Protein tyrosine kinase 6 (PTK6) has shown important cancer‑promoting effects in a variety of cancer types. Nonetheless, its vital role in cervical cancer has not been completely elucidated. The present study sought to address whether PTK6 is involved in the malignant progression of cervical cancer via its interaction with GRB2‑associated binding 1 (GAB1). Western blotting was used to examine PTK6 and GAB1 expression levels. Cell Counting Kit‑8, Transwell, wound healing, and terminal deoxynucleotidyl‑transferase‑mediated dUTP nick end labeling assays were performed to estimate the corresponding proliferative, migratory, invasive, and apoptotic abilities of the cells. Co‑immunoprecipitation (Co‑IP) assays confirmed binding of PTK6 to GAB1. The results revealed that the expression levels of PTK6 and GAB1 were markedly increased in cervical cancer cell lines compared with those noted in normal cervical epithelial cells. The cell proliferative, invasive, and migratory activities of cervical cancer cells were reduced in the absence of PTK6 expression, whereas the induction of apoptosis was aggravated under these conditions. The results of the Co‑IP assay indicated that PTK6 expression was positively associated with GAB1. In addition, the suppressive effect of PTK6 silencing on the malignant phenotypes of cervical cancer cells was reversed following overexpression of GAB1. In summary, the present study indicated that knockdown of PTK6 expression protected against the malignant progression of cervical cancer, while overexpression of GAB1 counteracted the inhibitory effects of PTK6 knockdown on cervical cancer cells.

For shelf-life prolongation, the effect of super-chilling (SC, −1.5 °C) combined with food antistaling agents (FAAs) on the chemical and microbiological proprieties of chicken breast were investigated. The results showed a significant difference (P < .05) in protein solubility in the chicken breast stored under SC plus FAA for 8 and 16 days compared with 4 °C storage; dynamic rheological analysis revealed that they had better gel characteristics than those under SC or 4 °C storage. Moreover, SC with FAA significantly decreased the chicken breast pH, total viable count, total volatile basic nitrogen and thiobarbituric acid reactive substance contents, and electrical conductivity (P < .01), and significantly increased the water-holding capacity (P < .01). Conclusively, SC plus FAA storage is recommended for meat and meat products because of its effectiveness at preserving the quality of fresh chicken meat, providing longer shelf lives than chicken under SC or 4 °C storage.

Ship emissions contribute significantly to the deterioration of air quality, while their impacts on ambient PM2.5 and depositions have not been comprehensively evaluated. This is especially true for China because it has a long coastline, busy shipping routes and many large ports. To fill this gap, this study applied the SMOKE/WRF/CMAQ modeling system to quantifying the impacts of ships on PM2.5 compositions, annual and seasonal contribution to PM2.5 as well as the wet and dry deposition of nitrogen and sulfur compounds over the land areas in YRD region for 2014. The results showed that 4.0% of annual PM2.5 concentrations over the land areas could be explained by ship emissions and the largest contribution could reach up to 35.0% in port areas. Temporally, the contribution to PM2.5 exhibited an obviously seasonal variation. The highest contribution was predicted in autumn (6.2%), followed by summer (5.4%), spring (3.6%) and winter (1.2%) for the land areas. Spatially, the contribution reached up to 13.6% along the coastline and dropped to 2.1% 300 km inland. As for the impacts on PM2.5 components, the primary components were relatively small and increased mainly along the shipping routes and the Yangtze River, whereas the secondary components played a more important role in both water and land areas. The sulfur deposition due to ship emissions was occurred generally along the shipping routes and was dominated by the dry SO2 deposition. The nitrogen depositions, on the contrary, was observed not only along the shipping routes but also extend to wide land areas. Further investigation revealed that ship emissions have caused an evident increase of dry nitrogen deposition in NO2 and HNO3, while a slight decrease in NH3 over YRD region. These results indicated that comprehensive regulations of ship emissions are required considering their adverse effects on the ambient concentration of PM2.5 and the deposition of sulfur and nitrogen.

The massive use of Internet of Things (IoT) mobile devices (MDs) and the increasing demand for their computing have created huge challenges for the current development of the IoT. Mobile edge computing (MEC) and cloud computing provide a scheme for these problems. In the process of offloading, MDs and servers are facing difficulties such as high consumption and high latency. So it is necessary to reasonably offload computing tasks to MDs, edge servers, or cloud servers. In view of this situation, the research direction of this article is how to reduce the power consumption of the device and the server while ensuring that the delay requirements of different tasks are met. First we formulate the proposed problem as a nonlinear combinatorial optimization problem, then propose the cloud-edge-terminal collaboration offloading algorithm based on improved genetic algorithm (IGA). Finally, the characteristics of the algorithm are studied by simulation and compared with other algorithms to verify the performance of the algorithm.

