1. The coupling mechanism between crossed-beams energy transfer and stimulated Brillouin scattering in homogeneous plasmas

Abstract: The coupling mechanism between crossed beams energy transfer and stimulated Brillouin scattering in homogeneous plasmas are studied by theoretical analysis, fluid simulations and particle in cell(PIC) simulations. The numerical models of laser plasma instabilities are constructed by solving coupling equations with Schodinger equations form, and the fluid simulation results are confirmed by fluid theory and PIC simulations.In the parameter regime when the pump depletion does not occur in CBET and the reflectivity of SBS is lower than 1%, SBS will be affected by CBET, the CBET energy gain will still agree with theoretical predications. However, In the parameter regime when the pump depletion does occur in CBET and the reflectivity of SBS is higher than 1%, the CBET spatial gain will be reduced by the interaction of CBET and SBS, and the huge difference of SBS reflectivity for two crossed laser beams is observed.In the PIC simulations, we found that lower ZTe=Ti will significantly reduce the interaction between CBET and SBS (Z is the ion charge, Teis the electron temperature, Ti is the ion temperature)., Comment: 10pages,11 figures

2. Searching for bound states in the open strangeness systems

Abstract: Inspired by the recent findings of $Z_{cs}$ and $P_{cs}$ states, we investigate the strong interactions of the systems with open strangeness(es) from the light sector to the heavy sector (no beauty quark), where the interaction potential is derived from the vector meson exchange mechanism in $t$- and $u$-channels. In the current work, we discuss all of single channel cases for the open strangeness in the systemic framework, where the resonances $X_0(2866)$, $D^*_{s0}(2317)$ and $D_{s1}(2460)$ are dynamically generated. 4. Triangle singularity in the $J/\psi \to \phi \pi^+ a_0^-(\pi^- \eta),\; \phi \pi^- a_0^+(\pi^+ \eta)$ decays

Abstract: We study the $J/\psi \to \phi \pi^+ a_0(980)^- (a_0^- \to \pi^- \eta)$ decay, evaluating the double mass distribution in terms of the $\pi^- \eta$ and $\pi^+ a^-_0$ invariant masses. We show that the $\pi^- \eta$ mass distribution exhibits the typical cusp structure of the $a_0(980)$ seen in recent high statistics experiments, and the $\pi^+ a^-_0$ spectrum shows clearly a peak around $M_{\rm inv}(\pi^+ a^-_0)=1420 \,{\rm MeV}$, corresponding to a triangle singularity. When integrating over the two invariant masses we find a branching ratio for this decay of the order of $10^{-5}$, which is easily accessible in present laboratories. We also call attention to the fact that the signal obtained is compatible with a bump experimentally observed in the $\eta \pi^+\pi^-$ mass distribution in the $J/\psi \to \phi \eta \pi^+\pi^-$ decay and encourage further analysis to extract from there the $\phi \pi^+ a_0^-$ and $\phi \pi^- a_0^+$ decay modes., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures; V2: discussion added, references added, version to appear in Phys. This study aims to explore the clinicopathological factors related to LNM in stages T3 and T4a LAGC, while also developing predictive nomograms.Methods: After systematic searching and rigorous screening, 1995 T3 and 1244 T4a LAGC cases who underwent surgery without neoadjuvant or perioperative chemotherapy were selected. The risk factors associated with LNM were identified using both univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses. Subsequently, the independent variables identified through the multivariate analyses were utilized to construct a nomogram.Results: The incidence of LNM in T3 and T4a LAGC was 77.1% (1539/1995) and 83.8% (1043/1244), respectively. The following factors were found to be independently associated with LNM in T3 LAGC: preoperative serum albumin < 41g/L (P=0.007), gastrointestinal obstruction (P< 0.001), tumor location (P=0.040), tumor size > 4cm (P=0.002), mixed (P=0.001) and undifferentiated histological types (P=0.002), presence of lymphovascular invasion (LVI) (P< 0.001) and nerve invasion (P< 0.001). Additionally, in T4a LAGC cases, serum albumin < 39g/L (P=0.004), tumor size > 6cm (P=0.020), mixed (P< 0.001) and undifferentiated histological types (P< 0.001), presence of gastrointestinal hemorrhage (P=0.016), neuroendocrine differentiation (P=0.024), and LVI (P< 0.001) independently influenced the occurrence of LNM.Conclusion: This study identified the risk factors associated with LNM in T3-4a LAGC cases and constructed nomograms, thereby providing valuable guidance for formulating and implementing a multidisciplinary perioperative treatment program.Keywords: locally advanced gastric cancer, lymph node metastasis, clinicopathological factors, nomogram

This study aims to identify the susceptibility conferred by specific single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), namely rs17548629 within the RIPK1 gene and rs10094579 within the RIPK2 gene, in RA. Additionally, it investigates the associations between inflammatory markers and biochemical parameters at various stages of the disease.Methods: We analyzed 394 patients with RA and 258 normal controls (NCs), examining SNPs within the RIPK1 (rs17548629) and RIPK2 (rs10094579) genes using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and sequencing techniques. Profiles of RA patients were evaluated for inflammatory markers, including C-reactive protein (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), as well as biochemical parameters such as alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), urea, glucose, uric acid, and creatinine. Additionally, disease-specific indicators included cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP), rheumatoid factor (RF), antinuclear antibodies (ANA), and anti-keratin antibodies. The Disease Activity Score 28 (DAS28), based on ESR, was used to categorize RA patients into groups of high, moderate, or low disease activity.Results: We found a significant association between the RIPK1 rs17548629 genotype and RA in the additive model (p < 0.001; OR = 3.23), over-dominant model (p < 0.001; OR = 0.27), and dominant model (p < 0.001; OR = 3.94). The frequency of the C allele at rs17548629 was significantly higher in NCs than in RA patients (p < 0.001; OR = 0.322). When compared with normal controls, the RIPK1 rs17548629 genotype demonstrated significant associations with both anti-CCP-positive RA patients (p < 0.001) and anti-CCP-negative RA patients (p < 0.001). Similarly, this genotype was associated with RF-positive RA patients (p < 0.001). Furthermore, the RIPK2 rs10094579 genotype was significantly associated with CRP levels in RA patients with low disease activity in the over-dominant model (p = 0.029; OR = 0.065, adjusted for age and sex).Conclusion: The presence of the RIPK1 rs17548629 genotype is associated with RA under additive, co-dominant, and dominant models. The T allele mutation at rs17548629 increases the risk of RA in the Chinese population. The RIPK1 rs17548629 genotype was identified as being associated with RF-positive RA patients, whereas no significant association was observed in RF-negative individuals. These findings suggest that this SNP may modulate the risk of RA in an RF-dependent manner. Furthermore, the RIPK2 rs10094579 genotype correlates with CRP levels in RA patients exhibiting low disease activity. This association underscores the necessity for caution when reducing the dosage of therapy in RA patients with low disease activity who carry the CA genotype at RIPK2 rs10094579. 7. Are the $a_{0}(1710)$ or $a_{0}(1817)$ resonances in the $D_{s}^{+} \rightarrow K_{S}^{0}K^{+}\pi^{0}$ decay?

