The initial scale was developed through a literature review, expert meetings, and two-round Delphi expert consultation. The reliability indicators included retest reliability and Cronbach’s alpha coefficients. The validity indicators included content, construct, convergent, discriminant, and criterion validity. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were employed for the validity analysis; 22 venous therapy experts participated in the Delphi expert consultation. A total of 500 patients were recruited from two third-class A hospitals in Guangdong Province, China, between July 2020 and January 2021 to test reliability and validity. A convenience sampling method was adopted.Results: The final scale comprised seven dimensions and 29 items. The content validity index (S-CVI) was 0.990. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and retest reliability of the scale were 0.931 and 0.900, respectively. The EFA results indicated a seven-factor structure, accounting for 65.68% of the total data variance. The results of the CFA showed that the CMIN/DF value was 2.348; the root mean square error of approximation value was 0.06; and the values of comparative fit index, incremental fit index, and Tucker–Lewis index were all > 0.90. The factor loadings for all the items were > 0.50, the composite reliability value was > 0.70, and the average variance extracted (AVE) value was > 0.50. Moreover, all absolute values of the correlation coefficients were less than the square root of the AVE for the seven dimensions. The total scores between the health promoting lifestyle profile-II revise (HPLP-IIR) and CPTSMBS were positively correlated (r = 0.465, p < 0.01).Conclusion: The scale demonstrated good reliability and validity and can be applied in clinical practice to evaluate self-management behavior among patients using a TIVAP.Keywords: totally implantable venous access port, TIVAP, reliability, validity, scale, self-management

Novel surfactant-free nanoparticle (NP) systems are needed to improve bioavailability and reduce side effects. However, controlling the particle size and stability of NPs and improving the batch-to-batch variation are the major challenges.Methods: DTX-loaded bovine serum albumin nanoparticles (DTX-BSA-NPs) were prepared by a novel thermal-driven self-assembly/microfluidic technology. Single-factor analysis and orthogonal test were conducted to obtain the optimal formulation of DTX-BSA-NPs in terms of particle size, encapsulation efficiency (EE), and drug loading (DL). The effects of oil/water flow rate and pump pressure on the particle size, EE, and DL were investigated to optimize the preparation process of DTX-BSA-NPs. The drug release, physicochemical properties, stability, and pharmacokinetics of NPs were evaluated.Results: The optimized DTX-BSA-NPs were uniform, with a particle size of 118.30 nm, EE of 89.04%, and DL of 8.27%. They showed a sustained release of 70% over 96 hours and an increased stability. There were some interactions between the drug and excipients in DTX-BSA-NPs. The half-life, mean residence time, and area under the curve (AUC) of DTX-BSA-NPs increased, but plasma clearance decreased when compared with DTX.Conclusion: The thermal-driven self-assembly/microfluidic combination method effectively produces BSA-based NPs that improve the bioavailability and stability of DTX, offering a promising alternative to traditional formulations. The current study aims to investigate the incidence of SH targeting psychiatrists in China and explore its impact on quality of life (QOL).Methods: A consecutive recruitment of 1093 psychiatrists was conducted from 6 hospitals in China. The recorded data included participants’ socio-demographic characteristics, experiences of workplace SH within the previous year, and their QOL. SH comprised verbal harassment, physical harassment, and displaying of sexual organs. The Chinese version of the World Health Organization Quality of Life Brief Version (WHOQOL-BREF) was employed to assess QOL. We compared the demographic characteristics and QOL between the SH group and the non-SH group. Multiple logistic regression analysis was used to identify independent demographic correlates of SH.Results: In total, 13.8% (n = 151) of the psychiatrists reported SH, with 5.8% reporting it once, 4.4% reporting it twice, and 3.6% reporting it three times or more. Psychiatrists who had encountered SH exhibited lower QOL across social, psychological, physical, and environmental domains. Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that young physicians and those with shorter work experience had a higher likelihood of experiencing SH.Conclusion: The high prevalence of SH among Chinese psychiatrists is of concern. Given its detrimental effects on the well-being of physicians and the quality of medical care they provide, it is crucial to develop specialized employee training programs for this population to effectively manage workplace SH.Keywords: China, psychiatrists, quality of life, mental health professionals, sexual harassment, workplace safety

This study aimed to investigate the effects of feed containing yak meat on scalded rats’ body condition and wound healing.Methods: Adopting a two-factor factorial design, the growth performance, food intake, body weight, and Lee’s index of rats were measured. The wound conditions of scalded rats with different feeds (basic, basic + yak meat, and basic + yellow beef) were observed at different periods, and their wounds’ hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining states were detected. The proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA)-positive cells and apoptosis were analyzed to evaluate the effects of feed on the wound healing of scalded rats.Results: The feed intake was the highest in the yellow beef feed group and the lowest in the yak meat feed group. The body weight was the highest in the yak meat feed group and the lowest in the yellow beef feed group. Furthermore, 45 days after scalding, the obesity index in the yak beef feed group was the closest to that of the rats before scalding. The wound recovery of the rats in the yak meat feed group was the best at 30 days, and the H&E staining results also proved that the recovery effect of the scalded rats in the yak meat feed group was better than other two groups. According to the results of PCNA and apoptosis, the yak meat feed group had lower positive cell rate and faster wound healing.Conclusion: The rats in the yak meat feed group recovered better than those in the other groups, and the yak beef feed had the best effect on the wound healing of the scalded rats.Keywords: scalded rats, yak meat feed, yellow beef feed, basic feed, wound healing

Multiple studies found that miRNAs can regulate the chemosensitivity of tumor cells. Here, this study aimed to assess the potential role of the miR-15a-5p/cell division cycle-related protein 4 (CDCA4) axis in breast cancer (BC) resistance to Adriamycin.Methods: In the present study, the relative expression of miRNA-15a-5p in MCF-7/ADR, MCF-7 and Hs578Bst was measured by qRT-PCR. MCF-7/ADR cells underwent transfection with an miR-15a-5p mimic and inhibitor, respectively. Transwell assays, flow cytometry and CCK8 were performed to examine the potential effects of the abnormal expression of miR-15a-5p. The association of aberrant miR-15a-5p expression with Adriamycin resistance in BC was determined in cultured MCF-7/ADR cells. Bioinformatics was employed to predict the genes targeted by miR-15a-5p. Moreover, the correlation between miR-15a-5p and its target gene, CDCA4, was evaluated based on qRT-PCR data.Results: The expression of miR-15a-5p was significantly downregulated in MCF/ADR cells compared with MCF-7 and Hs578Bst cell lines. In the presence of Adriamycin, miR-15a-5p overexpression significantly increased cell chemosensitivity, as well as MCF-7/ADR cell proliferation, invasion, and migration, while promoting apoptosis and inducing cell-cycle arrest in the synthesis phase. CDCA4 RNA interference enhanced these effects as shown in our previous study. Bioinformatics identified CDCA4 as an miR-15a-5p target gene. qRT-PCR further demonstrated that CDCA4 and miR-15a-5p expression levels were inversely correlated.Conclusion: Adriamycin resistance in BC cells was, at least in part, altered by mRNA-15a-5p via regulation of its target gene, CDCA4, by controlling the cell cycle, which may provide some novel ideas for BC chemotherapy in the future.Keywords: breast cancer, Adriamycin resistance, miR-15a-5p, CDCA4, cell-free nucleic acids, molecular targets, breast cancer patient stratification

