A new virus of the genus Polerovirus in the family Solemoviridae was identified in Bidens Pilosa displaying mosaic and mottle symptoms. Its nearly complete genome of 5,705 nucleotides (nt) contains seven open reading frames (ORFs). The virus shares nucleotide sequence identities 53.2–67.1% with other poleroviruses at whole genome level. The amino acid (aa) sequence identities of each of the five ORFs are less than 84% between the new virus and other known poleroviruses. Phylogenetic analyses showed that the virus was most closely related to beet western yellows virus and cucurbit aphid-borne yellows virus in the genus Polerovirus. Our results suggest that this virus, named “bidens polerovirus 1 (BiPV-1)”, should be a distinct member of the genus Polerovirus. Recombination analysis of the genome sequence of the virus showed that BiPV-1 is a recombinant of the species of two different genera of the family Solemoviridae.

Previous studies have shown that changes in the gut microbiota may affect the development of host metabolic diseases and promote the progression of T2DM. Tang-ping-san (TPS) decoction can effectively treat T2DM. However, its specific mechanisms must be evaluated.Patients and Methods: In the present study, we established an animal model of T2DM using a high‑fat diet (HFD) with intraperitoneal injection streptozotocin injection.Results: The therapeutic effect of TPS decoction on T2DM in mice was initially evaluated. TPS decoction was found to improve hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, insulin resistance, and pathological liver, pancreatic, and colon changes. Moreover, it reduced the pro-inflammatory cytokine levels. Based on 16SrRNA sequencing, TPS decoction reduced the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio at the phylum level. At the genus level, it increased the relative abundances of Akkermansia, Muribaculaceae, and the Eubacterium coprostanoligenes group and decreased the relative abundance of Fusobacterium, Escherichia coli, Dubosiella, and Helicobacter.Conclusion: TPS decoction improves T2DM and liver function and reduces the risk of hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, insulin resistance, pathological organ changes, and inflammatory reactions. The mechanism of TPS decoction in T2DM can be correlated with the reversal of gut microbiota dysfunction and repair of the intestinal mucosal barrier.Keywords: type 2 diabetes mellitus, tang-ping-san decoction, gut microbiota, glycolipid metabolism, insulin resistance

A novel virus named Aconitum amalgavirus 1 (AcoAV-1) was identified from Chinese aconite (Aconitum carmichaelii) plants with viral disease symptoms. The genome of this monopartite dsRNA virus is 3,370 nucleotides long, which containing two partially overlapping open reading frames encoding a putative coat protein and RNA dependent RNA polymerase, respectively. AcoAV-1 shares 34.9-50.7% amino acid sequence identities to other amalgaviruses. Phylogenetic analyses group AcoAV-1 with blueberry latent virus and other related viruses in a clade, suggesting that it belongs to the genus Amalgavirus in the family Amalgaviridae.

A novel enamovirus was identified from bean plants with disease symptoms. Its genome of 5,781 nucleotides (nt) encodes five open reading frames. The virus and other species of the genus Enamovirus share identities of 50.4%-68.4% at the complete genome, and 19.9%-51.9% of P0, 24.9%-52.5% of P1, 33.4%-62.9% of P1-P2, 30.6%-81.1% of P3, 32.3%-74.2% of P3-P5 at amino acid sequence level, respectively. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the virus is most closely related to Alfalfa enamovirus 1 and Pea enation mosaic virus 1 in the genus Enamovirus within family Solemoviridae. These results suggest that the virus should be considered as a novel species in the genus Enamovirus and tentatively named as “bean enamovirus 1”.