Abstract: The BESIII Collaboration claimed that a new $a_{0}(1817)$ resonance was found in the recent results of the $D_{s}^{+} \rightarrow K_{S}^{0}K^{+}\pi^{0}$ decay. For this decay process, we perform a unitary amplitude to analyze the contributions of the states $a_{0}(980)^{+}$ and $a_{0}(1710)^{+}$ with the final state interactions. Considering the Cabibbo-favored external and internal $W$-emission mechanisms at the quark level, and the contributions of the resonances $a_{0}(980)^{+}$, $a_{0}(1710)^{+}$ in the $S$-wave and $\bar{K}^{*}(892)^{0}$, ${K}^{*}(892)^{+}$ in the $P$-wave, the recent experimental data of the $K_{S}^{0}K^{+}$ invariant mass spectrum from the BESIII Collaboration can be described well. In our results, the states $a_{0}(980)$ and $a_{0}(1710)$ are dynamically generated from the final state interactions of $K\bar{K}$ and $K^{*}\bar{K}^{*}$, respectively, which support the molecular nature for them. Moreover, some obtained branching fractions are in agreement with the experimental measurements.

8. Effects of frequency-modulated pump on stimulated Brillouin scattering in inhomogeneous plasmas

Abstract: The effects of a frequency-modulated pump on stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in a flowing plasma are investigated by theoretical analysis, three-wave simulations, and kinetic simulations. The resonance point of SBS oscillates in a certain spatial region with time when frequency modulations are applied. There exists a certain frequency modulation that causes the velocity of resonant points to be similar to the group velocity of the seed laser, which increases the SBS reflectivity. The SBS can also be suppressed by frequency modulation with larger bandwidth. In the kinetic simulations, the effects of the frequency-modulated pump on the reflectivity agree with our theoretical predictions. Multi-location autoresonance is also observed in the narrow-bandwidth frequency modulation case, which can also increase the SBS reflectivity. Our work provides a method for selecting the laser bandwidth to inhibit SBS in inhomogeneous plasmas.

Abstract: The Super $\tau$-Charm facility (STCF) is an electron-positron collider proposed by the Chinese particle physics community. It is designed to operate in a center-of-mass energy range from 2 to 7 GeV with a peak luminosity of $0.5\times 10^{35}{\rm cm}^{-2}{\rm s}^{-1}$ or higher. The STCF will produce a data sample about a factor of 100 larger than that by the present $\tau$-Charm factory -- the BEPCII, providing a unique platform for exploring the asymmetry of matter-antimatter (charge-parity violation), in-depth studies of the internal structure of hadrons and the nature of non-perturbative strong interactions, as well as searching for exotic hadrons and physics beyond the Standard Model. The STCF project in China is under development with an extensive R\&D program. This document presents the physics opportunities at the STCF, describes conceptual designs of the STCF detector system, and discusses future plans for detector R\&D and physics case studies.

Preoperative scans with 3D-FIESTA-c and 3D-TOF-MRA were performed, and MRVE images were obtained to analyze the relationship between the trigeminal nerve and adjacent vessels. Using the findings during microvascular decompression (MVD) surgery as the gold standard, the diagnostic results of 3D-TOF-MRA + 3D-FIESTA-c were considered as group I, while the combined use of MRVE, 3D-TOF-MRA + 3D-FIESTA-c was considered as group II.Results: In 240 cases, group I had a positive rate of 96.25% and an accuracy rate of 86.25% for identifying responsible blood vessels, while group II had a positive rate of 98.3% and an accuracy rate of 94.17%. There were no statistically significant differences in positive rates between group I and group II, group I and MVD, or group II and MVD (P > 0.05). However, there were statistically significant differences in accuracy rates (P < 0.05). The accuracy for single and multiple arteries with group I was 99.38% and 80.0%, respectively, while with group II, it was 100% and 95.0%. No statistically significant difference was found in accuracy for single or multiple arteries (P> 0.05). The accuracy of evaluating responsibility veins with or without other vessels was 52.73% and 80.0%, respectively, with a statistically significant difference (P< 0.05).Conclusion: MRVE combined with 3D-TOF-MRA + 3D-FIESTA-c significantly improves the accuracy of identifying responsibility vessels, especially veins, in preoperative assessment for MVD. This has important clinical implications for preoperative decision-making and surgical planning. This study explored the molecular mechanisms through which luteolin combats fibrosis in DN.Methods: Potential targets affected by luteolin and genes associated with DN were collected from databases. Overlapping targets between luteolin and diabetic nephropathy were identified through Venn analysis. A protein-protein interaction network was constructed using these common targets, and critical pathways and targets were elucidated through GO and KEGG analysis. These pathways and targets were confirmed using a streptozotocin-induced mouse model. Luteolin was administered at 45 mg/kg and 90 mg/kg. Various parameters were evaluated, including body weight, blood glucose levels, and histopathological examinations. Protein levels related to energy metabolism, inflammation, and fibrosis were quantified.Results: Fifty-three targets associated with luteolin and 36 genes related to diabetic nephropathy were extracted. The AGE-RAGE signaling pathway was the key pathway impacted by luteolin in diabetic nephropathy. Key molecular targets include TGF-β, IL-1β, and PPARG. Luteolin reduced body weight and blood glucose levels, lowered the left kidney index, and improved insulin and glucose tolerance. Furthermore, luteolin mitigated inflammatory cell infiltration, basement membrane thickening, and collagen deposition in the kidney. Luteolin up-regulated the protein expression of p-AMPKα (Th172) while simultaneously down-regulated the protein expression of p-NF-&kgreen;B (p65), NLRP3, TGF-β 1, α-SMA, and Collagen I.Conclusion: Luteolin mitigated renal fibrosis by alleviating energy metabolism disruptions and inflammation by modulating the AMPK/NLRP3/TGF-β signaling pathway.Keywords: diabetic nephropathy, network pharmacology, inflammation, TGF-β, fibrosis

