The electrode is a core component that affects the overall performance of the hydrogen/iron redox flow battery. To address the drawbacks associated with the limited electrochemical activity and fewer active sites of the carbon-based electrode, this study employs a straightforward and effective flame method to synthesize carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on carbon paper and NiO/CNT composite on graphite felt. The CNT on the modified carbon-based electrode contains many hydrophilic and oxygen-containing functional groups, greatly improving the hydrophilicity of the electrode, thereby increasing the electrochemical surface area. The modified carbon-based electrode exhibits better electrochemical activity due to the CNT or NiO/CNT providing more active sites. At 50 mA cm−2, the energy efficiency of pristine carbon paper and graphite felt is 60.8% and 52.4%, respectively, while the energy efficiency of the modified carbon paper and graphite felt reached 75.3% and 80.5%, respectively. The modified carbon-based electrode achieves a 100% coulombic efficiency, with no significant degradation in energy efficiency after running for 300 cycles, demonstrating excellent stability. This study not only investigates the performance of graphite felt electrodes in hydrogen/iron batteries but also proposes a flame method for preparing CNT-modified carbon-based electrodes for high-performance hydrogen/iron batteries.

This paper addresses the optimal decisions and channel coordination issues in a green supply chain composed of a socially responsible manufacturer and a fair-mined retailer, where the manufacturer invests in advanced facilities/technologies to improve green quality of products, and the retailer exerts marketing effort to enhance market demand. We develop supply chain models under three scenarios: centralized system, wholesale price (WP) contract without fairness concerns, and WP contract with fairness concerns. Our results show that the retailer’s fairness behavior further causes a benefit for herself, while the manufacturer and the total supply chain to suffer. Moreover, a revenue-cost-sharing (RCS) contract is introduced to coordinate supply chain . We prove that a win-win outcome is reachable, and the RCS contract is applicable in practice.

Background Upper limb motor dysfunction is a common complication after stroke that seriously affects daily living skills of patients. As a common neuroelectrohysiological technique, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has a good effect on post-stroke upper limb motor dysfunction. However, there is still no practice-based evidence on the selection of modalities of rTMS. Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of four rTMS modalities in post-stroke upper limb motor dysfunction by a network meta-analysis. Methods Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) about rTMS for treating upper limb motor dysfunction after stroke were searched with subject words combined with free words as searching terms in PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CBM, CNKI, Wanfang Data, and VIP from inception to February 2022, supplemented by references from retrospective meta-analysis. Two researchers performed literature screening, data extraction, and quality evaluation separately. RevMan 5.0 and Stata 16.0 were used for statistical analysis. Results A total of 17 RCTs with 790 cases were included. Six interventions were involved: high frequency-rTMS (HF-rTMS), low frequency-rTMS (LF-rTMS), intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS), continuous theta burst stimulation (cTBS), sham stimulation and conventional therapy. Network meta-analysis results showed that HF-rTMS and LF-rTMS had better effects on increasing the FMA-UE score than sham stimulation and conventional therapy (PcTBS (75.3%) >HF-rTMS (71.1%) >iTBS (45.8%) >sham stimulation (20.2%) >conventional therapy (7.7%). The SUCRA ranking of decreasing the MAS score revealed the following: iTBS (77.0%) >LF-rTMS (64.1%) >cTBS (61.0%) >HF-rTMS (38.0%) >sham stimulation (30.6%) >conventional therapy (29.2%). The SUCRA ranking of increasing the MBI and BI scores showed the following: LF-rTMS (96.4%) >iTBS (74.9%) >HF-rTMS (38.6%) >sham stimulation (30.7%) >conventional therapy (9.4%). The SUCRA ranking of reducing the MEP latency showed the following: HF-rTMS (80.0%) >LF-rTMS (78.9%) >conventional therapy (58.8%) >iTBS (24.9%) >sham stimulation (7.5%) . Conclusion The available evidence indicates that, among four modalities producing better effects than sham stimulation and conventional therapy, namely LF-rTMS, HF-rTMS, iTBS, and cTBS, LF-rTMS was superior to the other three in improving upper limb motor function and daily living skills of stroke patients, iTBS performed best in decreasing upper limb muscle tension, and HF-rTMS did best in intervening the corticospinal excitability.