Moreover, there are no markers that can be accurately used in the clinic to diagnose early-stage gastric cancer or monitor the patient’s response to therapy. Herein, we investigate whether FKBP14 is involved in the progression of gastric cancer.Methods: The AGS cell line was chosen for over-expression analysis, whereas the SGC-7901 cell line was selected for knock-down analysis. AGS cells were transfected with an FKBP14 overexpression plasmid (AGS-PLV.O-FLAG). The expression pattern of FKBP14 in both cell lines was determined by Western blot and RT-PCR. Cell proliferation was assessed using Cell Counting Kit-8, whereas apoptosis was performed using flow cytometry. The expression of FKBP14 in 70 Chinese patients with gastric cancer was also investigated using tissue microarrays and compared with gastric cancer patients from The Cancer Genome Atlas.Results: FKBP14 was highly expressed in SGC7901 and had a relatively low expression in AGS cells. Upregulation of FKBP14 in AGS cells promoted migration and invasion and inhibits apoptosis. Knock-down of FKBP14 resulted in a suppression in migration and invasion and promoted apoptosis in the SGC-7901 cell line. Effectively, gastric cancer patients had a higher expression of FKBP14, with a lower survival rate (P = 0.028). Patients with a high expression of FKBP14 were significantly correlated with lymph node metastasis (P =0.016), and an advanced histologic grade (P =0.021).Conclusion: FKBP14 is often up-regulated in gastric cancer. Patients with a high expression of FKBP14 are usually associated with worse overall survival. Recent studies have highlighted the role of Pim1, which belongs to a group of constitutively activated serine/threonine kinases, in cancer development. However, the effect of Pim1 in OC is largely unclear. Methods: OC cell lines with Pim1 overexpression or knockdown were constructed with lentivirus transduction. Cell Counting Kit-8, colony formation, glycolysis stress test and in vivo mice models were carried out to assess the effect of Pim1 on OC biological functions. Co-immunoprecipitation assay coupled with western blot were performed to explore the intrinsic mechanisms of Pim1 in OC. Bioinformatic analysis was then performed to evaluate the expression and prognostic value of Pim1. Results: We present the first evidence that silencing or overexpressing Pim1 can suppress or promote, respectively, OC cell proliferation. Furthermore, we demonstrated that Pim1 can significantly enhance glycolysis in OC cells. In vivo experiments further confirmed that knockdown of Pim1 inhibits the growth of tumors derived from the SKOV3 cell line. To search for the underlying molecular mechanism, we examined the effect of Pim1 on MYC, a pivotal gene in glycolysis, and observed that Pim1-mediated phosphorylation of c-Myc activated the expression of glycolysis-associated key genes such as PGK1 and LDHA. Moreover, we found that the Pim1 inhibitor SMI4a induced chemosensitization to cisplatin. Clinically, Pim1 was also overexpressed in OC and correlated with poor overall survival by bioinformatics analysis. Conclusion: Together, these results suggest that Pim1 contributes to proliferation and glycolysis in OC via interaction with MYC and may serve as a potential target in the treatment of OC patients. SPL-A is derived from dicoumarol which inhibits the activity of NAD(P)H dehydrogenase quinone oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1). This study aimed to investigate the mechanism by which SPL-A enhances TRAIL-induced apoptosis in endometrial carcinoma cells. Materials and methods: Endometrial carcinoma cells were treated with SPL-A and/or TRAIL, and the apoptosis and protein expression in the treated cells were examined. Results: Combined treatment with SPL-A and TRAIL significantly induced apoptosis in various human endometrial carcinoma cells, but not in normal human endometrial stromal cells and endometrial epithelial cells. Notably, both NQO1 inhibitor ES936 and NQO1 siRNA enhanced TRAIL-induced apoptosis of endometrial carcinoma cells. Furthermore, SPL-A downregulated the expression of c-FLIP, Bcl-2, Bcl-xl, and Mcl-1, while increasing p53 expression. Conclusion: In particular, luciferase assay showed that SPL-A inhibited Bcl-2 promoter activity, and p53 inhibitor PFT-α could reverse the effect of SPL-A on Bcl-2 expression. Moreover, Bcl-2 overexpression inhibited the apoptosis induced by SPL-A and TRAIL. Taken together, our results suggest that SPL-A sensitizes endometrial cancer cells to TRAIL-induced apoptosis via the regulation of apoptosis-related proteins and the inhibition of NQO1 activity. However, the available information is insufficient about the dose effect of monoclonal antibody against epidermal growth factor receptor for the treatment of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). We retrospectively recruited 66 patients with ESCC who were treated with h-R3 and chemoradiotherapy/radiotherapy. Patients who received more than 1,200 mg of h-R3 were classified as the high-dose group, and the remaining patients were classified as the low-dose group. The endpoint for efficacy was the overall survival. Differences in survival between the groups were analyzed using the log-rank test. The Cox proportional hazards model was used in multivariate analysis to identify independent prognostic factors. The low-dose and high-dose groups comprised 55 and eleven patients, respectively. The median follow-up time in the final analysis was 46 months. The high-dose group showed no increased incidence of toxicities compared to the low-dose group. The 1-, 2-, and 5-year overall survival rates in the low-dose and high-dose groups were 66.9%, 50.0%, 31.5% and 90.0%, 80.0%, 66.7%, respectively (P=0.04). Multivariate analyses showed that the high-dose group had better survival than the low-dose group (hazard ratio 0.28, 95% confidence interval 0.09–0.94, P=0.039). Taken together, high-dose h-R3 showed limited toxicity and improved survival in patients with ESCC. The goal of this study was to evaluate the effect of celastrol nanoparticles (CNPs) on retinoblastoma and to investigate the potential mechanisms involved.Methods: Celastrol-loaded poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(ε-caprolactone) nanopolymeric micelles were developed to improve the hydrophilicity of celastrol. The 2-(2-methoxy-4-nitrophenyl)-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-5-(2,4-disulf-ophenyl)-2H tetrazolium monosodium salt (WST-8) assay was used to determine the inhibitory effect of CNPs on SO-Rb 50 cell proliferation in vitro. Immunofluorescence was used to evaluate the apoptotic effect of CNPs on nuclear morphology, and flow cytometry was used to quantify cellular apoptosis. The expression of Bcl-2, Bax, NF-κB p65, and phospo-NF-κB p65 proteins was assessed by Western blotting. A human retinoblastoma xenograft model was used to evaluate the inhibitory effects of CNPs on retinoblastoma in NOD-SCID mice. Hematoxylin and eosin staining was used to assess the apoptotic effects of CNPs on retinoblastoma.Results: CNPs inhibit the proliferation of SO-Rb 50 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner with an IC50 of 17.733 µg/mL (celastrol-loading content: 7.36%) after exposure to CNPs for 48 hours. CNPs induce apoptosis in SO-Rb 50 cells in a dose-dependent manner. The expression of Bcl-2, NF-κB p65, and phospo-NF-κB p65 proteins decreased after exposure to CNPs 54.4 µg/mL for 48 hours. Additionally, the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio increased, whereas the expression of Bax itself was not significantly altered. CNPs inhibit the growth of retinoblastoma and induce apoptosis in retinoblastoma cells in mice.Conclusion: CNPs inhibit the growth of retinoblastoma in mouse xenograft model by inducing apoptosis in SO-Rb 50 cells, which may be related to the increased Bax/Bcl-2 ratio and the inhibition of NF-κB. In vitro, human umbilical vein endothelial cell proliferation and capillary-like tube formation were assayed. In vivo, suture-induced CNV was chosen to evaluate the effect of CNPs on CNV in rats. Immunohistochemistry for CD68 assessed the macrophage infiltration of the cornea on day 6 after surgery. Real-time quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were used to evaluate the messenger ribonucleic acid and protein levels, respectively, of vascular endothelial growth factor, matrix metalloproteinase 9, and monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 in the cornea.Results: The mean diameter of CNPs with spherical shape was 48 nm. The celastrol loading content was 7.36%. The release behavior of CNPs in buffered solution (pH 7.4) showed a typical two-phase release profile. CNPs inhibited the proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells in a dose-independent manner and suppressed the capillary structure formation. After treatment with CNPs, the length and area of CNV reduced from 1.16 ± 0.18 mm to 0.49 ± 0.12 mm and from 7.71 ± 0.94 mm2 to 2.29 ± 0.61 mm2, respectively. Macrophage infiltration decreased significantly in the CNP-treated corneas. CNPs reduced the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor, matrix metalloproteinase 9, and monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 in the cornea on day 6 after suturing.Conclusion: CNPs significantly inhibited suture-induced CNV by suppressing macrophage infiltration and the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor and matrix metalloproteinase 9 in the rat cornea.Keywords: celastrol, PEG-b-PCL nanopolymeric micelles, corneal neovascularization, macrophages, VEGF, MMP-9

