Objectives: To investigate the expression of microRNA-142 (miR-142) in children with autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD) and its relationship with the imbalance of helper T cell 17 (Th17) and regulatory T cell (Treg)., Methods: A total of 89 children hospitalized for AITD from January 2019 to December 2022 were prospectively selected as the study subjects, including 48 children with Graves' disease (GD group) and 41 children with Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT group). Additionally, 55 healthy children undergoing physical examinations during the same period were selected as the control group. The differences in serum miR-142, antithyroglobulin antibody (TGAb), antithyroperoxidase antibody (TPOAb), Th17/Treg, and interleukin-17 (IL-17) expression were compared among the groups., Results: The expression of miR-142, TPOAb, TGAb, Th17, Th17/Treg, and IL-17 in the GD group and HT group was higher than that in the control group, while Treg was lower than that in the control group ( P <0.05). Pearson correlation analysis revealed that in the GD group, miR-142 was positively correlated with TPOAb, TGAb, Th17, Th17/Treg, and IL-17 ( r =0.711, 0.728, 0.785, 0.716, 0.709, respectively; P <0.001) and negatively correlated with Treg ( r =-0.725, P <0.001); in the HT group, miR-142 was positively correlated with TPOAb and TGAb ( r =0.752, 0.717, respectively; P <0.001)., Conclusions: miR-142 is highly expressed in children with AITD, and its expression may be related to the Th17/Treg imbalance in children with GD.

Herein, we report a concise and divergent synthesis of the complex hasubanan alkaloids metaphanine and oxoepistephamiersine from commercially available and inexpensive cyclohexanedione monoethylene acetal. Our synthesis features a palladium-catalyzed cascade cyclization reaction to set the tricyclic carbon framework of the desired molecules, a regioselective Baeyer-Villiger oxidation followed by a MeNH 2 triggered skeletal reorganization cascade to construct the benzannulated aza[4.4.3]propellane, and a strategically late-stage regio-/diastereoselective oxidative annulation of sp 3 C-H bond to form the challenging THF ring system and hemiketal moiety in a single step. Objective: To appraise the clinical outcomes of barbed suture in closure of total hip and total knee arthroplasty. Methods: Databases (Web of Science, Embase, PubMed, Cochrane Controlled Trials Register,Cochrane Library,Highwire,China Biology Medicine disc (CBM), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI),VIP and Wanfang database) were searched for randomized controlled trials comparing barbed sutures and conventional sutures in total hip and total knee arthroplasty published before January, 2019. Finally, 11 articles (12 randomized controlled trials) involving 1 629 hips or knees were included in this study. The meta-analysis was performed using the Review Manager software. Results: Compared with conventional sutures,barbed sutures resulted in shorter total wound closure time ( P< 0.001), less ecchymosis and needle prick (both P< 0.05).There was no significant differences in terms of wound related complications, superficial infection, stitch abscess, blister, exudation, broken sutures, range of motionand KSS between barbed sutures and conventional sutures(all P> 0.05). Conclusions: Based on available level Ⅰ evidence, it indicated that knotless barbed suture maybe a better approach for wound closure in total hip and total knee arthroplasty.

Based on various comparable salen ligands, three synthesized CuIINaI-complexes present efficient catalytic activities for the coupling and cyclization reaction of 1,2-diaminopropane with nitriles towards 2-imidazolines. The catalytic results show that salen ligands with an electron-donating substituent and small steric hindrance improve the catalytic activity.

Purpose: The causes of anemia and the common side effects of cancer are multifactorial. Malnutrition is one of the alleged components of the aforementioned complications. This study planned to investigate the relationship among biochemical markers, Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA), and anemia in cancer patients., Methods: This analysis consisted of 234 patients who were enlisted in the Department of Oncology of the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University between December 2016 and October 2017. The groups were divided into anemic and non-anemic patients. The gathered data primarily discussed the patients' basic information, specifically the age, gender, smoking, alcohol consumption, and nutritional status based on levels of serum biochemical markers and PG-SGA scores., Results: Among the participants, 31.2% of the cancer patients were diagnosed with anemia whereas, according to the scores of PG.SGA, 65.0% of patients experienced malnourishment. The anemia was significantly associated with biochemical markers, expecting a transferrin in univariable analyses. Binary logistic regression analysis between anemic cancer patients and non-anemic cancer patients suggested that high PG-SGA score (odds ratio 1.082; 95% CI 1.027-1.141) implied the risk factor for anemia, and high PG-SGA scores could potentially increase the risk of anemia. The multiple regression analysis showed that hemoglobin concentration (OR 0.575; 95% CI 0.450-0.736) and PG-SGA score (OR 1.231; 95% CI 1.013-1.496) were linked to anemia. However, total protein, albumin, prealbumin, serum iron, transferrin, and transferrin saturation lacked a strong relationship with anemia., Conclusion: Anemia prevailed in cancer patients, as nutritionally assessed by PG-SGA, while hemoglobin established a linkage with anemia as they could provide extra predictive information about anemia in patients diagnosed with cancer.

