Abstract

This paper presents a green manufacturing-recycling network design approach for multi-echelon electronic assembly process under a complex product mix scenario which incorporates trade-off between economic cost and heavy metal pollutants. The approach is developed by formulating the green manufacturing-recycling network into a closed-loop logistics bi-objective optimisation model, in order to alleviate negative environmental influence by applying proper cleaner production technologies. The environmental influence is quantified by pollution equivalent numbers which are integrated in the model. Moreover, the volume of the heavy metal pollutants is optimised by selecting the cleaner production level and thus is jointly coordinated with the operation cost. To solve the bi-objective optimisation model, an enhanced global criterion approach is presented to improve the effectiveness on dealing with non-convexity of the Pareto-optimal frontier with computational efficient solutions. The proposed model is implemented on a case study to verify its flexibility to handle the closed-loop manufacturing-recycling network design of different sizes, as well as to obtain trade-off between operation cost and environmental influence by the heavy metal pollutants under various scenarios. 13. Study on properties and pore structure characteristics of cement-based materials with limestone powder

Abstract

In order to study the effect of limestone powder as an auxiliary cementing material replacing part of cement on the properties and pore structure of cement mortar, the working performance, mechanical properties and pore structure characteristics of cement mortar with 0%, 10%, 20% and 40% substitutions of limestone powder were tested. The experimental results show that with the increase of the amount of limestone powder, the fluidity of mortar increases continuously and the water retention also becomes better. The addition of limestone powder improves the workability of mortar, but with the increase of limestone powder, the compressive strength of mortar decreases continuously. The results of low field NMR show that the porosity of cement mortar increases firstly and then decreases with the increase of limestone powder content. Compared with the reference mortar, its porosity is improved to some extent, however the pore throat distribution indicates that the increase of porosity is caused by the increase of small pores between 0.01μm and 0.16μm. The harmful macropores between 0.16μm and 0.63μm in mortar are reduced, which indicate that the addition of limestone powder can effectively improve the pore diameter distribution of mortar.

Abstract

Automatic control points detection and localization is the precondition to realize camera calibration without manual aids. A novel corner detection and localization strategy is proposed in this paper, which can automatically detect and locate the corners in a chessboard pattern. A Hessian matrix detector with self-adaptive threshold is proposed to obtain the initial corners without supplied information of rows and columns number. Then symmetry constraint and a statistic technique are used to eliminate the blobs and resist the tanglesome background successfully. The whole pattern localization, which greatly reduces the computation load, is obtained by a homography method based on four automatically identified extremum corners. The proposed method has few restrictions on the chessboard image due to the above techniques. The comparison results with other traditional methods demonstrate the predominance of the proposed method, as a valuable tool for camera calibration.

Abstract

Skeletal muscle exhibiting complex and excellent precision has evolved for millions of years. Skeletal muscle has better performance and simpler structure compared with existing driving modes. Artificial muscle may be designed by analyzing and imitating properties and structure of skeletal muscle based on bionics, which has been focused on by bionic researchers, and a structure mode of linear electromagnetic array artificial muscle has been designed in this paper. Half sarcomere is the minimum unit of artificial muscle and electromagnetic model has been built. The structural parameters of artificial half sarcomere actuator were optimized to achieve better movement performance. Experimental results show that artificial half sarcomere actuator possesses great motion performance such as high response speed, great acceleration, small weight and size, robustness, etc., which presents a promising application prospect of artificial half sarcomere actuator.
