Objective To develop a diagnostic model for predicting occult uterine sarcoma in patients with presumed uterine fibroids.Materials and methods We retrospectively reviewed 41631 patients with presumed uterine fibroids who presented for HIFU treatment in 13 hospitals between November 2008 and October 2023. Of these patients, 27 with occult uterine sarcoma and 54 with uterine fibroids were enrolled. Univariate analysis and multivariate logistics regression analysis were used to determine the independent risk factors for the diagnosis of occult uterine sarcoma. A prediction model was constructed based on the coefficients of the risk factors.Results The multivariate analysis revealed abnormal vaginal bleeding, ill-defined boundary of tumor, hyperintensity on T2WI, and central unenhanced areas as independent risk factors. A scoring system was created to assess for occult uterine sarcoma risk. The score for abnormal vaginal bleeding was 56. The score for ill-defined lesion boundary was 90. The scores for lesions with hypointensity, isointensity signal/heterogeneous signal intensity, and hyperintensity on T2WI were 0, 42, and 93, respectively. The scores for lesions without enhancement on the mass margin, uniform enhancement of tumor, and no enhancement in the center of tumor were 0, 20, and 100, respectively. Patients with a higher total score implied a higher likelihood of a diagnosis of occult uterine sarcoma than that of patients with a lower score. The established model showed good predictive efficacy.Conclusions Our results demonstrated that the diagnostic prediction model can be used to evaluate the risk of uterine sarcoma in patients with presumed uterine fibroids.

AbstractObjective The aim of this retrospective study was to investigate the short-term and long-term efficacy of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy for abdominal wall endometriosis (AWE) and explore its potential influencing factors.Materials and methods A total of 80 patients with AWE who underwent HIFU therapy were retrospectively analyzed. Follow-ups were also conducted to evaluate the changes in lesion size and pain relief. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was applied to investigate factors influencing HIFU therapy for AWE.Results Among the 80 patients with AWE who received HIFU therapy, the effective rates were 76.3%, 80.5%, and 90.5% after 3, 12 and 24 months of follow-up, respectively. Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that the AWE lesion diameter and sonication intensity had statistically significant effects on the 3-month and 12-month efficacy of HIFU therapy for AWE, while age, BMI, disease duration, average sonication power and grey-scale changes did not have statistically significant effects. Four patients with AWE experienced recurrence after HIFU therapy, for a three-year cumulative recurrence rate of 6.3%. Furthermore, ten patients required reintervention after treatment, for a five-year cumulative reintervention rate of 13.9%.Conclusions This study further confirmed the safety and effectiveness of HIFU therapy for AWE. Factors such as AWE lesion diameter and sonication intensity have been identified as key influencers affecting the short-term and long-term efficacy of HIFU therapy for AWE. The first two years following HIFU therapy constitute crucial periods for observation, and judiciously extending follow-up intervals during this timeframe is advised.

In this paper, we study a split-step Galerkin finite element (FE) method for the two-dimensional Riesz space-fractional coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations (CNLSs). The proposed method adopts a second-order split-step technique to handle the nonlinearity and FE approximation to discretize the fractional derivatives in space, which avoids iteration at each time layer. The analysis of mass conservative and convergent properties for this split-step FE scheme is performed. To test its capability, some numerical tests and the simulation of the double solitons intersection and plane wave are carried out. The results and comparisons with the algorithm combined with Newton’s iteration illustrate its effectiveness and advantages in computational efficiency.