It is triggered by an immunological reaction of the gums to plaque, which leads to the destruction of periodontal attachment structures. Periodontitis is one of the most commonly recognized dental disorders in the world and a major factor in the loss of adult teeth. Scaling and root planing remain crucial for managing patients with persistent periodontitis. Nevertheless, exclusive reliance on mechanical interventions like periodontal surgery, extractions, and root planning is insufficient to halt the progression of periodontitis. In response to the problem of bacterial resistance, some researchers are committed to finding alternative therapies to antibiotics. In addition, some scholars focus on finding new materials to provide a powerful microenvironment for periodontal tissue regeneration and promote osteogenic repair. Nanoparticles possess distinct therapeutic qualities, including exceptional antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, immunomodulatory capacities, and the promotion of bone regeneration ability, which made them can be used for the treatment of periodontitis. However, there are many problems that limit the clinical translation of nanoparticles, such as toxic accumulation in cells, poor correlation between in vitro and in vivo, and poor animal-to-human transmissibility. In this paper, we review the present researches on nanoparticles in periodontitis treatment from the perspective of three main categories: inorganic nanoparticles, organic nanoparticles, and nanocomposites (including nanofibers, hydrogels, and membranes). The aim of this review is to provide a comprehensive and recent update on nanoparticles-based therapies for periodontitis. The conclusion section summarizes the opportunities and challenges in the design and clinical translation of nanoparticles for the treatment of periodontitis. 13. Impacts of Major Changes in China’s COVID-19 Prevention and Control Policies on Emergency Department Visits: A Quasi-Experiment

The study period ranged from January 1, 2018, to September 30, 2023, and was divided into four distinct periods: pre-epidemic, pandemic, normalized control, and end of control. Using a quasi-Poisson regression model, we examined the specific effects of these policies on emergency visits, with a particular focus on stratifying patients based on respiratory versus non-respiratory diseases.Results: Compared to the pre-pandemic period, the number of ED visits in a tertiary hospital decreased by 38.5% (95% CI: 25.1% to 49.8%) during the COVID-19 pandemic, of which the number of ED visits for respiratory diseases increased by 79.4% (95% CI: 13.2% to 177.2%) and the number of ED visits for non-respiratory diseases decreased by 45.9% (95% CI: − 55.7% to − 34.2%). After the end of the epidemic control, the total number of ED visits increased by 31.5% (95% CI: 19.1% to 45.0%), with the number of ED visits for respiratory diseases rising by 379.2% (95% CI: 275.9% to 511.8%), but with no significant change in the number of ED visits for non-respiratory emergencies.Conclusion: Control policies were associated with people avoiding emergency care for non-respiratory related reasons during the pandemic, while the end of control policies was associated with a sharp rise in emergency care for respiratory diseases. 14. Study of charm and beauty mass spectra, semileptonic decays of $B_{(s,c)}$ and ${B_c} \to J/\psi ({\eta _c}) + P(V)$ in a phenomenological potential model

Abstract: Using a non-relativistic potential model, we obtain the mass spectra, leptonic decay constants, and parameters of the Isgur-Wise function for the beauty and charm mesons. With the calculated quantities, we investigate purely leptonic decays of $B^+$, $B^{*}$, $B_c^+$, semileptonic decay modes ${B_{(s)}} \to {D_{(s)}}l\nu $ and ${B_c} \to {\eta _c}\ell \bar \nu $ for three lepton channels $e,\mu ,\tau$, and obtain the corresponding branching fractions. $\bar B_{(s)}^{} \to D_{(s)}^*l\bar \nu $ transitions are also studied. Next, we apply the form factors for spin zero and spin one transitions of $B_c$ to calculate the nonleptonic branching ratios of ${B_c} \to J/\psi ({\eta _c}) + P(V)$, where $P$ and $V$ stand for the $D_q^{* - }$ vector meson and the $D_q$ pseudoscalar meson, respectively. Our results are found to be in agreement with those obtained in the experimental and theoretical results.

15. Study of the resonance contributions in the $\Xi_{b}^{-} \rightarrow pK^{-}K^{-}$ decay

Abstract: The decay process $\Xi_{b}^{-} \rightarrow pK^{-}K^{-}$ is studied with the final state interaction approach by considering the contributions from the $S$-wave meson-baryon interactions, and also the intermediate state $\Lambda(1520)$ in the $D$-wave. The low-lying resonances $\Lambda(1405)$ and $\Lambda(1670)$ have significant contributions, which are both dynamically generated from the $S$-wave final state interactions with isospin $I=0$. Furthermore, the $\Lambda(1520)$ state also has important contributions from $D$-wave. With these resonances contributions, the experimental data of the lower $pK^{-}$ invariant mass distributions are well described. We also discuss the contribution of another resonance in the $S$-wave with isospoin $I=1$, which cannot be ignored. 16. Enhanced strong-coupling stimulated Brillouin amplification assisted by Raman amplification

Abstract: Higher intensity of strong-coupling stimulated Brillouin scattering (SC-SBS) amplification is achieved by supplementary Raman amplification. In the new scheme, a Raman pump laser first amplifies the seed pulse in the homogeneous plasma, then a SC-SBS pump laser continues the amplification in the inhomogeneous plasma in order to suppress the spontaneous instability of pump lasers. The intensity of seed laser gets higher and the duration of seed laser gets shorter than that in the pure SC-SBS scheme with the same incident energy, while the energy conversion effciency is not significantly reduced. We also found that the SC-SBS amplification is seeded by the \pi pulse of Raman amplification. The results obtained from envelope coupling equations, Vlasov simulations and two-dimensional particle-in-cell(PIC) simulations agree with each other. This scheme is a simple and effective way to improve the SC-SBS amplification and is easy to implement in experiments.