Twenty-eight naturally occurring Cephalotaxus tropone analogues, including 19 previously undescribed ones, were identified from Cephalotaxus fortunei Hook. var. alpina H. L. Li and C. lanceolata K. M. Feng. The presence of the C20 cephinoids A−E revealed that these tropones were assigned to the norditerpenoids and were perhaps derived from labdane-type diterpenoids. These norditerpenoids showed excellent cytotoxicity against human cancer cells (IC50, 20–0.1 μM) in vitro. The SAR (structure-activity relationship) analysis disclosed that the tropone moiety and the lactone ring were crucial structural features for the observed activities. Further SAR analyses led to a new candidate, cephinoid H, which demonstrated an inhibition of 49.0% by administration to zebrafish at a dose of 60.0 ng/mL, compared to cisplatin (DDP, 22.4%) at 15.0 μg/mL. These compounds might affect the NF-κB signaling pathway rather than binding to microtubules. Additionally, the isolated norditerpenoids showed almost equal anti-inflammatory activities compared to the positive control, MG132.

Background Although recent studies have indicated that both orthostatic hypotension and orthostatic hypertension independently predict cardiovascular events, the underlying mechanisms are still controversial. The aim of the study was to investigate the relationships between orthostatic changes and organ damage in subjects over 60 years old. Methods This is a prospective observational cohort study. One thousand nine hundred and ninety-seven subjects over 60 years old were enrolled. Participants were grouped according to whether they had a drop ≥ 20 mmHg in systolic or ≥ 10 mmHg in diastolic BP (orthostatic hypotension), an increase in mean orthostatic systolic blood pressure ≥ 20 mm Hg (orthostatic hypertension), or normal changes within 3 min of orthostatism. Multiple regression modeling was used to investigate the relationship between orthostatic hypotension, orthostatic hypertension and subclinical organ damage with adjustment for confounders. Results Orthostatic hypotension and orthostatic hypertension were found in 461 (23.1%) and 189 (9.5%) participants, respectively. Measurement of carotid intima-media thickness (IMT), brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV), clearance of creatinine, and microalbuminuria were associated with orthostatic hypotension; measurement of IMT and baPWV were associated with orthostatic hypertension in a cruse model. After adjustment, IMT [odds ratio (OR), 95% confidence interval (CI) per one-SD increment: 1.385, 1.052–1.823; P = 0.02], baPWV (OR = 1.627, 95% CI: 1.041–2.544; P = 0.033) and microalbuminuria (OR = 1.401, 95% CI: 1.002–1.958; P = 0.049) were still associated with orthostatic hypotension, while orthostatic hypertension was only associated with IMT (OR = 1.730, 95% CI: 1.143–2.618; P = 0.009). Conclusions Orthostatic hypotension seems to be independently correlated with increased carotid atherosclerosis, arterial stiffness and renal damage in subjects over 60 years old. Orthostatic hypertension correlates with carotid atherosclerosis only.

The aim of this study was to investigate whether clinic, cumulative, and 24h ambulatory systolic blood pressure (SBP) was associated with chronic kidney damage, defind as estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR)60 ml/(min·1.73 m2) and/or microalbuminuria ≥30 mg/L, and, if so, which measurement of SBP is more associated with chronic kidney damage in Chinese elderly. A total of 1207 participants older than 60 years old were included in the final analysis. Clinical blood pressure, cumulative blood pressure exposure was calculated and ambulatory 24h blood pressure was assessed. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that the clinic (p .001), cumulative (p = .033), 24h average (p .001), daytime (p = .001) and nighttime SBP (p = .001) were respectively associated with lower eGFR, and cumulative (p = .008), 24 average (p .001), daytime (p .001), and nighttime SBP (p .001) were the risk factors of microalbuminuria. The degree of correlation were strongest between 24h average SBP and chronic kidney damage (odds ratio, 1.78; 95% confidence interval, 1.46-2.15; p .001), clinic SBP and eGFR (odds ratio, 1.57; 95% confidence interval, 1.13-2.17; p = .007), nighttime SBP and microalbuminuria (odds ratio, 1.45; 95% confidence interval, 1.05-2.00; p = .024). The likelihood ratio test demonstrated that the introduction of 24h average SBP will improve the goodness of fit of the clinic SBP model(p .05), while the introduction of cumulative SBP exposure has no such effect(p .05). Cumulative SBP exposure seems inferior to other measurement in indentifying chronic kidney damage, including decreased GFR and microalbuminuria.