Abstract Graphitic carbon nitride (g‐C3N4) has been extensively doped with alkali metals to enlarge photocatalytic output, in which cesium (Cs) doping is predicted to be the most efficient. Nevertheless, the sluggish diffusion and doping kinetics of precursors with high melting points, along with imprecise regulation, have raised the debate on whether Cs doping could make sense. For this matter, we attempt to confirm the positive effects of Cs doping on multifunctional photocatalysis by first using cesium acetate with the character of easy manipulation. The optimized Cs‐doped g‐C3N4 (CCN) shows a 41.6‐fold increase in visible‐light‐driven hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) compared to pure g‐C3N4 and impressive degradation capability, especially with 77% refractory tetracycline and almost 100% rhodamine B degraded within an hour. The penetration of Cs+ is demonstrated to be a mode of interlayer doping, and Cs–N bonds (especially with sp2 pyridine N in C═N–C), along with robust chemical interaction and electron exchange, are fabricated. This atomic configuration triggers the broadened spectral response, the improved charge migration, and the activated photocatalytic capacity. Furthermore, we evaluate the CCN/cadmium sulfide hybrid as a Z‐scheme configuration, promoting the visible HER yield to 9.02 mmol g−1 h−1, which is the highest ever reported among all CCN systems. This work adds to the rapidly expanding field of manipulation strategies and supports further development of mediating served for photocatalysis.

The crowd sensing technology can realize the sensing and computing of people, machines, and environment in smart industrial IoT-based coal mine, which provides a solution for safety monitoring through distributed intelligence optimization. However, due to the difficulty of neural network training to achieve global optimality and the fact that traditional LSTM methods do not consider the relationship between adjacent machines, the accuracy of human body position prediction and pressure value prediction is not high. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a smart industrial IoT empowered crowd sensing for safety monitoring in coal mine. First, we propose a Particle Swarm Optimization-Elman Neural Network (PE) algorithm for the mobile human position prediction. Second, we propose an ADI-LSTM neural network prediction algorithm for pressure values of machines supports in underground mines.Among them, our proposed PE algorithm has the lowest average cumulative prediction error, and the trajectory fit rate is improved by 24.1%, 13.9% and 8.7% compared with Kalman filtering, Elman and Kalman plus Elman algorithms, respectively. Meanwhile, compared with single-input ARIMA, RNN, LSTM, and GRU, the RMSE values of our proposed ADI-LSTM are reduced by 36.6%, 52%, 32%, and 13.7%, respectively; and the MAPE values are reduced by 0.0003%, 0.9482%, 1.1844%, and 0.3620%, respectively.© 2015 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

Abstract Fasting has been grown in popularity with multiple potential benefits. However, very few studies dynamically monitor physiological and pathological changes during long‐term fasting using noninvasive methods. In the present study, we recruited 37 individuals with metabolic syndrome to engage in a 5‐day water‐only fasting regimen, and simultaneously captured the molecular alterations through urinary proteomics and metabolomics. Our findings reveal that water‐only fasting significantly mitigated metabolic syndrome‐related risk markers, such as body weight, body mass index, abdominal circumference, blood pressure, and fasting blood glucose levels in metabolic syndrome patients. Indicators of liver and renal function remained within the normal range, with the exception of uric acid. Notably, inflammatory response was inhibited during the water‐only fasting period, as evidenced by a decrease in the human monocyte differentiation antigen CD14. Intriguingly, glycolysis, tricarboxylic acid cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation underwent a sex‐dependent reprogramming throughout the fasting period, whereby males exhibited a greater upregulation of carbohydrate metabolism‐related enzymes than females. This disparity may be attributed to evolutionary pressures. Collectively, our study sheds light on the beneficial physiological effects and novel dynamic molecular features associated with fasting in individuals with metabolic syndrome using noninvasive methods.

