An automatic blood cell analyzer was adopted to detect the neutrophil count (NC), lymphocyte count (LC), and number of platelets (PLT) in the whole blood of the subjects in both groups, and the NLR and PLR were calculated. Electrocardiography was conducted on the subjects in both groups to detect whether any abnormality existed in the ST segment. The receiver operating curve (ROC) was used to evaluate the diagnostic value of each indicator of CSX, and multivariate logistic regression analysis was adopted for the analysis of the influencing factors.Results: No significant differences existed in age, gender, smoking history, or family history of diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and tumors between the two groups (p > 0.05). When compared with the control group, the NC, PLT, NLR, PLR, and rate of abnormality of the ST segment on the electrocardiogram were significantly higher, and the LC was significantly lower in the CSX group (p < 0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the ST-segment abnormality (3.95 [2.10∼ 7.41]; NLR > 2.21, 3.46 [1.87∼ 6.39]; and PLR > 119.77, 3.66 [1.99∼ 6.73]) was a correlated risk factor for the occurrence of CSX (p < 0.05).Conclusion: Both the NLR and PLR in patients with CSX were significantly elevated, and both have a certain predictive value for the occurrence of CSX and are expected to be effective biomarkers for CSX.Keywords: cardiac syndrome X, neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio, platelet to lymphocyte ratio, correlation analysis, inflammation

The experimental group included patients with LVH-accompanied HT who were treated in the People’s Hospital of Hebei Province between November 2019 and November 2020, the observation group included patients with HT unaccompanied by LVH, and the control group included healthy age and gender-matched subjects who underwent health examinations in our physical examination center. The cardiac echocardiography, 24-h Holter electrocardiogram, and circulating miR-365 levels in all subjects were measured. The differences in circulating miR-365 expression levels among the three groups were compared, and the correlations between the miR-365 expression levels and the blood pressure parameters (24-h mean systolic blood pressure [SBP] and 24-h mean diastolic blood pressure [DBP]), inter-ventricular septal thickness (IVST), left ventricular posterior wall thickness (LVPWT), left ventricular internal diameter (LVID), left ventricular mass (LVM), LVM index (LVMI), and LVH-related indicators were analyzed.Results: The relative miR-365 expressions in the experimental, observation, and control groups were 2.08 (1.60, 2.34), 0.62 (0.44, 0.83), and 0.66 (0.35, 0.86), respectively. Patient miR-365 expression was significantly higher in the experimental group than in the observation group and the control group; the differences were statistically significant (p < 0.000). Furthermore, miR-365 expression was significantly correlated with SBP, DBP, IVST, LVPWT, LVID, LVM, and LVMI; the greatest correlation was with LVMI. Further univariate linear regression analysis revealed that miR-365 expression was linearly and positively correlated with LVMI and that miRNA-365 expression increased with the LVMI value.Conclusion: The miR-365 serum expression in patients with LVH-accompanied HT was increased compared with the observation group and the control group and positively correlated with the LVH degree.Keywords: essential hypertension, left ventricular hypertrophy, RT-PCR, microRNA

Evidence suggests that sex differences in response to cocaine administration may be regulated by activation of progesterone and estrogen receptors. To test this hypothesis, rats were pretreated with either RU 486 (progesterone antagonist; 0, 3, or 25 mg/kg), tamoxifen (estrogen antagonist; 0, 1, or 3 mg/kg), or vehicle followed by saline or cocaine administration (15 mg/kg). Although RU 486 did not affect cocaine-induced locomotor activity in female rats, it dose-dependently decreased such activity in males (3 mg/kg significantly attenuated locomotor responses in cocaine-treated rats as compared with vehicle treatment or 25 mg/kg of RU 486). RU 486 also affected baseline serum levels of corticosterone. Males treated with 3 mg/kg of RU 486 plus cocaine had higher progesterone and corticosterone serum levels than vehicle-treated groups. In females, both doses (3 and 25 mg/kg) of RU 486 significantly attenuated corticosterone serum levels compared with vehicle treatment. For both sexes overall, tamoxifen neither significantly influenced cocaine-induced ambulatory and rearing responses nor altered cocaine-induced progesterone and corticosterone serum levels. Taken together, our results suggest that progesterone receptors have a sexually dimorphic role in cocaine-induced effects, but estrogen receptors have only a limited role. Renewable-driven electrocatalytic nitrate conversion offers a promising alternative to alleviate nitrate pollution and simultaneously harvest green ammonia. However, due to the complex proton-electron transfer processes, the reaction mechanism remains elusive, thereby limiting energy efficiency. Here, we adopt Ni(OH)₂ as a model catalyst to investigate the dynamic evolution of the reaction interface. A proposed OH cycle mechanism involves the formation of a locally OH-enriched microenvironment to promote the hydrogenation process, which is identified through in-situ spectroscopy and isotopic labelling. By further activating the dynamic state through the implementation of surface vacancies via plasma, we achieve a high Faradaic efficiency of almost 100%. The activated interface accelerates the OH cycle by enhancing dehydroxylation, water dissociation, and OH adsorption, thereby promoting nitrate electroreduction and inhibiting hydrogen evolution. Hydrogen (H 2 ) has emerged as a highly promising energy carrier owing to its remarkable energy density and carbon emission-free properties. However, the widespread application of H 2 fuel has been limited by the difficulty of storage. In this work, spontaneous electrochemical hydrogen production is demonstrated using hydrazine (N 2 H 4 ) as a liquid hydrogen storage medium and enabled by a highly active Co catalyst for hydrazine electrooxidation reaction (HzOR). The HzOR electrocatalyst is developed by a self-limited growth of Co nanoparticles from a Co-based zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF), exhibiting abundant defective surface atoms as active sites for HzOR. Notably, these self-limited Co nanoparticles exhibit remarkable HzOR activity with a negative working potential of -0.1 V (at 10 mA cm -2 ) in 0.1 m N 2 H 4 /1 m KOH electrolyte. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations are employed to validate the superior performance of low-coordinated Co active sites in facilitating HzOR. By taking advantage of the potential difference between HzOR and the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), a novel HzOR||HER electrochemical system is developed to spontaneously produce H 2 without external energy input. Overall, the work offers valuable guidance for developing active HzOR catalyst. Electrocatalytic CO 2 reduction (ECO 2 R) has been considered as a promising approach to convert CO 2 into valuable chemicals and fuels. CO 2 loss in conventional alkaline electrolyzers has been recognized as a major obstacle that compromising the efficiency of the ECO 2 R system. This review firstly conducts an in-depth assessment of the origin and influence of CO 2 loss. On this basis, this work summarizes electrolyzer configurations based on novel material and structure design that are capable of tackling CO 2 loss, including acidic electrolyzer, bipolar membrane (BPM) derived electrolyzer, cascade electrolyzer, liquid-phase-anode electrolyzer, and liquid-fed electrolyzer. The design strategies and challenges of these carbon efficient electrolyzers have been deliberated in detail. By comparing and analyzing the advantages and limitations of various electrolyzer designs, this work aims to provide some guidelines for the development of efficient ECO 2 R technology toward large-scale industrial application., (© 2024 Wiley‐VCH GmbH.)

Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological features of Crooke cell tumor of adrenocorticotropic hormone differentiation specific transcription factor (TPIT, also known as transcription factor 19, TBX19) lineage neuroendocrine tumors. Methods: Six cases of Crooke cell tumor diagnosed at the First Affiliated Hospital of University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China from October 2019 to October 2023 were collected. The clinical and pathological features of these cases were analyzed. Results: Among the six cases, one was male and five were female, with ages ranging from 26 to 75 years, and an average age of 44 years. All tumors occurred within the sella turcica. Clinical presentations included visual impairment in two cases, menstrual disorders in one case, Cushing's syndrome in one case, headache in one case, and one asymptomatic case discovered during a physical examination. Preoperative serum analyses revealed elevated levels of cortisol and adrenocorticotropic hormones in two cases, elevated cortisol in two cases, elevated adrenocorticotropic hormone in one case, and one case with a mild increase in prolactin due to the pituitary stalk effect. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed uneven enhancement of masses with maximum diameters ranging from 1.7 to 3.2 cm, all identified as macroadenomas. Microscopically, tumor cells exhibited irregular polygonal shapes, solid sheets, or pseudo-papillary arrangements around blood vessels. The cell nuclei were eccentric or centrally located, varying in size, with abundant cytoplasm. Some tumor cells showed perinuclear halo. Immunohistochemistry demonstrated diffuse strong positivity for TPIT in five cases, focal weak positivity for TPIT in one case, diffuse strong positivity for adrenocorticotropic hormone in all cases, and faint staining around the nuclei in a few cells. CK8/18 showed a strong positive ring pattern in more than 50% of tumor cells, focal weak positive expression of p53, and the Ki-67 positive index ranged 1%-5%. Periodic acid-Schiff staining revealed positive cytoplasm and negative perinuclear areas. Conclusions: Crooke cell tumor is a rare type of pituitary neuroendocrine tumors. Its pathological characteristics include a distinctive perinuclear clear zone and immunohistochemical markers, such as CK8/18 exhibiting a ring or halo pattern. This entity represents a high-risk subtype among pituitary neuroendocrine tumors, displaying a high risk of invasion and a propensity for recurrence. Accurate diagnosis is crucial for the postoperative follow-up and multimodal treatment planning.

Background: Conventional five-port laparoscopic surgery, the current standard treatment for colorectal carcinoma (CRC), has many disadvantages., Aim: To assess the influence of reduced-port laparoscopic surgery (RPLS) on perioperative indicators, postoperative recovery, and serum inflammation indexes in patients with CRC., Methods: The study included 115 patients with CRC admitted between December 2019 and May 2023, 52 of whom underwent conventional five-port laparoscopic surgery (control group) and 63 of whom underwent RPLS (research group). Comparative analyses were performed on the following dimensions: Perioperative indicators [operation time (OT), incision length, intraoperative blood loss (IBL), and rate of conversion to laparotomy], postoperative recovery (first postoperative exhaust, bowel movement and oral food intake, and bowel sound recovery time), serum inflammation indexes [high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and interleukin-6 (IL-6)], postoperative complications (anastomotic leakage, incisional infection, bleeding, ileus), and therapeutic efficacy., Results: The two groups had comparable OTs and IBL volumes. However, the research group had a smaller incision length; lower rates of conversion to laparotomy and postoperative total complication; and shorter time of first postoperative exhaust, bowel movement, oral food intake, and bowel sound recovery; all of which were significant. Furthermore, hs-CRP, IL-6, and TNF-α levels in the research group were significantly lower than the baseline and those of the control group, and the total effective rate was higher., Conclusion: RPLS exhibited significant therapeutic efficacy in CRC, resulting in a shorter incision length and a lower conversion rate to laparotomy, while also promoting postoperative recovery, effectively inhibiting the inflammatory response, and reducing the risk of postoperative complications., Competing Interests: Conflict-of-interest statement: Dr. Cao has nothing to disclose., (©The Author(s) 2024. Resonant exchange of the chiral Majorana fermions (MFs) that is coupled to two parallel Majorana zero modes (MZMs) or two parallel quantum dots (QDs) is investigated. We find that, in the two QDs coupling case, the resonant exchange for the chiral MFs is analogous to that in the MZM coupling case. We further propose a circuit based on topological superconductor, which is formed by the proximity coupling of a quantum anomalous Hall insulator and a s-wave superconductor, to observe the resonant exchange of chiral MFs pairs. The numerical calculations show that the resonant transmission of the chiral MFs can be adjusted by varying the coupling parameters at superconductor phase differenceΔφ=π. It is particularly noteworthy that, by only modulating the coupling strength between the two QDs, the resonant exchange may be switched on or off. By adding another MZM, the non-Abelian braiding like operation can be realized. Background: Multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria, exacerbated by excessive use of antimicrobials and immunosuppressants, are a major health threat., Aim: To study the clinical efficacy and safety of colistin sulfate in the treatment of carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative bacilli-induced pneumonia, and to provide theoretical reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment., Methods: This retrospective analysis involved 54 patients with Gram-negative bacilli pneumonia admitted to intensive care unit of The General Hospital of the Northern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army of China from August 2020 to June 2022. After bacteriological culture, the patients' airway secretions were collected to confirm the presence of Gram-negative bacilli. The patients were divided into the experimental and control groups according to the medication used. The research group consisted of 28 patients who received polymyxin sulfate combined with other drugs through intravenous, nebulization, or intravenous combined with nebulization, with a daily dosage of 1.5-3.0 million units. The control group consisted of 26 patients who received standard dosages of other antibiotics (including sulbactam sodium for injection, cefoperazone sodium sulbactam for injection, tigecycline, meropenem, or vaborbactam)., Results: Of the 28 patients included in the research group, 26 patients showed improvement, treatment was ineffective for two patients, and one patient died, with the treatment efficacy rate of 92.82%. Of the 26 patients in the control group, 18 patients improved, treatment was ineffective for eight patients, and two patients died, with the treatment efficacy rate of 54.9%; significant difference was observed between the two groups ( P < 0.05). The levels of white blood cell (WBC), procalcitonin (PCT), and