Background: Renal parenchymal volume (RPV) is considered an important index for clinical decisions. However, normal values have not been established, which hinders the clinical application of RPV. Purpose: To test the accuracy and reproducibility of RPV and to investigate the normal values of RPV and kidney length as measured by non-enhanced multidetector computed tomography (CT). Material and Methods: An animal model study was performed to test the accuracy and repeatability of RPV measured by CT. RPV of porcine kidneys was measured by water displacement (actual values) and non-enhanced multidetector CT. Individual RPV and kidney length were measured by non-enhanced CT in patients with no clinical history of renal disease (n = 722). Patient height, age, weight, body surface area (BSA), and body mass index (BMI) were assessed before each patient's CT examination was performed. Results: RPV obtained by the CT method was within 2% of the RPV determined by the water displacement method. The normal values of RPV (M ± 1.96 standard deviation [SD]) were 145.72 ± 54.37 mL for men and 132.46 ± 41.94 mL for women. The normal values of kidney length (M ± 1.96 SD) were 10.27 ± 1.98 cm for men and 9.93 ± 1.58 cm for women. RPV did not significantly correlate with BSA or weight in women, but correlated significantly with height and age in both men and women. Of the assessed factors age, weight, height, BSA, and BMI, age, and height were the independent factors that best reflected RPV, in both men and women. Conclusion: The present animal study results showed that non-enhanced multidetector CT findings accurately reflect the RPV. The subsequent study performed in humans showed that the RPV of the presently sampled Chinese population was lower than the commonly quoted reference values obtained from Western populations. Drought dramatically affects plant growth and yield. A previous study indicated that endophytic fungus Phomopsis liquidambaris can improve the drought resistance of peanuts, which is related with the root arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) community; however, how root endophytes mediate AMF assembly to affect plant drought resistance remains unclear. Here, we explored the mechanism by which endophytic fungus recruits AMF symbiotic partners via rhizodeposits to improve host drought resistance. The results showed that Ph. liquidambaris enhanced peanut drought resistance by enriching the AMF genus Claroideoglomus of the rhizosphere. Furthermore, metabolomic analysis indicated that Ph. liquidambaris significantly promoted isoformononetin and salicylic acid (SA) synthesis in rhizodeposits, which were correlated with the increase in Claroideoglomus abundance following Ph. liquidambaris inoculation. Coinoculation experiments confirmed that isoformononetin and SA could enrich Claroideoglomus etunicatum in the rhizosphere, thereby improving the drought resistance. This study highlights the crucial role of fungal consortia in plant stress resistance.

Aim: To describe the multimodal imaging features, treatment, and outcomes of patients diagnosed with adult-onset Coats disease., Methods: This retrospective study included patients first diagnosed with Coats disease at ≥18 years of age between September 2017 and September 2021. Some patients received anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapy (conbercept, 0.5 mg) as the initial treatment, which was combined with laser photocoagulation as needed. All the patients underwent best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and intraocular pressure examinations, fundus color photography, spontaneous fluorescence tests, fundus fluorescein angiography, optical coherence tomography (OCT), OCT angiography, and other examinations. BCVA alterations and multimodal image findings in the affected eyes following treatment were compared and the prognostic factors were analyzed., Results: The study included 15 patients who were aged 24-72 (57.33±12.61)y at presentation. Systemic hypertension was the most common associated systemic condition, occurring in 13 (86.7%) patients. Baseline BCVA ranged from 2.0 to 5.0 (4.0±1.1), which showed improvement following treatment (4.2±1.0). Multimodal imaging revealed retinal telangiectasis in 13 patients (86.7%), patchy hemorrhage in 5 patients (33.3%), and stage 2B disease (Shield's staging criteria) in 11 patients (73.3%). OCT revealed that the baseline central macular thickness (CMT) ranged from 129 to 964 µm (473.0±230.1 µm), with 13 patients (86.7%) exhibiting a baseline CMT exceeding 250 µm. Furthermore, 8 patients (53.3%) presented with an epiretinal membrane at baseline or during follow-up. Hyper-reflective scars were observed on OCT in five patients (33.3%) with poor visual prognosis. Vision deteriorated in one patient who did not receive treatment. Final vision was stable in three patients who received laser treatment, whereas improvement was observed in one of two patients who received anti-VEGF therapy alone. In addition, 8 of 9 patients (88.9%) who received laser treatment and conbercept exhibited stable or improved BCVA., Conclusion: Multimodal imaging can help diagnose adult-onset Coats disease. Anti-VEGF treatment combined with laser therapy can be an option for improving or maintaining BCVA and resolving macular edema. Diabetes has become one of the most common endocrine and metabolic diseases threatening human health, which can induce mitochondrial dysfunction and exacerbate the excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Among them, ONOO - level fluctuation was closely related to diabetes. Hence, it is of great significance to develop a near-infrared fluorescence probe for visualizing ONOO - level fluctuations in diabetes. In this paper, we constructed a fluorescence probe YBL with dicyano-isophorone derivative as fluorophore and diphenyl phosphate as ONOO - response site, which can detect ONOO - with the low detection limit (39.8 nM) and exhibit excellent selectivity and sensitivity. The probe YBL has been applied to monitor intracellular ONOO - level fluctuations. Meanwhile, the image results showed that high sugar promoted the increase of ONOO - level in cells. More important, the probe YBL can be used for imaging in mice, and the results showed that content of ONOO - was increased in diabetic mice. Background: ABO1020 is a monovalent COVID-19 mRNA vaccine. Results from a phase 1 trial showed ABO1020 was safe and well tolerated, and phase 3 trials to evaluate the efficacy, immunogenicity, and safety of ABO1020 in healthy adults are urgently needed., Methods: We conducted a multinational, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind, phase 3 trial among healthy adults (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT05636319). Participants were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive either 2 doses of ABO1020 (15 μg per dose) or placebo, administered 28 days apart. The primary endpoint was the vaccine efficacy in preventing symptomatic COVID-19 cases that occurred at least 14 days post-full vaccination. The second endpoint included the neutralizing antibody titers against Omicron BA.5 and XBB and safety assessments., Findings: A total of 14,138 participants were randomly assigned to receive either vaccine or placebo (7,069 participants in each group). A total of 366 symptomatic COVID-19 cases were confirmed 14 days after the second dose among 93 participants in the ABO1020 group and 273 participants in the placebo group, yielding a vaccine efficacy of 66.18% (95% confidence interval: 57.21-73.27, p < 0.0001). A single dose or two doses of ABO1020 elicited potent neutralizing antibodies against both BA.5 and XBB.1.5. Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, the cross section of the inclusive process e^{+}e^{-}→η+X, normalized by the total cross section of e^{+}e^{-}→hadrons, is measured at eight center-of-mass energy points from 2.0000 to 3.6710 GeV. These are the first measurements with momentum dependence in this energy region. Our measurement shows a significant discrepancy compared to the existing fragmentation functions. To address this discrepancy, a new QCD analysis is performed at the next-to-next-to-leading order with hadron mass corrections and higher twist effects, which can explain both the established high-energy data and our measurements reasonably well.

