Search

Observation of high energy and very high emission from Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs) is crucial to study the gigantic explosion and the underline processes. With a large field-of-view and almost full duty cycle, the Water Cherenkov Detector Array (WCDA), a sub-array of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO), is appropriate to monitor the very high energy emission from unpredictable transients such as GRBs. Nevertheless, the main issue for an extensive air shower array is the high energy threshold which limits the horizon of the detector. To address this issue a new trigger method is developed in this article to lower the energy threshold of WCDA for GRB observation. The proposed method significantly improves the detection efficiency of WCDA for gamma-rays around the GRB direction at 10-300 GeV. The sensitivity of the WCDA for GRB detection with the new trigger method is estimated. The achieved sensitivity of the quarter WCDA array above 10 GeV is comparable with that of Fermi-LAT. The data analysis process and corresponding fluence upper limit for GRB 190719C is presented as an example.

The main scientific goal of LHAASO-WCDA is to survey gamma-ray sources with energy from 100 GeV to 30 TeV. To observe high-energy shower events, especially to measure the energy spectrum of cosmic rays from 100 TeV to 10 PeV, a dynamic range extension system (WCDA++) is designed to use a 1.5-inch PMT with a dynamic range of four orders of magnitude for each cell in WCDA-1. The dynamic range is extended by using these PMTs to measure the effective charge density in the core region of air shower events, which is an important parameter for identifying the composition of primary particles. The system has been running for more than one year. In this paper, the details of the design and performance of WCDA++ are presented.

The kilometer square array (KM2A) of the large high altitude air shower observatory (LHAASO) aims at surveying the northern γ-ray sky at energies above 10 TeV with unprecedented sensitivity. γ-ray observations have long been one of the most powerful tools for dark matter searches, as, e.g., high-energy γ rays could be produced by the decays of heavy dark matter particles. In this Letter, we present the first dark matter analysis with LHAASO-KM2A, using the first 340 days of data from 1/2-KM2A and 230 days of data from 3/4-KM2A. Several regions of interest are used to search for a signal and account for the residual cosmic-ray background after γ/hadron separation. We find no excess of dark matter signals, and thus place some of the strongest γ-ray constraints on the lifetime of heavy dark matter particles with mass between 105 and 109 GeV. Our results with LHAASO are robust, and have important implications for dark matter interpretations of the diffuse astrophysical high-energy neutrino emission.

The superconducting undulator (SCU) is a trend to be applied for future light sources to obtain the higher light brilliance. A planar SCU prototype with a period of 16 mm, a magnetic gap of 9.5 mm and 50-periods magnet has been under development at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) since late 2013. The key technologies including magnet cooling, coil winding, low-temperature alignment of magnet and beam tube, and cryogenic magnetic field measurement have been investigated. A cryocooler-cooled test cryostat was developed for the purpose of both experimentally studying the key technologies and testing the performance of the SCU prototype. Two-stage cryocoolers were applied for cool down, helium liquefaction and keeping the SCU cooled at operation. The SCU magnet and the UHV beam tube were cooled separately. The magnet working at 4.2 K is cooled by thermosiphon-driven liquid helium flowing through the piping in the magnet mandrel. The beam tube, thermal shields and binary leads were conduction-cooled. The beam tube will work at between 4.2 K and 20 K up to dynamic loads generated by the SSRF beam. A set of improved self-centered support assembly for the magnet was developed in order to avoid the complex alignment at low temperature and lower down the machining cost. A cooling approach to effectively cool the junction of the binary lead made of copper and HTS lead commonly used in cryocooler-cooled superconducting systems was adopted and validated. The cryostat was successfully debugged and run at the early of 2016. This paper describes the design details of the cryostat including new approaches to cool the SCU and the binary leads, its fabrication and test results.