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) combined with hysteroscopy-guided suction curettage (HGSC) in treating cervical pregnancy.Materials and methods This is a retrospective study. Seven patients with cervical pregnancy who visited the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University from January 2015 to December 2020 were enrolled in the current study. All seven patients were treated with HIFU under conscious sedation. All of them underwent HGSC at an average of 2 ± 1 days (range: 1–3 days) after HIFU. Before the therapy, the patient's clinical characteristics were collected, including duration of amenorrhea, gravidity and parity, the patient history of cesarean section and miscarriage, and the size of the gestational sac. The levels of β-hCG and hemoglobin in serum were also reviewed. To assess the clinical outcomes of this combined treatment, the suction time of HGSC, bleeding volume, the clearance time of β-hCG, and the time with returning of menstruation were evaluated.Results All seven patients (average age: 31 ± 6 years) have experienced amenorrhea (duration range, 48 ± 8 days) before the treatment of HIFU. The average number of pregnancies was four, and the number of deliveries was one. Previous medical history showed six patients had cesarean sections, and five patients have been miscarriages. After HIFU treatment, the fetal heartbeats were stopped in all seven patients based on the diagnosis by doppler ultrasound. The bleeding of gestational tissue decreased significantly. All patients had only mild lower abdominal pain, no fever, intestinal damage, or other complications were reported. The average operation time of operative suction curettage was 21 ± 9 min (range: 9–32 min), and the median bleeding volume was 10 ± 8 mL (range: 2–20 mL). Follow-up observations showed that the menstruations were returned in patients at an average of 38 ± 9 days (range: 30–50 days) after the treatment. The β-hCG decreased from 41773 ± 32242 mIU/mL to 13101 ± 8454 mIU/mL in 29 ± 10 days after surgery.Conclusion Based on these results with small subjects, we concluded that HIFU combined with HGSC might be an effective and safe treatment for patients with cervical pregnancy.

Abstract In this study, we highlight some important factors in the specimen preparation methods for evaluating photovoltaic backsheet properties after accelerated aging. Two different sequences are considered: Method (I) cut‐then‐age: cut into 1‐cm wide strips and then expose to stress, and Method (II) age‐then‐cut: expose a larger sheet to stress and then cut into 1‐cm widths for mechanical property measurements. We also compare the effect of three cutting methods, (a) tensile specimen punch, (b) paper cutter, and (c) fresh razor blade. Several commercial backsheets were evaluated, with stress exposures including (a) pressure cooker test (PCT), (b) dry ultraviolet (UV) radiation exposure, and (c) UV combined damp heat tests. Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR) and intrinsic viscosity (IV) were used to analyze the materials on unstressed materials and samples exposed to PCT. The results show that both the cutting method and the time of cutting have an impact on the backsheet mechanical properties. Under UV exposure, Method II, age‐then‐cut, generally resulted in a higher average value, with more variation than Method I; however, if the side strips from Method II were excluded, the variation dropped to the same level. This is because the specimens at the sides of the sheet get additional damage from UV light from the exposed sides of the sample. In contrast to UV exposure, PCT specimens prepared by Method II result in lower average values and higher variability. This is attributed to embrittlement through the bulk of the sample where the cutting of embrittled specimens appears to result in more edge defects which can then initiate a break at smaller strains. The data suggest that for UV exposures, the specimens should be cut after aging and the exposed side specimens discarded, and that for PCT exposures, the specimens should be cut before the exposure.

Privacy protection, high labeling cost, and varying characteristics of seizures among patients and at different times are the main obstacles to building seizure detection models. Considering these issues, we propose a novel Mentor-Student architecture for Patient-Specific seizure detection (MS4PS). It contains a new method of knowledge transferring called mentor-select-for-student, which exploits the knowledge of a mentor model by using this model to select data for training a student model, making it possible to avoid transferring patient data and the negative influence of transferring parameters/structures of pre-trained models. It also contains a new method of active learning, which uses both an experienced mentor model and a quick-learning student model to select high-quality samples for doctors to label. Each of the two models is coupled with a particular sample selection strategy that combines uncertainty/certainty and the distance between the unlabeled samples and labeled seizure samples. The proposed method can quickly train a suitable detector for a patient at his/her first epilepsy diagnosis with the help of: (1) an experienced mentor model that chooses the most category-certain electroencephalography (EEG) data segments; (2) a student model (detector itself) that chooses the most category-uncertain EEG data segments; (3) doctors who label these data segments selected by both the mentor model and student model. By replacing or improving the mentor model and refining the historical models of patients when they come next time, the MS4PS system can be sustainably promoted. The proposed method is tested on the CHB-MIT and NEO datasets, and the results demonstrate its effectiveness and efficiency.