Although evidence-based interventions can reduce the incidence of central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI), there is a large gap between evidence-based interventions and the actual practice of central venous catheter (CVC) care. Evidence-based interventions are needed to reduce the incidence of CLABSI in intensive care units (ICU) in China. Professional association, guidelines, and database websites were searched for data relevant to CLABSI in the adult ICUs from inception to February 2020. Checklists were developed for both CVC placement and maintenance. Based on the Integrated Promoting Action on Research Implementation in Health Services framework, a questionnaire collected the cognition and practice of ICU nursing and medical staff on the CLABSI evidence-based prevention guidelines. From January 2018 to December 2021, ICU CLABSI rates were collected monthly. Ten clinical guidelines were included after the screening and evaluation process and used to develop the best evidence-based protocols for CVC placement and maintenance. The CLABSI rates in 2018, 2019, and 2020 were 2.98‰ (9/3021), 1.83‰ (6/3276), and 1.69‰ (4/2364), respectively. Notably, the CLABSI rate in 2021 was 0.38‰ (1/2607). In other words, the ICU CLABSI rate decreased from 1.69‰ to 0.38‰ after implementation of the new protocols. Additionally, our data suggested that the use of ultrasound-guidance for catheter insertion, chlorhexidine body wash, and the use of a checklist for CVC placement and maintenance were important measures for reducing the CLABSI rate. Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess the potential application of a radiomics features-based nomogram for predicting therapeutic responses to neoadjuvant chemohormonal therapy (NCHT) in patients with high-risk non-metastatic prostate cancer (PCa)., Methods: Clinicopathologic information was retrospectively collected from 162 patients with high-risk non-metastatic PCa receiving NCHT and radical prostatectomy at our center. The postoperative pathological findings were used as the gold standard for evaluating the efficacy of NCHT. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) was conducted to develop radiomics signature. Multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify the predictors of a positive pathological response to NCHT, and a nomogram was constructed based on these predictors., Results: Sixty-three patients (38.89%) experienced positive pathological response to NCHT. Receiver operating characteristic analyses showed that the area under the curve (AUC) of periprostatic fat (PPF) radiomics signature was 0.835 (95% CI, 0.754-0.898), while the AUC of intratumoral radiomics signature was 0.822 (95% CI, 0.739-0.888). Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that PSA level, PPF radiomics signature and intratumoral radiomics signature were independent predictors of positive pathological response. A nomogram based on these three predictors was constructed. The AUC was 0.908 (95% CI, 0.839-0.954). The Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test showed that the nomogram was well calibrated. Decision curve analysis revealed the favorable clinical practicability of the nomogram. The nomogram was successfully validated in the validation cohort. Kaplan-Meier analyses showed that nomogram and positive pathological response were significantly related with survival of PCa., Conclusion: The radiomics-clinical nomogram based on mpMRI radiomics features exhibited superior predictive ability for positive pathological response to NCHT in high-risk non-metastatic PCa., (© 2024 The Author(s). Background: This meta-analysis evaluated the association of ABO blood type on central venous catheter-related thrombosis (CRT)., Methods: Data were derived from 8477 patients at Sichuan Cancer Hospital from January 2015 to December 2021 and articles previously published in Chinese and English databases. Data from our hospital were collected by reviewing electronic medical records. Searched databases included CNKI, VIP, Wan Fang, China Biomedical, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, EMBASE, CINAHL, and OVID (up to July 2023). All statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 22.0 and Revman 5.3. The Bonferroni method was used to adjust the α test level for reducing the risk of I errors in the multiple comparisons. A P-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Continuous variables were analyzed using a two-independent sample T test. The chi-squared test was used to analyze categorical data., Results: A total of 818 studies were identified in the search. However, only four studies met the inclusion criteria. Combined with data from our hospital, five studies were included with a total of 18407 cases. Those studies only focused on peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC). According to the data from our hospital, logistic regression revealed that myelosuppression [odds ratio (OR), 1.473; P = 0.005) and radiotherapy(OR, 1.524; P<0.001) were independent risk factors for symptomatic PICC- VTE. Blood types A (OR, 1.404; P = 0.008), B (OR, 1.393; P = 0.016), and AB (OR, 1.861; P<0.001) were associated with a significantly higher risk of symptomatic PICC-VTE than blood type O. And the hematologic tumor has a significantly higher risk of PICC-VTE than breast cancer (OR, 0.149; P < 0.001), and gynecological tumor (OR, 0.386; P = 0.002). In the meta-analysis of the association between ABO blood type and PICC related thrombosis, the I2 statistic was not significant in any of the pairwise comparisons, and a fixed-effects model was subsequently used for all analyses. The meta-analysis indicated that the incidence of symptomatic PICC related thrombosis was significantly lower in individuals with the O blood type (3.30%) than in those with the A (4.92%), B (5.20%), or AB (6.58%) blood types (all P < 0.0083). However, in the pairwise comparisons among A, B, and AB, the differences were nonsignificant (P > 0.0083)., Conclusions: According to the results from our single center analysis, we found that myelosuppression, radiotherapy, hematologic tumor, and non-O blood type were independent risk factors for symptomatic PICC related thrombosis. Immune checkpoint blockade therapy represented by programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) inhibitor for advanced renal carcinoma with an objective response rate (ORR) in patients is less than 20%. It is attributed to abundant tumoral vasculature with abnormal structure limiting effector T cell infiltration and drug penetration. We propose a bispecific fibrous glue (BFG) to regulate tumor immune and vascular microenvironments simultaneously. The bispecific precursor glue peptide-1 (pre-GP1) can penetrate tumor tissue deeply and self-assemble into BFG in the presence of neuropilin-1 (NRP-1) and PD-L1. The resultant fibrous glue is capable of normalizing tumoral vasculature as well as restricting immune escape. The pre-GP1 retains a 6-fold higher penetration depth than that of antibody in the multicellular spheroids (MCSs) model. It also shows remarkable tumor growth inhibition (TGI) from 19% to 61% in a murine advanced large tumor model compared to the clinical combination therapy. In addition, in the orthotopic renal tumor preclinical model, the lung metastatic nodules are reduced by 64% compared to the clinically used combination. Background: Stroke is prevalent in hypertensive population. It has been suggested that unsaturated fatty acids (USFA) have protective effect on stroke. The effect of saturated fatty acids (SFAs) on stroke is still unclear. Therefore, we studied the relationship between circulating fatty acids and acute ischemic stroke (AIS) in hypertensive patients., Methods: Eighty-nine pairs including 100 men and 78 women matched by sex and age were recruited. Each pair included a hypertensive patient within 48h of AIS onset and a hypertensive patient without stroke. Six circulating fatty acids were methylated before concentration determination which was repeated twice with percent recovery estimated., Results: There were differences in educational level (P = 0.002) and occupation (P < 0.001) between stroke and non-stroke participants. All the 6 fatty acid levels were higher in non-stroke participants (P = 0.017 for palmitoleic acid, 0.001 for palmitic acid, <0.001 for linoleic acid, <0.001 for behenic acid, <0.001 for nervonic acid and 0.002 for lignoceric acid). In logistic regression analysis, AIS was inversely associated with fatty acid levels except for lignoceric acid. After adjustment for education and occupation, the palmitoleic acid and palmitic acid levels were no