The mortality of female breast cancer in Shandong Province has increased since the 1970. The differential decomposition analysis found that the slight decline in the crude mortality of breast cancer among women was entirely due to non-demographic factors during the 1970-1990, and the significant increase in the crude mortality was due to a combination of demographic and non-demographic factors since the 1990. The contribution rate of demographic factor has gradually increased from 53.5% in 2004-2005 to 59.5% in 2011-2013, while that of non-demographic factor has decreased from 46.5% to 40.5%. The women aged 45-64 years old were the major population of female breast cancer deaths, accounting for 40%-60% of total breast cancer deaths in different times, and then the mortality in female aged 55-64 years old increased rapidly, with increases of 52.12%, 115.19% and 29.01% in 2011-2013 over the 1970-1974, 1990-1992 and 2004-2005, respectively (1970年以来，山东省女性乳腺癌死亡率总体呈上升趋势。差别分解分析发现，1970—1990年代女性乳腺癌粗死亡率的微弱下降全部为非人口因素所致，1990年以后死亡率大幅上升为人口和非人口因素的共同作用，其中人口因素的贡献率逐渐上升，由2004—2005年的53.5%上升到了2011—2013年的59.5%，非人口因素的贡献率有所下降，由46.5%降到了40.5%。45~64岁是女性乳腺癌死亡的主要年龄段，占不同时期乳腺癌总死亡的40%~60%；其中55~64岁年龄组死亡率增长迅速，2011—2013年分别比1970—1974年、1990—1992年和2004—2005年上升了52.12%、115.19%和29.01%（

The extension of the cosmic-ray spectrum beyond 1 petaelectronvolt (PeV; 1015 electronvolts) indicates the existence of the so-called PeVatrons—cosmic-ray factories that accelerate particles to PeV energies. We need to locate and identify such objects to find the origin of Galactic cosmic rays1. The principal signature of both electron and proton PeVatrons is ultrahigh-energy (exceeding 100 TeV) γ radiation. Evidence of the presence of a proton PeVatron has been found in the Galactic Centre, according to the detection of a hard-spectrum radiation extending to 0.04 PeV (ref. 2). Although γ-rays with energies slightly higher than 0.1 PeV have been reported from a few objects in the Galactic plane3–6, unbiased identification and in-depth exploration of PeVatrons requires detection of γ-rays with energies well above 0.1 PeV. Here we report the detection of more than 530 photons at energies above 100 teraelectronvolts and up to 1.4 PeV from 12 ultrahigh-energy γ-ray sources with a statistical significance greater than seven standard deviations. Despite having several potential counterparts in their proximity, including pulsar wind nebulae, supernova remnants and star-forming regions, the PeVatrons responsible for the ultrahigh-energy γ-rays have not yet been firmly localized and identified (except for the Crab Nebula), leaving open the origin of these extreme accelerators. Observations of γ-rays with energies up to 1.4 PeV find that 12 sources in the Galaxy are PeVatrons, one of which is the Crab Nebula.

We report the discovery of a new unidentified extended $\gamma$-ray source in the Galactic plane named LHAASO J0341+5258 with a pre-trial significance of 8.2 standard deviations above 25 TeV. The best fit position is R.A.$=55.34^{\circ}\pm0.11^{\circ}$ and Dec$=52.97^{\circ}\pm0.07^{\circ}$. The angular size of LHAASO J0341+5258 is $0.29^\circ \pm 0.06^\circ_{stat} \pm0.02^\circ_{sys}$. The flux above 25 TeV is about $20\%$ of the flux of Crab Nebula. Although a power-law fit of the spectrum from 10 TeV to 200 TeV with the photon index $\alpha=2.98 \pm 0.19_{stat} \pm 0.02_{sys}$ is not excluded, the LHAASO data together with the flux upper limit at 10 GeV set by the Fermi LAT observation, indicate a noticeable steepening of an initially hard power-law spectrum %($\alpha \leq 1.75$) spectrum with a cutoff at $\approx 50$ TeV. We briefly discuss the origin of UHE gamma-rays. The lack of an energetic pulsar and a young SNR inside or in the vicinity of LHAASO J0341+5258 challenge, but do not exclude both the leptonic and hadronic scenarios of gamma-ray production., Comment: Accepted by APJL

Recently, the LHAASO Collaboration published the detection of 12 ultrahigh-energy γ-ray sources above 100 TeV, with the highest energy photon reaching 1.4 PeV. The first detection of PeV γ rays from astrophysical sources may provide a very sensitive probe of the effect of the Lorentz invariance violation (LIV), which results in decay of high-energy γ rays in the superluminal scenario and hence a sharp cutoff of the energy spectrum. Two highest energy sources are studied in this work. No signature of the existence of the LIV is found in their energy spectra, and the lower limits on the LIV energy scale are derived. Our results show that the first-order LIV energy scale should be higher than about 10^{5} times the Planck scale M_{Pl} and that the second-order LIV scale is10^{-3}M_{Pl}. Both limits improve by at least one order of magnitude the previous results.