Objective: To explore the protective effect of Tianqi Hangli Recipe () extract (THRE) on high sustained positive acceleration (+Gz) stress-induced myocardial mitochondrial injury in rats., Methods: Seventy-two male SD rats were randomly assigned to various groups with 12 rats per group: blank control group, stress control group, high +Gz stress group, low-dose THRE group (0.75 g/kg), medium-dose THRE group (1.5 g/kg) and high dose THRE group (3.0 g/kg). Each rat was fifi rstly fed with 20 mL/kg menstruum once a day for 14 days. The rats were then exposed to high +Gz at the 15th day. Myocardial mitochondrial structure, respiratory function, antioxidant capacity and ATPases activities were examined for the comparison after the high +Gz exposure., Results: The rats treated with high +Gz stress showed signififi cant pathological changes: the myocardial mitochondria were swelled, degenerated and decreased, and mitochondrial cristae were broken or disappeared. State 3 respiration and the respiratory control ratio (RCR) were both significantly lower, and state 4 respiration was higher as compared with the blank control group and stress control groups (P <0.01, P <0.05). In addition, the activities of its antioxidant enzymes [superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px)] and Na + -K + -ATPase were also decreased (P <0.01 or P <0.05), but the formation of malondialdehyde (MDA) was increased (P <0.01). However, THRE preconditioning could attenuate mitochondrial structural damages and reverse the high +Gz stress-caused changes of parameters about respiration, antioxidant enzymes and ATPases, most of which had no significant difference between the high-dose THRE group and the stress control group., Conclusion: THRE can protect high sustained +Gz stress-induced myocardial mitochondrial injury in rats as was shown to ameliorate respiratory function and increase activities of antioxidant enzymes and ATPases.

Objective: To compare the liver function index and clinical characters in 122 patients with acute hepatitis E virus overlapping with other infection., Methods: The liver function index and clinical characters of 122 patients with acute hepatitis E virus overlapping infection and 40 patients with acute hepatitis E were retrospectively analyzed., Results: No significant differences of ALT, AST, TBIL, DBIL were found between acute hepatitis E groups and overlapping infection hepatitis A or hepatitis B (P > 0.05). However, there were significant differences of Albumin (ALB) and Globulin (GLO) were found between acute hepatitis E groups and overlapping infection hepatitis B (P < 0.01). In acute hepatitis E overlapping infected hepatitis B or hepatitis A patients, more and severe complications were also observed., Conclusion: The patients with acute Hepatitis E virus, especially Hepatitis E virus overlapping infection, need to pay more clinical monitor, prevent complication early and lower death rates.

Aim: To determine whether repetitive exposure to high sustained +Gz acceleration induces persisting changes in the myocardial free radical metabolism and observe the protective effects of low-G training and antioxidant tea polyphenols (TP)., Methods: Thirty-two male Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups (n=8 each): group A, restrained, was only submitted to +1 Gz for 5 min. Group B, centrifuged, was exposed to five plateaus of 30 s at +10 Gz for intermittent times, three times a week, for three weeks. Group C, low-G trained, was exposed to +2 Gz for 5 min about 1 h prior to +10 Gz stress, and group D was orally given TP at dose of 200 mg/kg about 1 h prior to +10 Gz stress. On the next day morning after last centrifuge run, the rats were decapitated and the hearts were quickly removed. Malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity were measured. Additionally, CuZn-SOD and inducible NO synthase (iNOS) enzymatic contents were examined by immunohistochemical staining and their mRNA were analyzed by semi-quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)., Results: Compared with group A, MDA concentration and iNOS enzymatic content in myocardial mitochondria were increased significantly (P < 0.05) in group B. Compared with group B, mitochondrial SOD activity was significantly increased in group C (P < 0.05). iNOS enzymatic content was significantly decreased in group C and D. There were no significant differences of CuZn-SOD content, CuZn-SOD and iNOS mRNA levels among the four groups., Conclusion: Repeated high +Gz exposure can induce myocardial free radical metabolic disorder and mainly result in mitochondrial peroxidative injury. But low-G training and natural antioxidant TP have protective effects, and the former is better.

