Abstract Background As one of the common adverse reactions after chemotherapy in breast cancer patients, chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) seriously affects the quality of life of breast cancer patients. Objective To explore the application effect of nurse‐led CINV management scheme based on risk assessment in breast cancer patients. Methods The researchers selected 90 breast cancer patients who received chemotherapy at Jiangsu Cancer Hospital from June 1, 2022, to June 1, 2023. The patients were divided into control group and intervention group. The control group implemented the routine nursing mode, and the intervention group implemented the nurse‐led intervention program based on risk assessment. On this basis, the intervention group applied the symptom management theory to the construction of intervention strategy to compare the CINV situation, quality of life, and psychological distress level between the two groups. Abstract The study aimed to systematically compare the effects of psychological interventions on relieving fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) by a systematic review and network meta‐analysis (NMA). The relevant randomized controlled trials were searched from China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Database, VIP Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, Cochrane Library, Pubmed, Web of Science, CINAHL, PsycINFO, and Embase. The retrieval time was from the establishment of each database to January 23, 2024. Review Manager 5.4 software was used to evaluate the quality of each literature that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Stata16.0 was used for NMA. Standardized mean differences (SMDs) of patients' FCR outcomes and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to determine the effects. Inconsistency test, network map, surface under the cumulative rankings curve (SUCRA), comparison‐adjusted funnel plot were performed. A total of 41 articles were included, with 4056 patients and 15 psychological interventions. Six psychological interventions (NT, Narrative Therapy; ACT, Accept and Commitment Therapy; GT, Therapy based on Gratitude‐Expanded Behavior Theory; Blend Cognitive Behavior Therapy; PERMA, PERMA Therapy; CBT, Cognitive Behavior Therapy) were effective in alleviating FCR in the short term compared with usual care, whereas the effects of ACT, GT, and CBT were sustained up to more than 3 months postintervention. NT ranked as most likely to alleviate FCR, (SUCRA: 89.8%, SMD: −2.89, 95% CI: −4.08 to −1.69), followed by ACT (SUCRA: 88.1%, SMD: −2.83, 95% CI: −4.38 to −1.27) in short‐term effects. GT ranked as most likely to alleviate FCR in long‐term effects (SUCRA: 100%, SMD: −3.35, 95% CI: −4.21 to −2.50), followed by ACT (SUCRA: 88.9%, SMD: −1.64, 95% CI: −2.36 to −0.91). However, most of the quality of evidence for pairwise comparison was rated as “very low” to “low.” The evidence can help inform evidence‐based practice and guide healthcare providers in deciding on the most effective psychological interventions for FCR, which should also be viewed with caution due to the low level of the quality.

Objectives: Providing satisfactory healthcare services for breast cancer survivors can effectively reduce their burden and the pressure on medical resources. The aim of this study was to explore health care service demands for community-dwelling breast cancer survivors using the Kano model. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted from January to March 2023 among breast cancer survivors discharged from a tertiary cancer hospital. Participants were asked to fill out a self-designed questionnaire involving the Kano model, which helped to categorize and prioritize the attributes of healthcare services. The questionnaire included 30 health care services. Additionally, their social demographic characteristics were collected during the survey. Results: A total of 296 valid questionnaires were collected, and demand attributes of the 30 health care services were evaluated. The findings revealed that one of 30 services was classified as “must-be attributes” (body image management), 13 as “one-dimensional attributes” (focused on medical security support, health management, and health counseling), 3 as “attractive attributes” (focused on communication needs and telehealth services), and 11 as “indifferent attributes” (mainly in the area of psycho-social services). Conclusions: Breast cancer survivors in the community have different levels of need for various health care services. It’s crucial for healthcare providers to identify these needs and devise effective strategies to deliver the appropriate services. Services with must-be and one-dimensional attributes should be given priority, and efforts should be made to provide services with attractive attributes, hence improving the quality of life of breast cancer survivors.