The maintenance requirements of net energy and net protein were assumed to represent the most accurate and important values totally for the animal’s utilization. The objective of this experiment was to determine the net energy and net protein requirements for maintenance of growing arctic foxes. The experiments was evaluated using regression models estimated from data collected by means of indirect calorimetry, nitrogen balance trials, and digestion and metabolism experiments. Thirty-six growing arctic foxes (3 487 ± 261.7 g) at the age of 85 days were randomly assigned to four groups with 9 animals in each group. Arctic foxes were fed a complete formula diet at four intake levels (100%, or 80%, 60%, and 40% of feed requirements) from 24 July 2017 to 23 September 2017. Arctic foxes in each treatment were kept individually in respiration chambers after 1-d adaptation at day 2 for a 3-d balance trial and then at day 5 followed by a 3-d fasting period. The metabolizable energy intake (MEI), heat production in the fed state (HP), and retained energy (RE) of arctic foxes significantly decreased (P < 0.01) as the feed intake level decreased. Fasting heat production (FHP) of arctic foxes was not influenced by feed intake level (P > 0.05). The metabolizable energy maintenance requirement (MEm) and net energy maintenance requirement (NEm) estimated from the linear relationship between RE and MEI were 230 and 217 kJ/kg of body weight BW0.75/d, respectively. The MEm and NEm estimated by logarithmic regression of HP on MEI were 225 and 209 kJ/kg BW0.75/d, respectively. The net N maintenance requirement (NNm) and net protein maintenance requirement (NPm) estimated from the linear relationship between retained nitrogen (RN) and daily nitrogen intake (NI) were 179.6 mg/kg BW0.75/d and 1.123 g/kg BW0.75/d, respectively. It is concluded that NEm and NPm values obtained fill the net energy and protein requirements shortage, and provide the basic data for establishing the standard of nutrition demand of breeding arctic foxes in China.

High temperature superconductor (HTS) conductors have low quench velocities compared to low temperature superconductor (LTS) conductors. An HTS conductor with very little copper has a low value of the integral of j 2 dt between the magnet operating temperature and 300 K. Adding copper to an HTS conductor reduces the quench propagation velocity and increases the time for the maximum hot spot temperature to be reached, but copper makes quench detection harder. To safely quench any large HTS magnet, one must reduce the current in the conductor rapidly and, ideally, one must heat up the coil to quench it. This paper explains how this can be done for large HTS solenoids or toroidal coils. These methods could permit one to wind solenoids and toroidal coils with higher energy densities per unit mass.

We report the discovery of an extended very-high-energy (VHE) gamma-ray source around the location of the middle-aged (207.8 kyr) pulsar PSR J0622+3749 with the Large High-Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO). The source is detected with a significance of 8.2σ for E25 TeV assuming a Gaussian template. The best-fit location is (right ascension, declination) =(95.47°±0.11°,37.92°±0.09°), and the extension is 0.40°±0.07°. The energy spectrum can be described by a power-law spectrum with an index of -2.92±0.17_{stat}±0.02_{sys}. No clear extended multiwavelength counterpart of the LHAASO source has been found from the radio to sub-TeV bands. The LHAASO observations are consistent with the scenario that VHE electrons escaped from the pulsar, diffused in the interstellar medium, and scattered the interstellar radiation field. If interpreted as the pulsar halo scenario, the diffusion coefficient, inferred for electrons with median energies of ∼160 TeV, is consistent with those obtained from the extended halos around Geminga and Monogem and much smaller than that derived from cosmic ray secondaries. The LHAASO discovery of this source thus likely enriches the class of so-called pulsar halos and confirms that high-energy particles generally diffuse very slowly in the disturbed medium around pulsars.