17. Investigations of the semileptonic decays of $D$ and $D_s$ into a pseudoscalar meson using the Isgur-Wise Functions

Abstract: The branching ratios of the semileptonic decay widths of the charm mesons are analyzed, using three different models for the Isgur-Wise functions, such as ${D^0} \to {K^ - }{l^ + }\upsilon $, ${D^0} \to {\pi ^ - }{l^ + }\nu $, ${D_s} \to {K^0}{l^ + }\nu $ and ${D_s} \to \eta {l^ + }\nu$, where the form factors of these decays are discussed. The mass spectra of the charm mesons are obtained. We use a potential quark model and consider the non-relativistic Hamiltonian of the charm meson as a bound state of the quark-antiquark system. We take into account the harmonic-type confinement and also Hellmann potential, which is a superposition of the Coulomb and the Yukawa potential. Using the variational approach along with the harmonic oscillator wave functions, we evaluate the mass spectra of the charm mesons, the form factors and the semileptonic decay widths of $D_{(s)}$. We present our results for masses of $D, D_s$ and $\eta$, the Isgur-Wise functions, the form factors of the semileptonic decays, and the branching fractions of the semileptonic decays of $D$ and $D_s$. Our results are motivating.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Ma’s bamboo-based medicinal moxibustion for low back pain in LDH.Methods: A total of 312 LDH patients with low back pain were randomized to receive Ma’s bamboo-based medicinal moxibustion (MBMM) or acupuncture (AT). The primary efficacy measure was the change of Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) on the 14th day compared with that at baseline. The secondary efficacy measures included VAS score, Oswestry disability index (ODI), modified Japanese Orthopaedic Association (M-JOA) score, and the content of β-endorphin (β-EP) and substance-P (SP). The safety measures included the occurrence of adverse events and the changes in laboratory indicators.Results: In total, 304 patients were incorporated for the analysis of efficacy, including 96 males and 208 females, aged 21– 65 years. There was no statistically significant difference in the change of VAS score between the two groups on the 14th day [mean difference (95% CI) = − 2.31 (− 2.48, − 2.13) and − 2.28 (− 2.45, − 2.11), respectively; p = 0.819]. The VAS, ODI, and M-JOA scores changed after the intervention in both groups (p < 0.001), with increased β-EP content (p = 0.014, p = 0.032) and decreased SP content (p < 0.001, p = 0.048). The ODI score (p = 0.039) and M-JOA score (p = 0.032) of the MBMM group on the 28th day were lower than those of the AT group.Conclusion: The efficacy of Ma’s bamboo-based medicinal moxibustion therapy in relieving low back pain of LDH patients is comparable to that of acupuncture, and it has post-effect advantages in improving lumbar dysfunction and daily living ability, which can be used as a safe and effective alternative method for LDH treatment.Keywords: LDH, low back pain, Ma’s bamboo-based medicinal moxibustion, acupuncture, randomized controlled trial

However, the antitumor effects of MVs isolated from Gram-positive bacteria have rarely been investigated.Methods: MVs of Staphylococcus aureus USA300 were prepared and their antitumor efficacy was evaluated using tumor-bearing mouse models. A gene knock-in assay was performed to generate luciferase Antares2–MVs for bioluminescent detection. Cell counting kit-8 and lactic dehydrogenase release assays were used to detect the toxicity of the MVs against tumor cells in vitro. Active caspase-1 and gasdermin D (GSDMD) levels were determined using Western blot, and the tumor inhibition ability of MVs was determined in B16F10 cells treated with a caspase-1 inhibitor.Results: The vesicular particles of S. aureus USA300 MVs were 55.23 ± 8.17 nm in diameter, and 5 μg of MVs remarkably inhibited the growth of B16F10 melanoma in C57BL/6 mice and CT26 colon adenocarcinoma in BALB/c mice. The bioluminescent signals correlated well with the concentrations of the engineered Antares2–MVs (R2 = 0.999), and the sensitivity for bioluminescence imaging was 4 × 10− 3 μg. Antares2–MVs can directly target tumor tissues in vivo, and 20 μg/mL Antares2–MVs considerably reduced the growth of B16F10 and CT26 tumor cells, but not non-carcinomatous bEnd.3 cells. MV treatment substantially increased the level of active caspase-1, which processes GSDMD to trigger pyroptosis in tumor cells. Blocking caspase-1 activation with VX-765 significantly protected tumor cells from MV killing in vitro and in vivo.Conclusion: S. aureus MVs can kill tumor cells by activating the pyroptosis pathway, and the induction of pyroptosis in tumor cells is a promising strategy for cancer treatment. Drawing from organizational learning theory and social network theory, this study, based on the Input-Mediator-Output (IMO) model, explores the effects of the interaction between centralization and tie strength in communication networks on team performance, as well as the mediating mechanisms of knowledge sharing behavior and team resilience performance in engineering project teams.Methods: Drawing on classic group communication experiment, we design an online communication and collaboration platform to simulate the execution of a construction engineering project. Finally, data was collected through the communication experiment with 720 participants, and hypotheses were tested using ANOVA and PROCESS.Results: The results indicate that under conditions of weak tie strength, centralized communication networks yield higher performance. Conversely, under conditions of strong tie strength, decentralized communication networks demonstrate superior performance. Furthermore, this study also verifies the mediating role of knowledge sharing behavior and team resilience performance when tie strength is strong.Conclusion: This study focuses on engineering project team, exploring the evolutionary development of knowledge sharing behavior and team resilience performance from the perspective of the interaction of communication network structural characteristics, as well as the paths to enhancing team performance. Our research results highlight the interactive effects of structural indicators and relational indicators of communication networks, revealing the mechanism by which the structure of communication networks impacts team performance. Additionally, from the perspectives of forming and timely adjusting team communication models, and motivating and supporting employee communication behavior, our study provides practical insights for project managers and relevant administrators.Keywords: engineering project team, communication network, knowledge sharing behavior, team resilience performance, team performance

Septic shock and acute lung injury (ALI) are the main etiology of death caused by sepsis. Glucocorticoids, which are commonly used in clinic to antagonize the inflammatory response of sepsis, may cause serious side effects. Isoforskolin (ISOF) from the plant Coleus forskohlii stimulates adenylyl cyclase, increases the cAMP level and inhibits inflammatory response. The aim of this study was to investigate the synergistic effect of ISOF with dexamethasone (DEX) to prevent and ameliorate septic inflammation.Methods: Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of 30 and 5 mg/kg (iv.) was used to induce sepsis and ALI mice model respectively in vivo. BEAS-2B cells stimulated by LPS were applied as cell model in vitro. The cumulative survival of mice with LPS-induced sepsis and the histopathological changes of lungs in mice with acute lung injury were observed, and the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines was analyzed by ELISA. The expression of RGS2 in BEAS-2B cells was detected by immunoblotting assay and PCR.Results: In the sepsis mice model, ISOF (10 mg/kg) combined with DEX (10 mg/kg.) (ip.) pretreatment significantly increased mice survival rate from 33.3% to 58.3%, which was significantly higher than that of ISOF or DEX treated alone. In the ALI mice model, ISOF, DEX pretreatment alone and combined application attenuated pulmonary pathological changes in ALI mice. Furthermore, ISOF, DEX alone or combined administration decreased MPO, MDA, IL-6, and IL-8 levels, while significantly synergistic effects were observed in the combined treatment group compared with ISOF or DEX alone. 23. Study of $\bar{B}^0_{(s)}$ decaying into $D^0$ and $\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$, $K^{+}K^{-}$, or $\pi^{0}\eta$ with final state interactions