Objective: To observe the structure-activity and time-effect relations of the central stimulating effects of modafinil for further pharmaceutical design and development and rational use of this kind of stimulant., Method: Male mice served as subjects. The experiment was divided into two parts: 1) comparison between the dose (60, 120, 240 mg/kg) and temporal features of the effects of modafinil and its two derivatives on locomotor activity of mice; 2) Observation of the stimulating effects of modafinil (120 mg/kg) given during the day or night., Result: Modafinil could significantly increase the locomotor activity of mice in a dose-dependent way, the effect was best observed at the concentration of 120 mg/kg. The stimulating action of modafinil was increased by chlorination, but decreased by methylation. The central stimulating effect of modafinil showed no significant circadian difference., Conclusion: The central stimulating effect of modafinil shows dose and time-related features. The effect tends to be enhanced by Chlorination but reduced by methylation.

Objective: To further test the protective effect of low-G pre-conditioning on +Gz stress induced cardiac damage., Method: Forty-two male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups (n=14 for each group): group A (+1 Gz group), group B (+10 Gz group) and group C (low-G pre-conditioning group). The rats in group B were exposed to five +10 Gz plateaus of 30 s with 1 min intervals at +1 Gz, 3 times a week, for 3 weeks; while group A were only submitted to +1 Gz for 5 min. The rats in group C were exposed to +2 Gz for 5 min about 1 h prior to +10 Gz stress. All the animals were decapitated in the next day after the last centrifuge run and function of the isolated working hearts and contents of endothelin and prostacycline in the myocardium were observed., Result: Compared with the control, a significant decrease of left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP) and increase of myocardial contents of endothelin in rats were observed after repeated +10 Gz exposure; but low-G pre-conditioning could remarkably elevate the LVSP and reduce the myocardial endothelin level in rats after repeated +10 Gz stress., Conclusion: Low-G pre-conditioning has a significant protective effect on contractive ability of the left ventricle and secretion function of the vascular endothelium in rat heart after high G stress.

Objective: To observe whether repeated +Gz exposures could induce metabolic disorder of cardiac catecholamines in rats as well as the protective effects of low-G preconditioning and tea polyphenols (TP)., Method: Thirty-two male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups (n=8): group A (control), only submitted to +1 Gz 5 min; group B (+10 Gz stress), exposed to +10 Gz 30 s, 5 times/d with +1 Gz 1 min interval, 3 d/wk, for 3 wk in total; group C (low G preconditioning), +Gz stress parameters were the same to that of group B, but the rats were submitted to +2 Gz 5 min 1 h prior to +10 Gz exposure; group D (TP protection), + Gz stress parameters were the same to that of group B, but TP was given orally to the rats at the dose of 200 mg/kg 1 h prior to +10 Gz exposure. These animals were decapitated on the next morning of the last centrifuge run, and the hearts were taken out and stored in liquid nitrogen immediately. The contents of noradrenaline (NA), adrenaline (AD), dopamine (DA) and serotonin (5-HT) in myocardial tissue were determined using HPLC with electrochemical detector., Result: Compared with group A, AD level in group B increased significantly (P < 0.01), but there were no significant differences of NA, DA and 5-HT contents between the two groups. Compared with group B, the myocardial contents of AD and 5-HT were decreased significantly in group C and D (P<0.01), while myocardial DA concentration in group D increased significantly (P<0.01)., Conclusion: Repeated +10 Gz exposures could induce metabolic disorder of catecholamines in rat heart, especially the increase of AD level. Low-G preconditioning and natural antioxidant TP had significant protective effects.

