BackgroundSocial support and e-health literacy are closely related to individual health behaviors, while behavior is premised on decision-making. Few studies have identified the relationships among social support, e-health literacy, and behavioral decision-making, and the nature of these relationships among pregnant women with gestational diabetes remains unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate relationships among social support, e-health literacy, and glycemic management behavioral decisions in pregnant women with gestational diabetes.MethodsUsing continuous sampling, an online cross-sectional survey was conducted among pregnant women with gestational diabetes who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria at four Class 3 hospitals in Fujian Province from October to December 2023. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data on general characteristics, socioeconomic status, social support, e-health literacy, and behavioral decision-making regarding glycemic management. Descriptive statistical analyses, correlation analyses, and mediation effects were used to assess associations.ResultsA total of 219 pregnant women with gestational diabetes participated, and 217 valid results were obtained. ABSTRACT Cold stress can limit the growth and development of grapevines, which can ultimately reduce productivity. However, the mechanisms by which grapevines respond to cold stress are not yet fully understood. Here, we characterized an APETALA2/ethylene response factor (AP2/ERF) which was shown to be a target gene of our previously identified VaMYB4a from Amur grape. We further investigated the molecular interactions between VaMYB4a and VaERF054‐like transcription factors in grapes and their role in cold stress tolerance. Our results demonstrated that VaMYB4a directly binds to and activates the VaERF054‐like gene promoter, leading to its enhanced expression. Moreover, we also explored the influence of ethylene precursors and inhibitors on VaERF054‐like expression and grape cold tolerance. Our findings indicate that VaERF054‐like contribute to cold tolerance in grapes through modulation of the ethylene pathway and the CBF signal pathway. Overexpression of VaERF054‐like in Vitis vinifera ‘Chardonnay’ calli and transgenic grape lines resulted in increased freezing stress tolerance, confirming its role in the cold stress response. We further confirmed the interaction between VaMYB4a and VaERF054‐like in vivo and in vitro. The co‐transformation of VaMYB4a and VaERF054‐like in grape calli demonstrates a synergistic interaction, enhancing the cold tolerance through a regulatory feedback mechanism. Background: Diabetic foot infections (DFIs) are the most complex and challenging pathological state, characterized by high complexity of management, morbidity, and mortality. Empirical antimicrobial administration is needed before the identification of the causative organisms. Microbiological profile of the diabetic foot patients is the basis of the antibiotic choice for clinicians. Methods: 76 patients visiting the Diabetic Foot Center of our Hospital for having ulcers with Wagner 3 to 5 were retrospectively surveyed for the bacterium infected. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) was implemented and the results were interpreted on the basis of the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) guidelines. Results: A total of 92 isolates were obtained, of which 47 strains of gram-negative bacilli (GNB) accounted for 51.1%, 41 strains of gram-positive cocci (GPC) accounted for 44.6%, and 4 strains of fungi accounted for 4.3%. Species of Enterobacteriaceae and Staphylococcus are the two predominant strains. The top 4 most frequently isolated strains were Staphylococcus aureus (22.8%), enterococcus faecalis (9.8%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (9.8%), Escherichia coli (5.4%). The rate of resistance to methicillin was 33.3% for S. aureus. The rate of extended-spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs) production among E. coli was 60%. 50% of Klebsiella pneumoniae were resistant to carbapenems. P. aeruginosa showed high sensitivity to commonly used antibiotics. There was one isolate of Acinetobacter spp. resistant to most antimicrobials except tigecycline and aminoglycosides. Conclusion: Enterobacteriaceae and Staphylococcus are the two predominant species. The resistance to antibiotics of S. aureus and P. aeruginosa showed optimistic results. Patients with hematologic malignancies are often immunodeficient and therefore have a higher risk of severe symptoms from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). We retrospectively examined a cohort of 289 patients from 16 hospitals in Zhejiang Province who had hematologic malignancies and COVID-19 during a period when the Omicron variant was predominant. Univariate analysis showed that some clinical characteristics, including elder age (P = 0.014), multiple comorbid conditions (P = 0.011), and receipt of active antineoplastic therapy (P = 0.018) were associated with an increased risk of severe COVID-19. Patients with severe/critical COVID-19 had significantly lower levels of lymphocytes and serum albumin, and significantly higher levels of D-dimer, lactate dehydrogenase, C-reactive protein, and interleukin-6 (all P < 0.05). Fifty-four patients (18.7%) had symptoms lasting ≥3 weeks, suggesting that persistent long-term COVID-19 infection is likely present in a significant proportion of patients. Receipt of the inactivated vaccine was unrelated to disease severity (P = 0.143), which indicated that many patients with hematologic malignancies may not have effective humoral immunity to inactivated vaccines.