Abstract Cardiomyopathy comprises a heterogeneous group of myocardial abnormalities, structural or functional in nature, in the absence of coronary artery disease and other abnormal loading conditions. These myocardial pathologies can result in premature death or disability from progressive heart failure, arrhythmia, stroke, or other embolic events. The European Cardiomyopathy Registry reports a high stroke risk in cardiomyopathy patients ranging from 2.1% to 4.5%, as well as high prevalence of atrial fibrillation ranging from 14.0% to 48.5%. There is a growing interest in evaluating the risk of thromboembolism depending on the type of cardiomyopathy, as well as if anticoagulation is indicated in patients with cardiomyopathy without atrial fibrillation. Data available do not unequivocally support anticoagulation therapy in all of these patients; the management of these patients remains challenging. Many published reports pertaining to the risk of thromboembolism and consecutive treatment strategies mainly focus on single cardiomyopathy subtype. We summarize essential pathophysiological knowledge and review current literature associated with thromboembolism in various cardiomyopathy subtypes, providing recommendations for the diagnostic evaluation as well as clinical management strategies in this field. Certain cardiomyopathy subtypes require anticoagulation independent of atrial fibrillation or CHA2DS2‐VASc score. Despite the scarcity of evidence regarding the choice of anticoagulation regimen (vitamin K antagonist vs. non‐vitamin K oral anticoagulants) in cardiomyopathy, it is discussed and reviewed in this article. Each patient should receive a tailored strategy based on thorough clinical evaluation, published evidence, and clinical experience, due to the current recommendations mostly developed on small‐sample studies or empirical evidence. The future research priorities in this area are also addressed in this article.

Objective To investigate the MRI features and clinical outcomes of unexpected uterine sarcomas in patients after high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) ablation for presumed uterine fibroids. Materials and methods 15,759 consecutive patients who came for HIFU treatment, from November 2008 to September 2019, for presumed uterine fibroids were retrospectively reviewed. All the patients had completed a pre-HIFU MRI. All MRI images were independently analyzed and interpreted by two radiologists in every center. Results According to the T2WI MRI features of hyperintensity, accompanied by irregular margins, necrosis or cystic degeneration, multi-lobulated lesion with internal septation, 46 patients were suspected to be uterine sarcomas before HIFU. Eleven patients were histologically diagnosed as uterine sarcomas after laparotomy. Among the 15713 patients who received HIFU treatment for presumed uterine fibroids, 8 patients were found to have occult recurrence during the follow-up period, and 6 were confirmed histologically as uterine sarcomas after laparotomy. The incidence rate of uterine sarcomas was 0.108% (17/15759). Among them, 12 cases were low-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma (LG-ESS) and 5 cases were uterine leiomyosarcoma (LMS). No histological dissemination of the sarcoma was detected in patients with unexpected uterine sarcomas. Conclusion Although some MRI features of uterine sarcomas and uterine fibroids overlapped, MRI is valuable in distinguishing between uterine fibroids and uterine sarcomas. HIFU does not seem to cause histological dissemination of the sarcoma, but follow-up visits should be strictly adhered to in order to detect unexpected uterine sarcomas at an early stage and to treat them in a timely manner.

Coronary artery aneurysms (CAAs) are infrequent but not rare. Because of the lack of supportive data and a substantial knowledge gap in this field, clinicians are in a dilemma how to manage patients with coronary artery aneurysms. Most often, CAAs are discovered incidentally, while symptomatic patients present with diverse complications of unstable angina, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, or sudden cardiac death. Therapeutical approaches consist of surgical procedure, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and medical management. Because of the scarcity of randomized trials or large-scale data on symptomatic and asymptomatic patients with coronary artery aneurysms, the management of these patients poses considerable challenges for the cardiologists. This review summarizes the current literature, a proposed algorithm for the management of CAAs is highlighted in the text. In view of the majority of current proposal information based on small series of case reports or observational studies, an individualized therapeutic regimen should be on the basis of the location, expansion by time, morphology, complications, and etiologies of the coronary artery aneurysms, the clinical presentations, and the patient's characteristics.