C-reactive protein (CRP) in both groups were significantly lower after treatment than before treatment ( P < 0.05), and the levels of WBC, PCT, and CRP in the research group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( P < 0.05). Compared with before treatment, there were no significant changes in aspartate aminotransferase, creatinine, and glomerular filtration rate in both groups, while total bilirubin and alanine aminotransferase decreased after treatment ( P < 0.05) with no difference between the groups. In patients with good clinical outcomes, the sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) score was low when treated with inhaled polymyxin sulfate, and specific antibiotic treatment did not improve the outcome. Sepsis and septic shock as well as a low SOFA score were independent factors associated with good clinical outcomes., Conclusion: Polymyxin sulfate has a significant effect on the treatment of patients with multiple drug-resistant Gram-negative bacilli pneumonia and other infections in the lungs and is safe and reliable. Understanding the effects of food waste biogas residue composting and chemical amendments on soil aggregates composition of different particle sizes, stability, and organic matter distribution in relocation sites could provide primary data for improving soil quality and land utilization of food waste biogas residue composting. We analyzed the characteristics of soil aggregates distribution, stability of aggregates, and organic matter content in different particle sizes under treatments with different application amounts of food waste biogas residue composting, chemical amendments (β-cyclodextrin, calcium sulfate and ferric oxide were mixed at a mass ratio of 1:1:1), and control (100% soil). The results showed that 20% (soil: biogas residue composting=8:2) and 30% (soil: biogas residue composting =7:3) biogas residue composting significantly decreased the micro-aggregates content with the particle size of <0.106 mm and increased the large aggregates content with the particle size of 0.5-1.0 mm. All treatments significantly increased large aggregates content with the particle size of ≥2.0 mm, soil aggregate structure content, and mean weight diameter, but reduced the percentage of aggregate destruction. Among all the treatments, the effect of mixes application of 20% biogas residue composting and chemical amendments was the best. Biogas residue composting treatments significantly affected the distribution of organic matter in soil aggregates, with the strongest effect under 30% biogas residue composting treatment. Biogas residue composting treatments significantly increased soil organic matter content in all aggregates, with the maximal increase of organic matter content in soil micro-aggregates with the particle size of 0.106-0.25 mm. In conclusion, biogas residue composting could increase organic matter content of soil aggregates in different particle sizes, promote the formation of large soil aggregates, and improve the stability of aggregation. Specifically, the mixed application of biogas residue composting and chemical amendments performed better on soil improvement in relocation site.

Periprosthetic joint infections (PJIs) pose a significant challenge in orthopedic surgery, particularly total joint arthroplasty (TJA), due to the potential for implant failure and increased patient morbidity. Early and accurate detection of PJIs is crucial for timely intervention and better patient prognosis. Herein, we successfully screened a high-affinity aptamer targeting alpha-defensin complex human neutrophil protein 1-3 (HNP 1-3; potential PJI biomarkers in synovial fluid [SF]) for the first time using systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (SELEX) on an integrated microfluidic platform. The compact microfluidic device enabled efficient screening, with each round completed within <2 h, comprising five rounds of positive selection, two rounds of negative selection, and one round of competitive selection. A novel one-aptamer-one-antibody assay was further developed from the optimal aptamer screened, and it could accurately quantify HNP 1-3 in SF within 3 h with only ∼50 μL of SF. The assay demonstrated strong binding affinity and specificity for the target protein in SF. Thirteen PJI SF samples were accurately diagnosed and the assay was accurate over a wide dynamic range (0.32-100 mg/L). This study has showcased a rapid and accurate diagnostic tool for PJI detection, which should see widespread use in the clinic, holding promise for potential analytical applications in orthopedic surgery and improving patient care.

To study the effect of internal particle size on the microstructure properties and thermal decomposition characteristics of site mixed emulsion explosive at different altitudes. Site mixed emulsion explosive was prepared with different shear rate. The particle size, viscosity, sensitized bubbles, detonation velocity and peak pressure of the emulsion explosive were tested after stored at different simulated altitudes. The thermal decomposition characteristics of emulsion matrix prepared at three different rotational speeds were measured by thermogravimetric analyzer and kinetic analysis was performed by non-isothermal model Kissinger-Akah-Sunose (KAS) method. The results show that with the increase in altitude, the internal phase size showed a trend of first increasing and then decreasing, and the number of sensitized bubbles within the emulsion explosive decreases. At an altitude of 0 m, the detonation velocity and peak overpressure of the emulsion explosive prepared by 1600 r min -1 increased 4.78% and 29.09%, respectively compared with 1200 r min -1 , and at an altitude of 4500 m, the detonation velocity increased 11.87%, the peak overpressure increased 43.98%. The thermal decomposition activation energy of the emulsion matrix at 1600 r min -1 increased 13.14% compared to 1200 r min -1 . It shows that in the production of site mixed emulsion explosive at high altitude, reducing the particle size of the internal phase of emulsion explosives in a certain range can effectively improve the performance of emulsion explosives., (© 2024. Background: The selection of a correct level in lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) remains a common problem and is critically important to the effectiveness of this surgical treatment. Surgery is invasive, and extended laminectomy may lead to secondary surgical complications. The application of diffuse tensor imagining (DTI) and paraspinal mapping (PM) in addition to conventional magnetic resonance imaging (cMRI) may be helpful in this respect. However, the superiority of cMRI + DTI over cMRI+ (DTI or PM) in reducing decompression has not yet been established., Methods: We compared the surgical levels, determined by cMRI + DTI and cMRI+ (DTI or PM) (self-control). Treatment outcome measurements were performed at two weeks, three months, six months, and twelve months postoperatively., Results: The surgical levels determined by cMRI ± DTI showed less than that determined by cMRI± (DTI or PM) with statistically significant differences (p value = 0.0199) and cMRI ± PM with no statistically significant differences ( p value = 0.5503)., Conclusions: The effectiveness of cMRI ± DTI in the reduction of the surgical levels in degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis is superior than that of cMRI± (DTI or PM).

