Recombinant rice quiescin sulfhydryl oxidase (rQSOX) has the potential to improve the flour processing quality, but the mechanisms remain unclear. The effects of rQSOX on bread quality, dough rheology, and gluten structure and composition, with glucose oxidase as a positive control, were investigated. rQSOX addition could improve the dough processing quality, as proved by enhanced viscoelastic properties of dough as well as a softer crumb, higher specific volume, and lower moisture loss of bread. These beneficial effects were attributed to gluten protein polymerization and gluten network strengthening, evidenced by the improved concentration of SDS-insoluble gluten and formation of large gluten aggregates and the increased α-helix and β-turn conformation. International audience; Spatial resolution of computerized tomographic scanner has reached a level to which accurate anatomic measurements could be done in. Three-dimensional accurate measurements require a reliable referential system. In craniology landmarks are usually selected in the skull base. For craniofacial malformation the classical landmarks are of no help so the authors have used the vestibular orientation to study a series of 50 Crouzon syndrome computerized tomographic scan and compare the results (shape, position, linear mensuration, volumes…) with 122 controls in unaffected patients. The authors have confirmed Crouzon description of a high level of polymorphism in phenotypes, the authors propose an organigram to understand the abnormal growth patterns in crouzon syndrome, which lead to such consequences. This polymorphism implies that the planning of surgical treatment should be tailored for each case.

The treatment for severe hemifacial microsomia (HFM), especially type III case, is extremely difficult. Mandibular distraction osteogenesis (MDO) was rarely used as the primary choice in the treatment of severe type cases. The authors sought to observe the short-term therapeutic outcomes of patients with severe unilateral HFM who underwent MDO first.A retrospective study of children underwent MDO or later received costochondral graft (CCG) for severe unilateral HFM from 2009 to 2019 was conducted. Cephalometric measurements and clinical variables were analyzed to evaluate the effectiveness of MDO first strategy for severe cases and compare disparity between Pruzansky-Kaban classification type IIb and type III groups.Thirty-six patients (23 males and 13 females) underwent MDO first for severe HFM were included for analysis in the present study. The average age at MDO was 8.33 ± 2.03 years. At the last follow-up, MDO acquired significant improvement in mandibular height, maxillary cant, chin deviation, lip commissural line tilt, and clinical chin deviation (P 0.05). Distraction results were stable during the short-term follow-up in terms of the mandibular height ratio and maxillary cant (P 0.05).MDO is a proper primary method for suitable type IIb and type III HFM cases. MDO can immediately and significantly improve the facial skeleton deficiency, extend the associated soft tissue at the same time, and lay foundation for secondary surgery. MDO can achieve the downgrade of HFM deficiency severity. MDO followed by costochondral graft can get satisfactory esthetic and structural consequence for type III patients.

A novel synthesis of fused perfluoroalkylated 2,3-dihydroisoxazoles is achieved via oxa-Michael-aldol annulation between perfluoroalk-2-ynoates and N-hydroxyimides. This method provides a convenient route for the synthesis of pyrrolidin-2-one-fused perfluoroalkylated 2,3-dihydroisoxazoles in yields of up to 97%. Diverse and pharmaceutically attractive polycyclic scaffolds can be obtained rapidly and efficiently under these mild, catalyst-free conditions.

Neoadjuvant therapy followed by surgical resection is one of the preferred treatment option for locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). For patients with mesenchymal-epithelial transition (MET) factor exon 14 skipping (METex14) mutations, the use of MET-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) showed high efficiency and reduced toxicity compared with first-line standard chemotherapy. However, it is unknown whether preoperative induction targeted therapy of MET-TKIs is feasible and safe.Here, we reported 3 cases of locally advanced unresectable NSCLC with METex14 mutations receiving induction therapy of MET-TKI savolitinib as first-line therapy or second-line therapy when they experienced disease progression after preoperative chemotherapy.All these 3 patients achieved significant tumor size shrinkage and their unresectable tumors became resectable after the treatment of savolitinib. No serious adverse events were observed during the treatment. They recovered well postoperatively, and no significant events were identified.Preoperative induction treatment with MET-TKI savolitinib showed its safety and effectiveness and may be an alternative option for neoadjuvant therapy for NSCLC patients with METex14 mutations.