This paper describes a colorimetric approach to determine trace amounts of nitrite in water supplies, meat and dairy products using 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium-modified methyl red ([BMIM]MR) as a colour reagent. The technique capitalises on the catalytic effect of nitrite on the oxidative degradation of [BMIM]MR by potassium bromate in acidic media. The absorbances were proportional to nitrite concentrations in the range of 8.70 × 10−2 to 4.17 μM with a detection limit of 1.64 × 10−2 μM. Compared with the method using methyl red as a colour reagent, 60 times improvement of sensitivity was obtained. Activation energy and the apparent rate constant for the catalytic reaction are 61.11 kJ mol−1 and 1.18 × 104 s−1, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied for the analysis of nitrite in Yellow River water, chicken, and milk with recoveries ranging from 96% to 105%.

In this paper, a simple and green route for in situ growth of Au shell or grown Au NPs attached on the graphene oxide–iron oxide nanocomposite (GO Fe 3 O 4 ) was established. After functionalized with amino groups, the GO Fe 3 O 4 nanocomposites can adsorb negatively charged Au nanoparticles (Au NPs) which acted as gold seeds. Then the HAuCl 4 solution provides gold precursor with glucose serving as reducing reagent, whereby the crystal growth leads to the in situ growth of Au shell or grown Au NPs attached on the surface of GO Fe 3 O 4 , and a highly efficient catalyst denoted as GO Fe 3 O 4 Au NPs(G) was obtained. The prepared nanocomposites were characterized and their catalytic activity was evaluated using the reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) as a model reaction. It shows that the GO Fe 3 O 4 Au NPs(G) possess high catalytic performance for reduction of 4-NP with conversion rate of 100% within 100 s. Furthermore, the new catalyst can be stored for more than one month, easily recovered and reused at least for ten cycles. Comparing with the nanocomposites without crystal growth, the formation of Au shell or Au NPs attachment on the support via in situ growth approach not only apparently improves catalytic activity, recyclability but also increases their stability.

A new abietane diterpenoid, 12-O-methyl-20-deoxocarnosol-3-one (1), and eight known abietane diterpenoids including 13-abietadien-12-one (2), 5,6-dehydrosugiol (3), sugiol (4), torreyayunnin (5), taxusabietane A (6), hinokiol (7), 3-acetoxyabieta-8,11,13-trien-12-ol (8), and martiusane (9) were obtained from leaves and twigs of Cephalotaxus lanceolata. The structures of isolated compounds (1–9) were determined based on analysis of their spectroscopic data and comparison with those reported in the literature. Compounds 3, 8 and 9 were first isolated from the plants of Cephalotaxus genus.

At present, the flight velocity and flight performance of an aircraft are higher, so that aerodynamic noise caused by an engine jet in the take-off and flight processes can reach 160 dB. The high strength of the jet aerodynamic noise is very harmful to vehicle drivers, vehicle structures and airborne equipments. Two numerical calculation methods to aerodynamic noise, the FW-H acoustic analogy method and the FW-H acoustic analogy and boundary element combining method, were introduced. These two methods were used to predict the aerodynamic noise, and the numerical calculation results were compared with the physical experimental results. Results show that the FW-H acoustic analogy method can predict aerodynamic noise. However, it cannot predict the sound field distribution. The FW-H acoustic analogy and boundary element combining method is able to predict the sound field distribution with sound reflection.

Based on the concept of dynamic capabilities(Teece,1997), the paper used three dimensions to interpret the dynamic capabilities for entrepreneurship, then built Structural Equation Model(SEM) to quantitatively study the relationships between dynamic capacities and entrepreneurship performance. The study found that the leadership as the element of the dynamic capabilities for entrepreneurship played the most important role for high performance.