Abstract Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) have garnered significant attention due to their high efficiency and low emissions. However, PEMFC always suffers mass transfer and water management in performance improvement. Herein, an integrated gas diffusion layer (GDL) with wavy channel and micro‐tunneled rib is designed and prepared to achieve faster and gentler mass transfer and excellent water management capability by laser engraving. Outstandingly, the new integrated GDL can use the back pressure of air as low as 0 and 50 kPa to respectively achieve 80% and 90% of fuel cell performance realized under pure oxygen. Such high performance is mainly due to the turbulent flow caused by wavy channel and express removing pathway of liquid water provided by micro‐tunneled rib. Moreover, the new integrated GDL also shows wide humidity tolerance from 40% to 100% and a very high specific volume power density of 16,300 W L−1 due to the thin thickness of new integrated GDL. This new integrated GDL is expected to be widely used in PEMFC and other energy conversion devices.

Objective To analyze the research status and development trend of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, to provide a reference for the research of nasopharyngeal cavcinoma in China. Methods We retrieved research articles about nasopharyngeal carcinoma from 2009 to 2019 in the Web of Science (WOS) core database of USA. The number of published articles, research institutions, citations and keywords of the literature were analyzed through the statistical tools provided by CiteSpace and WOS database, and the word frequency, centrality and clustering status of keywords were explored. Results After screening, a total of 4841 articles were obtained, and the number of published articles increased year by year. The top 10 keywords with the highest frequency and top 10 keywords with the highest centrality mainly focus on the treatment and pathogenesis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The clustering results concentrated on poor prognosis, advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma, clinical target area mapping and isopentenyl isoflavones. Conclusion The research hotspot of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is closely related to the geographical distribution of patients. The current research focuses on the treatment and pathogenesis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

To investigate the effect of low light (LL, 50% natural light) during grain filling (GF) stage on rice transamination, amino acid (AA) accumulation, nutritional value, and cooking quality in three different rice genotypes, transaminase activities and AA levels in grains during GF stage and the traits that significantly affected rice quality (physical appearance, cooking quality, and nutritional value) were analyzed. LL did not disturb transamination in rice grains during GF stage, as minimal impact was found on alanine and aspartate transaminase activities. Nevertheless, most AAs in caryopses, including lysine and threonine, increased in response to LL, except for sulfur-containing AAs. These results suggest that AA metabolism and accumulation in rice grains were rarely suppressed by LL during GF stage. Rice nutritional ingredients at harvest, such as major protein components including glutelin and most important essential amino acids (EAAs) including lysine and threonine, increased significantly in response to LL, whereas most protein and EAA ratios were rarely affected. However, LL markedly affected physical appearance of rice grains by reducing brown rice rate, milled rice rate, and 1000-grain weight and increasing the chalkiness rate. In addition, cooking qualities decreased in response to LL, while breakdown values and amylose levels decreased and setback values increased. We concluded that LL during GF stage decreased the cooking quality of rice, but could potentially improve the nutritional value of rice.

Transient Perivascular Inflammation of the\ Carotid Artery (TIPIC) syndrome is uncommon, and cases of TIPIC induced by the targeted drug, sorafenib, are extremely rare. This case report describes a patient with acute myeloid leukemia carrying an FMS‐like tyrosine kinase 3 mutation, who developed TIPIC syndrome, which may have been induced by sorafenib treatment. A 65-year-old woman diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia experienced severe neck pain and sclerotic blisters on her palms and soles during sorafenib treatment. Carotid ultrasound revealed thickening of the right common carotid artery (RCCA) wall, and magnetic resonance imaging revealed perivascular tissue edema in the distal RCCA. Following clinical and imaging assessments, the patient was diagnosed with TIPIC syndrome. Treatment involved a one-week course of oral steroid therapy with dexamethasone and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which led to complete clinical recovery. TIPIC syndrome involves transient nonspecific perivascular inflammation of the carotid adventitia; however, the precise underlying cause remains unclear. In this study, we report a rare case and explore the potential pathophysiological mechanisms through a review of the existing literature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
