Pressure-sensitive smart textiles are widely applied in the fields of healthcare, sports monitoring, and intelligent homes. The integration of devices embedded with pressure sensing arrays is expected to enable comprehensive scene coverage and multi-device integration. However, the implementation of identity recognition, a fundamental function in this context, relies on extensive device-specific datasets due to variations in pressure distribution across different devices. To address this challenge, we propose a novel user identification method based on contrastive learning. We design two parallel branches to facilitate user identification on both new and existing devices respectively, employing supervised contrastive learning in the feature space to promote domain unification. When encountering new devices, extensive data collection efforts are not required; instead, user identification can be achieved using limited data consisting of only a few simple postures. Through experimentation with two 8-subject pressure datasets (BedPressure and ChrPressure), our proposed method demonstrates the capability to achieve user identification across 12 sitting scenarios using only a dataset containing 2 postures. Our average recognition accuracy reaches 79.05%, representing an improvement of 2.62% over the best baseline model.

Body weight, as an essential physiological trait, is of considerable significance in many applications like body management, rehabilitation, and drug dosing for patient-specific treatments. Previous works on the body weight estimation task are mainly vision-based, using 2D/3D, depth, or infrared images, facing problems in illumination, occlusions, and especially privacy issues. The pressure mapping mattress is a non-invasive and privacy-preserving tool to obtain the pressure distribution image over the bed surface, which strongly correlates with the body weight of the lying person. To extract the body weight from this image, we propose a deep learning-based model, including a dual-branch network to extract the deep features and pose features respectively. A contrastive learning module is also combined with the deep-feature branch to help mine the mutual factors across different postures of every single subject. The two groups of features are then concatenated for the body weight regression task. To test the model's performance over different hardware and posture settings, we create a pressure image dataset of 10 subjects and 23 postures, using a self-made pressure-sensing bedsheet. This dataset, which is made public together with this paper, together with a public dataset, are used for the validation. The results show that our model outperforms the state-of-the-art algorithms over both 2 datasets. Our research constitutes an important step toward fully automatic weight estimation in both clinical and at-home practice. X-ray Talbot-Lau interferometer has been used widely to conduct phase contrast imaging with a conventional low-brilliance x-ray source. Typically, in this technique, background correction has to be performed in order to obtain the pure signal of the sample under inspection. In this study, we reported on a research on the background correction strategies within this technique, especially we introduced a new phase unwrapping solution for one conventional background correction method, the key point of this new solution is changing the initial phase of each pixel by a cyclic shift operation on the raw images collected in phase stepping scan. Experimental result and numerical analysis showed that the new phase unwrapping algorithm could successfully subtract contribution of the system's background without error. Moreover, a potential advantage of this phase unwrapping strategy is that its effective phase measuring range could be tuned flexibly in some degree for example to be (-pi+3, pi+3], thus it would find usage in certain case because measuring range of the currently widely used background correction method is fixed to be (-pi, pi]., Comment: 23 pages, 8 figures, english polished

X-ray Talbot-Lau interferometer has been used most widely to perform X-ray phase-contrast imaging with a conventional low-brilliance X-ray source, it yields high-sensitivity phase and dark-field images of sample producing low absorption contrast, thus bearing tremendous potential for future clinical diagnosis. In this manuscript, while changing accelerating voltage of the X-ray tube from 35KV to 45KV, X-ray phase-contrast imaging of a test sample were performed at each integer KV position to investigate the characteristic of an X-ray Talbot-Lau interferometer (located in the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials, Tohoku University, Japan) vs. tube voltage. Experimental results and data analysis show that this X-ray Talbot-Lau interferometer is insensitive to the tube accelerating voltage within a certain range, fringe visibility around 44% is maintained in the aforementioned tube voltage range. The AC magnetic susceptibility is a fundamental method in materials science, which allows to probe the dynamic magnetic response of magnetic materials and superconductors. The LAMPS laboratory at the Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati of the INFN hosts an AC multi-harmonic magnetometer that allows performing experiments with an AC magnetic field ranging from 0.1 to 20 Gauss and in the frequency range from 17 to 2070 Hz. A DC magnetic field from 0 to 8 T produced by a superconducting magnet can be applied, while data may be collected in the temperature range 4.2-300 K using a liquid He cryostat under different temperature cycles setups. The first seven AC magnetic multi-harmonic susceptibility components can be measured with a magnetic sensitivity of 1x10-6 emu and a temperature precision of 0.01 K. X-ray phase-contrast imaging can provide greatly improved contrast over conventional absorption-based imaging for weakly absorbing samples, such as biological soft tissues and fibre composites. In this manuscript, we introduce an easy and fast way to develop a user-friendly software platform dedicated to the new grating-based X-ray phase-contrast imaging setup recently built at the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory of the University of Science and Technology of China. Unified management and control of 21 motorized positioning stages, of an ultra-precision piezoelectric translation stage and of the X-ray tube are achieved with this platform. The software package also covers the automatic image acquisition of the phase-stepping scanning with a flat panel detector. Moreover, a data post-processing module for signals retrieval and other custom features are in principle available. The local structures and optical absorption characteristic of Fe doped TiO2 nanoparticles synthesized by the sol-gel method were characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (XAFS) and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy (UV-Vis). XRD patterns show that all Fe-doped TiO2 samples have the characteristic anatase structure. Accurate Fe and Ti K-edge EXAFS analysis further reveal that all Fe atoms replace Ti atoms in the anatase lattice. The analysis of UV-Vis data shows a red shift to the visible range. According to the above results, we claim that substitutional Fe atoms lead to the formation of structural defects and new intermediate energy levels appear, narrowing the band gap and extending the optical absorption edge towards the visible region., Comment: 7 pages,3 figures

X-ray computed tomography at the nanometer scale (nano-CT) offers a wide range of applications in scientific and industrial areas. Here we describe a reliable, user-friendly and fast software package based on LabVIEW that may allow to perform all procedures after the acquisition of raw projection images in order to obtain the inner structure of the investigated sample. A suitable image alignment process to address misalignment problems among image series due to mechanical manufacturing errors, thermal expansion and other external factors has been considered together with a novel fast parallel beam 3D reconstruction procedure, developed ad hoc to perform the tomographic reconstruction. Remarkably improved reconstruction results obtained at the Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility after the image calibration confirmed the fundamental role of this image alignment procedure that minimizes unwanted blurs and additional streaking artifacts always present in reconstructed slices. Moreover, this nano-CT image alignment and its associated 3D reconstruction procedure fully based on LabVIEW routines, significantly reduce the data post-processing cycle, thus making faster and easier the activity of the users during experimental runs., Comment: 9 pages, 5 figures, 1 chart

Based on the first-principles calculations, we have investigated the geometry, binding properties, density of states and band structures of the novel superconductor LaFe1-xCoxAsO and its parent compounds with the ZrCuSiAs structure. We demonstrate that La-O bond and TM-As (TM=Fe or Co) bond are both strongly covalent, while the LaO and TMAs layers have an almost ionic interaction through the Bader charge analysis. Partial substitution of iron with cobalt modify the Fermi level from a steep edge to a flat slope, which explains why in this system Co doping suppresses the spin density wave (SDW) transition., Comment: 18 pages, 6 figures