We report the discovery of a UHE gamma-ray source, LHAASO J2108+5157, by analyzing the LHAASO-KM2A data of 308.33 live days. Significant excess of gamma-ray induced showers is observed in both energy bands of 25-100 TeV and $\gt$100 TeV with 9.5 sigma and 8.5 sigma, respectively. This source is not significantly favored as an extensive source with the angular extension smaller than the point-spread function of KM2A. The measured energy spectrum from 20 to 200 TeV can be approximately described by a power-law function with an index of -2.83$\pm$ 0.18stat. A harder spectrum is demanded at lower energies considering the flux upper limit set by Fermi-LAT observations. The position of the gamma-ray emission is correlated with a giant molecular cloud, which favors a hadronic origin. Objective To discuss a new coding method for individual identification based on oral panoramic tomography, analyze the diversity of different coding modules in nonhomologous images and the consistency and the matching rate of the coding indexes of different coding modules in homologous images, and evaluate the application value of the different modules and the new coding method in individual identification. Methods The oral panoramic tomography images of 1 000 patients with permanent teeth were collected retrospectively. Each patient had two images taken at different times （called the Early database and the Late database according to the chronological order）. Each image was coded according to the designed coding method. A computer program was designed to compare the diversity of different modules, and calculate the diversity and consistency of different coding modules as well as the matching rate of the coding indexes. Results The diversity of the 4 modules that reflected teeth characteristics was much higher than that of other modules in the same database. The highest diversity was noticed in the module of right mandibular teeth in samples of both databases. The coding consistencies of the 4 modules were all above 50%. Besides, 90.2% of the matching rates of indexes of homologous images were over 80%. Conclusion The 4 modules have higher application value in individual identification, especially the right mandibular teeth. Chordoma is a rare malignant tumor difficult to diagnose and treat. Long non-coding RNAs acting as novel biomarkers are frequently reported in numerous cancers. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of long intergenic non-coding RNA 00662 (LINC00662) and its associated action mechanisms in chordoma.The expression of LINC00662, Ring finger protein 144B (RNF144B), and microRNA-16-5p (miR-16-5p) was detected by quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR). The protein levels of RNF144B, cell proliferation markers (Cyclin D1 and Ki67), epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers (E-cadherin, Vimentin and N-cadherin), and glycolysis markers [glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1), hexokinase II (HK2), and lactic dehydrogenase A (LDHA)] were determined by Western blot. Cell proliferation, the number of colonies, migration, and invasion were investigated by 3-(4, 5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2, 5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide (MTT), colony formation, and transwell assays, respectively. Glycolysis progress was evaluated by the glycolysis stress test, glucose consumption, lactate production, and ATP production. The relationship between miR-16-5p and LINC00662 or RNF144B was predicted by the online bioinformatics tool starBase and verified by Dual-Luciferase reporter assay. Xenograft tumor model was established to monitor the role of LINC00662 in vivo.LINC00662 and RNF144B were aberrantly upregulated in chordoma tissues. Knockdown of LINC00662 or RNF144B impeded proliferation, colony formation, invasion, migration, EMT, and glycolysis in chordoma cells. Besides, RNF144B overexpression reversed the role of LINC00662 knockdown. It was confirmed that miR-16-5p was a target of LINC00662, and miR-16-5p could target RNF144B. The relationship between LINC00662 and RNF144B was established by miR-16-5p. In addition, LINC00662 stable knockdown inhibited tumor growth in vivo.LINC00662 participated in the malignant progression of chordoma by the promotion of RNF144B by acting as a sponge of miR-16-5p, suggesting that LINC00662 was a promising therapeutic target for chordoma.

The main scientific goal of the LHAASO WFCTA experiment is to measure the cosmic ray energy spectra and composition from 10 TeV to 1 EeV. Cherenkov photons in the extensive air shower measured by the SiPM camera of Cherenkov telescopes can be used to reconstruct the cosmic ray energy. The absolute calibration of the camera is a crucial step to achieve the accurate measurement of the cosmic ray energy spectrum. A multi-wavelength cylindrical illuminator based on LEDs is developed and mounted inside the telescope to calibrate and monitor the camera, and the illuminator’s stability is better than 0.5% under the temperature variation from -26 to 26 ° C. A portable probe with a single photoelectron resolution of 21.6% is developed. After calibration by National Institute of Metrology, China (NIM), the probe is taken to the LHAASO site to measure the absolute photon density of the cylindrical illuminator inside the telescope. Based on the illuminator with known photon density, the photon conversion factor of the camera can be calibrated, and the overall calibration uncertainty is less than 2.6%.