Objective: To investigate the effects of modafinil, a new central stimulant, on visual and auditory motion reaction ability and subjective fatigue level during 48 h sleep deprivation (SD)., Method: Six male healthy young volunteers were exposed to two 48 h periods of continuous wakefulness during the crossover experiment. In one period, three 200 mg doses of modafinil were given and in the other, separated by two weeks, matching placebos were administered. The SD time started from 7:00 of the first day to 7:00 of the third day. Drugs were given at 0:00, 16:00 of the second day and 0:00 of the third day. Variables, including visual and auditory motion reaction time, attention distribution, critical flicker fusion frequency (CFF), Stanford sleepiness scale (SSS) and rating of perceived exertion (RPE), were tested at 21:00 of the first day and 1, 3, 5, 7 h after each drug administration., Result: After 2-3 does of modafinil, the CFF level was obviously enhanced while the scores of Stanford sleepiness scale and RPE were markedly reduced. The visual and auditory motion reaction ability, as well as the attention distribution, showed no significant change., Conclusion: Modafinil can effectively reduced the subjective fatigue and sleepiness levels during SD.

Objective. To determine the changes of several myocardial enzymes in rats after repeated high +Gz exposure and the protective effects of preconditioning of low-G exposure and tea polyphenols (TP). Method. Thirty-two male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups (n = 8 each): control group (group A), +10 Gz group (group B), low-G preconditioning group (group C) and TP protection group (group D). Group B, C and D were exposed to repeated +10 Gz stress (each for 30s, 5 times/d with +1 Gz 1 min intervals, 3 d/wk, 3 weeks in total), but group A was only submitted to +1 Gz for 5 min. Group C was exposed to +2 Gz for 5 min about 1 h prior to +10 Gz stress. Additionally, TP (200 mg/kg) was given orally to group D about 1 h prior to the +Gz experiment, while distilled water was given to groups A, B and C instead. On the next day after the last centrifuge run, the hearts were taken out immediately for making frozen tissue sections. Enzyme histochemical staining and image analysis were carried out for acid phosphatase (ACP), succinate dehydrogenase (SDH), cytochromeoxidase (Cyt aa3) and adenosine triphosphatase (ATPase). Result. As compared with the control, the activities of ACP and SDH in +10 Gz stressed rats decreased significantly (P<0.05), and there was a declining trend for Cyt aa3. But, low-G preconditioning and TP had protective effects on +10 Gz stress-induced reduction of these enzymatic activities (P<0.05). Conclusion. The results showed that repeated high +Gz exposure could bring about decreases of activities in ACP (the marker enzyme of lysosome) and SDH (the marker enzyme of mitochondrial endomembrane), which indicated a reduction of oxidative metabolism in myocardial tissue; but preconditioning with low-G and natural antioxidant TP had protective effects.

Objective: To investigate the change of lipid peroxidation in various organs of rats after repeated +10 Gz stress., Method: Twenty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into control (+1 Gz) group and +10 Gz group (n = 10 for each group ). The two groups were exposed to +1 Gz or +10 Gz on an animal centrifuge respectively. The onset rate of +Gz was 0.5 G/s; the sustained time at peak +Gz was 30 s each time, with 5 times/d, 1 min intervals, 3 d/wk, 3 wk in total. The rats were decapitated in ice bath on the next day after the last +Gz exposure. The lung, heart, liver and kidney of rats were collected for the following determinations. These organs were made into homogenates and the mitochondria of heart and kidney were isolated from their homogenates. Then malondialdehyde (MDA) content , superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and glutathion (GSH) concentration in these homogenates and mitochondria were determined individually., Result: Compared with the control, MDA concentration in myocardial mitochondria increased significantly (P < 0.01) after repeated +10 Gz exposures, and the SOD activity in liver homogenate and renal mitochondria decreased remarkably (P < 0. 01). But there was no significant difference between GSH concentrations of the two groups., Conclusion: Repeated +10 Gz stress induced lipid peroxidation injury of myocardial mitochondria and had some influences on the oxygen radical metabolism of liver and kidney in rats.