longer inversely associated with AIS. After further adjustment for systolic blood pressure, smoking, drinking, total cholesterol and triglyceride, the inverse associations of linoleic acid (OR = 0.965, 95%CI = 0.942-0.990, P = 0.005), behenic acid (OR = 0.778, 95%CI = 0.664-0.939, P = 0.009), nervonic acid (OR = 0.323, 95%CI = 0.121-0.860, P = 0.024) with AIS remained significant., Conclusions: Circulating fatty acids except lignoceric acid were inversely associated with AIS. Aim: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between serum indicators and high-throughput drug screening (HDS) results, aiming to achieve specific therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)., Methods: This study recruited patients with HCC who underwent surgical resection at the Hepatobiliary Surgery Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from December 2019 to December 2021. HCC tissues were obtained from patients during surgery and subjected to in vitro cell culture, and then HDS testing was performed on the cultured tissue samples. We used Spearman's correlation analysis to examine the relationships between drug sensitivity results for anti-hepatocellular carcinoma drugs, other antitumor drugs, and serological indicators, the Neutrophil Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), Platelet Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR), Systemic Immune Inflammatory Index (SII), Systemic Inflammatory Response Index (SIRI), Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI), and Lymphocyte Monocyte Ratio (LMR). A significant correlation was considered when P<0.05 and |r|>0.40. Furthermore, linear regression analysis was conducted to elucidate the relationship between serological indicators and drug susceptibility, with significant results indicated by P<0.05 and R²≥0.50., Results: In this study, 82 patients with HCC who had undergone hepatectomy and completed in vitro cell culture and HDS testing were evaluated. Using Spearman's correlation with a significance threshold of P<0.05 and |r|>0.40, we identified significant associations between serological indicators and specific drug regimens: NLR correlated with 5-Fluorouracil, 5- Fluorouracil+Calcium folinate (FOLFOX4), and Capecitabine + Cisplatin (XP); PLR with FOLFOX4; SII with XP, FOLFOX4, Doxorubicin + Oxaliplatin (ADM+L-OHP); and SIRI with XP and FOLFOX4. No correlations were found between PNI or LMR and any drug inhibition rates. A comprehensive evaluation using linear regression analysis-which included variables such as sex, age, hepatitis B virus and liver cirrhosis status, size and number of lesions, alphafetoprotein, total bilirubin, albumin, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, and prothrombin time, alongside NLR, PLR, SII, and SIRI was conducted in relation to drug regimens. This analysis revealed that NLR, SII, and SIRI are significant predictors of FOLFOX4 inhibition rate, while NLR predicts the inhibition rate of XP effectively. However, no significant links were established between molecular targeted drugs, other antitumor drugs, and serological indicators., Conclusions: NLR, SII, and SIRI were correlated with FOLFOX4, and the higher the values of NLR, SII, and SIRI, the higher the in vitro inhibition of FOLFOX. Background: In recent years, the trichomonosis in raccoon dogs in China had occurred frequently. Pentatrichomonas hominis had been described in raccoon dogs in China in some previous studies. PURPOSE TO REVEAL: whether raccoon dogs can be infected by other trichomonad species besides P. hominis, and clarify the prevalence and species distribution of trichomonad in raccoon dogs., Methods: Herein, the 389 fecal samples were collected from farm-raised raccoon dogs in Hebei Province, all the samples were detected using the microscopic examination and several fecal samples containing trichomonad-like organisms were processed, cultured, stained, and photographed. Meanwhile, all the samples were screened by the species-specific nested PCR based on the small subunit rRNA (SSU rRNA) gene of P. hominis,Tritrichomonas foetus and Tetratrichomonas buttreyi, respectively, and all positive secondary PCR amplications obtained in this study were sequenced, aligned and analysed., Results: 62 fecal samples (15.9%,62/389) were trichomonad-positive under light microscopy, and the trichomonad-like cells were clearly observed in the culture contents. The PCR results showed that 100 samples were trichomonad-positive, including 45 P. hominis-positive samples (11.6%,45/389), 32 T. foetus-positive samples (8.2%,32/389), and 33 T. buttreyi-positive samples (8.5%,33/389), respectively. Double mixed infections were observed in 10 samples. The prevalence of T. foetus and P. hominis were both significantly higher in raccoon dogs with diarrhea (13.9%, and 25.0%) than that in raccoon dogs without diarrhea (7.6%, and 9.3%) (p < 0.05).All samples confirmed as trichomonad-positive under microscopy were also found to be trichomonad-positive by PCR analysis. The sequencing and phylogenetic analysis demonstrated the sequences obtained in this study belonged to P. hominis, T. foetus and T. buttreyi SSU rRNA, respectively. Among them, the T. buttreyi SSU rRNA sequences obtained in this study harbored the new sequence polymorphisms. Based on preliminary morphological and molecular analyses, raccoon dogs are considered as the new host of T. foetus and T. buttreyi., Conclusion: This is the first report about the identifcation and prevalence of T. foetus and T. buttreyi in raccoon dogs in China, and the results increase our knowledge about the host range and prevalence of trichomonad species., (© 2024. Related studies have pointed out that Killer immunoglobulin-like receptor 2DL4 (KIR2DL4) was associated with vascular remodeling in early pregnancy, and it might play an important role in immunity. In this study, recurrent implantation failure (RIF)-related GSE58144 dataset was extracted from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. Firstly, the immune micro-environment analyses were conducted to analyze the pathogenesis of KIR2DL4 in RIF. Then, the gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) was performed to investigate the function of KIR2DL4. Moreover, the TF-mRNA-miRNA and the co-expression networks were constructed to reveal the potential regulation of KIR2DL4. Furthermore, the genes that were associated with KIR2DL4 and differentially expressed in RIF were obtained and defined as key genes, and the functions of these genes were further explored. KIR2DL4 could be used for clinical diagnosis of RIF, and it was correlated with the changes in the immune micro-environment in RIF. From the perspective of function, KIR2DL4 was associated with complement and coagulation cascades, natural killer cell-mediated cytotoxicity, etc. Moreover, the TF-mRNA-miRNA regulatory network was constructed with KIR2DL4, 9 TFs, and 29 miRNAs. Furthermore, KIR2DL4, ACSM1, IL2RB, and PTPN11 were screened as key genes, which were associated with immune-related functions. This study deeply analyzed the function of KIR2DL4 and its role in RIF, and we found that STAT1 might up-regulate KIR2DL4 by INF-γ/JAK2/STAT1 signaling pathway. Besides, over-expressed KIR2DL4 in the mid-luteal endometrium might influence embryo implantation by affecting the embryo implantation microenvironment, which might help deepen the understanding of the molecular mechanism of RIF., (© 2024. Using (10.087±0.044)×10^{9} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, the processes Λp→Λp and Λ[over ¯]p→Λ[over ¯]p are studied, where the Λ/Λ[over ¯] baryons are produced in the process J/ψ→ΛΛ[over ¯] and the protons are the hydrogen nuclei in the cooling oil of the beam pipe. Clear signals are observed for the two reactions. The cross sections in -0.9≤cosθ&#95;{Λ/Λ[over ¯]}≤0.9 are measured to be σ(Λp→Λp)=(12.2±1.6&#95;{stat}±1.1&#95;{syst}) and σ(Λ[over ¯]p→Λ[over ¯]p)=(17.5±2.1&#95;{stat}±1.6&#95;{syst})  mb at the Λ/Λ[over ¯] momentum of 1.074  GeV/c within a range of ±0.017  GeV/c, where the θ&#95;{Λ/Λ[over ¯]} are the scattering angles of the Λ/Λ[over ¯] in the Λp/Λ[over ¯]p rest frames. Furthermore, the differential cross sections of the two reactions are also measured, where there is a slight tendency of forward scattering for Λp→Λp, and a strong forward peak for Λ[over ¯]p→Λ[over ¯]p. We present an approach to extract the total elastic cross sections by extrapolation. The study of Λ[over ¯]p→Λ[over ¯]p represents the first study of antihyperon-nucleon scattering, and these new measurements will serve as important inputs for the theoretical understanding of the (anti)hyperon-nucleon interaction.