Background: Osteonecrosis of the femoral head is a complication of systemic lupus erythematosus,that affect the patient's quality of life seriously.This article reviewed the radiographs of osteonecrosis of the femoral head in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and assessed the effect of using the greater trochanteric bone flap grafting with vascular pedicles.Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 17 patients (26 hips) with systemic lupus erythematosus who underwent the greater trochanteric bone flap grafting with vascular pedicles for the treatment of osteonecrosis of the femoral head. According to Ficat and Arlet classification, 16 hips were in stage II; 10 hips were in stage III. All patients were followed up for a mean of 32 months (ranging 12~48 months) and were assessed clinically and radiologically according to Harris scoring.Results: No hips were treated with total hip arthroplasty in the follow-up. The mean HHS was improved from preoperative 69.1 points (ranging 52–83 points) to postoperative 89.4 points (ranging 56–100 points). At the latest follow-up, of 26 hips, radiographically 21 hips (80.77%) were improved, 3 hips (11.54%) were unchanged and just 2 hips (7.69%) were worse.Conclusion: The greater trochanteric bone flap grafting with vascular pedicles was successful in maintaining joint function and in delaying the need for joint replacement procedure.

The implementation of China’s clean energy deployment policies has produced considerable benefits of ambient air quality improvement as well as the corresponding reduction of disease burden. However, few studies have focused on their quantification. In this study, we developed an integrated evaluation framework to assess the benefit of reduced disease burden resulting from the air quality improvement after the deployment of clean energy in Hebei Province, China. It was found that the pollutant emissions could be reduced by 18–45% and 33–66% under the General Policy (GP) and Strengthen Policy (SP) scenarios in 2030. The household sector has the largest reduction potential for all pollutant emissions, followed by the power sector with a considerable reduction effect on SO2 and NOx. The annual mean PM2.5 concentration was estimated to decrease from 52 μg m−3 under the Business as Usual (BAU) scenario to 40 μg m−3 under the SP scenario in 2030. Consequently, the disease burden due to air pollution would be reduced by 7499 and 12260 cases, respectively, under the GP and SP scenarios in 2030. Our study confirmed the effectiveness of clean energy deployment policies, and could provide scientific support and significant information to policymakers.

In order to study the characteristics of nitrous oxide (N2O) production and hydroxylamine (NH2OH) variation under oxic conditions, concentrations of NH2OH and N2O were simultaneously monitored in a short-cut nitrification sequencing batch reactor (SBR) operated with different influent ammonia concentrations. In the short-cut nitrification process, N2O production was increased with the increasing of ammonia concentration in influent. The maximum concentrations of dissolved N2O-N in the reactor were 0.11 mg/L and 0.52 mg/L when ammonia concentrations in the influent were 50 mg/L and 70 mg/L respectively. Under the low and medium ammonia load phases, the concentrations of NH2OH-N in the reactor were remained at a low level which fluctuated around 0.06 mg/L in a small range, and did not change with the variation of influent NH4+-N concentration. Based on the determination results, the half-saturation of NH2OH in the biochemical conversion process of NH2OH to NO2−-N was very small, and the value of 0.05 mg NH2OH-N/L proposed in the published literature was accurate. NH2OH is an important intermediate in the nitrification process, and the direct determination of NH2OH in the nitrification process was beneficial for revealing the kinetic process of NH2OH production and consumption as well as the effects of NH2OH on N2O production in the nitrification process.

Hydroxylamine, a very important intermediate in nitrification, has a direct relationship with the production of nitrous oxide in biological wastewater treatment processes. The spectrophotometric method taking ferric ammonium sulfate and 1, 10-phenanthroline as the oxidant and the chromogenic agent, respectively, was used to determine the concentration of hydroxylamine in biological wastewater treatment processes. The impacts of nitrite, nitrate, orthophosphate, calcium ion and trace elements on the method were examined. The results indicated that the spectrophotometric method can be used for the determination of hydroxylamine in biological wastewater treatment processes. The correlation was significant in the range of 0.02–1.00 mg N/L (y = 1.5078x − 0.0132, R 2 = 0.9991), and the range varied to 0.05–1.00 mg N/L when nitrite and orthophosphate presented. Nitrate, calcium ion and trace elements did not interfere with the determination of hydroxylamine nitrogen. When the concentrations of nitrite nitrogen in the samples were lower than 15.00 mg/L, nitrite had a minor interference on the method. The impacts of orthophosphate on the method were complex. When the concentrations of hydroxylamine nitrogen were higher than 0.10 mg/L, the interference of orthophosphate on the method can be ignored. However, when the concentrations of hydroxylamine nitrogen in the samples were lower than 0.10 mg/L, orthophosphate had significant impacts on the determination, and a numerical method proposed can eliminate the interference of orthophosphate. The spectrophotometric method can determine the concentration of hydroxylamine in biological wastewater treatment processes quickly and conveniently and was helpful to understand the function of NH2OH in N2O production in biological wastewater treatment processes.

This study incorporates three currently known nitrous oxide (N2O) production pathways: ammonium-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) denitrification, incomplete hydroxylamine (NH2OH) oxidation, and heterotrophic denitrification on intracellular polymers, into a mathematical model to describe N2O production in an anaerobic/oxic/anoxic (AOA) process for the first time. The developed model was calibrated and validated by four experimental cases, then evaluated by two independent anaerobic/aerobic (AO) studies from literature. The modeling results displayed good agreement with the measured data. N2O was primarily generated in the aerobic stage by AOB denitrification (67.84–81.64%) in the AOA system. Smaller amounts of N2O were produced via incomplete NH2OH oxidation (15.61–32.17%) and heterotrophic denitrification on intracellular polymers (0–12.47%). The high nitrite inhibition on N2O reductase led to the increased N2O accumulation in heterotrophic denitrification on intracellular polymers. The new model was capable of modeling nitrification-denitrification dynamics and heterotrophic denitrification on intracellular polymers in the AOA system.