Host-virus interactions can significantly impact the viral life cycle and pathogenesis; however, our understanding of the specific host factors involved in highly pathogenic avian influenza A virus H7N9 (HPAI H7N9) infection is currently restricted. Herein, we designed and synthesized 65 small interfering RNAs targeting host genes potentially associated with various aspects of RNA virus life cycles. Afterward, HPAI H7N9 viruses were isolated and RNA interference was used to screen for host factors likely to be involved in the life cycle of HPAI H7N9. Moreover, the research entailed assessing the associations between host proteins and HPAI H7N9 proteins. Twelve key host proteins were identified: Annexin A (ANXA)2, ANXA5, adaptor related protein complex 2 subunit sigma 1 (AP2S1), adaptor related protein complex 3 subunit sigma 1 (AP3S1), ATP synthase F1 subunit alpha (ATP5A1), COPI coat complex subunit alpha (COP)A, COPG1, heat shock protein family A (Hsp70) member 1A (HSPA)1A, HSPA8, heat shock protein 90 alpha family class A member 1 (HSP90AA1), RAB11B, and RAB18. Co-immunoprecipitation revealed intricate interactions between viral proteins (hemagglutinin, matrix 1 protein, neuraminidase, nucleoprotein, polymerase basic 1, and polymerase basic 2) and these host proteins, presumably playing a crucial role in modulating the life cycle of HPAI H7N9. Notably, ANXA5, AP2S1, AP3S1, ATP5A1, HSP90A1, and RAB18, were identified as novel interactors with HPAI H7N9 proteins rather than other influenza A viruses (IAVs). These findings underscore the significance of host-viral protein interactions in shaping the dynamics of HPAI H7N9 infection, while highlighting subtle variations compared with other IAVs. The electrochemical conversion of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) into ethanol with high added value has attracted increasing attention. Here, an efficient catalyst with abundant Cu 2 O/Ag interfaces for ethanol production under pulsed CO 2 electrolysis is reported, which is composed of Cu 2 O hollow nanospheres loaded with Ag nanoparticles (named as se-Cu 2 O/Ag). The CO 2 -to-ethanol Faradaic efficiency is prominently improved to 46.3% at a partial current density up to 417 mA cm -2 under pulsed electrolysis conditions in a neutral flow cell, notably outperforming conventional Cu catalysts during static electrolysis. In situ spectroscopy reveals the stabilized Cu + species of se-Cu 2 O/Ag during pulsed electrolysis and the enhanced adsorbed CO intermediate ( * CO)coverage on the heterostructured catalyst. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations further confirm that the Cu 2 O/Ag heterostructure stabilizes the * CO intermediate and promotes the coupling of * CO and adsorbed CH intermediate ( * CH). Meanwhile, the stable Cu + species under pulsed electrolysis favor the hydrogenation of adsorbed HCCOH intermediate ( * HCCOH) to adsorbed HCCHOH intermediate ( * HCCHOH) on the pathway to ethanol. The synergistic effect between the enhanced generation of * CO on Cu 2 O/Ag and regenerated Cu + species under pulsed electrolysis steers the reaction pathway toward ethanol. Quasi-solid electrolytes (QSEs) based on nanoporous materials are promising candidates to construct high-performance Li-metal batteries (LMBs). However, simultaneously boosting the ionic conductivity (σ) and lithium-ion transference number (t + ) of liquid electrolyte confined in porous matrix remains challenging. Herein, we report a novel Janus MOFLi/MSLi QSEs with asymmetric porous structure to inherit the benefits of both mesoporous and microporous hosts. This Janus QSE composed of mesoporous silica and microporous MOF exhibits a neat Li + conductivity of 1.5 × 10 -4 S cm -1 with t + of 0.71. A partially de-solvated structure and preference distribution of Li + near the Lewis base O atoms were depicted by MD simulations. Meanwhile, the nanoporous structure enabled efficient ion flux regulation, promoting the homogenous deposition of Li + . When incorporated in Li||Cu cells, the MOFLi/MSLi QSEs demonstrated a high Coulombic efficiency of 98.1%, surpassing that of liquid electrolytes (96.3%). Additionally, NCM 622||Li batteries equipped with MOFLi/MSLi QSEs exhibited promising rate performance and could operate stably for over 200 cycles at 1 C. In-situ wastewater treatment has gained popularity due to cost and energy savings tailored to water sources and user needs. However, this treatment, particularly through advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), poses ecological risks due to the need for strong oxidizing agents. Here, we present a decoupled oxidation process (DOP) using single-atom copper-modified graphite felt electrodes. This process creates a positive potential difference (ΔE ~ 0.5 V) between spatially isolated oxidants and organics and drives electron transfer-based redox reactions. The approach avoids the drawbacks of conventional AOPs, while being capable of treating various recalcitrant electron-rich organics. A floating water treatment device designed based on the DOP approach can degrade organic molecules in large bodies of water with oxidants stored separately in the device. We demonstrate that over 200 L of contaminated water can be treated with a floating device containing only 40 mL of oxidant (10 mM peroxysulphate). The modular device can be used in tandem structures on demand, maximizing water remediation per unit area. BACKGROUND Hypertriglyceridemia-induced acute pancreatitis (HTG-AP), representing 10% of all acute pancreatitis cases, is characterized by younger onset age and more severe progression, often leading to higher ICU admission rates. This condition poses a significant challenge due to its rapid progression and the potential for severe complications, including multiple organ failure. HTG-AP is distinct from other forms of pancreatitis, such as those caused by cholelithiasis or alcohol, in terms of clinical presentation and outcomes. It's essential to identify early markers that can predict the severity of HTG-AP to improve patient management and outcomes. MATERIAL AND METHODS This study divided 127 HTG-AP patients into mild acute pancreatitis (MAP, n=71) and moderate-to-severe acute pancreatitis (MSAP/SAP, n=56) groups. Blood biological indicators within the first 24 hours of admission were analyzed. Risk factors for HTG-AP progression were determined using binary logistic regression and ROC curves. RESULTS Elevated levels of HCT, NLR, TBI, DBI, AST, Cre, and AMS were noted in the MSAP/SAP group, with lower levels of LYM, Na⁺, Ca²⁺, ApoA, and ApoB compared to the MAP group (p<0.05). NEUT%, Ca²⁺, ApoA, and ApoB were significantly linked with HTG-AP severity. Their combined ROC analysis yielded an area of 0.81, with a sensitivity of 61.8% and specificity of 90%. CONCLUSIONS NEUT%, Ca²⁺, ApoA, and ApoB are significant risk factors for progressing to MSAP/SAP in HTG-AP. Their combined assessment provides a reliable predictive measure for early intervention in patients at risk of severe progression.