We report a set of theoretical data for the energy levels, wavelengths, transition rates of electric/magnetic-dipole (E1/M1) and electric/magnetic-quadrupole (E2/M2) transitions for the L-shell charge states of Y 30 + , Y 31 + , Y 32 + , Y 33 + , Y 34 + , and Y 36 + and the similar spectroscopic data of the 166 fine-structure levels arising from the 2s2, 2s2p, 2p2, 2snl (n=3,4,5; l=0,1,2,3,4), and 2pnl (n=3,4,5; l=0,1,2,3,4) configurations of Y 35 + , obtained using the second-order relativistic many-body perturbation theory (MBPT). The overall quality of the calculations is assessed by comparisons with the other available theoretical values and the measured spectra in the Electron Beam Ion Trap (EBIT) of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). For these yttrium ions, only a few levels have been experimentally established. The accuracy of our calculations is however high enough to facilitate identifications of observed lines. The present new data, fill in a gap in the available data of the extreme ultraviolet (EUV) transitions for these ions particularly important for fusion research where their spectra can provide diagnostic information on hot plasmas, in particular in fusion devices.

Theoretical calculations of Ga-like to Br-like gadolinium ions were performed by using the fully relativistic multi-configuration Dirac–Hartree–Fock (MCDHF) method. Extensive lists of excitation energies, wavelengths, line and oscillator strengths, and E1, M1, E2, M2, and E3 transition rates are presented. The effects of core–valence electron correlation from the deep subshells 3 d and 3 p are investigated and the accuracy of the results is confirmed by comparing with available theoretical and experimental data sets.

The data were drawn from injury hospitalization surveillance system in Shandong province. From 2012 to 2018, 164 cases of acute occupational poisoning were reported from five surveillance counties (cities, districts), accounting for 6.11% (164/2 683) of total accidental poisoning cases. The annual average reported incidence of acute occupational poisoning hospitalization was 1.15/100 000. The number of male cases was 3.3 times that of females (126 vs 38). The poisoning cases mainly occurred between January to May in a year and 5-7 AM within a day. Those cases were mainly caused by irritating gases (92 cases, 56.10%) and asphyxiating gases (53 cases, 32.32%), of which chlorine (71 cases) and carbon monoxide (50 cases) were the main reasons. The Ab initio multiconfiguration Dirac-Hartree-Fock (MCDHF) calculations of atomic parameters have been carried out with high accuracy for four highly charged tungsten ions from Se-like W 40 + to Ga-like W 43 + . The second-order relativistic many-body perturbation theory (MBPT) was used to confirm the accuracy of the MCDHF calculations. Excitation energies, wavelengths and transition rates of E1, M1, E2, M2, E3 and lifetimes are presented. The core-valence electron correlation effects arising from deep subshells 3d and 3p, have been taken into account along with relativistic effects. The calculated wavelengths are in good agreement with available experimental results.

Using the second-order many-body perturbation theory (MBPT) method, a complete and accurate data set of excitation energies, lifetimes, wavelengths, and electric dipole (E1), magnetic dipole (M1), electric quadrupole (E2), and magnetic quadrupole (M2) line strengths, transition rates, and oscillator strengths for the lowest 880 levels arising from the 3 l 3 ( 0 ≤ l ≤ 2 ), 3 l 2 4 l ′ ( 0 ≤ l ≤ 2 , 0 ≤ l ′ ≤ 3 ), 3 s 2 5 l ( 0 ≤ l ≤ 4 ), 3 p 2 5 l ( 0 ≤ l ≤ 1 ), and 3s3p5 l ( 0 ≤ l ≤ 4 ) configurations in Al-like Kr XXIV is provided. Comparisons are made with available experimental and theoretical results. Our calculated energies are expected to be accurate enough to facilitate identifications of observed lines involving the n = 4 , 5 levels. The complete data set is also useful for modeling and diagnosing fusion plasma.