Purpose: Reproducibility and scale-up production of microspheres through spray drying present significant challenges. In this study, biodegradable microspheres of Triamcinolone Acetonide Acetate (TAA) were prepared using a novel static mixing method by employing poly( lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) as the sustained-release carrier., Methods: TAA-loaded microspheres (TAA-MSs) were prepared using a static mixing technique. The PLGA concentration, polyvinyl alcohol concentration (PVA), phase ratio of oil/water, and phase ratio of water/solidification were optimized in terms of the particle size, drug loading (DL), and encapsulation efficiency (EE) of TAA-MSs. The morphology of TAA-MSs was examined using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), while the physicochemical properties were evaluated through X-ray diffraction (XRD), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR). The in vitro release of TAA-MSs was compared to that of the pure drug (TAA) using a water-bath vibration method in the medium of pH 7.4 at 37°C., Results: The formulation composition and preparation condition for the preparation of TAA-MSs were optimized as follows: the PLGA concentration was 1%, the phase ratio of oil(dichloromethane) /water (PVA solution) was 1:3, the phase ratio of water (PVA solution)/solidification was 1:2. The optimized TAA-MSs displayed spherical particles with a size range of 30-70 μm, and DL and EE values of 27.09% and 98.67%, respectively. Moreover, the drug-loaded microspheres exhibited a significant, sustained release, with 20% of the drug released over a period of 28 days. The XRD result indicated that the crystalline form of TAA in microspheres had been partly converted into the amorphous form. Objectives: Systemic inflammation and skeletal muscle strength play crucial roles in the development and progression of cancer cachexia. In this study we aimed to evaluate the combined prognostic value of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and handgrip strength (HGS) for survival in patients with cancer cachexia., Methods: This multicenter cohort study involved 1826 patients with cancer cachexia. The NLR-HGS (NH) index was defined as the ratio of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio to handgrip strength. Harrell's C index and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis were used to assess the prognosis of NH. Kaplan-Meier analysis and Cox regression models were used to evaluate the association of NH with all-cause mortality., Results: Based on the optimal stratification, 380 women (NH > 0.14) and 249 men (NH > 0.19) were classified as having high NH. NH has shown greater predictive value compared to other indicators in predicting the survival of patients with cancer cachexia according to the 1-, 3-, and 5-y ROC analysis and Harrell's C index calculation. Multivariate survival analysis showed that higher NH was independently associated with an increased risk of death (hazard ratio = 1.654, 95% confidence interval = 1.389-1.969)., Conclusion: This study demonstrates that the NH index, in combination with NLR and HGS, is an effective predictor of the prognosis of patients with cancer cachexia. Purpose: To assess the value of orthogonal axial images (OAI) of MRI in gastric cancer T staging., Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 133 patients (median age, 63 [range, 24-85] years) with gastric adenocarcinoma who underwent both CT and MRI followed by surgery. MRI lacking or incorporating OAI and CT images were evaluated, respectively. Diagnostic performance (accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity) for each T stage, overall diagnostic accuracy and rates of over- and understaging were quantified employing pathological T stage as a reference standard. The McNemar's test was performed to compare the overall accuracy., Results: Among patients with pT1-pT4 disease, MRI with OAI (accuracy: 88.7-94.7%, sensitivity: 66.7-93.0%, specificity: 91.5-100.0%) exhibited superior diagnostic performance compared to MRI without OAI (accuracy: 81.2-88.7%, sensitivity: 46.2-83.1%, specificity: 85.5-99.1%) and CT (accuracy: 88.0-92.5%, sensitivity: 53.3-90.1%, specificity: 88.7-98.1%). The overall accuracy of MRI with OAI was significantly higher (83.5%) than that of MRI without OAI (67.7%) (p < .001). However, there was no significant difference in the overall accuracy of MRI with OAI and CT (78.9%) (p = .35). The over- and understaging rates of MRI with OAI (12.0, 4.5%) were lower than those of MRI without OAI (21.8, 10.5%) and CT (12.8, 8.3%)., Conclusion: OAI play a pivotal role in the T staging of gastric cancer. We report the measurement of the inclusive cross sections for e^{+}e^{-}→nOCH (where nOCH denotes non-open charm hadrons) with improved precision at center-of-mass (c.m.) energies from 3.645 to 3.871 GeV. We observe three resonances: R(3760), R(3780), and R(3810) with significances of 8.1σ, 13.7σ, and 8.8σ, respectively. The R(3810) state is observed for the first time, while the R(3760) and R(3780) states are observed for the first time in the nOCH cross sections. Two sets of resonance parameters describe the energy-dependent line shape of the cross sections well. In set I [set II], the R(3810) state has mass (3805.7±1.1±2.7) [(3805.7±1.1±2.7)]  MeV/c^{2}, total width (11.6±2.9±1.9) [(11.5±2.8±1.9)]  MeV, and an electronic width multiplied by the nOCH decay branching fraction of (10.9±3.8±2.5) [(11.0±3.4±2.5)]  eV. In addition, we measure the branching fractions B[R(3760)→nOCH]=(25.2±16.1±30.4)%[(6.4±4.8±7.7)%] and B[R(3780)→nOCH]=(12.3±6.6±8.3)%[(10.4±4.8±7.0)%] for the first time. The R(3760) state can be interpreted as an open-charm (OC) molecular state, but containing a simple four-quark state component. The R(3810) state can be interpreted as a hadrocharmonium state.

