Background: Realgar, a traditional Chinese medicine, has shown antitumor efficacy in several tumor types. We previously showed that realgar nanoparticles (nano-realgar) had significant antileukemia, anti-lung cancer and anti-liver cancer effects. In addition, the anti-tumor effects of nanorealgar were significantly better than those of ordinary realgar. Objective: To explore the inhibitory effects and molecular mechanisms of nano-realgar on the migration, invasion and metastasis of mouse breast cancer cells. Methods: Wound-healing migration assays and Transwell invasion assays were carried out to determine the effects of nano-realgar on breast cancer cell (4T1) migration and invasion. The expression levels of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2 and -9 were measured by Western blot. A murine breast cancer metastasis model was established, administered nano-realgar for 32 days and monitored for tumor growth and metastasis by an in vivo optical imaging system. Finally, living imaging and hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining were used to measure the morphology and pathology of lung and liver cancer cell metastases, respectively. Angiogenesis was assessed by CD34 immunohistochemistry. Results: Nano-realgar significantly inhibited the migration and invasion of breast cancer 4T1 cells and the expression of MMP-2 and -9. Meanwhile, nano-realgar effectively suppressed the abilities of tumor growth, metastasis and angiogenesis in the murine breast cancer metastasis model in a time- and dosedependent manner. Conclusion: Nano-realgar significantly inhibited migration and invasion of mouse breast cancer cells in vitro as well as pulmonary and hepatic metastasis in vivo, which may be closely correlated with the downexpression of MMP-2 and -9 and suppression of tumor neovascularization.

The human gut microbiota varies considerably among world populations due to a variety of factors including genetic background, diet, cultural habits and socioeconomic status. Here we characterized 110 healthy Mongolian adults gut microbiota by shotgun metagenomic sequencing and compared the intestinal microbiome among Mongolians, the Hans and European cohorts. The results showed that the taxonomic profile of intestinal microbiome among cohorts revealed the Actinobaceria and Bifidobacterium were the key microbes contributing to the differences among Mongolians, the Hans and Europeans at the phylum level and genus level, respectively. Metagenomic species analysis indicated that Faecalibacterium prausnitzii and Coprococcus comeswere enrich in Mongolian people which might contribute to gut health through anti-inflammatory properties and butyrate production, respectively. On the other hand, the enriched genus Collinsella, biomarker in symptomatic atherosclerosis patients, might be associated with the high morbidity of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in Mongolian adults. At the functional level, a unique microbial metabolic pathway profile was present in Mongolian's gut which mainly distributed in amino acid metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, energy metabolism, lipid metabolism, glycan biosynthesis and metabolism. We can attribute the specific signatures of Mongolian gut microbiome to their unique genotype, dietary habits and living environment.

Total 26 modern soil samples were collected from various regions under different climate conditions from tropical to arid temperate in China and systematically analyzed for their organic matters by GC/MS in order to evaluate climatic impacts on soil organic components. Abundant lipids molecules were recognized, including n-alkanes, n-alkenones, and long-chain branched alkanes. We find the predominance of main peaks of long-chain n-alkanes (nC29, nC31, nC33) and short-chain ones (nC16, nC17, nC18) records information of soil generation in warm-humid and cold-dry regions. The proportion of n-alkanes (nC16+nC17+nC18) to (nC29+nC31+nC33) varies in good agreement with moisture-heat conditions and thus probably can serve as a new index for climate change. The ratios of C21−/nC22+, nC17/nC31 and (nC15+nC17+nC19) / (nC27 + nC29 + nC31) of n-alkanes, indicating respectively input ratios of lower bacterial alga, aquatic organisms, and higher plants and terraneous organisms, co-vary well in different climate regions from forest to grassland and desert, suggesting that they have also reflected the difference of climates between monsoon region and inland one. The C21−/C22+ ratio of n-alkan-2-one records largely the discrepancy of temperature from north to south of China bordered by the Qinling Mountains, but less humidity. The C21−/C22+ ratio of n-alkan-3-ones changes well with climatic factors, such as temperature and humidity. The biogenic source of series A-D long-chain branched alkanes may be derived from some kinds of special epiphyte that most likely live in weak oxic-anoxic and moisture-heat environments, suggesting their distribution record as well some information on climatic change. All these researches demonstrate that the distributions of lipids molecules in modern soils in China record well signals of climates from quite different climatic regions, and can serve as important climatic proxies to reveal climatic change over China.

According to the research of teaching reform on engineering survey practice in agricultural university, this paper proposes two ways to improve teaching quality. On one side, teachers need to improve teaching ability especially in accumulating experience, education theory and information quality. On the other side, we reform teaching method in students' evaluation. We emphasize students' self-learning effect and make evaluation before class. Through these teaching practices, these reforms are effective in improving teaching quality and students' social adaptability.