Fuzzing is a widely used technique to discover vulnerabilities in software. However, for programs requiring highly structured inputs, the byte-based mutation strategies in existing fuzzers have difficulties in generating valid inputs. To resolve this challenge, Grammar-Based Fuzzing (GBF) utilizes existing grammar specifications to generate new inputs. Some GBFs perform mutation based on Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs), which can generate inputs conforming to grammars. However, the existing GBFs neglect using feedback to optimize mutation strategies, and blindly generate inputs without considering the effectiveness of those inputs. In this paper, we use the power schedule and the subtree pool to optimize mutation strategies. Specifically, we first translate input files into ASTs, and extract subtrees from ASTs into a subtree pool. Then, we optimize the power schedule on AST nodes based on a probabilistic model. That is, we adaptively determine the time budget for mutating an AST node. Finally, we replace AST nodes along with their subtrees using the ones we select from the subtree pool. We implement a fuzzing tool to demonstrate our strategies. The experiment results show that our method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods in fuzzing efficiency.

Objective To investigate the long-term clinical outcomes of patients with adenomyosis treated by high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). Materials and methods From June 2012 to January 2020, 2311 patients with adenomyosis were treated with HIFU at our center, 1982 patients who have complete clinical data were retrospectively reviewed. Among the patients who completed the follow-up, 485 were treated with HIFU alone, 289 were treated with HIFU followed by GnRH-a, 255 were treated with HIFU combined with Mirena and 594 were treated with HIFU combined with GnRH-a and Mirena. The dysmenorrhea severity pain score and average menorrhagia severity score before and at 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years and 5 years after HIFU were compared. The adverse effects were recorded. In addition, the efficacy between patients treated with GnRH-a and/or Mirena were compared. Results After HIFU ablation, the dysmenorrhea severity pain score and the menorrhagia severity score were significantly decreased at each follow-up time point. However, it was observed that as the follow-up time increased, the effective rate of HIFU treatment in improving dysmenorrhea and menorrhagia decreased. Purpose The aim of this study was to retrospectively compare and analyze pregnancy outcomes of patients with uterine fibroids after high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) ablation and laparoscopic myomectomy (LM). Materials and methods The study group consisted of 346 patients with uterine fibroids who wished to conceive, in which 152 patients received HIFU ablation treatment (HIFU group) and 194 patients received LM treatment (LM group). The parents’ baseline characters were recorded and the pregnancy outcomes were evaluated in a median follow-up time of 42 months (range: 16 ∼ 81) after the treatment, and the differences of the two groups were compared. Results Patients with uterine fibroids in HIFU group had a significant shorter pregnancy interval than that in LM group (10 months VS. 13 months, p .05). When stratified by age, infertility history, fibroid types, fibroid numbers, and fibroid sizes, there was no statistically significant difference in pregnancy rate between the HIFU group and the LM group (p > .05). Conclusions Based on the results from this study, both HIFU and LM can be safely used to treat patients who wish to conceive. The pregnancy outcomes of post-HIFU are similar to that of post-LM.

Abstract Background Alpha protein kinase 2 (ALPK2) was known to play a vital role in cancer by regulating cell cycle and DNA repair. Ovarian cancer (OC) is one of the most lethal malignancies in the female reproductive system. The emphasis of this study is to explore the role of ALPK2 in OC. Methods Firstly, tumor and normal tissues were collected for detecting expression of ALPK2 in OC. Lentivirus-mediated shRNA knockdown of ALPK2 was used to construct OC cell model, which was verified by qRT-PCR and Western blot. The cell proliferation was detected by MTT, cell cycle and apoptosis were measured through flow cytometry. Wound-healing assay was conducted to detect the migration of OC cells. Results It was proved that the expression of ALPK2 in OC tissues was significantly higher than that in normal ovarian tissues. Moreover, knockdown of ALPK2 could inhibit proliferation, migration and promote apoptosis, arrested cell cycle of OC cells. It was also found that ALPK2 knockdown inhibited tumor growth in xenograft mice in vivo. Furthermore, ALPK2 was involved in OC cells via regulating EMT-related proteins (N-cadherin, Vimentin and Snail), inhibiting apoptosis-related proteins (Bcl-2, Bcl-w, HSP27, HSP60, IGF-I, IGF-1sR, Survivin and XIAP), as well as the regulation of downstream pathways (Akt, p-Akt, Cyclin D1, CDK6 and PIK3CA). Conclusions In conclusion, ALPK2 might serve as an optional target for prognosis and therapeutic of OC patients.