Abstract Radiodermatitis, inflammatory lesions of skin and mucosa caused by radiation, is a common adverse effect during the radiation therapy of vulvar carcinoma. The incidence of radiodermatitis is affected by various factors, and the purpose of this study was to investigate the risk factors of radiodermatitis in patients with vulvar carcinoma. Patients with vulvar tumors who received radiotherapy from January 2015 to December 2020 were included in this retrospective study. Radiodermatitis was graded according to the grading criteria of the American Center for Radiological Oncology, and then univariate analysis and logistic multivariate regression analysis were used to determine the risk factors of radiodermatitis. A total of 60 eligible patients were enrolled, including 3 (5%), 25 (41.7%), 28 (46.7%), and 4 (6.6%) patients with grade 0, 1, 2, and 3 radiodermatitis, respectively. Abstract Along with the increasing of infections of COVID‐19, nurses are needed more in caring patients with COVID‐19. The aim of this study is to explore the real intention and influencing factors of the nurses' willingness to participate in public health emergency in facing the COVID‐19. A total of 10 nurses who volunteered to care patients with COVID‐19 were selected. Data were collected by semi‐structured interviews and analyzed by content analysis method based on the theory of planned behavior. Three main categories were attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavior control. Under the first category, two subcategories were included: nurses' personal and professional value expectation, patriotism. Two subcategories were yielded for the second category: support from family and friends, role model impact of important people. In addition, three subcategories were identified for the third category: physical condition, professional knowledge and skills, national measures and incentive policies. Nurses with high willingness have seven features: high value expectation, patriotism, generous family support, good physical condition, experienced professional knowledge and skills, awareness of national measures and incentive policies. Combined with our previous quantitative study, developing tailored training programs to improve nurses’ professional value expectation, knowledge and skills in coping with unwilling attitude and weak perceived behavior control are effective ways.

Abstract To explore the practical application and effect of the management plan for cancer patients with wounds/stomas based on the “Internet+” model during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) pandemic. Based on the specific situation during the COVID‐19 pandemic, we established the “Internet+” management team for cancer patients with wounds/stomas. After systematical literature search and brainstorming analysis, we developed a management plan for cancer patients with wounds/stomas based on the “Internet+” model. Then, we included cancer patients with wounds/stomas who needed follow‐up visits or consultations at Jiangsu Cancer Hospital from January 25 to April 30, 2020. A total of 304 patients were participated in the study. The effects of the plan were evaluated including patient satisfaction, the proportion of patients who did not need to go to the hospital for treatment, the proportion of patients with improved symptoms and the rate of the patients or nurses contracted COVID‐19. After the implementation of the plan, 56.3% of the patients mastered the relevant self‐care methods under the guidance of specialist nurses and did not need to go to the hospital for treatment. A total of 89.5% of the patients showed improvement in symptoms, and 99.4% of the patients were satisfied with the online treatment. None of the patients or nurses contracted COVID‐19. The “Internet+” management plan for cancer patients with wounds/stomas during the COVID‐19 pandemic had supported epidemic prevention and control in medical institutions and reduced the risk of cross infection. In addition, this type of plan effectively improved disease symptoms in the patients, and their level of satisfaction was high.