Abstract: We investigate the resonant contributions in the decays $\bar{B}^0_{(s)} \to D^0 \pi^{+}\pi^{-}$, $\bar{B}^0_{(s)} \to D^0 K^{+}K^{-}$, and $\bar{B}^{0} \rightarrow D^{0} \pi^{0}\eta$ by considering the final state interactions within the chiral unitary approach. The scalar resonances produced dynamically from the final state interactions of these decays are the ones of $f_{0}(500)$, $f_{0}(980)$, and $a_{0}(980)$. In addition, the vector mesons $\rho$ and $\phi$ produced in the $p$-wave are also taken into account. From the invariant mass distributions of $B^{0}$ decays, one can see that the contributions of the states $f_{0}(500)$ and $a_{0}(980)$ are remarkably larger than the one of $f_{0}(980)$. However, for the case of $B^{0}_{s}$ decays only a clear structure closed to the $K^{+} K^{-}$ threshold appears, which corresponds to the $f_{0}(980)$ state and has no signal for the $f_{0}(500)$ resonance. The dominant contributions are from the vector meson $\phi$ for the decay $\bar{B}^0_s \to D^0 K^{+}K^{-}$, where the results of the $K^{+} K^{-}$ invariant mass distributions are in agreement with the experimental data up to $1.1$ GeV. Moreover, the branching fractions and the ratios of branching fractions are also investigated, where some of them are consistent with the experimental measurements, and the branching fraction $\text{Br}(\bar{B}^{0} \rightarrow D^{0} a_{0}(980) [a_{0}(980) \to \pi^{0}\eta])=(6.08 \pm 0.72)\times 10^{-5}$ and the ratio of branching fractions $\text{Br}(\bar{B}^{0}\rightarrow D^0 f_{0}(980))/\text{Br}(\bar{B}^{0}\rightarrow D^0 a_{0}(980))=0.13 \pm 0.03$ are predicted., Comment: More comments have been done with more references. Abstract: The detection of the 11.3-micron emission feature characteristic of the Si--C stretch in carbon-rich evolved stars reveals that silicon carbide (SiC) dust grains are condensed in the outflows of carbon stars. SiC dust could be a significant constituent of interstellar dust since it is generally believed that carbon stars inject a considerable amount of dust into the interstellar medium (ISM). The presence of SiC dust in the ISM is also supported by the identification of presolar SiC grains of stellar origin in primitive meteorites. However, the 11.3-micron absorption feature of SiC has never been seen in the ISM and oxidative destruction of SiC is often invoked. In this work we quantitatively explore the destruction of interstellar SiC dust through oxidation based on molecular dynamics simulations and density functional theory calculations. We find that the reaction of an oxygen atom with SiC molecules and clusters is exothermic and could cause CO-loss. Nevertheless, even if this is extrapolable to bulk SiC dust, the destruction rate of SiC dust through oxidation could still be considerably smaller than the (currently believed) injection rate from carbon stars. Therefore, the lack of the 11.3-micron absorption feature of SiC dust in the ISM remains a mystery. A possible solution may lie in the currently believed stellar injection rate of SiC (which may have been overestimated) and/or the size of SiC dust (which may actually be considerably smaller than submicron in size)., Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures; accepted for publication in MNRAS

Abstract: We investigate the scalar resonances in the processes of $D^{0} \rightarrow \pi^{0}\pi^{0}\pi^{0}, \pi^{0}\pi^{0}\eta, \pi^{0}\eta\eta$ decays based on the chiral unitary approach for the final state interaction. We start from singly Cabibbo-suppressed production diagrams which provide a primary quark pair to hadronize two pseudoscalar mesons in $D^{0}$ decays. The resonances $f_{0}(500)$, $f_{0}(980)$ and $a_{0}(980)$ are dynamically produced from the final state interactions of the meson pairs. In our results, the experimental data for the $\pi^{0}\eta$ invariant mass spectrum of the $D^{0} \rightarrow \pi^{0}\eta\eta$ decay can be described well. We also make the predictions for the $\pi^{0}\pi^{0}$ invariant mass spectrum of the $D^{0} \rightarrow \pi^{0}\pi^{0}\pi^{0}$, where the $f_{0}(980)$ can be found, and for the $\pi^{0}\pi^{0}$, $\pi^{0}\eta$ invariant mass spectrum of the $D^{0} \rightarrow \pi^{0}\pi^{0}\eta$, where the $f_{0}(500)$, $f_{0}(980)$ and $a_{0}(980)$ appear. Furthermore, the branching ratios of each decay channel are predicted. We expect more accurate measurements of these decays to better understand the nature of the states $f_{0}(500)$, $f_{0}(980)$ and $a_{0}(980)$.

Abstract: Solar wind parameters play a dominant role in reconnection rate, which controls the solar wind-magnetosphere coupling efficiency at Earth's magnetopause. Besides, low-energy ions from the ionosphere, frequently detected on the magnetospheric side of the magnetopause, also affect magnetic reconnection. However, the specific role of low-energy ions in reconnection is still an open question under active discussion. In the present work, we report in situ observations of a multiscale, multi-type magnetopause reconnection in the presence of low-energy ions using NASA's Magnetospheric Multiscale data on 11 September 2015. This study divides ions into cold and hot populations. The observations can be interpreted as a secondary reconnection dominated by electrons and cold ions located at the edge of an ion-scale reconnection. This analysis demonstrates a dominant role of cold ions in the secondary reconnection without hot ions' response. Cold ions and electrons are accelerated and heated by the secondary process. The case study provides observational evidence for the simultaneous operation of antiparallel and component reconnection. Our results imply that the pre-accelerated and heated cold ions and electrons in the secondary reconnection may participate in the primary ion-scale reconnection affecting the solar wind-magnetopause coupling and the complicated magnetic field topology affect the reconnection rate.

27. An Experimental Study of Class Imbalance in Federated Learning

Abstract: Federated learning is a distributed machine learning paradigm that trains a global model for prediction based on a number of local models at clients while local data privacy is preserved. Class imbalance is believed to be one of the factors that degrades the global model performance. However, there has been very little research on if and how class imbalance can affect the global performance. class imbalance in federated learning is much more complex than that in traditional non-distributed machine learning, due to different class imbalance situations at local clients. Class imbalance needs to be re-defined in distributed learning environments. In this paper, first, we propose two new metrics to define class imbalance -- the global class imbalance degree (MID) and the local difference of class imbalance among clients (WCS). Then, we conduct extensive experiments to analyze the impact of class imbalance on the global performance in various scenarios based on our definition. Our results show that a higher MID and a larger WCS degrade more the performance of the global model. Besides, WCS is shown to slow down the convergence of the global model by misdirecting the optimization.