Recycling resources from wastewater is even more important for developing a more sustainable society. Disposing sewage sludge, which accumulates most pollutants and resources in sewage, is the main challenge in wastewater pollution control and resource utilization. Heavy metals (HMs) are the greatest constraint limiting the application of sewage sludge to land as a sustainable use of this material. We conducted a meta-analysis of the concentrations of HMs in Chinese sewage sludge by combining data from studies published from 2000 to 2019 (N = 8477). Over this period, the reported concentrations of HMs in sewage sludge declined in three stages (a fluctuating stage, a slight decrease stage, and a rapid and stable decrease stage). The results revealed that economic development and environmental policy implementation were the main factors mitigating HM pollution in sewage sludge in China. Moreover, if environmental regulations were strengthened and HM pollution-mitigation strategies were made consistent, such that the proportion of sewage sludge applied to land in China could be increased from 18.6% to 48.0% (the proportion applied to land in the United States), the ecosystem services analysis showed that huge ecological-economic benefits could be realized (3.1 billion Chinese Yuan) and the use of fertilizers could be substantially reduced (the use of nitrogen fertilizers by 8.5% and the use of phosphate fertilizers by 18.1%). The peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase Pin1 is a pivotal therapeutic target in cancers, but the regulation of Pin1 protein stability is largely unknown. High Pin1 expression is associated with SUMO1-modified protein hypersumoylation in glioma stem cells (GSCs), but the underlying mechanisms remain elusive. Here we demonstrate that Pin1 is deubiquitinated and stabilized by USP34, which promotes isomerization of the sole SUMO E2 enzyme Ubc9, leading to SUMO1-modified hypersumoylation to support GSC maintenance. Pin1 interacts with USP34, a deubiquitinase with preferential expression and oncogenic function in GSCs. Such interaction is facilitated by Plk1-mediated phosphorylation of Pin1. Disruption of USP34 or inhibition of Plk1 promotes poly-ubiquitination and degradation of Pin1. Furthermore, Pin1 isomerizes Ubc9 to upregulate Ubc9 thioester formation with SUMO1, which requires CDK1-mediated phosphorylation of Ubc9. Combined inhibition of Pin1 and CDK1 with sulfopin and RO3306 most effectively suppresses orthotopic tumor growth. Introduction: Ding-Zhi-Xiao-Wan (DZXW) produces potential antidepressant-like effects. However, its antidepressant mechanisms are still unclear., Objective: To analyze the antidepressant effects and the pharmacological mechanisms of DZXW, meta-analysis, network pharmacology, and molecular docking were selected in this study., Methods: The compounds of DZXW and genes associated with compounds or depression were obtained from databases. The genes overlapping between DZXW compounds and depression were compared by Venn diagram. A network of medicine-ingredients-targets-disease was constructed, visualized, and analyzed. Protein-protein interaction, gene ontology, pathway enrichment, and molecular docking were performed to evaluate the potential mechanisms of DZXW for the treatment of depression., Results: Meta-analysis showed that the antidepressant-like effects were produced by DZXW. The network pharmacology analysis showed that a total of 74 compound-related genes and 12607 PTSD-related genes were identified in the databases with 65 overlapping genes. The active ingredients derived from DZXW (i.e Beta-sitosterol, Stigmasterol, Fumarine, Hederagenin) elicited the antidepressant-like effects by targets, such as ACHE, HTR2A, and CHRM1. Electrochemically converting CO 2 into specified high-value products is critical for carbon neutral economics. However, governing the product distribution of the CO 2 electroreduction on Cu-based catalysts remains challenging. Herein, we put forward an anion enrichment strategy to efficiently dictate the route of *CO reduction by a pulsed electrolysis strategy. Upon periodically applying a positive potential on the cathode, the anion concentration in the vicinity of the electrode increases apparently. By adopting KF, KCl, and KHCO 3 as electrolytes, the dominant CO 2 electroreduction product on commercial Cu foil can be tuned into CO (53% ± 2.5), C2+ (76.6 ± 2.1%), and CH 4 (42.6 ± 2.1%) under pulsed electrolysis. Notably, one can delicately tailor the ratios of CO/CH 4 , CH 4 /C2+, and C2+/CO by simply changing the composition of the electrolyte. Density functional theory calculations demonstrate that locally enriched anions can affect the key CO 2 RR intermediates in different ways owing to their specific electronegativity and volume, which leads to the distinct selectivity. The present study highlights the importance of tuning ionic species at the electrode-electrolyte interface for customizing the CO 2 electroreduction products.

