Based on two samples of gas leakage cases of the PE electrofusion socket for gas distribution systems within 22 and 25 years of service respectively, it was analyzed that the apparent performance and structural aging performance of electrofusion socket. The results suggested that it was happened to PE electrofusion socket of aging, decrease of thermo-oxidative stability and crystallinity, thus resulting in significant deterioration of structural performance in comparison to the pipe wall. In order to clarify the structural weakness of gas leakage, the failure analysis was carried out.

Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate the feasibility and potential of the Global Trigger Tool (GTT) for identifying the adverse drug events (ADEs) in patients with depression. Methods: In this study, the trigger items for antidepressants were developed base on the ‘Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) GTT for Measuring Adverse Events’ . Trigger detection of the medical records was carried out in 200 patients diagnosed with depression in a specialized hospital. Each medical record with the presence of any of the triggers was reviewed by two researchers respectively to determine whether it was an ADE, if so, ADE should be classified in severity, and involved system and primary suspected drug were identified. Logistic regression was performed to investigate risk factors associated with ADEs, and ADE detection rate and positive predictive value (PPV) were calculated to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of the triggers. Results: Triggers were detected for 162 times in 159 cases (79.5%), and 69 ADEs in 61 patients were identified by record reviewing. the PPV of the trigger tool was 42.59%. 79.7% were classified as category E, and 20.30% category F. ADEs were most likely to involve metabolic system (34.78%), manifested as hypokalemia, pathoglycemia and hypercholesterolemia. venlafaxine was most likely to cause AEs (32.56%), followed by paroxetine (22.09%). Risk factors for ADEs included the number of administrated antidepressants (p=0.008) and the number of concomitant drugs (p=0.014). Conclusion: The GTT is a feasible and effective tool for detecting ADEs of antidepressants for inpatients.

This current investigation was aimed to generate signals for adverse events (AEs) of darunavir-containing agents by data mining using the US Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS). All AE reports for darunavir, darunavir/ritonavir, or darunavir/cobicistat between July 2006 and December 2019 were identified. The reporting Odds Ratio (ROR), proportional reporting ratio (PRR), and Bayesian confidence propagation neural network (BCPNN) were used to detect the risk signals. A suspicious signal was generated only if the results of the three algorithms were all positive. A total of 10,756 reports were identified commonly observed in hepatobiliary, endocrine, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, metabolic, and nutrition system. 40 suspicious signals were generated, and therein 20 signals were not included in the label. Severe high signals (i.e. progressive extraocular muscle paralysis, acute pancreatitis, exfoliative dermatitis, acquired lipodystrophy and mitochondrial toxicity) were identified. In pregnant women, umbilical cord abnormality, fetal growth restriction, low birth weight, stillbirth, premature rupture of membranes, premature birth and spontaneous abortion showed positive signals. Darunavir and its boosted agents induced AEs in various organs/tissues, and were shown to be possibly associated with multiple adverse pregnant conditions. This study highlighted some novel and severe AEs of darunavir which need to be monitored prospectively.

In process of wet compression, gas turbine engine will ingest a certain amount of water, which can influence the overall performance of the engine. This phenomenon is particularly significant in the cleaning process of industrial gas turbine and water injection of aero-engine. When the quantity of water ingestion is quite large, the performance of gas turbine will appear deterioration and may lead to flameout, power reduce or even shutdown of the engine, causing accidents. Water droplets will be accumulated on the blade surface where water films could be formed on pressure surface in the wet compression process. The effects of water film on gas turbine engines are aerodynamic, thermodynamic and mechanical. The above-mentioned effects occur simultaneously and be affected by each other. Considering the above effects and the fact that they are time dependent, there are few gas turbine performance researches, which take into account the water film phenomenon. This study is a new research of investigating theoretically the water film effects on a gas turbine performance. It focuses on the aerodynamic and thermodynamic effects of the phenomenon on the compressor stage. The computation of water film thickness, which frequently be formed on the surface of compressor blade, its movement and extra torque demand, are provided by a simulation model of the code. Considering the change in blade’s profile and the thickness feature of the water film, the compressor stage’s performance deterioration is analyzed. In addition to this, movement and the formation of the water film on a compressor stage are simulated and analyzed by using unsteady numerical methods under different water injecting conditions in this paper. The movement characteristics of water droplets in compressor passage are investigated to understand the flow mechanisms responsible for water film formation process. The forming and the tearing process of water film on blade surface are analyzed at different injection conditions. For simulating the real situation, The maximum quantity of injected water can reach 12%. The results indicate that continuity and region of the water film on the blade surface will be developed with the increment of droplet size and injection rate. It is also found that the flow losses near blade surface increases with the tearing process of water film due to the increment of surface roughness.

The activities of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase were significantly decreased in human endothelial cells infected with the obligate intracellular bacterium Rickettsia rickettsii, the causative agent of Rocky Mountain spotted fever. This observation lends additional support to our hypothesis implicating oxidative damage in endothelial cell injury caused by this microorganism.
