Mitochondria-targeted fluorescent organic nanoparticles (TYDLs) with a low detection limit (75 nM) were reported for the ratiometric detection of SO2/HSO3−in vitro and in vivo.

Two kinds of AIE-active fluorescent organic nanoparticles were designed and constructed as anti-counterfeiting photoresponsive materials. One is fluorescent organic nanoparticles (TPELs) based on a self-assembly strategy, which were self-assembled from novel amphiphilic tetraphenylethylene (TPE) molecules decorated with a lactose moiety and different photoresponsive tags. The other is polymeric fluorescent organic nanoparticles (F-TPEs) derived from the nanoprecipitation strategy, which utilized pluronic copolymer F127 to encapsulate hydrophobic TPEs without lactosyl modifications. Upon UV light irradiation, these AIE-active materials exhibit different photooxidation behaviors in an aqueous solution to give cyan, orange and green fluorescence emissions, and they were successfully used as an anti-counterfeiting fluorescent hydrogel and ink.

e15543 Background: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of different treatment modalities of regorafenib in patients with previously treated metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) in the real-world setting. Methods: Individual patient data were retrieved from three leading oncology centers in China from January 2016 to March 2021. The primary endpoint was progression-free survival (PFS), and secondary endpoints were overall survival (OS) and safety. Results: The characteristics of patients who received treatment are shown in the table. Twenty-one patients received regorafenib combined with capecitabine as the second-line treatment for those who cannot visit hospital for their chemotherapies because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The median PFS and median OS were 8 (95% CI 4.36 - 11.00) months and 26.9 (95%CI 20.54 -NR) months. 101 patients received regorafenib and 69 patients received regorafenib plus immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICIs) as third or higher line treatment, the overall response was 4.1%(7/170), including one complete response. Patients combined with ICIs have longer PFS than those with regorafenib monotherapy (median PFS = 3.3 versus 2.1 months; p = 0.01). Starting dose was 80、120 and 160 mg in 64、40 and 39 patients, respectively. Dose reduction was observed in 43.3% (39/79) of patients receiving 120 and 160 mg as the initial dose. Conclusions: Different treatment modalities of regorafenib all showed promising efficacy and safety in the treatment of mCRC. Regorafenib combination is better than regorafenib monotherapy. Regorafenib combined with capecitabine provided a new treatment strategy during the epidemic but requires further investigation. Electron temperature and electron number density are important parameters in the characterization of plasma. In this paper the electron temperature and electron number density of soil plasma generated by laser ablation combined with nanosecond discharge spark at different discharge voltages have been studied. Saha-Boltzmann plot and Stark broadening are used to determine the temperature and electron number density. It is proved that local thermal equilibrium is fulfilled in the nanosecond spark enhanced plasma. The enhanced optical emission, signal to noise ratio and the stability in term of the relative standard deviation of signal intensity at different spark voltages were investigated in detail. A relative stable discharge process was observed with use of a 10 kV discharge voltage under the carried experimental configuration.

A developing technique, laser ablation and fast pulse discharge plasma spectroscopy technique (LA-FPDPS), was used for the first time to analyze the Sn concentration in soil. The peak intensity of Sn (284.0 nm) line from soil plasma emission was greatly enhanced in comparison with using the traditional single pulse (SP) LIBS system. Using the technique, calibration curve of Sn in soil was derived. The limit of detection (LOD) for Sn in soil was reduced to be 0.16 microg x g(-1). The value is significantly improved compared with the results reported in literature when using LIBS technique, which usually was between 8.2 to 54 microg x g(-1) depending on the experimental condition, indicating that this technique possibly will be useful for rapid quantitative elemental analysis in soil.