Resuscitation transfer of embryos after cryopreservation is gaining popularity worldwide due to higher implantation rates. This method separates oocyte retrieval from embryo transfer. The optimal time for frozen embryo transfer (FET) remains unknown. This retrospective cohort study aimed to determine the difference in pregnancy outcomes between patients who underwent immediate FET and delayed FET. We analyzed real-world data of patients who underwent resuscitation transplantation between October 2019 and July 2021 at the Reproductive Center of Chengdu Jinjiang Hospital for Women’s and Children’s Health. Propensity score matching was applied to control for potential confounding factors. A total 5549 patients who received at least one FET were analyzed. Patients transplanted within 60 days of oocyte retrieval were included in the immediate FET group (n = 1265) and those transplanted > 60 days after retrieval were included in the delayed FET group (n = 4284). After propensity score matching, live birth rates between the two groups were comparable (45.25% vs. 45.76%, p = 0.757). Moreover, no difference was observed in the rates of biochemical pregnancy (64.50% vs. 66.80%), clinical pregnancy (55.24% vs. 56.83%), ectopic pregnancy (1.47% vs. 1.39%), early miscarriage (14.41% vs. 16.20%), late miscarriage (2.21% vs. 2.09%), singleton premature delivery (16.67% vs. 18.29%), and neonatal deformity (1.97% vs. 1.80%). After stratifying the patients based on the type of embryo transferred, number of embryos transferred, FET protocol, and good prognosis criteria, live birth rates were still comparable between the two groups after propensity score matching (p > 0.05). In conclusion, pregnancy outcomes were comparable between the immediate and delayed FET groups.

The classical Pummerer rearrangement of 2,2,2-trifluoroethylaryl sulfoxide with trifluoracetic anhydride (TFAA) affords the S,O-acetal efficiently. In the presence of trifluoracetic acid (TFA) as the co-solvent, the S,O-acetal can regenerate reactive thionium intermediate of Pummerer rearrangement. When employing arenes as nucleophiles, this strategy produces corresponding 1-thiyl-2,2,2-trifluoroethyl arenes with excellent yields under metal-free conditions.

Osteosarcoma is the most common primary malignant bone tumor that mostly affects young people's health. The prognosis of patients with unresectable or recurrent osteosarcoma still remains dismal. Based on gene integration analysis from GEO and TARGET databases by R language, the differentially expressed genes of osteosarcoma patients were identified. Biological molecular function analysis indicated that these genes were importantly enriched in the process of cell adhesion molecule binding. Gene significance highly-related to clinical traits of osteosarcoma was found by weighted gene co-expression network analysis. Additionally, receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was conducted to find prognostic markers in LASSO Cox regression model. Two candidate biomarkers, ANXA1 and PSAT1, for the prognosis of osteosarcoma were detected separately on the basis of WGCNA and LASSO model. Of note, their expression profiles were interrelated with an important therapeutic target HSPA5. In vitro pharmaceutical experiments were performed to explore the biological role and prognostic benefit of candidates. Suppression of HSPA5 effectively upregulated ANXA1 and inhibited PSAT1, resulting in osteosarcoma cell proliferation arrest and apoptosis. These findings suggest that HSPA5 serves as a core molecule for osteosarcoma therapy due to its bidirectional regulation of candidate prognostic biomarkers ANXA1 and PSAT1.

