Abstract Background Cysticercosis is a zoonotic parasitic disease that poses a serious threat to public health. It is widely distributed and has a high incidence rate in China. Reports of disseminated cysticercosis worldwide are rare. This article presents a case of disseminated cysticercosis in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of southwestern China. Case presentation The patient, a 46-year-old male belonging to the Miao ethnic group, hailed from a region in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region known for its high incidence of cysticercosis. He had a habit of consuming raw pork and beef. With a history of recurrent consciousness disturbances and limb convulsions for five years, he presented with headaches and dizziness nine days prior. Comprehensive examinations were conducted on the patient. Ultimately, based on epidemiological history, imaging findings, pathogen testing, and pathological results, he was diagnosed with disseminated cysticercosis. Following anthelmintic treatment, the patient was discharged with clear consciousness, free from headaches, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and seizures. The patient is currently under follow-up care. Conclusion It is crucial to enhance public awareness, promote health education, and cultivate good hygiene habits, as these are essential measures in reducing the incidence of cysticercosis.

Autoimmune glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) astrocytopathy is a rare autoimmune disease, which is characterized by the immune system attacking astrocytes in the central nervous system, resulting in inflammation and damage to the nervous system. We reported a 41-year-old female patient with only drowsiness for 3 months, who was, otherwise, healthy with no other signs of meningoencephalitis or myelitis. There were no obvious abnormalities in her neurological and ophthalmic tests. Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) plain scan + enhancement with the gadolinium contrast agent revealed patchy hypointensity on T1-weighted imaging, hyperintensity on T2-weighted imaging, hyperintensity on T2-weighted fluid-attenuated inversion recovery in the left basal ganglia, corona radiata, and local septum pellucida, with no enhancement in the enhanced lesions. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) revealed white blood cell count of 5.00 × 106/L, CSF protein of 828.53 mg/L, and glucose of 2.83 mmol/L. Aquaporin-4 (AQP4) antibody, N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) antibody and GFAP antibody were all positive, whereas the remaining autoimmune encephalitis antibody tests were negative. Oncology screening [including head, chest, and whole-abdomen (involving the pelvic cavity) CT and tumor markers] did not reveal any obvious evidence of tumor presence. The patient received systemic treatment with high-dose intravenous injection of steroids combined with immunosuppressive agents, and the clinical and imaging features of the patients improved. To the best of our knowledge, reports on overlapping positivity of AQP4 antibody and NMDAR antibody in patients with GFAP astrocytopathy were still very rare. We hope to supplement the existing literature on this topic, review the relevant literature, and strive to increase the understanding toward GFAP astrocytopathy with overlapping autoimmune syndrome so as to enable early diagnosis and early treatment and to improve the clinical outcome of patients.

This work demonstrated the first synthetic application of direct C−H olefinations in the step‐saving preparation of various hole‐transporting materials (HTM) for efficient perovskite solar cells (PSC). Cross‐dehydrogenative couplings of naphthodithiophene (NDT) with vinyl arenes under palladium‐catalysis facilely generated various new oligo(hetero)aryls with internal alkenes. Reaction conditions were optimized, which gave the product isolated yields of up to 71 % with high (E)‐stereoselectivity. These readily accessible NDT core‐based small molecules involving olefin as π‐spacers displayed immediate power conversion efficiencies of up to 17.2 % without a device oxidation process that is required for the commercially available spiro‐OMeTAD and most other existing HTMs while fabricated in corresponding PSC devices. Combining the advantages of energetic heterocycles to achieve high-energy insensitive explosives is a significant challenge. Herein, based on high-energy tetrazole rings and highly stable 1,3,4-oxadiazole rings, a series of novel nitrogen rich energetic compounds 5–9 were successfully constructed. The related compounds were fully characterized by EA, FT-IR, NMR, DSC, and MS, and compounds 6–9 were further confirmed by X-ray single crystal diffraction. Among them, the energetic ion salts 6–8 show high thermal stability (Tdec > 250 °C) and low mechanical sensitivity (IS > 40 J, FS > 360 N), as well as good energy properties (7552–8050 m s−1, 19.4–23.3 GPa). In particular, the azo compound 9 exhibits competent comprehensive performances (Tdec = 226.2 °C, D = 8502 m s−1, P = 28.9 GPa, IS = 32 J, FS = 320 N). These results suggest that the strategy of integrating tetrazole and 1,3,4-oxadiazole and employing an azo structure as a bridging unit are effective approaches to construct high-energy insensitive materials. In order to broaden the study of energetic cations, a cation 3,5-diamino-4H-pyrazol-4-one oxime (DAPO) with good thermal stability was proposed, and its three salts were synthesized by a simple and efficient method. The structures of the three salts were verified by infrared spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, elemental analysis, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The thermal stabilities of the three salts were verified by differential scanning calorimetry and thermos-gravimetric analysis. DAPO-based energetic salts are analysed using a variety of theoretical techniques, such as 2D fingerprint, Hirshfeld surface, and non-covalent interaction. Among them, the energy properties of perchlorate (DAPOP) and picrate (DAPOT) were determined by EXPLO5 program combined with the measured density and enthalpy of formation. These compounds have high density, acceptable detonation performance, good thermal stability, and satisfactory sensitivity. The intermolecular interactions of the four compounds were studied by Hirshfeld surface and non-covalent interactions, indicating that hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking interactions are the reasons for the extracellular properties of perchlorate (DAPOP) and picrate (DAPOT), indicating that DAPO is an optional nitrogen-rich cation for the design and synthesis of novel energetic materials with excellent properties.