The T-cell receptor (TCR) is a crucial molecule in cellular immunity. The single-chain T-cell receptor (scTCR) is a potential format in TCR therapeutics because it eliminates the possibility of αβ-TCR mispairing. However, its poor stability and solubility impede the in vitro study and manufacturing of therapeutic applications. In this study, some conserved structural motifs are identified in variable domains regardless of germlines and species. Theoretical analysis helps to identify those unfavored factors and leads to a general strategy for stabilizing scTCRs by substituting residues at exact IMGT positions with beneficial propensities on the consensus sequence of germlines. Several representative scTCRs are displayed to achieve stability optimization and retain comparable binding affinities with the corresponding αβ-TCRs in the range of μM to pM. These results demonstrate that our strategies for scTCR engineering are capable of providing the affinity-enhanced and specificity-retained format, which are of great value in facilitating the development of TCR-related therapeutics.

Based on (10087±44)×10^{6}  J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector, a partial wave analysis of the decay J/ψ→γK&#95;{S}^{0}K&#95;{S}^{0}η^{'} is performed. The mass and width of the X(2370) are measured to be 2395±11(stat)&#95;{-94}^{+26}(syst)  MeV/c^{2} and 188&#95;{-17}^{+18}(stat)&#95;{-33}^{+124}(syst)  MeV, respectively. The corresponding product branching fraction is B[J/ψ→γX(2370)]×B[X(2370)→f&#95;{0}(980)η^{'}]×B[f&#95;{0}(980)→K&#95;{S}^{0}K&#95;{S}^{0}]=(1.31±0.22(stat)&#95;{-0.84}^{+2.85}(syst))×10^{-5}. The statistical significance of the X(2370) is greater than 11.7σ and the spin parity is determined to be 0^{-+} for the first time. The measured mass and spin parity of the X(2370) are consistent with the predictions of the lightest pseudoscalar glueball.

Background: The magnitude of potential benefits that hypothermic oxygenated perfusion (HOPE) may provide for liver transplantation (LT) patients compared to static cold storage (SCS) remains uncertain. In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we aimed to investigate the therapeutic effect that HOPE can offer LT recipients relative to SCS by synthesizing available evidence., Methods: A literature search was conducted in Embase, Medline, Web of Science, and the Cochrane database up to 1 June, 2023. The included studies were pooled for meta-analysis to synthesize their findings. Subgroup analysis was performed to investigate potential differences between HOPE and SCS for specific subgroups., Results: A total of 11 studies comprising 1765 patients were included. Compared with SCS, HOPE was associated with a significant reduction in the incidence of early allograft dysfunction (EAD) (OR: 0.36, 95% CI: 0.26-0.50), as well as a noteworthy decrease in graft loss rate within one year (OR: 0.57, 95% CI: 0.33-0.97) and a lower occurrence of Clavien-Dindo grade IIIa or higher complications (OR: 0.62, 95% CI: 0.43-0.89). Subgroup analysis revealed that HOPE significantly reduced the one-year mortality rate, any biliary complications incidence, and acute rejection of transplanted liver rate in patients who received organs from donation after cardiac death (DCD)., Conclusions: HOPE has demonstrated efficacy in reducing the incidence of EAD after LT and shows some potential in diminishing postoperative complications such as biliary complications and acute rejection. Objectives: To evaluate the identification of tumor deposits (TDs) and the prognostic significance of an MRI tumor regression grade for TDs in patients with rectal cancer treated with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT)., Methods: Ninety-one patients with cT3 or cT4 rectal cancer who underwent surgery following nCRT between August 2014 and June 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. Changes in pre-nCRT MRI-detected TDs (mrTDs) were described as mrTD regression grade. The diagnostic performance of post-nCRT MRI-detected TDs (ymrTDs) was compared with histopathological reference standard. The correlation between ymrTDs, mrTD regression grade, and disease-free survival (DFS) was assessed., Results: The sensitivity and specificity of ymrTDs were 88.00% and 89.39%, respectively. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.887 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.803-0.944). The 3-year DFS of patients with positive ymrTDs was significantly lower than of the negative group (44.83% vs 82.73%, p < 0.001). The 3-year DFS was 33.33% for patients with poor regression of mrTDs following nCRT and 55.56% for those with moderate regression, compared to 69.23% in good responders and 83.97% in patients without mrTDs (p < 0.001). On multivariable Cox regression, mrTD regression grade was the only independent MRI factor associated with DFS (p = 0.042)., Conclusions: Diagnostic performance of ymrTDs was moderate. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a major cause of liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma, with HBV surface antigen (HBsAg) being a crucial marker in the clinical detection of HBV. Due to the significant harm and ease of transmission associated with HBV, HBsAg testing has become an essential part of preoperative assessments, particularly for emergency surgeries where healthcare professionals face exposure risks. Therefore, a timely and accurate detection method for HBsAg is urgently needed. In this study, a surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensor with a sandwich structure was developed for HBsAg detection. Leveraging the ultrasensitive and rapid detection capabilities of SERS, this sensor enables quick detection results, significantly reducing waiting times. By systematically optimizing critical factors in the detection process, such as the composition and concentration of the incubation solution as well as the modification conditions and amount of probe particles, the sensitivity of the SERS immune assay system was improved. Ultimately, the sensor achieved a sensitivity of 0.00576 IU/mL within 12 min, surpassing the clinical requirement of 0.05 IU/mL by an order of magnitude. In clinical serum assay validation, the issue of false positives was effectively addressed by adding a blocker. The final sensor demonstrated 100% specificity and sensitivity at the threshold of 0.05 IU/mL. Therefore, this study not only designed an ultrasensitive SERS sensor for detecting HBsAg in actual clinical serum samples but also provided theoretical support for similar systems, filling the knowledge gap in existing literature.