Objective. To observe the protective effects of natural antioxidant tea polyphenols (TP) on repeated mild hypobaric hypoxia induced pulmonary free radical metabolic disorder in mice. Method. Fourty-two male Kunming mice were randomly divided into three groups (n=14 each): normal control (A); 1500 in mild hypobaric hypoxia (B) and TP protection group (C). The exposure time in hypobaric chamber was 2 h/d, 3d/wk, 8 wk in total. Before hypoxic exposure, TP was orally given to group C at a dose of 100 mg/kg, while distilled water was given to the other two groups. After experiment, the mice were decapitated on the next day and the lung was quickly removed. The malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and nitric oxide (NO) content were measured. In addition, Cu, Zn-SOD and inducible NO synthase (iNOS) enzymatic contents in lung were were qualitatively examined by immunohistochemical assaying. Result. Compared with the control group, pulmonary MDA concentration and NO content were significantly increased after chronic mild hypobaric hypoxic exposures (P<0.01) but the MDA formation and NO generation in TP protection group were restored to normal. Pulmonary SOD activity in group B tended to increase. Cu, Zn-SOD expression in endothelial cells of bronchioli and iNOS contents in endothelial cells of bronchioli and endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells in pulmonary interstitial vessels were significantly elevated after repeated mild hypobaric hypoxic exposure. These enzymatic abnormal expressions regained to normal after administration of TP. Conclusion. Natural antioxidant TP had protective effects on repeated mild hypobaric hypoxia induced pulmonary free radical metabolic disorder.

Objective: To observe the protective effects of natural antioxidant tea polyphenols(TP) on myocardial free radical metabolic disorder in mice induced by inhalation of hypobaric pure oxygen under 5500 m hypobaric condition., Method: Forty-two male Kunming mice were randomly divided into three groups (n = 14 each): group A, normal control; group B, inhalation of pure oxygen (> 96 %) at simulated altitude of 5500 m in an animal altitude chamber; group C (TP protection group), same as group B but 100 mg/kg of TP was given orally before the exposure. The exposure time was 2 h/d, 3 d/wk for a total of 8 wk, and distilled water was given to groups A and B before exposure. After experiment, the mice were decapitated on the next day and the heart was quickly removed. Malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and nitric oxide (NO) content were measured. In addition, Cu, Zn-SOD and inducible NO synthase (iNOS) enzymatic contents in myocardial tissue were qualitatively examined by immunohistochemical assaying., Result: Compared with the control, MDA concentration, SOD activity and Cu, Zn-SOD enzymatic content in group B were significantly increased (P < 0. 05). But in TP protection group, myocardial MDA formation was significantly decreased (P < 0. 01) and SOD activity and Cu, Zn-SOD expression restored to normal. On the contrary, myocardial NO generation and iNOS expression were significantly reduced after repeated inhalation of hypobaric oxygen at 5500 m. NO metabolism regained to normal after repeated administration of TP., Conclusion: Natural antioxidant TP had protective effects on myocardial free radical metabolic disorder induced by inhalation of hypobaric pure oxygen under 5500 m hypobaric condition.

Objective: To investigate the inhibitory effects of tea polyphenols (TP) and Vitamin C (Vit C) on FeSO4-cysteine induced lipid peroxidation in isolated human plasma and carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) induced liver free radical injury in mice., Method: The experiment included two parts: (1) In FeSO4-cysteine induced lipid peroxidation system of isolated human plasma, malondialdehyde (MDA) content was detected after administration of different concentrations of TP (0.3 ~ 8.1 mg/L, as C ~ F group) and Vit C (3 ~ 81 mg/L, as G ~ J group) respectively; (2) Thirty-six male Kunming mice were randomly divided into four groups: control group (A), CCl4 damage group (B), TP protection group (C) and Vit C protection group (D). TP or Vit C (100 mg/kg) was given orally to group C and D respectively, while the same volume of distilled water was given to the other two groups one time every day, continued for three days. Twelve hours after the final treatment, CCl4 (230 mg/kg) was given orally to group B ~ D. Thirty six hours later, all the mice were decapitated and liver homogenate were prepared for measuring MDA content., Result: In FeSO4-cysteine induced lipid peroxidation in isolated human plasma, the inhibitory rate of TP (0.3 ~ 8.1 mg/L) was 30.7%, 32.0%, 46.9% and 59.7 %, and the inhibitory rate of Vit C (3 ~ 8.1 mg/L) was 8.3%, 41.4%, 47.7% and 52.7% for various dosages. In the CCl4 induced liver free radical injury system, the inhibitory rate of the same dosage of TP and Vit C was 45.2%, 42.8% respectively., Conclusion: TP (0.3 ~ 8.1 mg/L) and Vit C (9 ~ 81 mg/L) had inhibited lipid peroxidation induced by FeSO4-cysteine in isolated human plasma significantly, and the inhibitory effects of TP was superior to that of Vit C at the same dosages. The same dosage of TP and Vit C had remarkable inhibitory effects on the CCl4 induced liver free radical injury, but there was no significant difference between the two groups.