Based on entrepreneurial business growth Timmons (2004) and entrepreneurship education research results, focused on initial stage of entrepreneurship firms’ characteristics, the paper put forward a system of entrepreneurship education, and design the corresponding teaching program finally. This study has a certain reference value of optimization of current entrepreneurship education system to improve entrepreneurial talent.

In this work, a facile approach was successfully developed for in situ catalyzing Au nanoparticles loaded on Fe3O4@SiO2 magnetic nanospheres via Sn(2+) linkage and reduction. After the Fe3O4@SiO2 MNPs were first prepared via a sol-gel process, only one step was needed to synthesize the Fe3O4@SiO2-Au magnetic nanocomposites (Fe3O4@SiO2-Au MNCs), so that both the synthesis step and the reaction cost were remarkably decreased. Significantly, the as-synthesized Fe3O4@SiO2-Au MNCs showed high performance in the catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol and could be reused for several cycles with convenient magnetic separability. This approach provided a useful platform based on Fe3O4@SiO2 MNPs for the fabrication of Au or other noble metal magnetic nanocatalysts, which would be very useful in various catalytic reductions.

In this paper, we established a new on-line method using micelle to solvent stacking (MSS) technique combining with large amount sample electrokinetic stacking injection (LASEKSI) for the analysis of cationic molecules. In this MSS-LASEKSI, by modulating the integral EOF across the capillary, a equilibrium state was formed and can be maintained for a long time, leading to the continuous stacking of the analytes on the basis of MSS. Thereby, an extremely large amount sample was permitted to be injected into the capillary and then an improved enrichment fold can be achieved comparing with the each case. The variables affecting the performance of MSS-LASEKSI were investigated and discussed. Under the optimized conditions. 6.3 x 10(3)- and 6.4 x 10(2)-fold enrichment in peak heights upon normal CZE method (injected at 0.5 psi for 3 s) and number of plates of 2.9 x 10(6) and 6.5 x 10(5) were attained for berberine and theophylline, respectively. The developed method described here may provide prospects for exploiting a new concentration technique to achieve higher enrichment factor. (C) 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Focused on the multiple of object and uncertainty of environment for 3PLS to design the customizing logistics facility network, a fuzzy multi-object programming model and solution are studied deeply in this paper, the integration of the forward and reverse logistics demand for 3PLSpsila clients, and multi-commodity, multi-customer and capacitated facility location-allocation problem are taken into account. Moreover, the numerical example is analyzed to explain the feasibility of the fuzzy model and solution for 3PLS to design cost-effective and customer-adaptive logistics facility network.

In this work, we first discover that 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) can be used as a novel chromogenic agent for sensitive, convenient and rapid determination of benzoyl peroxide (BPO) in wheat flour. A simple colorimetric method based on the color reaction between TMB and BPO was developed. Factors influencing the color reaction were examined. Under the optimum conditions, the calibration linear range for detecting BPO was 0.67–16.00 μg mL−1 with a detection limit of 0.45 μg mL−1 in aqueous solution. The method was successfully applied to detect BPO in wheat flour, with recoveries between 97% and 118%. More significantly, the existence of BPO can be evaluated by the naked eye easily without the aid of any instrumentation and requiring no sample preparation operation. TMB was proved to be an efficient and robust chromogenic reagent for the detection of BPO in wheat flour.

In this report, graphene oxide-Fe(3)O(4) magnetic nanocomposites were demonstrated to possess intrinsic peroxidase-like activity and enhanced affinity toward H(2)O(2). The nanocomposites retain their magnetic properties and can be effectively separated by a magnet. Significantly, they were proved to be novel peroxidase mimetics which could quickly catalyze oxidation of the peroxidase substrate 3,3,5,5-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) in the presence of H(2)O(2), producing a blue-colored solution. Kinetic analysis indicates that the catalytic behavior is in accord with typical Michaelis-Menten kinetics and follows a ping-pong mechanism. On the basis of the high activity, the reaction provides a simple, sensitive and selective method for colorimetric detection of glucose in diabetic urine.