Abstract: We investigate the $D_{s}^{+} \rightarrow K^{+} K^{-} \pi^{+}$ decay theoretically with the final state interactions, which is based on the chiral unitary approach and takes into account the external and internal $W$-emission mechanisms at the quark level. Only considering three resonances contributions, the $f_0(980)$ in $S$-wave, the $\bar {K}^{*}(892)^{0}$ and $\phi(1020)$ in $P$-wave, one can make a good description of the recent experimental data from BESIII Collaboration, where the contribution from $S$-wave is found to be small. 30. Study of pion vector form factor and its contribution to the muon $(g-2)$

Abstract: In the present work, we investigate several theoretical models of the pion vector form factor and aim at getting the best fit for the two-pion cross sections to reduce the uncertainties of the calculation of two-pion contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment. Combined with a polynomial description to the pion vector form factor, we obtain the best fit from the Gounaris-Sakurai (or K\"uhn-Santamaria) model for the experimental data up to 1 GeV. By product, the branching ratio of $\omega \to \pi\pi$ can be extracted as $\text{Br}(\omega\to\pi\pi)=(1.52\pm 0.06) \%$, which is consistent with the one of Particle Data Group. With the best fit of the data, we obtain the muon anomalous magnetic moment from two-pion contribution as $a_{\mu}^{\mathrm{HVP,\; LO}}(\pi^{+} \pi^{-} \leq 1\ \text{GeV}) = (497.76\pm3.15) \times 10^{-10}$. 31. Multi-dimensional Vlasov simulations on trapping-induced sidebands of Langmuir waves

Abstract: Temporal evolution of Langmuir waves is presented with two-dimensional electrostatic Vlasov simulations. In a mutiwavelength system, trapped electrons can generate sidebands including longitudinal, transverse and oblique sidebands. We demonstrated that oblique sidebands are important decay channels of Langmuir waves, and the growth rate of oblique sideband is smaller than the longitudinal sideband but higher than the transverse sideband. Bump-on-tailtype distribution function is formed because of the growth of sidebands, leading to a nonlinear growth of sidebands. When the amplitudes of sidebands are comparable with that of Langmuir wave, vortex merging occurs following the broadening of longitudinal and transverse wavenumbers, and finally the system is developed into a turbulent state. In addition, the growth of sidebands can be depicted by the nonlinear Schr\"odinger model (Dewar-Rose-Yin (DRY) model) with non-Maxwellian Landau dampings. It shows the significance of particle-trapping induced nonlinear frequency shift in the evolution and qualitative agreement with Vlasov simulations

32. Is two-poles' $\Lambda(1405)$ one state or two?

Abstract: To understand the nature of two poles for the $\Lambda(1405)$ state, we revisit the interactions of $\bar{K}N$ and $\pi\Sigma$ with their coupled channels, where two-poles structure is found in the second Riemann sheet. We also dynamically generate two poles in the single channel interaction of $\bar{K}N$ and $\pi\Sigma$, respectively. Moreover, we make a further study of two poles' properties by evaluating the couplings, the compositeness, the wave functions, and the radii for the interactions of four coupled channels, two coupled channels and the single channel. Our results show that the nature of two poles is unique. The higher-mass pole is a pure $\bar{K} N$ molecule, and the lower-mass one is a compositeness of mainly $\pi \Sigma$ with tiny component $\bar{K} N$. From our results, one can conclude that the $\Lambda(1405)$ state would be overlapped with two different states of the same quantum number., Comment: Some tiny corrections have been made. 33. Particle beam eigen-emittances, phase integral, vorticity, and rotations

Abstract: Particle beam eigen-emittances comprise the lowest set of rms-emittances that can be imposed to a beam through symplectic optical elements. For cases of practical relevance this paper introduces an approximation providing a very simple and powerful relation between transverse eigen-emittance variation and the beam phase integral. This relation enormously facilitates modeling eigen-emittance tailoring scenarios. It reveals that difference of eigen-emittances is given by the beam phase integral or vorticity rather than by angular momentum. Within the approximation any beam is equivalent to two objects rotating at angular velocities of same strength and different sign. A description through circular beam modes has been done already in [A. Burov, S. Nagaitsev, and Y. Derbenev, Circular modes, beam adapters, and their applications in beam optics, Phys. Rev. E 66, 016503 (2002)]. 34. Optical properties of elongated conducting grains

Abstract: Extremely elongated, conducting dust particles (also known as metallic "needles" or "whiskers") are seen in carbonaceous chondrites and in samples brought back from the Itokawa asteroid. Their formation in protostellar nebulae and subsequent injection into the interstellar medium have been demonstrated, both experimentally and theoretically. Metallic needles have been suggested to explain a wide variety of astrophysical phenomena, ranging from the mid-infrared interstellar extinction at ~3--8 micron to the thermalization of starlight to generate the cosmic microwave background. To validate (or invalidate) these suggestions, an accurate knowledge of the optics (e.g., the amplitude and the wavelength dependence of the absorption cross sections) of metallic needles is crucial. Here we calculate the absorption cross sections of iron needles of various aspect ratios over a wide wavelength range, by exploiting the discrete dipole approximation, the most powerful technique for rigorously calculating the optics of irregular or nonspherical grains. 35. Molecular nature of $P_{cs} (4459)$ and its heavy quark spin partners