We present measurements of the Born cross sections for the processes e^{+}e^{-}→ωχ&#95;{c1} and ωχ&#95;{c2} at center-of-mass energies sqrt[s] from 4.308 to 4.951 GeV. The measurements are performed with data samples corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 11.0  fb^{-1} collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider storage ring. Assuming the e^{+}e^{-}→ωχ&#95;{c2} signals come from a single resonance, the mass and width are determined to be M=(4413.6±9.0±0.8)  MeV/c^{2} and Γ=(110.5±15.0±2.9)  MeV, respectively, which is consistent with the parameters of the well-established resonance ψ(4415). In addition, we also use one single resonance to describe the e^{+}e^{-}→ωχ&#95;{c1} line shape and determine the mass and width to be M=(4544.2±18.7±1.7)  MeV/c^{2} and Γ=(116.1±33.5±1.7)  MeV, respectively. The structure of this line shape, observed for the first time, requires further understanding.

Using a sample of (10087±44)×10^{6}  J/ψ events, which is about 45 times larger than that was previously analyzed, a further investigation on the J/ψ→γ3(π^{+}π^{-}) decay is performed. A significant distortion at 1.84  GeV/c^{2} in the line shape of the 3(π^{+}π^{-}) invariant mass spectrum is observed for the first time, which could be resolved by two overlapping resonant structures, X(1840) and X(1880). The new state X(1880) is observed with a statistical significance larger than 10σ. The mass and width of X(1880) are determined to be 1882.1±1.7±0.7  MeV/c^{2} and 30.7±5.5±2.4  MeV, respectively, which indicates the existence of a pp[over ¯] bound state.

We perform a study of the χ&#95;{c1}(3872) line shape using the data samples of e^{+}e^{-}→γχ&#95;{c1}(3872), χ&#95;{c1}(3872)→D^{0}D[over ¯]^{0}π^{0}, and π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ collected with the BESIII detector. The effects of the coupled channels and the off-shell D^{*0} are included in the parametrization of the line shape. The line shape mass parameter is obtained to be M&#95;{X}=(3871.63±0.13&#95;{-0.05}^{+0.06})  MeV. Two poles are found on the first and second Riemann sheets corresponding to the D^{*0}D[over ¯]^{0} branch cut. The pole location on the first sheet is much closer to the D^{*0}D[over ¯]^{0} threshold than the other, and is determined to be 7.04±0.15&#95;{-0.08}^{+0.07}  MeV above the D^{0}D[over ¯]^{0}π^{0} threshold with an imaginary part -0.19±0.08&#95;{-0.19}^{+0.14}  MeV.

Using e^{+}e^{-} collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.33  fb^{-1} recorded by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226 GeV, we present an analysis of the decay D&#95;{s}^{+}→π^{+}π^{-}e^{+}ν&#95;{e}, where the D&#95;{s}^{+} is produced via the process e^{+}e^{-}→D&#95;{s}^{*±}D&#95;{s}^{∓}. We observe the f&#95;{0}(980) in the π^{+}π^{-} system and the branching fraction of the decay D&#95;{s}^{+}→f&#95;{0}(980)e^{+}ν&#95;{e} with f&#95;{0}(980)→π^{+}π^{-} measured to be (1.72±0.13&#95;{stat}±0.10&#95;{syst})×10^{-3}, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The dynamics of the D&#95;{s}^{+}→f&#95;{0}(980)e^{+}ν&#95;{e} decay are studied with the simple pole parametrization of the hadronic form factor and the Flatté formula describing the f&#95;{0}(980) in the differential decay rate, and the product of the form factor f&#95;{+}^{f&#95;{0}}(0) and the c→s Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |V&#95;{cs}| is determined for the first time to be f&#95;{+}^{f&#95;{0}}(0)|V&#95;{cs}|=0.504±0.017&#95;{stat}±0.035&#95;{syst}. Furthermore, the decay D&#95;{s}^{+}→f&#95;{0}(500)e^{+}ν&#95;{e} is searched for the first time but no signal is found. The upper limit on the branching fraction of D&#95;{s}^{+}→f&#95;{0}(500)e^{+}ν&#95;{e}, f&#95;{0}(500)→π^{+}π^{-} decay is set to be 3.3×10^{-4} at 90% confidence level.

We perform for the first time an amplitude analysis of the decay D^{+}→K&#95;{S}^{0}π^{+}η and report the observation of the decay D^{+}→K&#95;{S}^{0}a&#95;{0}(980)^{+} using 2.93  fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} collision data taken at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. As the only W-annihilation-free decay among D to a&#95;{0}(980) pseudoscalar, D^{+}→K&#95;{S}^{0}a&#95;{0}(980)^{+} is the ideal decay in extracting the contributions of the W-emission amplitudes involving a&#95;{0}(980) and to study the final-state interactions. The absolute branching fraction of D^{+}→K&#95;{S}^{0}π^{+}η is measured to be (1.27±0.04&#95;{stat}±0.03&#95;{syst})%. The branching fractions of intermediate processes D^{+}→K&#95;{S}^{0}a&#95;{0}(980)^{+} with a&#95;{0}(980)^{+}→π^{+}η and D^{+}→π^{+}K[over ¯]&#95;{0}^{*}(1430)^{0} with K[over ¯]&#95;{0}^{*}(1430)^{0}→K&#95;{S}^{0}η are measured to be (1.33±0.05&#95;{stat}±0.04&#95;{syst})% and (0.14±0.03&#95;{stat}±0.01&#95;{syst})%, respectively.

Using (10087±44)×10^{6}  J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector, numerous Ξ^{-} and Λ decay asymmetry parameters are simultaneously determined from the process J/ψ→Ξ^{-}Ξ[over ¯]^{+}→Λ(pπ^{-})π^{-}Λ[over ¯](n[over ¯]π^{0})π^{+} and its charge-conjugate channel. The precisions of α&#95;{Λ0} for Λ→nπ^{0} and α[over ¯]&#95;{Λ0} for Λ[over ¯]→n[over ¯]π^{0} compared to world averages are improved by factors of 4 and 1.7, respectively. The ratio of decay asymmetry parameters of Λ→nπ^{0} to that of Λ→pπ^{-}, ⟨α&#95;{Λ0}⟩/⟨α&#95;{Λ-}⟩, is determined to be 0.873±0.012&#95;{-0.010}^{+0.011}, where the first and the second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The ratio is smaller than unity more than 5σ, which signifies the existence of the ΔI=3/2 transition in Λ for the first time. Besides, we test for CP symmetry in Ξ^{-}→Λπ^{-} and in Λ→nπ^{0} with the best precision to date.