This study aimed to test the potential mediating effect of psychological capital on the relationship between childhood trauma and alexithymia in Chinese medical students, thereby providing clues for future interventions aimed at dealing with alexithymia in this population.Methods: Convenience cluster sampling was used to recruit 1200 medical students in Chongqing, China. This cross-sectional study utilised the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire Short Form, the Toronto Alexithymia Scale, and the Psychological Capital Questionnaire. A structural equation model with maximum likelihood was used to study the mediating effect presented in the aim, and the significance of the mediating effect was examined by the bootstrap method. Multiple-group invariance analyses were also conducted to confirm the stability of the model.Results: A total of 1018 were identified to have valid responses with a rate of 84.83%. 38.4% were males, 61.6% were females. The prevalence of alexithymia was 16.5%. Results of structural equation model showed that childhood trauma was positively related to alexithymia, with a standard path coefficient of 0.219 (C.R.=6.644, P< 0.001). The partial mediating effect of psychological capital was 0.060 (P< 0.001), accounting for 21.51% of the total effect of childhood trauma on alexithymia. Results of bootstrap method showed that the lower and upper bounds of the 95% confidence interval did not contain 0, and the multiple-group invariance analyses showed that the p values of the changes in the degrees of freedom and chi-square value were greater than 0.05, thus confirming the stability of the model.Conclusion: Childhood trauma was a direct predictor of alexithymia among Chinese medical students, and the relationship between these two was partially mediated by psychological capital. Objective To fix a gray zone left in Tessier's classification of rare clefts with cleft 6 and to give a more comprehensive description of cleft 6 anatomy. Design The material used for the research was a series of 26 clinical cases of patients with assessed cleft 6 and 44 cases found out of a literature review with enough data to be useful. The 70 cases were cross-examined by the authors. Study Setting The authors are senior craniofacial surgeons working in high-case load department from university centers where the patients are documented and receive primary as well as secondary treatment and follow-up. Patients The patients were selected out of the series of craniofacial deformities taken care of by the authors’ department as rare clefts. Main Outcome We describe the full spectrum of cleft 6 as an autonomous entity that could present itself in three subtypes: 6a is the most proximal and could be associated with cleft 8. The subtype 6b is medial toward the zygomatic arch and frequently associated with a bone and teeth appendage (frequently described as a “maxillary duplication”). The subtype 6C goes toward the external ear between the helix crus and the auditory meatus. Conclusions The Tessier's opinion is that Treacher Collins syndrome was the association of clefts 6, 7, and 8 and is no longer sustainable in the light of modern genetics. Most of the cleft 6 are misdiagnosed in the literature.

Observational and morphological study with three-dimensional (3D) computed tomography (CT) analysis.To discover the morphology and configuration deformities of craniovertebral junction (CVJ) and upper cervical spine in children with unilateral hemifacial microsomia (HFM). To determine whether there are specific HFM patients who are at higher risk of certain cervical vertebral anomaly.The evaluation for cervical vertebrae anomaly in HFM children, especially in CVJ region, is underreported.Eighty-eight unilateral HFM children (64 males, 24 females) with four Pruzansky-Kaban types (I, Ila, Ilb, and III) underwent cranial and cervical CT scanning from skull to C5 in neutral position. The 3D morphology and configuration of the occipital condyle, atlas, and axis, etc. were evaluated on the presence of deformed detailed structures of CVJ region.No C1 deformation was found in type I group. Six (14.3%) type Ila cases, seven (33.3%) type IIb cases, and six (37.5%) type Ill cases had lateral masses asymmetry of C1 (P 0.05). Five (55.6%) type I cases, 17 (40.5%) type Ila cases, 12 (57.1%) type Ilb cases, and 10 (62.5%) type Ill cases had C2 anomaly (P 0.05). The incidence rate of C1-C2 instability for four groups were 33.3% (type I), 33.3% (type IIa), 33.3% (type IIb), and 31.3% (type Ill), respectively (P 0.05).For HFM children, the incidence of C1 deformation increased from type I to type Ill. The probability of C2 anomaly and C1-C2 instability in children with different types of HFM is nearly the same. The craniovertebral junction of every HFM child must be monitored carefully for C1-C2 instability before any surgical procedure to avoid atlantoaxial dislocation and spinal cord injury.Level of Evidence: N/A.