Objective. To investigate the effects of two types of simulated flight conditions (hypobaric hypoxia and hypobaric oxygen inhalation) on free radical metabolism in various organs of mice. Method. Sixty male Kunming mice were randomly divided into six groups (n=10 each). The experiment comprises two parts. The first part included three groups: normal controls (A1), 1500 m hypobaric hypoxia for 4 wk (B1) and 8 wk (C1). The second part included another three groups: normal control (A2), 5500 m hypobaric oxygen inhalation for 4 wk (B2) and 8 wk (C2). The exposure time in hypobaric chamber was 2 h/d, 3 d/wk. After experiment, caudal blood was taken for routine examination. The mice were decapitated on the next day and brain, heart, lung, liver and kidney homogenates were prepared for measuring malondialdehyde (MDA) content and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity. Result. Lipid peroxides in lung was significantly increased in C1 group, and the content of myocardial MDA and myocardial SOD activities in C2 group were markedly higher than those in A2 group. There were no significant differences among body weights, mean corpuscular indices and hemoglobin content in the normal control, hypobaric hypoxia and hypobaric oxygen inhalation groups. It demonstrates that repeated mild hypobaric hypoxia for 8 wk causes free radical damage of lung and repeated exposure to 5500 m hypobaric oxygen inhalation for 8 wk may lead to myocardial peroxidative injury in mice. Conclusion. Simulated flight hypobaric hypoxia and oxygen inhalation may lead to free radicals damage of lung and myocardial peroxidative injury in mice.

Objective. To observe the effects of tea polyphenols (TP) on cardiac function and myocardial ultrastructure in rats after repeated +10 Gz stress. Method. Twenty four male Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups (n=8 each): group A (control), group B (+10 Gz), group C (+Gz with TP). Group B and C were repeatedly exposed to +10 Gz (each for 30 s, onset rate about 0.5 G/s, 3 times/d with +1 Gz 1 min intervals, 3 d/wk, 4 weeks in total), but group A was only submitted to +1 Gz. TP (200 mg kg-1) was given orally to group C about 1 h prior to the +Gz experiment, and distilled water was given to group A and B. Function of isolated rat working hearts and myocardial ultrastructure were observed. Result. A significant decrease of left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP) and injury of myocardial structure in rats were demonstrated after repeated +10 Gz stress. But TP could remarkably elevate the LVSP and improve myocardial ultrastructural injury in +10 Gz stressed rats. Conclusion. These results indicated that repeated high G exposure may produce cardiac structural and functional injuries in rats which might be partly related to free radical metabolism; and antioxidant TP had significant protective effects on the hearts of +Gz stressed rats.

Objective: To observe the effects of repeated +10 Gz stress on cerebral lipid peroxidation, liver and renal function in rats and the prophylactic effects of antioxidant tea polyphenols (TP)., Method: Twenty-four male Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups (n = 8, each): group A (control), group B (+10 Gz), and group C (TP). Group B and C were exposed to repeated +10 Gz stress (each for 30s, onset rate about 0.5 G/s, 3 times/d with +1 Gz 1 min intervals, 3 d/wk, 4 weeks in total), but group A was only submitted to +1 Gz. TP (200 mg/kg) was given orally in group C about 1 h prior to the +Gz experiment, while distilled water was given in group A and B. Lipid peroxidation in the brain, liver and renal functions and serum lipids were determined., Results: As compared with the control, lipid peroxidation in rat cerebral homogenate, mitochondria and cytoplasm was significantly increased (P < 0. 05), and serum creatinine concentration was markedly elevated after repeated +10 Gz stress (P < 0. 01). But, TP had significant inhibitory effect on +10 Gz stress induced peroxidative injury in rat brain and reduced the serum creatinine level. There were no differences of serum triglyceride and total cholesterol concentrations and glutamic-pyruvic transaminase activity among the three groups., Conclusion: These results indicated that repeated high +Gz stress could bring about peroxidative injury in brain and harmful effect on renal function, and natural antioxidant TP had significant protective effects.
