Endoscopic resection for duodenal gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) is still considered a great challenge with a high risk of complications, including perforation, bleeding, tumor rupture, and residual tumor.To assess the effectiveness and safety of endoscopic resection for duodenal GISTs.Between January 2010 and January 2022, 11 patients with duodenal GISTs were treated with endoscopic resection. Data were extracted for the incidence of complete resection, bleeding, perforation, postoperative infection, recurrence, and distant metastasis.The incidence of successful complete resection of duodenal GISTs was 100%. Three cases (27.3%) had suspected positive margins, and the other 8 cases (72.7%) had negative vertical and horizontal margins. Perforation occurred in all 11 patients. The success rate of perforation closure was 100%, while 1 patient (9.1%) had suspected delayed perforation. All bleeding during the procedure was managed by endoscopic methods. One case (9.1%) had delayed bleeding. Postoperative infection occurred in 6 patients (54.5%), including 1 who developed septic shock and 1 who developed a right iliac fossa abscess. All 11 patients recovered and were discharged. The mean hospital stay was 15.3 d. During the follow-up period (14-80 mo), duodenal stenosis occurred in 1 case (9.1%), and no local recurrence or distant metastasis were detected.Endoscopic resection for duodenal GISTs appears to be an effective and safe minimally invasive treatment when performed by an experienced endoscopist.

Atmospheric particle is one of the risk factors for respiratory disease; however, their injury mechanisms are poorly understood, and prevention methods are highly desirable. We constructed artificial PM2.5 (aPM2.5) particles according to the size and composition of actual PM2.5 collected in Beijing. Using these artificial particles, we created an inhalation-injury animal model. These aPM2.5 particles simulate the physical and chemical characteristics of the actual PM2.5, and inhalation of the aPM2.5 in rat results in a time-dependent change in lung suggesting a declined lung function, injury from oxidative stress and inflammation in lung. Thus, this aPM2.5-caused injury animal model may mimic that of the pulmonary injury in human exposed to airborne particles. In addition, polydatin (PD), a resveratrol glucoside that is rich in grapes and red wine, was found to significantly decrease the oxidative potential (OP) of aPM2.5in vitro. Treating the model rats with PD prevented the lung function decline caused by aPM2.5, and reduced the level of oxidative damage in aPM2.5-exposed rats. Moreover, PD inhibited aPM2.5-induced inflammation response, as evidenced by downregulation of white blood cells in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), inflammation-related lipids and proinflammation cytokines in lung. These results provide a practical means for self-protection against particulate air pollution.

The current study applied connected iterative scan (CIS), a graph-theoretical-based approach that was previously developed to detect clusters among social networks, in detecting the functional clusters among the biological neural network of human brain extracted from resting-state functional MRI data. Unlike traditional clustering or modularity methods, CIS allows for overlapping among the detected clusters. CIS was tested on a simulation dataset as well as a biological dataset. CIS was able to detect the overlaps designed in the simulation dataset; CIS was also able to detect the designed overlap in the simulation dataset, and it also detected the overlap between the two networks in the biological dataset, which provided new knowledge about the architecture of the biological neural network. In conclusion, CIS is shown to be useful for revealing the delicate structures among the functional clusters in the biological neural network.

According to the reality of the Chinese college education informatization development and the relying on the national informatization index system. This paper designs the university informatization evaluation index system and establish mathematical evaluation model by using principal component analysis method. This model quantitatively measure university informatization development level in order to provide necessary information and decision for establishing university education development strategy and policy. Finally, it shows that the university informatization evaluation index system has got a good result when it is used in practice of College Education Informatization Evaluation through questionnaire investigation and expert consultation method.