In the present paper, we will introduce λ -Gamma operators based on q -integers. First, the auxiliary results about the moments are presented, and the central moments of these operators are also estimated. Then, we discuss some local approximation properties of these operators by means of modulus of continuity and Peetre K -functional. And the rate of convergence and weighted approximation for these operators are researched. Furthermore, we investigate the Voronovskaja type theorems including the quantitative q -Voronovskaja type theorem and q -Grüss-Voronovskaja theorem.

In this paper, the approximation property of the linear combinations of Baskakov operators is investigated by using a Jacobi weight function. Moreover, both the positive and inverse theorems for the weighted simultaneous approximation of the linear combinations of Baskakov operators are proved.

In this paper, we present a diode-pump continuous wave laser amplifier chain where master the oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) architecture is used. The laser amplifier chain consists of two Yb:YAG surface-doped slab laser modules and the 1030nm fiber laser is used as seed. We theoretically calculate the conditions for obtaining high output laser power and systematically analyze the advantages of surface-doped slab. The maximum output power is 6.1 kW and the optical to optical conversion efficiency is 27% when the pump power is 22 kW at room temperature. The beam quality (β) is 2.8 times diffraction limit. These results demonstrate that the surface-doped slab structure has the potential to obtain high output laser power.

This observational retrospective cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the morphological characteristics of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) in type IIa hemifacial microsomia (HFM).We recruited 88 patients with unilateral type IIa HFM. Data relating to the length, distance, and angle of the TMJ, were measured on 3-dimensional models created by the analysis of computed tomography data. Normality analysis was performed by using the Shapiro-Wilk test. Data were compared with the paired t test and Wilcoxon signed-rank test.The height, long axis, and short axis of the affected condyle were significantly shorter than the unaffected side (P0.001); the ratios were 0.41±0.15, 0.75±0.20, and 0.95±0.24, respectively. The spaces between the condyle and the glenoid fossa were significantly larger in affected TMJs (P0.001). The ratio between the ipsilateral and contralateral anterior space in the sagittal plane was 4.62±2.59; this was significantly different than the ratio of inner space (1.50±1.70), superior space (1.70±0.97), and lateral space (1.28±0.62) in the coronal plane (P0.001) and the ratio of superior space (1.43±1.05) and posterior space (1.47±0.98) in the sagittal plane (P0.001); there were no statistical differences between the 5 spaces (P0.05). The breadth and depth of the glenoid fossa were significantly shorter in affected TMJs (P0.001), the ratio of the breadth in the affected and unaffected glenoid fossa was between 0.5 and 1 and the depth of the affected glenoid fossa was almost half of that on the unaffected side. The ratio between the ipsilateral and contralateral height of the condyle was significantly different when compared with the length of the mandibular ramus (P0.001). The ratio between the ipsilateral height of the condyle and the length of the mandibular ramus was significantly different when compared with that of the contralateral side (P0.001). The height of the affected condyle were significantly different (P=0.005) among different ages.We found that hypoplasia was more severe in terms of the height of the condyle than the long axis and short axis of the condyle. The degree of condyle deformity was more severe than the mandible. And the affected condyle still had growth potential in the vertical direction with age.

