NoVs was established, which makes it possible to be used in areas with limited resources, particularly in low-income countries. Furthermore, it will contribute to assessing transmission risks and implementing control measures for GII.4/GII.17 NoVs, making healthcare more accessible worldwide.