Abstract: Inspired by the observation of the $P_{cs} (4459)$ state by LHCb recently, we reexamine the results of the interaction of the $J/\psi \Lambda$ channel with its coupled channels, exploiting the coupled channel unitary approach combined with heavy quark spin and local hidden gauge symmetries. By tuning the only free parameter, we find a pole of $(4459.07+i6.89)$ MeV below the $\bar D^* \Xi_c$ threshold, which was consistent well with the mass and width of the $P_{cs} (4459)$ state. Thus, we assume the $P_{cs} (4459)$ state to be a $\bar D^* \Xi_c$ bound state with the uncertainties on its degeneracy with $J^P = \frac{1}{2}^-$ and $J^P = \frac{3}{2}^-$. For the degeneracy, it would have two-poles structure, like $P_c (4450)$ before. There is another pole in the $J^P = \frac{1}{2}^-$ sector, $(4310.53+i8.23)$ MeV, corresponding to a deep bound state of $\bar D \Xi_c$. Furthermore, the previously predicted loose bound states of $\bar D \Xi'_c$, $\bar D^* \Xi'_c$, $\bar D^* \Xi^*_c$ with $J=1/2,~I=0$ and $\bar D^* \Xi'_c$, $\bar D \Xi^*_c$, $\bar D^* \Xi_c^*$ with $J=3/2,~I=0$ may exist as either bound states or unbound virtual states. Abstract: Over the modern satellite era, substantial climatic changes have been observed in the Antarctic, including atmospheric and oceanic warming, ice sheet thinning and a general Antarctic-wide expansion of sea ice, followed by a more recent rapid loss. Although these changes, featuring strong zonal asymmetry, are partially influenced by increasing greenhouse gas emissions and stratospheric ozone depletion, tropical–polar teleconnections are believed to have a role through Rossby wave dynamics. In this Review, we synthesize understanding of tropical teleconnections to the Southern Hemisphere extratropics arising from the El Niño–Southern Oscillation, Interdecadal Pacific Oscillation and Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation, focusing on the mechanisms and long-term climatic impacts. These teleconnections have contributed to observed Antarctic and Southern Ocean changes, including regional rapid surface warming, pre-2015 sea ice expansion and its sudden reduction thereafter, changes in ocean heat content and accelerated thinning of most of the Antarctic ice sheet. However, due to limited observations and inherent model biases, uncertainties remain in understanding and assessing the importance of these teleconnections versus those arising from greenhouse gases, ozone recovery and internal variability. Sustained pan-Antarctic efforts towards long-term observations, and more realistic dynamics and parameterizations in high-resolution climate models, offer opportunities to reduce these uncertainties.

Demographic characteristics and laboratory test results of RA patients were collected and analyzed, such as age, sex, anti-mutated citrullinated vimentin antibody (Anti-MCV), serum complements (C3, C4), immunoglobulins (IgA, IgG, IgM), hemoglobin (Hb), platelets (PLT) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), etc. Spearman correlation was served as assessing the correlations of the levels of serum C3 and C4 with each index. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were served as assessing the diagnostic efficacy of each index for RA patients with HC. Furthermore, risk factors for the occurrence of HC in RA patients were analyzed by employing binary logistic regression of single and multiple factors.Results: Compared RA patients with HC to without HC, the former were older and had a longer disease duration with increased levels of Anti-MCV, IgM and DAS28 and lower levels of Hb, PLT and ESR; Spearman correlation analysis verified the level of serum Anti-MCV was a negative correlation with C3 (r=− 0.156); the area under the ROC curve (AUC) of PLT in diagnosing RA patients with HC was the largest at 0.65 (95% CI: 0.60– 0.69); binary logistic regression analysis indicated that advanced age (> 66 years), long disease duration (> 62 months), high DAS28 value (> 6.13), the levels of Anti-MCV> 107.68IU/mL, IgM> 1.54g/L, ESR≤ 69.00mm/h, Hb≤ 99.00g/L and PLT≤ 305.00× 109/L were probable risk factors for the occurrence of HC in RA patients.Conclusion: Age and disease duration, DAS28, Anti-MCV, IgM, ESR, Hb, and PLT are closely related to the development of HC in RA patients. Patients’ demographics, pain-related variables, TMD-related variables, and PPTs of both left and right temporomandibular joints (TMJs), masseter, and temporalis were collected.Results: Pain duration and visual analog scale of pain (VAS) showed no significant correlations with PPTs (P> 0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis revealed a significant positive association of PPTs of all six sites with males (β=0.41– 0.72 kg·cm− 2, 95% CI (0.19– 0.38, 0.74– 0.99), P< 0.001), as well as with the high age group [β=0.28– 0.36 kg·cm− 2, 95% CI (0.07– 0.20, 0.47– 0.53), P< 0.020]. Furthermore, PPTs of the left TMJ showed a significant negative association with left pain-related TMD (PT) [β=− 0.21 kg·cm− 2, 95% CI (− 0.38, − 0.04), P=0.026], but PPTs of the remaining sites did not show a significant association with PT (P> 0.05). Stratified analysis showed that PPTs in females were associated with the high age group [β=0.25– 0.37 kg·cm− 2, 95% CI (0.04– 0.20, 0.45– 0.56), P< 0.020] and that PPT of the left TMJ was associated with left PT [β=− 0.21 kg·cm− 2, 95% CI (− 0.39, − 0.03), P=0.043]. The remaining PPTs did not show a significant association with PT (P> 0.05). In males, PPTs did not show significant correlations with age, PT and VAS (P> 0.05).Conclusion: PPTs in the orofacial region are associated with gender and age in TMD patients. Pain duration and intensity show no significant correlations with PPTs in TMD patients. 40. Study $B^{0}_{(s)}$ decays into $\phi$ and a scalar or vector meson

Abstract: In the present work, we investigate the decays of $B^{0}_{s} \rightarrow \phi\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ and $B^{0} \rightarrow \phi\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ with the final state interactions based on the chiral unitary approach. In the final state interactions of the $\pi^+\pi^-$ with its coupled channels, we study the effects of the $\eta\eta$ channel in the two-body interactions for the reproduction of the $f_{0}(980)$ state. Our results for the $\pi^+\pi^-$ invariant mass distributions of the decay $B^{0}_{s} \rightarrow \phi\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ describe the experimental data up to 1 GeV well, with the resonance contributions from the $f_{0}(980)$ and $\rho$. For the predicted invariant mass distributions of the $B^{0} \rightarrow \phi\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ decay, we found that the contributions from the $f_{0}(500)$ are significant except for the ones from the $f_{0}(980)$ state. With some experimental branching ratios as input to determine the production vertex factors, we make some predictions for the branching ratios of the other final decay channels, including the vector mesons, in the $B^0_{(s)}$ decays, where some of them are consistent with the experimental ones within the uncertainties., Comment: More comments are added

41. Influences of sinusoidal density modulation on stimulated Raman scattering in inhomogeneous plasmas

Abstract: The influence of sinusoidal density modulation on the stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) reflectivity in inhomogeneous plasmas is studied by three-wave coupling equations, fully kinetic Vlasov simulations and particle in cell (PIC) simulations. Through the numerical solution of three-wave coupling equations, we find that the sinusoidal density modulation is capable of inducing absolute SRS even though the Rosenbluth gain is smaller than {\pi}, and we give a region of modulational wavelength and amplitude that the absolute SRS can be induced, which agrees with early studies. The average reflectivity obtained by Vlasov simulations has the same trend with the growth rate of absolute SRS obtained by three-wave equations. Instead of causing absolute instability, modulational wavelength shorter than a basic gain length is able to suppress the inflation of SRS through harmonic waves. And, the PIC simulations qualitatively agree with our Vlasov simulations. Our results offer an alternative explanation of high reflectivity at underdense plasma in experiments, which is due to long-wavelength modulation, and a potential method to suppress SRS by using the short-wavelength modulation.