Background Owing to the crucial role the endometrium plays in embryo implantation, the four main endometrial preparation protocols have become important factors in the study of pregnancy outcomes in the FET cycles. Previous studies have shown that the best of these four protocols remains controversial for women undergoing FET. Methods A total of 10333 FET cycles from January 2018 to December 2018 were analyzed in this study. They were categorized into four groups according to endometrial preparation regimen: natural cycles (Group NC,n = 815), hormone replacement therapy cycles (Group HRT ,n = 6434), GnRH agonist artificial cycles (Group GAC,n = 1392) and ovarian stimulation cycles (Group OC, n = 1692). All patients were followed up for at least 1 year. Pregnancy outcomes were compared between the four groups and multiple logistic regression models were used to adjust for the effects of confounding factors. Results The ectopic pregnancy rate (P = 0.627) and miscarriage rate (P = 0.164) were not statistically significant between the four groups. Moreover, biochemical pregnancy rate, clinical pregnancy rate and live birth rate in the NC group were not statistically significant compared to the other three groups. After adjusting for covariates, multiple logistic regression analysis showed no statistical significance in pregnancy outcomes in the HRT, GAC and OC groups compared to the NC group.And the adjusted OR for live births was 0.988 (95 % CI0.847-1.152) for the HRT group, 0.955 (95 % CI0.795-1.146) for the GAC group,0.898 (95 % CI0.754-1.070) for the OC group. Conclusions Our study showed that natural cycles have similar pregnancy outcomes in terms of clinical pregnancy and live birth to the other three endometrial preparation options. As it has other advantages, the natural cycle protocol can therefore be the recommended option for endometrial preparation in the FET population.

Background Coffee has become one of the most common beverages worldwide. Some components in coffee have been reported to be beneficial to the regulation of hormones related to polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS), and therefore may limit the development of PCOS. However, epidemiological evidence on the relationship between coffee consumption and PCOS is limited. In this study, we aimed at investigating the association between coffee consumption and PCOS risk. Methods The study was a hospital-based case-control study conducted at Chongqing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China, from July 2018 to January 2020. Data was collected from 206 women with PCOS and 206 healthy women. A self-designed structured questionnaire was employed to collect relevant information from study participants. Sleep quality was evaluated by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Logistic regression analysis was used to calculate odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI), adjusted for other confounding factors. Results A statistically significant inverse correlation was observed between coffee consumption and PCOS. After adjusting all potential confounding factors, the results of logistic regression analysis showed that compared to non-drinker, the ORs(95%CI) for ≤ 1 cup/week, 2–3 cups/week and > 3 cups/week were 0.322(0.180–0.574), 0.263(0.104–0.664) and 0.152(0.046–0.563), respectively, and the linear trend was also statistically significant(P for trend

Learning burnout is a pressing issue among Chinese medical undergraduates and Postgraduates and has drawn continuous attention worldwide. Studies have found that problematic smartphone use could affect learning burnout, but more research is needed in this direction. Furthermore, few studies focused on the mediating effect of psychological capital on the relationship between problematic smartphone use and learning burnout. The present study was a cross-sectional survey that recruited 1,800 participants from a medical university in Chongqing, China. A questionnaire based on the Mobile Phone Addiction Tendency Scale, Psychological Capital Questionnaire, Learning Burnout Scale, and demographic variables were administered to these students, and 1,475 provided valid responses (81.94%). 771 were undergraduates (52.3%) and 704 were postgraduates (47.7%). Hierarchical regression and the bootstrap method were used to examine the mediating effect of psychological capital. After controlling for demographic variables, problematic smartphone use positively predicted learning burnout in undergraduates (β = 0.328, p < 0.01) and in postgraduates (β = 0.342, p < 0.01). The partial mediating effect of psychological capital was 0.068 in undergraduates and 0.074 in postgraduates, accounting for 20.67 and 21.64%, respectively, of the total effect of problematic smartphone use on learning burnout. All the 95% confidence intervals (CI) did not contain 0. Problematic smartphone use can directly predict learning burnout and their relationship was mediated by psychological capital in Chinese medical undergraduates and postgraduates. Strategies to alleviating problematic smartphone use and enhance psychological capital in medical undergraduates and postgraduates may provide useful suggestions for future interventions on dealing with learning burnout in Chinese medical undergraduates and postgraduates.
