Emission control of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from industrial sources is a frontline defense against air pollution in China. Owing to the complexity of chemical processing technologies and reaction mechanisms of VOCs, it is extremely difficult to pinpoint specific emission sources in a large-scale industrial region due to the synergy of various chemical processes. In this research, a comprehensive on-site emission profile of a representative petrochemical industrial park in East China is set up with measurements conducted using photochemical assessment monitoring stations (PAMSs) and the TO-15 method as per the United States Environmental Protection Agency. This is followed by a quantitative ozone formation potential (OFP) analysis, toxification analysis, and an on-site health risk assessment, covering each of 18 major facilities’ three sections: the refinery, chemical manufacturing zone, and wastewater treatment zone. The number of facilities and detected species studied in this research exceeds that of a former similar study. This study shows that the majority of VOC emissions from those enterprises possessing the largest impact on the environment are hydrocarbons: alkanes, olefin (alkenes, alkynes), and aromatics (91% in total). Aromatics and olefins show the maximum contribution to OFP, which is consistent with the results of similar studies. VOCs, such as 1,3-butadiene, from refineries are key factors leading to long-term health impacts, with aromatics being a leading carcinogenic and noncarcinogenic factor.

The fibrinogen-to-albumin ratio index (FAR) is a valuable tool reflecting the systemic inflammation level and associated with the severity of coronary artery disease. However, the utility of the FAR in predicting the long-term prognosis of patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and multivessel disease has remained to be determined. A total of 424 patients diagnosed with STEMI and multivessel disease were recruited for the present study. They were given emergent percutaneous coronary intervention treatment and then completed a follow-up for primary (all-cause mortality) and secondary endpoints (major adverse cardiac events, including MI, stroke, emergent revascularization and rehospitalization due to heart failure). The association between FAR and the Synergy Between Percutaneous Coronary Intervention with Taxus and Cardiac Surgery (SYNTAX) score was investigated, while receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was adopted to assess the ability of the FAR to predict long-term outcomes. The long-term survival of high and low FAR groups was compared by drawing Kaplan-Meier survival curves. Multivariate Cox regression analysis was adopted to evaluate the risk factors of primary and secondary endpoints. The FAR was revealed to have a linear correlation with the SYNTAX score (y=0.022x+17.737; P=0.015). Many environmental safety issues in real life have hidden periods. Take environmental pollution as an example. Excessive automobile exhaust gas may not have obvious adverse effects on the environment in a short period of time, but over time postpone, environmental problems will slowly surface. Therefore, traditional environmental problem monitoring procedures can often only detect environmental problems that may exist in a short time. The GIS environmental problem monitoring program introduced in this article has great advantages compared with the traditional monitoring program. The program uses advanced multimedia technology to perform statistical monitoring on the hydrological and environmental information of various regions, and can monitor the upcoming events in a certain area. It can effectively predict water pollution incidents. In addition, corresponding preventive measures are designed according to the degree of pollution in the accident, which provides great help for relevant departments to control environmental pollution and ensure environmental sanitation. At the same time, the program can also investigate the environmental problems that have occurred, analyze the technical means needed to solve the pollution problem, and provide technical support to relevant staff.

A bolted beam-to-column connection with rib-stiffened splicing plates is presented to facilitate on-site assembly and enhance the stiffness of joints. The joints consist of three modules and are assembled using bolts on site. Cyclic tests and a finite element analysis (FEA) are performed on seven full-scale joints. The influence of the trapezoidal stiffener's size, end-plate connection type, and the number of bolts on the seismic performance of the joints is investigated. The seismic performance of the bolted joints is compared with that of a welded joint. The failure mode, hysteretic curve, energy dissipation capacity, ductility, rotation capacity, bolt tension, friction, strength, and stiffness of the joints are determined via the tests and FEA. The trapezoidal stiffener significantly improves the bearing capacity, stiffness, and energy-dissipation capacity of the joints, making the plastic hinge occur on the beam flange outside the splicing zone. It is preferable to move the web bolts to the beam flange for improved seismic performance. The bolts on the four corners of the column flange have little effect on the seismic performance; thus, the bolts can be eliminated and the flange can be substituted by four small plates to reduce cost. This reasonable design could prevent the slipping of the joint during small-magnitude earthquakes, facilitate energy dissipation via slip during medium-magnitude earthquakes, and facilitate energy dissipation via the slip and plastic deformation of the beams during large-magnitude earthquakes. The formula for the ultimate load is presented, and the corresponding calculation results agree well with the test results.

Online GC was adopted to monitor VOCs of high pollution process near a chemical industrial area in winter. PMF model was used to identify the major sources of VOCs and evaluate their contributions. The result showed that the main components during the period of observation were toluene, xylene, C3-C4 hydrocarbon and chloroform, etc. Organic sulfur compounds were the major odor pollutants at the chemical industrial area. To compare the short and long term clinical efficacy for treatment of patients with extranodal nasal-type NK/T-cell lymphoma(ENKTL) by intensity modulated radiotherapy(IMRT) and conventional radiotheraphy(CRT).Sixty-three cases of early ENKTL were divided into the IMRT group of (33 cases) and CRT group(30 cases). The short effects, overall survival(OS) of 3 years, progression free survival(PFS) of 3 years, acute radiation injury and late adverse reactions to radiation were compared between 2 group.The rate of overall response rate(ORR) were not significantly between the 2 groups(P0.05); the OS of 3 years and PFS of 3 years were not different significantly between the 2 groups(P0.05); the OS of 3 years and PFS of 3 years were not different significantly between the chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy group(P0.05); the incidence and severity of oral mucosa reaction, myelosuppression, skin reaction and dry mouth were not significantly different between the 2 groups(P0.05); the incidence of late dry mouth and swallowing obstruction feeling in the IMRT group were significantly lower than those in CRT group (P0.05); the rate of late hearing loss, visual loss and mouth openin restriction were not different between the 2 groups(P0.05).The short and long term clinical efficacy of IMRT and CRT for the patients with ENKTL is the same; however, the adverse radiation reactions of IMRT are lower, showing a positive significance for improvment of prognosis improving.

To identify the good peanut cultivars with the properties of high yield, high nutrient use efficiency and wide adaptability, 19 selected peanut cultivars were planted in the low champaign area and piedmont plain area of Hebei Province. By using principal component analysis, the adaptability of these 19 cultivars was evaluated for different ecological regions through comparing their 16 main traits including biomass and nutrient parameters. According to the critical value of principal component (1.0), the 16 biomass and nutrient characteristics were integrated into 4 principal components which accounted for 85% of the original information. The results indicated that there were obvious differences in yield and nutrient use efficiency for the peanut cultivars in different ecological regions. The 19 peanut cultivars were classified into 2 groups according to their ecological adaptability, and the cultivars from the group with wide adaptability could further be divided into 3 categories according to their yield and nutrient use efficiency. Among these cultivars, Yuhua 9719, Jihua 0212-4, Weihua 10, Yuhua 15, Puhua 28 and Jihua 10 were selected as the better peanut cultivars with the properties of high yield, high nutrient use efficiency and wide adaptability.