An extensive set of level energies, wavelengths, line strengths, oscillator strengths, lifetimes, hyperfine structures, Land e ´ gJ-factors, electric dipole (E1), magnetic dipole (M1), electric quadrupole (E2), and magnetic quadrupole (M2) radiative transition rates among the lowest 318 states arising from the 2s22p4, 2s2p5, 2p6, 2s22p33l (l = 0, 1, 2), 2s2p43l (l = 0, 1, 2), 2p53l (l = 0, 1, 2), and 2s22p34l (l = 0, 1, 2, 3) configurations has been obtained for Se XXVII. These new data, calculated within the frameworks of the multi-configuration Dirac–Hartree–Fock method and the second-order many-body perturbation theory, fill in the gap existing in the atomic data needed for the diagnostic processes of tokamak plasmas. Using two methods allowed us to make an intercomparison and to estimate the uncertainties on the obtained data. The results arising in the two sets of calculations are quite close, suggesting that there is a high degree of convergence achieved in our work. i.e., our two sets of energies agree to better than 0.02%, and the lifetimes mostly agree to within 2%. Comparison is also made with the limited number of experimental data and previous computations to assess the accuracy of our calculations.

Employing the independent-process and isolated-resonance approximations using distorted-waves (IPIRDW), we have performed a series of calculations of the resonance-enhanced electron-impact excitations (EIE) among 27 singly excited levels from the n ≤ 6 configurations of Cu-like gold (Au, Z = 79 ). Resonance excitation (RE) contributions from both the n = 4 → 4 − 7 and n = 3 → 4 core excitations have been considered. Our results demonstrate that RE contributions are significant and enhance the effective collision strengths (ϒ) of certain excitations by up to an order of magnitude at low temperature (106.1 K), and are still important at relatively high temperature (107.5 K). Results from test calculations of the resonance-enhanced EIE processes among 16 levels from the n ≤ 5 configurations using both the Dirac R-matrix (DRM) and IPIRDW approaches agree very well with each other. This means that the close-coupling effects are not important for this ion, and thus warrants the reliability of present resonance-enhanced EIE data among the 27 levels. The results from the collisional-radiative model (CRM) show that, at 3000 eV, near where Cu-like Au is most abundant, RE contributions have important effects (up to 25%) on the density diagnostic line intensity ratios, which are sensitive near 1020 cm − 3 . The present work is the first EIE research including RE contributions for Cu-like Au. Our EIE data are more accurate than previous results due to our consideration of RE contributions, and the data should be helpful for modeling and diagnosing a variety of plasmas.

Energy levels and transition rates for electric-dipole (E1), electric-quadrupole (E2), magnetic-dipole (M1), and magnetic-quadrupole (M2) transitions of the lowest 393 levels arising from the 3l3 ( 0 ≤ l ⩽ 2 ), 3 s 2 4 l ( 0 ≤ l ⩽ 3 ), 3 s 3 p 4 l ( 0 ≤ l ⩽ 3 ), 3 p 2 4 l ( 0 ≤ l ⩽ 2 ), 3 s 3 d 4 l ( 0 ≤ l ⩽ 1 ), and 3 s 2 5 l ( 0 ≤ l ⩽ 4 ) configurations in Al-like Zn are calculated through the multi-configuration Dirac-Hartree-Fock (MCDHF) method and second-order many-body perturbation theory (MBPT). In the MCDHF calculation, valence-valence and core-valence correlations with the 2 p and 2 s electrons are taken into account. The effect of Breit interaction and quantum electrodynamics corrections on excitation level energies and level lifetimes are assessed though the MCDHF and MBPT calculations. The two sets of level energies are in excellent agreement of better than 0.1%, while the level lifetimes mostly agree to within 2%. Comparisons are also made with experimental measurements and other theoretical results to assess the accuracy of our calculations.

MicroRNA-26a (miR-26a) exhibits diverse functions in different human disease. However, further research is needed to investigate the potential role of miR-26a in cerebral ischemia injury.The expressions of miR-26a and PTEN (phosphatase and tensin homolog) were detected via Real Time-quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-qPCR) assay. The protein expression of Bcl-2 and Bax was detected by Western blot assay. MTT (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) assay was used to observe the cell viability of SH-SY5Y cells. The relationship between miR-26a and PTEN was confirmed by Dual-Luciferase assay and human SH-SY5Y cells were treated with oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD)/reperfusion to mimic I/R injury.The expression of miR-26a was increased in the OGDR model. Moreover, upregulation of miR-26a promoted cell viability and inhibited OGDR-induced apoptosis. PTEN was confirmed as a direct target gene for miR-26a. Under OGDR conditions, the expression of PTEN was significantly decreased. Moreover, overexpression of PTEN inhibited cell viability, promoted cell apoptosis and deepened the effect of the OGDR model.MiR-26a promoted the viability of SH-SY5Y cells and suppressed apoptosis under OGDR conditions by targeting PTEN.

