Abstract

The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory is a neutrino experiment that incorporates 20,012 20-inch photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) and 25,600 3-inch PMTs. A dedicated system was designed to protect the PMTs from an implosion chain reaction underwater. As a crucial element of the protection system, over 20,000 acrylic covers were manufactured through injection molding, ensuring high dimensional precision, mechanical strength, and transparency. Abstract

Piperazines are a class of new psychoactive substances with hallucinogenic effects that affect the central nervous system by affecting the level of monoamine neurotransmitters. Abuse of piperazines will produce stimulating and hallucinogenic effects, accompanied by headache, dizziness, anxiety, insomnia, vomiting, chest pain, tachycardia, hypertension and other adverse reactions, and may even cause cardiovascular diseases and multiple organ failure and lead to death, seriously affecting human physical and mental health and public safety. The abuse of new psychoactive substance piperazines has attracted extensive attention from the international community. The study of its pharmacological toxicology and analytical methods has become a research hotspot in the field of forensic medicine. This paper reviews the in vivo processes, sample treatment and analytical methods of existing piperazines, in order to provide reference for forensic identification.

Abstract

Photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) are widely used underwater in large-scale neutrino experiments. As a hollow glass spherelike structure, implosion is unavoidable during long-term operation under large water pressure. There is a possibility of cascade implosion to neighbor PMTs due to shockwave. Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory designed a protection structure for each 20-inch PMT, consisting of a top cover, a bottom cover, and their connection. This paper introduces the requirement and design of the PMT protection system, including the material selection, investigation of manufacture technology, and prototyping. Abstract

The Jiangmen underground neutrino observatory (JUNO) is a neutrino project with a 20-kton liquid scintillator detector located at 700-m underground. The large 20-inch PMTs are one of the crucial components of the JUNO experiment aiming to precision neutrino measurements with better than 3% energy resolution at 1 MeV. The excellent energy resolution and a large fiducial volume provide many exciting opportunities for addressing important topics in neutrino and astro-particle physics. With the container #D at JUNO Pan-Asia PMT testing and potting station, the features of waterproof potted 20-inch PMTs were measured with JUNO 1F3 electronics prototype in waveform and charge, which are valuable for better understanding on the performance of the waterproof potted PMTs and the JUNO 1F3 electronics. In this paper, basic features of JUNO 1F3 electronics prototype run at Pan-Asia will be introduced, followed by an analysis of the waterproof potted 20-inch PMTs and a comparison with the results from commercial electronics used by the container #A and #B.

Abstract

Multilingual neural machine translation (MNMT) with a single model has drawn more attention due to its capability to deal with multiple languages.However,the current multilingual translation paradigm does not make use of the similar features embodied in different languages,which has already been proven useful for improving the multilingual translation.Besides,the training of multilingual model is usually very time-consuming due to the huge amount of training data.To address these problems,we propose a similarity-based curriculum learning method to improve the overall performance and convergence speed.We propose two hierarchical criteria for measuring the similarity,one is for ranking different languages (inter-language) with singular vector canonical correlation analysis,and the other is for ranking different sentences in a particular language (intra-language) with cosine similarity.At the same time,the paper proposes a curriculum learning strategy that takes the loss of validation set as the curriculum replacement standard.We conduct experiments on balanced and unbalanced IWSLT multilingual data sets and Europarl corpus datasets.The results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms strong multilingual translation systems and can achieve up to a 64% decrease in training time.