42. On the Absorption Properties of Metallic Needles

Abstract: Needle-like metallic particles have been suggested to explain a wide variety of astrophysical phenomena, ranging from the mid-infrared interstellar extinction to the thermalization of starlight to generate the cosmic microwave background. These suggestions rely on the amplitude and the wavelength dependence of the absorption cross sections of metallic needles. On the absence of an exact solution to the absorption properties of metallic needles, their absorption cross sections are often derived from the antenna approximation. However, it is shown here that the antenna approximation is not an appropriate representation since it violates the Kramers-Kronig relation. Stimulated by the recent discovery of iron whiskers in asteroid Itokawa and graphite whiskers in carbonaceous chondrites, we call for rigorous calculations of the absorption cross sections of metallic needle-like particles, presumably with the discrete dipole approximation. 44. How to reveal the nature of three or more pentaquark states?

Abstract: Within the chiral unitary approach and with the constraints of heavy quark spin symmetry, we study the coupled channel interactions of ${\bar D}^{(*)}\Sigma_c^{(*)}$ channels, close to whose thresholds three pentaquark-like $P_c$ states have been reported by the LHCb Collaboration. In the present work, we take into account the contributions of pion exchanges via box diagrams to the interaction potentials, and therefore lift the degeneracy in the masses of ${\bar D}^*\Sigma_c^{(*)}$ spin multiplets. Fitting the $J/\psi p$ invariant mass distributions in the $\Lambda_b^0 \to J/\psi K^- p$ decay, we find that the LHCb pentaquark states can not be reproduced in the direct $J/\psi p$ production in the $\Lambda_b^0$ decay, and can only be indirectly produced in the final state interactions of the $\Lambda_b^0$ decay products, ${\bar D}^*\Sigma_c^{(*)}$, which further supports the nature of these states as $\bar{D}\Sigma_c$ molecules. Based on the fit results obtained, we study the partial decay widths/branching ratios to other decay channels, $\bar{D}^* \Lambda_c$, $\bar{D} \Lambda_c$, and $\eta_c N$, and the corresponding invariant mass distributions. The resonances with $J^P=\frac{1}{2}^-$, $P_c(4312)$, $P_c(4440)$ and the one of $\bar{D}^* \Sigma_c^*$ around 4500 MeV, have large partial decay width into $\eta_c N$, and thus, can be easily seen in the $\eta_c N$ invariant mass distributions. By contrast, the states with $J^P=\frac{3}{2}^-$, $P_c(4457)$, the (predicted) narrow $P_c(4380)$ and the bound state of $\bar{D}^* \Sigma_c^*$ with a mass of about 4520 MeV, do not decay into $\eta_c N$. Therefore, the $\eta_c N$ channel should be studied in future to provide further insights into the nature of these states, especially that of the $P_c(4440)$ and $P_c(4457)$., Comment: Updated with more comments, and welcome to comment

Abstract: We investigate the decay properties of some beauty and charm mesons with a phenomenological potential model. First, we consider the nonrelativistic Hamiltonian of the mesonic system with Coulomb plus exponential terms and study the wave function and the energy of the system using the variational approach. Thereby, we compute the masses, the decay constants, the leptonic branching fractions of heavy-light mesons and the mixing mass parameter $\Delta {m_{{B_q}}}$. We study the radiative leptonic decay widths of ${D_s} \to \gamma \ell \bar \nu $, ${D^ - } \to \gamma \ell \bar \nu $ and the semileptonic decay widths of ${\bar B_{(s)}} \to {D_{(s)}}\ell \bar \nu $, ${\bar B_{(s)}} \to D_{(s)}^*\ell \bar \nu $. Using Isgur-Wise functions, we calculate the branching ratios of $B \to {D^{(*)}}\pi $ and two-body nonleptonic decay of $D \to K\pi $. Our results are consistent with other theoretical models and the experimental results.

46. Refining the evaluation of eigen-emittances measured by the dedicated four-dimensional emittance scanner ROSE

Abstract: A dedicated device to fully determine the four-dimensional beam matrix, called ROSE (ROtating System for Emittance measurements) was successfully commissioned. Results obtained with 83Kr13+ at 1.4 MeV/u are reported in Phys. Rev. Accel. Beams 19, 072802 (2016). Coupled moments were determined with an accuracy of about 10%, which is sufficiently low to reliably determine a lattice which could decouple the beam. However, the remaining uncertainty on the corresponding eigen emittances was still considerable high. The present paper reports on improvement of the evaluation procedure which lowers the inaccuracy of measured eigen emittances significantly to the percent level. The method is based on trimming directly measured data within their intrinsic measurement resolution such that the finally resulting quantity is determined with high precision.

48. Study the molecular nature of $\sigma$, $f_{0}(980)$, and $a_{0}(980)$ states

Abstract: We investigate the characteristics of $\sigma$, $f_{0}(980)$, and $a_{0}(980)$ with the formalism of chiral unitary approach. With the dynamical generation of them, we make a further study of their properties by evaluating the couplings, the compositeness, the wave functions and the radii. We also research their properties in the single channel interactions, where the $a_{0}(980)$ can not be reproduced in the $K\bar{K}$ interactions with isospin $I=1$ since the potential is too weak. In our results, the states of $\sigma$ and $f_{0}(980)$ can be dynamically reproduced stably with varying cutoffs both in the coupled channel and the single channel cases. We find that the $\pi\eta$ components is much important in the coupled channel interactions to dynamically reproduce the $a_{0}(980)$ state, which means that $a_{0}(980)$ state can not be a pure $K\bar{K}$ molecular state. We obtain their radii as: $|\langle r^2 \rangle|_{f_0(980)} = 1.80 \pm 0.35$ fm, $|\langle r^2 \rangle|_{\sigma} = 0.68 \pm 0.05$ fm and $|\langle r^2 \rangle|_{a_0(980)} = 0.94 \pm 0.09$ fm. Based on our investigation results, we conclude that the $f_{0}(980)$ state is mainly a $K\bar{K}$ bound state, the $\sigma$ state a resonance of $\pi\pi$ and the $a_{0}(980)$ state a loose $K\bar{K}$ bound state.