In order to evaluate the intervention effect of the school-based salt reduction model, 28 primary schools were selected in Shandong Province in September 2014 and randomly divided into intervention group (1 361 students, 1 306 parents) and control group (1 364 students,1 340 parents). A series of "small hands and big hands" salt reduction intervention activities were conducted in intervention group for 8 months. Based on the data from Shandong Province death registration system in 2015, the mortality rate was adjusted by the results of underreporting rate investigation, and the probability of premature death of non-communicable diseases was calculated by life table method. A total of 728 287 deaths caused by four main non-communicable diseases (NCDs) including cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, malignant tumor, diabetes, and chronic respiratory disease, accounting for 85.83% of the total death in 2015. The death of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and malignant tumor accounted for 50.90% and 25.69% respectively. The probability of premature death was 17.84%. The probability in males was higher than that in females (23.12% vs 12.25%). The highest probability of premature death in urban was cancer, but in rural was cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. The probability increased from the East areas to the West. The highest probability reached at 21.50% in the Western underdeveloped areas, and the lowest probability was in Dongying City (14.84%) and Weihai City (14.94%) in the coastal areas.利用2015年山东省居民死因网络报告登记资料，通过漏报率进行死亡率调整，采用寿命表法计算慢性病早死概率。2015年全省因四类慢性病（心脑血管疾病、恶性肿瘤、糖尿病、慢性呼吸系统疾病）死亡728 287例（占全死因的85.83%），以心脑血管疾病（50.90%）、恶性肿瘤（25.69%）为主。早死概率为17.84%；男性早死概率（23.12%）高于女性（12.25%）；城市居民恶性肿瘤早死概率最高，农村居民心脑血管疾病早死概率最高；从东向西呈增高趋势，其中西部欠发达地区中最高的达21.50%，沿海地区的东营市和威海市最低，分别为14.84%和14.94%。.

A 532 nm single-frequency laser generated from a V-type oscillator configuration with a wedged Nd:YVO4 crystal and a KTP crystal is reported. An a-cut, 2.at% Nd:YVO4 crystal with a wedge angle of 10° and a KTP nonlinear crystal composes a novel birefringent filter. By adjusting the incident angle of the fundamental mode in the KTP, the laser can change from single-mode operation to two-mode oscillation. The maximum single-frequency output power of lasers with a 5 mm long KTP and a 7 mm long KTP are 284 and 148 mW, respectively, at pump powers of 2 and 1.1 W. The corresponding optical-to-optical conversion efficiencies are 14.2% and 13.5%. For the laser configuration with a 5 mm long KTP, the single-frequency operation at a pump power of 2 W is maintained within the temperature range of 18 °C to 24 °C, and the measured wavelength drift rate with the temperature is approximately 0.071 nm °C−1.

The LHAASO-WFCTA experiment, which aims to observe cosmic rays in the sub-EeV range using the fluorescence technique, uses a new generation of high-performance telescopes. To ensure that the experiment has excellent detection capability associated with the measurement of the energy spectrum, the primary composition of cosmic rays, and so on, an accurate geometrical reconstruction of air-shower events is fundamental. This paper describes the development and testing of geometrical reconstruction for stereo viewed events using the WFCTA (Wide Field of view Cherenkov/Fluorescence Telescope Array) detectors. Two approaches, which take full advantage of the WFCTA detectors, are investigated. One is the stereo-angular method, which uses the pointing of triggered SiPMs in the shower trajectory, and the other is the stereo-timing method, which uses the triggering time of the fired SiPMs. The results show that both methods have good geometrical resolution; the resolution of the stereo-timing method is slightly better than the stereo-angular method because the resolution of the latter is slightly limited by the shower track length.

