Abstract Medical care is a guarantee of people's daily life. Improving healthcare contributes to people's well-being. However, healthcare resources are characterized by uneven distribution. Financially well-off areas will have higher quality health care resources. Most of the medical resources are concentrated in public general hospitals, however, primary care institutions can hardly meet the growing needs of people. To solve this problem, Medical Union achieves efficient deployment of resources by integrating various medical institutions in the same area. In the process of logistics integration of the medical union, the scale of logistics distribution expands accordingly. Transportation vehicles have high operating costs and produce greenhouse gases in the process of distribution. The optimization of the driving path of logistics distribution vehicles can reduce the operating cost, fuel consumption and carbon emission. To solve this kind of decentralized and complex vehicle routing problem, this paper proposes a pollution routing problem model considering electrical vehicle usage, customer's soft time window expectation, open path and carbon cost. A modified Differential Search Algorithm with the comprehensive learning strategy and dynamic Cauchy variation strategy is advanced to solve the problem. Results show that the improved algorithm has good solving performance, and verifies the rationality of the proposed model, which will help to reduce carbon emissions and save the logistics and operating costs of medical devices.

This paper aims to propose an improved learning algorithm for feature selection, termed as binary superior tracking artificial bee colony with dynamic Cauchy mutation (BSTABC-DCM). To enhance exploitation capacity, a binary learning strategy is proposed to enable each bee to learn from the superior individuals in each dimension. A dynamic Cauchy mutation is introduced to diversify the population distribution. Ten datasets from UCI repository are adopted as test problems, and the average results of cross-validation of BSTABC-DCM are compared with other seven popular swarm intelligence metaheuristics. Experimental results demonstrate that BSTABC-DCM could obtain the optimal classification accuracy and select the best representative features for the UCI problems.

The continued growth in life sciences is being accompanied by the constantly rising demand for robotic systems. Today, bioscreening and high–throughput screening processes are well automated. In contrast, a deficit can be found in the area of analytical measurements with complex and frequently changing processes. Robots undertake not only transportation tasks, but also direct sample manipulation and subsequent analytical measurements. Due to their human-like structure, dual-arm robots perform such processes similar to human operation. Liquid handling is required to transfer chemicals, to prepare standard solutions, or to dilute samples. Two electronic pipettes with different volume ranges (5–200 µL and 50–1000 µL) were integrated into a dual–arm robotic system. The main focus in this publication is the software interface for alternating robot and pipette control as well as the high–level process control system. The performance using a dual–arm robot equipped with electronic pipettes and conventional manual pipettes was determined and compared. The automation system presented is the first integration of a dual-arm robot in analytical measurement processes. Conventional manual laboratory pipettes and electronic pipettes are simultaneously used for liquid-handling tasks. The software control system enables a flexible and user-friendly process generation.