Abstract Background To explore the application and effect of standardized health education pathway in patients undergoing EBUS‐TNBA. Methods Hundred and one patients undergoing EBUS‐TBNA for the first time from September 2017 to June 2018 were divided into the study group and the control group. Patients in the control group (n = 50)received routine health education, while those in the study group (n = 51) received health education intervention based on the standardized health education pathway. Differences of anxiety, heart rate and oxygen saturation recovery time, success rate of first intubation attempt, and patient satisfaction between the two groups were observed. Results Basic information of patients in the two groups was comparable (P > .05). Background: Cancer and its treatment significantly impact the quality of life (QOL) of adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients. This meta-analysis examined the effects of exercise interventions on the generic and cancer-specific QOL of AYA cancer patients and survivors. Methods: Four databases were searched from January 2010 to September 2019. RevMan 5.3 was used to synthesize the effects of exercise intervention on the QOL of AYA cancer patients and survivors. Results: A total of 11 eligible studies have been included in this paper. Direct outcome comparisons found that pooled overall effects on generic QOL were in favor of exercise interventions, but only with marginal significance (Z= 1.96, P = 0.05). When performing the subscale analysis of the generic QOL, three trials assessed the effects of exercise interventions on the emotional domain of QOL, and the weighted mean difference (WMD) for the overall intervention effect was 3.47 (95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.42 to 6.51). Additionally, exercise interventions increased the minutes of physical activity per week undertaken by AYA cancer patients and survivors (Z= 2.88, P = 0.004). Conclusion: Exercise interventions had positive effects on generic QOL and increased the minutes of physical activity per week undertaken by AYA cancer patients and survivors. In addition, exercise intervention programs appear to be safe, as there were no studies that reported adverse events. Future research, with rigorous methodological standards and larger sample sizes, should be designed to confirm the positive effects of exercise interventions on the QOL of AYA cancer patients and survivors.

Certain diseases or infections affect large number of people in short span of time. A local endemic disease can outbreak into an epidemic affecting the whole population or region which at times extend to other countries and continents and become pandemic. Pandemics results in loss of life as well as economy. Pooled efforts and resources, effective sharing of data, parallel multiple approaches as well as physical and mental state of front line staff influence management of pandemics. The coronavirus disease COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 started in December 2019 from Wuhan in China, is now a worldwide public health emergency affecting millions of people. It affects many frontline healthcare workers too. Here, we studied psychological stress and professional identity of nursing students for possible correlations, if any, and analyze influencing factors. We used purposive sampling technique with 415 nursing students in Nanjing, China through a general information questionnaire, perceived stress scale and nursing professional identity questionnaire. Students' origin, monthly living expenses and their knowledge on epidemic prevention and treatment have shown a significant impact on their psychological stress (P <0.01). Similarly, students' gender, origin, clinical practices and knowledge of prevention and treatment, and whether they actively learn such knowledge impact significantly on their professional identity (P <0.01). The overall score of psychological stress was (24.47±7.35) and professional identity had 72.47±8.07. The stress condition exhibited negative correlation with the degree of professional identity (P <0.01,r = 0.457). Increased psychological stress, had lower sense of professional identity. Overall, analysis of data on perceived stress and professional identity pandemic suggests that stress levels are inversely proportional to knowledge in effective ways of handling the pandemic. Students with clinical practice fared better in terms of professional identity. The study suggests nursing students to stay focused on studies, clinical practice and counselling, if required. Objectives: To investigate how post-traumatic growth (PTG) and moral sensitivity influence service behaviour among healthcare workers (HCWs) in mainland China post-COVID-19, with a focus on the mediating role of moral sensitivity., Design: Cross- sectional survey design., Setting: This study was conducted in 27 provinces across mainland China, from 16 March to 2 April 2023., Participants: 1,193 HCWs, including 378 physicians and 815 nurses, were selected using convenience and snowball sampling methods., Methods: The survey included the Post-traumatic Growth Inventory-Chinese version (PTGI-C), the Moral Sensitivity Questionnaire-Revised Chinese Version (MSQ-R-CV) and a service behaviour scale. Structural equation modelling was employed to analyse the data, focusing on the associations between PTG, moral sensitivity, and service behaviours., Results: The study found significant associations between PTG and moral sensitivity (r=0.49, p<0.01), with both factors positively influencing HCWs' service behaviours. Specifically, PTG had a direct effect on service behaviours ( β =0.172, p<0.01) and an indirect effect through moral sensitivity ( β =0.333, p<0.01), with moral sensitivity mediating 65.8% of PTG's impact on service behaviours. The model explained 56.0% of the variance in service behaviours, indicating a substantial influence of these psychological factors on professional conduct., Conclusions: The findings highlight the significant role of PTG and moral sensitivity in shaping the service behaviours of HCWs in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