Interaction is the main feature of social media, while in recent years, frequent privacy disclosure events of the social media user affect users’ privacy disclosure behavior. In this paper, we explore the mechanism of interaction characteristics by social media apps on users’ privacy disclosure behavior. Using SOR theoretical models and the privacy calculus theory, the effects of privacy disclosures on TikTok are examined. Structural equation modeling is used to analyze the data from 326 questionnaires. We concluded that human–computer interaction (perceived personalization, perceived control) and interpersonal interaction (perceived similarity) positively and negatively affected perceived benefits and perceived risks, respectively, and had positive effects on intention to disclose privacy through perceived benefits and perceived risks, respectively, except that perceived personalization had no effect on perceived risk and intention to disclose privacy. In addition, perceived benefits and perceived risks played an intermediary role in interactivity and privacy disclosure intention. Finally, we provided countermeasures and suggestions for social media operators and policy makers.

Abstract In quantum physics, fractional Schrödinger equation is of particular interest in the research of particles on stochastic fields modeled by the Lévy processes, which was derived by extending the Feynman path integral over the Brownian paths to a path integral over the trajectories of Lévy fights. In this work, a fully discrete finite element method (FEM) is developed for the Riesz space-fractional coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations (CNLS), conjectured with a linearized Crank–Nicolson discretization. The error estimate and mass conservative property are discussed. It is showed that the proposed method is decoupled and convergent with optimal orders in L2 $L^{2}$-sense. Numerical examples are performed to support our theoretical results.

Abstract In this article, we propose an exponential B-spline approach to obtain approximate solutions for the fractional sub-diffusion equation of Caputo type. The presented method is established via a uniform nodal collocation strategy by using an exponential B-spline based interpolation in conjunction with an effective finite difference scheme in time. The unique solvability is rigorously proved. The unconditional stability is well illustrated via a procedure closely resembling the classic von Neumann technique. A series of numerical examples are carried out, and by contrast to other algorithms available in the open literature, numerical results confirm the validity and superiority of our method.

In this article, we develop a fully discrete finite element method for the nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLS) with time- and space-fractional derivatives. The time-fractional derivative is described in Caputo's sense and the space-fractional derivative in Riesz's sense. Its stability is well derived; the convergent estimate is discussed by an orthogonal operator. We also extend the method to the two-dimensional time-space-fractional NLS and to avoid the iterative solvers at each time step, a linearized scheme is further conducted. Several numerical examples are implemented finally, which confirm the theoretical results as well as illustrate the accuracy of our methods.

The coronary slow flow phenomenon (CSFP) is a poorly recognized clinical entity characterized by delayed distal vessel opacification in the absence of epicardial coronary stenosis and presently lack of specific data on the clinical profile and outcome. We investigated a cohort of 429 patients who fulfilled the criteria for CSFP to explore the clinical feature, outcome, and risk factor of prognosis. Two teams (clinical center and core lab) were blind to patient data for the assessment of coronary angiograph using corrected thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI) frame count (CTFC). The study cohort consisted of 429 patients (294 men, 68.5%), aged from 30 to 78 years (mean, 54 years). Two hundred patients (46.6%) out of 429 patients had a history of hypertension, 72 (16.8%) had diabetes mellitus, and 222 (51.7%) had dyslipidemia. All the rates of agreement between two teams in evaluating whether normal flow (CTFC ≤ 27 frames) or slow flow (CTFC > 27 frames) were moderate (0.40 50 years (hazard ratio (HR) = 2.2, 95% CI: 1.0 to 4.9, and P=0.042), hypertension (HR = 2.1, 95% CI: 1.1 to 4.2, and P=0.021), and dyslipidemia (HR = 2.0, 95% CI: 1.0 to 3.9, and P=0.042). CSFP affects predominantly patients at middle age and above but can occur in any age group; CSFP should be more concerned, particularly in patients >50 years old with hypertension and dyslipidemia.