A sub-array of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO), KM2A is mainly designed to observe a large fraction of the northern sky to hunt for γ-ray sources at energies above 10 TeV. Even though the detector construction is still underway, half of the KM2A array has been operating stably since the end of 2019. In this paper, we present the KM2A data analysis pipeline and the first observation of the Crab Nebula, a standard candle in very high energy γ-ray astronomy. We detect γ-ray signals from the Crab Nebula in both energy ranges of 10 100 TeV and 100 TeV with high significance, by analyzing the KM2A data of 136 live days between December 2019 and May 2020. With the observations, we test the detector performance, including angular resolution, pointing accuracy and cosmic-ray background rejection power. The energy spectrum of the Crab Nebula in the energy range 10-250 TeV fits well with a single power-law function dN/dE = (1.13 0.05 0.08 ) 10 (E/20 TeV) cm s TeV . It is consistent with previous measurements by other experiments. This opens a new window of γ-ray astronomy above 0.1 PeV through which new ultrahigh-energy γ-ray phenomena, such as cosmic PeVatrons, might be discovered.

The origin of cancers is associated with etiology as well as therapeutics. Several studies reveal that malignancies in children can originate in utero. However, a diagnostic approach to distinguish between cancers initiated pre- or postnatally is absent. Here we identified a transcriptional factor FEV (fifth Ewing variant) that was expressed in fetal hematopoietic cells and became silent after birth. We characterized that FEV was essential for the self-renewal of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). We next found that FEV was expressed in most infant leukemia samples, but seldom in adult samples, in accord with the known prenatal origins of the former. We further determined the majority of pediatric acute lymphoid leukemia (ALL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) were FEV positive. Moreover, FEV knockdown markedly impaired the leukemia-propagating ability of leukemic stem cells. We therefore identified FEV is unique to fetal HSCs and stably expressed in leukemic cells of prenatal origin. It may also provide a tractable therapeutic target.

Quench-back from the mandrel has been widely used in quench protection of superconducting magnets. The rational use of quench-back requires detailed understanding of the heat transfer and electromagnetic process in the magnet during a quench process. A coupled transient thermal-electromagnetic-circuit finite-element model was developed to study the quench process with quench-back. This model sequentially solves two different physics models: one is the thermal physics model, which is used to solve the 3-D temperature field, and the other one is the coupled electromagnetic-circuit physics model, which is used to solve the 2-D axisymmetric electromagnetic field and lumped circuit model. The two models are coupled by applying results from one model as inputs into the other model. The quench process of two solenoid magnets in practical engineering is calculated using this model. Results, such as current, hot-spot temperature, and overvoltage during the quench process, were presented. The effect of quench-back on speeding up the quench process is presented. This can provide a theoretical guidance for application of quench-back in quench protection.

DJ-1 expression is elevated in a variety of tumors and is related to the survival of tumor cells under adverse stimuli. DJ-1 3'-untranslated region (3'-UTR) contains the target of miR-128-3p, and the expression of miR-128-3p is decreased in hepatoma cells. Therefore, we speculate and address in this study, that miR-128-3p can regulate DJ-1 expression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and play an important role in HCC cells survival.MiR-128-3p and DJ-1 expression in HCC cell lines were measured using quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR) and Western blot analysis. Dual luciferase reporter assay was adopted to confirm the miR-128-3p binding sequences in the 3'-UTR of DJ-1. Sorafenib-induced apoptosis was evaluated by flow cytometry, and the apoptosis-associated proteins were detected by Western blot analysis. Overexpression of miR-128-3p and DJ-1 were achieved via transfection with miR-128-3p mimic and DJ-1 plasmid, respectively.We revealed that miR-128-3p expression was downregulated, while DJ-1 expression was upregulated in HCC cell lines, and DJ-1 expression can be regulated by miR-128-3p via directly binding to it. Moreover, functional assays showed that overexpression of miR-128-3p sensitized HCC cells to sorafenib-induced apoptosis, and this phenomenon was partly abolished by DJ-1. Mechanistically, PTEN/PI3K/Akt signaling pathway was found to participate in the miR-128-3p induced sensitivity to sorafenib via DJ-1.We conclude that miR-128-3p overexpression sensitized HCC to sorafenib-induced apoptosis via PTEN/PI3K/Akt signaling pathway by regulating DJ-1 expression.