Background: Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and anxiety are common mental illnesses and there are many similar pathogenesis and clinical manifestations between PTSD and anxiety. Kaixinsan powder (KXS), a commonly used prescription in traditional Chinese medicine, has been widely used to treat PTSD and anxiety. This study aims to explore the potential mechanisms of KXS for the same pathogenesis of PTSD and anxiety using a network pharmacology approach., Methods: The bioactive components and relevant target genes of KXS were obtained from the database about Traditional Chinese Medicine. The key genes of PTSD and anxiety were derived from disease databases. Subsequently, the network of protein-protein interaction and a network of "drug-components-disease-targets" was constructed. In order to treat PTSD and anxiety, gene ontology enrichment and signaling pathway enrichment were analyzed by using R language and components-core targets associated were validated by molecular docking., Results: One hundred three targets of KXS in treating PTSD and anxiety were identified. The results of protein-protein interaction analysis and molecular docking indicated that AKT1 and IL-6 were crucial targets. Moreover, KEGG analysis has shown that neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction, calcium signaling pathway, and cAMP signaling pathway may play crucial roles in treating PTSD and anxiety. Ten biological process, 10 molecular function, and 10 cellular component were revealed via gene ontology analysis., Conclusions: The network pharmacology study and molecular docking indicated that KXS treated anxiety and PTSD by multiple components, targets, and signaling pathways. Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological features and differential diagnosis of olfactory carcinoma (OC). Methods: Twenty-one cases of sinonasal tumors, including those initially diagnosed as olfactory neuroblastoma (ONB) and those with uncertain diagnosis, were collected from the Department of Pathology, the First Affiliated Hospital of University of Science and Technology of China (Anhui Provincial Hospital) from January 2016 to August 2022, among which 3 cases were reclassified as OC. The clinicopathological features were investigated, and the remaining 18 cases were used as control. Results: Of the three OC patients, 2 were male and 1 was female, with an average age of 57 years ranging from 35 to 74 years. Microscopically, the tumor cells were arranged in solid, nested or lobulated patterns with occasional palisading around the solid nests. The stroma was highly vascular with focal neurofibrillary areas. There were prominent rosettes or pseudorosettes formation. The tumor cells were mainly ovoid to spindly with scant to moderate amount of cytoplasm, one or several small nucleoli, and fine chromatin content. Brisk mitotic figures were seen. In all 3 cases of OC, there were scanty atypical glands and some were ciliated. Immunohistochemically, at least one epithelial marker and neuroendocrine marker were diffusely expressed in the tumor. Some of the tumor cells were positive for p40 and p63, and the sustentacular cells showed the expression of S-100 protein. All cases tested were negative for NUT, CD99 and desmin, with intact expression of SMARCA4 (BRG1) and SMARCB1 (INI-1). Ki-67 proliferation index varied from 20% to 80%. Follow-up after 16-18 months showed no mortality with tumor recurrence from 1 patient after 16 months. Conclusion: OC is a rare sinonasal tumor with neuroepithelial differentiation, its histomorphology is diverse, and the combination of immunohistochemical markers is essential for appropriate diagnosis.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Rhinogobius maculagenys Wu et al., (Perciformes,Gobiidae) was sequenced and annotated in this study. The circular mitogenome is 16,500 bp long and consists of 13 protein-coding genes, two ribosomal RNA genes, 22 transfer RNA genes and two main non-coding regions (a putative control region and an L-strand replication origin). The overall base composition is 27.5% A, 25.5% T, 16.9% G, and 30.1% C. The gene order and composition are similar to those of other Gobionellinae species. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that R. maculagenys is closely related to Rhinogobius shennongensis in both the maximum likelihood tree and the Bayesian inference tree. Variants of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) have evolved such that it may be challenging for diagnosis and clinical treatment of the pandemic coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19). Compared with developed SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic tools recently, aptamers may exhibit some advantages, including high specificity/affinity, longer shelf life (vs. antibodies), and could be easily prepared. Herein an integrated microfluidic system was developed to automatically carry out one novel screening process based on the systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (SELEX) for screening aptamers specific with SARS-CoV-2. The new screening process started with five rounds of positive selection (with the S1 protein of SARS-CoV-2). In addition, including non-target viruses (influenza A and B), human respiratory tract-related cancer cells (adenocarcinoma human alveolar basal epithelial cells and dysplastic oral keratinocytes), and upper respiratory tract-related infectious bacteria (including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, and Klebsiella pneumoniae), and human saliva were involved to increase the specificity of the screened aptamer during the negative selection. Totally, all 10 rounds could be completed within 20 h. The dissociation constant of the selected aptamer was determined to be 63.0 nM with S1 protein. Limits of detection for Wuhan and Omicron clinical strains were found to be satisfactory for clinical applications (i.e. 4.80 × 10 1 and 1.95 × 10 2 copies/mL, respectively). Moreover, the developed aptamer was verified to be capable of capturing inactivated SARS-CoV-2 viruses, eight SARS-CoV-2 pseudo-viruses, and clinical isolates of SARS-CoV-2 viruses. Background: Premature ventricular complex (PVC) without structural heart disease is mostly viewed as a benign arrhythmia. However, the high burden of PVC causes cardiomyopathy due to intraventricular dyssynchrony. The effects of ectopic contraction on left ventricular (LV) hemodynamics in the structurally normal heart are unclear., Objectives: To examine the effect of PVC burden on LV dimension, LV systolic function, and intraventricular blood flow, and to determine whether ectopic ventricular contraction affects LV hemodynamics., Methods: Patients aged ≥ 18 years with PVC ≥ 5% on Holter recording were enrolled and divided into groups G1 (5-10%), G2 (10-20%), and G3 (≥ 20%). We excluded patients with structural heart diseases, pacemakers, and LV systolic dysfunction [LV ejection fraction (LVEF) < 50%]. Clinical characteristics and routine transthoracic echocardiography parameters were compared., Results: The end-systolic LV internal dimension increased according to the PVC burden from G1 to G3 (p = 0.001). LVEF was inversely associated with PVC burden from G1 to G3 (p = 0.002). The same pattern was seen for LV outflow tract (LVOT) maximal velocity (p = 0.005) and maximal pressure gradient (PG) (p = 0.005), LVOT velocity time integral (VTI) (p = 0.03) and LV stroke volume index (LVSI) (p = 0.008)., Conclusions: Systolic function and LV end-systolic dimension were inversely associated with PVC burden. Decreased LVOT flow