QiShenYiQi dripping pills (QSYQ), a traditional Chinese medicine, are commonly used to treat coronary heart disease, and QSYQ was recently approved as a complementary treatment for ischemic heart failure in China. However, only few studies reported on whether QSYQ exerts a protective effect on heart failure induced by pressure overload. In this study, we explored the role of QSYQ in a mouse model of heart failure induced by transverse aortic constriction (TAC). Twenty-eight C57BL/6J mice were divided into four groups: Sham + NS group, Sham + QSYQ group, TAC + NS group, and TAC + QSYQ group. QSYQ dissolved in normal saline (NS) was administered intragastrically (3.5 mg/100 g/day) in the Sham + QSYQ and TAC + QSYQ groups. In the Sham + NS and TAC + NS groups, NS was provided every day intragastrically. Eight weeks after TAC, echocardiography, and cardiac catheterization were performed to evaluate the cardiac function, and immunofluorescent staining with anti-actinin2 antibody was performed to determine the structure of the myocardial fibers. Moreover, TUNEL staining and Masson trichrome staining were employed to assess the effects of QSYQ on cardiac apoptosis and cardiac fibrosis. Western blots and real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) were used to measure the expression levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in the heart, and immunohistochemical staining with anti-CD31 antibody was performed to explore the role of QSYQ in cardiac angiogenesis. Results showed that TAC-induced cardiac dysfunction and disrupted structure of myocardial fibers significantly improved after QSYQ treatment. Moreover, QSYQ treatment also significantly improved cardiac apoptosis and cardiac fibrosis in TAC-induced heart failure, which was accompanied by an increase in VEGF expression levels and maintenance of microvessel density in the heart. In conclusion, QSYQ exerts a protective effect on TAC-induced heart failure, which could be attributed to enhanced cardiac angiogenesis, which is closely related to QSYQ. Thus, QSYQ may be a promising traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of heart failure induced by pressure overload such as hypertension.

During the selective laser melting (SLM) process, the scanned layers are subjected to rapid thermal cycles. By working on the mechanical properties, residual stress, and microstructure, the high-temperature gradients can have significant effect on the proper functioning and the structural integrity of built parts. This work presents a comprehensive study on the scanning path type and preheating temperature for AlSi10Mg alloy during SLM. According to the results, SLM AlSi10Mg parts fabricated in chessboard scanning strategy have higher mechanical properties or at least comparable to the parts fabricated in uniformity scanning strategy. In the SLM processing, the residual stress in different parts of the specimen varies with temperature gradient, and the residual stress at the edge of the specimen is obviously larger than that at the center. Under the chessboard scanning and preheating temperature 160°C, the residual stress in each direction of the specimens reaches the minimum. Under different forming processes, the morphology of the microstructure is obviously different. With the increase of preheating temperature, the molten pool in the side surface is obviously elongated and highly unevenly distributed. From the coupling relationship between the residual stress and microstructure, it can be found that the microstructure of top surface is affected by residual stresses σx and σy. But the side surface is mainly governed by residual stress σy; moreover, the greater the residual stress, the more obvious the grain tilt. In the XY and XZ surfaces, the scanning strategy has little influence on the tilt angle of the grain. But, the tilt angle and morphology of the microstructure are obviously affected by the preheating temperature. The results show that the residual stresses can effectively change the properties of the materials under the combined influence of scanning strategy and preheating temperature.