velocity and PG were related to increased PVC burden. LVOT VTI and LVSI were smaller when the PVC burden exceeded 20%. Electrochemical CO 2 reduction reaction (CO 2 RR) is a promising strategy for waste CO 2 utilization and intermittent electricity storage. Herein, it is reported that bimetallic Cu/Pd catalysts with enhanced *CO affinity show a promoted CO 2 RR performance for multi-carbon (C2+) production under industry-relevant high current density. Especially, bimetallic Cu/Pd-1% catalyst shows an outstanding CO 2 -to-C2+ conversion with 66.2% in Faradaic efficiency (FE) and 463.2 mA cm -2 in partial current density. An increment in the FE ratios of C2+ products to CO  for Cu/Pd-1% catalyst further illuminates a preferable C2+ production. In situ Raman spectra reveal that the atop-bounded CO is dominated by low-frequency band CO on Cu/Pd-1% that leads to C2+ products on bimetallic catalysts, in contrast to the majority of high-frequency band CO on Cu that favors the formation of CO. The scaffold protein IRS-1 is an essential node in insulin/IGF signaling. It has long been recognized that the stability of IRS-1 is dependent on its endomembrane targeting. However, how IRS-1 targets the intracellular membrane, and what type of intracellular membrane is actually targeted, remains poorly understood. Here, we found that the phase separation-mediated IRS-1 puncta attached to endoplasmic reticulum (ER). VAPB, an ER-anchored protein that mediates tethers between ER and membranes of other organelles, was identified as a direct interacting partner of IRS-1. VAPB mainly binds active IRS-1 because IGF-1 enhanced the VAPB-IRS-1 association and replacing of the nine tyrosine residues of YXXM motifs disrupted the VAPB-IRS-1 association. We further delineated that the Y745 and Y746 residues in the FFAT-like motif of IRS-1 mediated the association with VAPB. Notably, VAPB targeted IRS-1 to the ER and subsequently maintained its stability. Consistently, ablation of VAPB in mice led to downregulation of IRS-1, suppression of insulin signaling, and glucose intolerance. The amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)-derived VAPB P56S mutant also impaired IRS-1 stability by interfering with the ER-tethering of IRS-1. Alzheimer's Disease is considered as an insidious neurodegenerative progressive disease but its pathogenesis has not been elucidated. Acoritataninowii Rhizoma exhibits anti-dementia effects as a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which is linked to its anti- Alzheimer's Disease mechanism. In this study, network pharmacology and molecular docking were used to examine the potential of Acoritataninowii Rhizoma for Alzheimer's Disease. In order to construct PPI networks and drug-component-target-disease networks, disease-related genes and proteins were gathered from the database. Gene ontology (GO), pathway enrichment (KEGG), and molecular docking were used to forecast the potential mechanism of Acoritataninowii Rhizoma on Alzheimer's disease. Therefore, 4 active ingredients and 81 target genes were screened from Acoritataninowii Rhizoma, 6765 specific target genes were screened from Alzheimer's Disease, and 61 drug-disease cross genes were validated. GO analysis showed that Acoritataninowii Rhizoma can regulate processes such as the protein serine/threonine kinase associated with MAPK. KeGG pathway analysis showed that the signaling pathways affected by Acoritataninowii Rhizoma were fluid shear stress and atherosclerosis, AGE-RAGE and other pathways. Molecular docking implied that the pharmacological influences of the bioactive constituents of Acoritataninowii Rhizoma (Cycloaartenol and kaempferol) on Alzheimer's Disease may related to ESR1 and AKT1, respectively. Background: Although standard bicaval techniques has become popular in orthotopic heart transplantation, distortion, bleeding, thrombosis and arrhythmia were still causes for concern. This study was designed to compare the standard bicaval techniques and modified bicaval techniques in our institution., Materials and Methods: A total of 70 recipients underwent orthotopic heart transplantation at our center from June 2015 to April 2019 (standard group = 24 cases, modified group = 46 cases). The average follow-up period was 46.4 ± 17.4 months. Atrioventricular cavity diameter was measured by ultrasonography and left atrial morphology was evaluated by CT-angiography and three-dimensional reconstruction., Results: Recipients in both groups were similar with pre-operative characteristics. Total ischemic, cardiopulmonary bypass and cross-clamp times were similar. The modified bicaval techniques group has a significantly fewer blood transfusion, lower post-transplant tricuspid regurgitation grade and the incidence of post-operative atrial arrhythmia than standard bicaval techniques group. CT-angiography and three-dimensional reconstruction illustrated ideal and physiologic left atrial morphological structure. Short-term survival differed significantly and the cumulative proportion of survival was significantly higher in the modified bicaval techniques group than that in the standard bicaval techniques group., Conclusions: This study showed that modified bicaval techniques offers a better early outcome than standard bicaval techniques. Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) are promising candidates for large-scale energy storage. Increasing the energy density of SIBs demands anode materials with high gravimetric and volumetric capacity. To overcome the drawback of low density of conventional nanosized or porous electrode materials, compact heterostructured particles are developed in this work with improved Na storage capacity by volume, which are composed of SnO 2 nanoparticles loaded into nanoporous TiO 2 followed by carbon coating. The resulted TiO 2 @SnO 2 @C (denoted as TSC) particles inherit the structural integrity of TiO 2 and extra capacity contribution from SnO 2 , delivering a volumetric capacity of 393 mAh cm -3 notably higher than that of porous TiO 2 and commercial hard carbon. The heterogeneous interface between TiO 2 and SnO 2 is believed to promote the charge transfer and facilitate the redox reactions in the compact heterogeneous particles. Developing efficient oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysts for seawater electrolysis is still a big challenge. Herein, a facile one-pot approach is reported to synthesize RuO 2 -incorporated NiFe-metal organic framework (RuO 2 /NiFe-MOF) with unique nanobrick-nanosheet heterostructure as precatalyst. Driven by electric field, the RuO 2 /NiFe-MOF dynamically reconstructs into RuO 2 nanoparticles-anchored NiFe oxy/hydroxide nanosheets (RuO 2 /NiFeOOH) with coherent interface, during which the dissolution and redeposition of RuO 2 are witnessed. Owing to the synergistic interaction between RuO 2 and NiFeOOH, the as-reconstructed RuO 2 /NiFeOOH exhibits outstanding alkaline OER activity with an ultralow overpotential of 187.6 mV at 10 mA cm -2 and a small Tafel slope of 31.9 mV dec -1 and excellent durability at high current densities of 840 and 1040 mA cm -2 in 1 m potassium hydroxide (KOH). When evaluated for seawater oxidation, the RuO 2 /NiFeOOH only needs a low overpotential of 326.2 mV to achieve 500 mA cm -2 and can continuously catalyze OER at 500 mA cm -2 for 100 h with negligible activity degradation. Density function theory calculations reveal that the presence of strong interaction and enhanced charge transfer along the coherent interface between RuO 2 and NiFeOOH ensures improved OER activity and stability., (© 2023 Wiley-VCH GmbH.)

The practical applications of zinc metal batteries are plagued by the dendritic propagation of its metal anodes due to the limited transfer rate of charge and mass at the electrode/electrolyte interphase. To enhance the reversibility of Zn metal, a quasi-solid interphase composed by defective metal-organic framework (MOF) nanoparticles (D-UiO-66) and two kinds of zinc salts electrolytes is fabricated on the Zn surface served as a zinc ions reservoir. Particularly, anions in the aqueous electrolytes could be spontaneously anchored onto the Lewis acidic sites in defective MOF channels. With the synergistic effect between the MOF channels and the anchored anions, Zn 2+ transport is prompted significantly. Simultaneously, such quasi-solid interphase boost charge and mass transfer of Zn 2+ , leading to a high zinc transference number, good ionic conductivity, and high Zn 2+ concentration near the anode, which mitigates Zn dendrite growth obviously. Encouragingly, unprecedented average coulombic efficiency of 99.8% is achieved in the Zn||Cu cell with the proposed quasi-solid interphase. The cycling performance of D-UiO-66@Zn||MnO 2 (~ 92.9% capacity retention after 2000 cycles) and D-UiO-66@Zn||NH 4 V 4 O 10 (~ 84.0% capacity retention after 800 cycles) prove the feasibility of the quasi-solid interphase., (© 2023. The homologous recombination repair (HRR) pathway is critical for repairing double-strand breaks (DSB). Inhibition of the HRR pathway is usually considered a promising strategy for anticancer therapy. The Bloom's Syndrome Protein (BLM), a DNA helicase, is essential for promoting the HRR pathway. Previously, we discovered quinazolinone derivative 9h as a potential BLM inhibitor, which suppressed the proliferation of colorectal cancer (CRC) cell HCT116. Herein, a new series of quinazolinone derivatives with N3-substitution was designed and synthesized to improve the anticancer activity and explore the structure-activity relationship (SAR). After evaluating their BLM inhibitory activity, the SAR was discussed, leading to identifying compound 21 as a promising BLM inhibitor. 21 exhibited the potent BLM-dependent cytotoxicity against the CRC cells but weak against normal cells. Further evaluation revealed that 21 could disrupt the HRR level while inhibiting BLM located on the DSB site and trigger DNA damage in the CRC cells. This compound effectively suppressed the proliferation and invasion of CRC cells, along with cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. The vascular structure and function are potentially useful biomarkers for tumor detection. Treatment with chemotherapeutic agents may impair vascular function and increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. This study aimed to use noninvasive pulse waveform measurements to identify differences in the frequency-domain indices of the pulse waveform in breast-cancer patients following anthracycline chemotherapy between with (Group KSY) and without (Group NKSY) receiving Kuan-Sin-Yin (KSY) treatment.Radial blood pressure waveform (BPW) signals were measured noninvasively for 3 minutes in 31 patients, and the FACT-G, BFI-T, and EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaires were administered. The following pulse indices were calculated for 10 harmonics: the amplitude proportion and its coefficient of variation, and the phase angle and its standard deviation.The changes in spectral BPW indices were more prominent in Group NKSY than in Group KSY, especially for the decreases in BPW variability indices. Scores on the FACT-G, BFI-T, and EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaires suggested that the quality of life following chemotherapy was better in Group KSY.The identified decreases in pulse variability indices could be related to the greater impairment of regulatory activities in Group NKSY. The present findings may be meaningful in developing techniques with advantages such as being noninvasive and time-saving to evaluate the blood supply and physiological conditions following chemotherapy or other treatment strategies in cancer patients.

Objective: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disease with high morbidity and mortality. There are about 5%-15% of ALS patients combining with frontotemporal lobe degeneration (FTLD) at the same time and 50% of patients combing with cognitive function changes. The analysis of cortical thickness based on MRI is an important imaging method to evaluate brain structure. The aim of the study was to explore the changes of brain structure in ALS patients by cortical thickness analysis, and to explore the correlation between the brain structure and cognitive function., Methods: In the study, 18 ALS patients treated in Department of Neurology, Peking University Third Hospital and 18 normal controls (age, gender and education level matched) were included. 3D magnetization prepared rapid gradient echo imaging (MPRAGE) sequence MRI was performed and the cortical thickness was analyzed. At the same time, all the ALS patients took neuropsychology assessments, including: mini-mental state examination (MMSE), verbal fluency test (VFT), Stroop color word test (SCWT), prospective memory (PM), emotional picture perception and recognition, and faux pas story test., Results: After cognitive assessment, two ALS patients had cognitive impairment. One was in accordance with ALS-frontotemporal dementia (FTD) diagnosis and the other one was in accordance with ALS cognitive impairment (ALSci) diagnosis. In all the 18 ALS patients and 18 normal controls, the cortical thickness of the left medial orbitofrontal lobe and the medial temporal lobe were significantly reduced ( P < 0.05) in ALS group by the vertex-wise comparison. Cortical thickness of the left entorhinal cortex, the left inferior temporal gyrus, the left medial orbitofrontal lobe and the left insular lobe was significantly reduced ( P < 0.05) by the region-wise comparison. However, when only concluded the 16 ALS non-cognitive impairment patients, there was no significant difference between the two groups ( P >0.05). There were correlations between the scores of prospective memory, emotional picture perception and recognition, faux pas story test and the cortical thickness of their corresponding regions ( P < 0.05)., Conclusion: The cortical thickness of ALS patients are correlated with neuropsychological scores which may reflect the changes of cortical structure corresponding to the cognitive assessment, and may provide help for the early diagnosis of cognitive changes in ALS patients.

Mesoporous silicas tethered with anions were developed as quasi-solid electrolytes for Li-metal batteries. The high grafted density of trifluoromethylsulfonyl (-NTf - ) groups and their uniformly distributed negative charge endow MCM41-NLiTf with a room temperature single Li-ion conductivity of up to 2.4 × 10 -4 S cm -1 , which enables stable cycling of LFP‖Li batteries.
