Simple Summary: The objective of drug repurposing is to discover novel therapeutic uses for established pharmaceuticals. Paroxetine (PX), a commonly prescribed antidepressant, has demonstrated promising anticancer properties in experimental studies. Nevertheless, its precise role and mechanisms of action in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) remain incompletely elucidated. Our research findings propose that PX may impact TNBC by modulating critical molecular pathways, providing significant implications for enhancing chemosensitivity and identifying potential therapeutic synergies in clinical practice. These findings provide a basis for the creation of individualized treatment plans and the identification of the most effective therapeutic interventions to enhance treatment precision and effectiveness in patients with TNBC. This study aimed to examine the impact of PX on TNBC cells in vitro as both a standalone treatment and in conjunction with other pharmaceutical agents. Cell viability was measured using the 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay, apoptosis was assessed through flow cytometry, and the effects on signaling pathways were analyzed using RNA sequencing and Western blot techniques. Furthermore, a subcutaneous tumor model was utilized to assess the in vivo efficacy of combination therapy on tumor growth. The results of our study suggest that PX may activate the Ca2+-dependent mitochondria-mediated intrinsic apoptosis pathway in TNBC by potentially influencing the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway as well as by inducing cytoprotective autophagy. Additionally, the combination of PX and chemotherapeutic agents demonstrated moderate inhibitory effects on 4T1 tumor growth in an in vivo model. These findings indicate that PX may exert its effects on TNBC through modulation of critical molecular pathways, offering important implications for improving chemosensitivity and identifying potential therapeutic combinations for clinical use. The millions-worth revenue derived from large-scale food delivery characterises the service as a relatively established phenomenon with potential growth. The current cross-sectional research examined online food delivery service quality on consumer satisfaction and reuse intention. Service quality was divided into seven categories (i.e., reliability, assurance, security, maintaining food quality, system operation, traceability, and perceived service value). Perceived service value offer the unique understanding of the online food delivery consumer satisfaction. Empirical data were elicited from 1352 valid respondents and subsequently assessed through the partial least square structural equation modelling. Findings revealed that reliability, assurance, maintaining food quality, system operation, traceability, and perceived service value could elevate customer satisfaction and optimize the intention to reuse food delivery services. Specific measures to improve service quality, including staff training, improved after-sales service, and system optimisation, were proposed to increase users' satisfaction and intention to reuse optimally. In this paper, two compact difference schemes are established for solving two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) nonlinear wave equations with variable coefficients, respectively, by using the local one-dimensional (LOD) method and the fourth-order compact difference approximation formulas of the second-order derivatives. Firstly, a four-step fourth-order compact scheme is derived to solve the 2D nonlinear wave equation. The stability of the scheme 2for solving the linear equation is analyzed by the discrete Fourier method, which shows that it is conditionally stable. Then, the method is extend to solve the 3D nonlinear wave equation and stability condition for the linear equation is also analyzed. Successive structural transformations were observed in a methanolic solution containing 4-iodo-1-methylpyridin-1-ium iodide (IPyMe·I) and bismuth iodide (BiI3). When kept in the solution, the amorphous solid (P_1) obtained immediately on mixing would transform to needle crystals (C_1) in hours, which would convert to prismatic crystals (C_2) in around 2 days. In the presence of hydroiodic acid, the hydrothermal reaction of IPyMe·I and BiI3 also gave rise to C_2, and crystals of C_2 in this solution would transform to a third crystalline product C_3 in ca. 3 days. X-ray single crystal diffraction experiments show C_1 containing one-dimensional {BiI4−}n chains, C_2 as a binuclear Bi2I93− structure, and C_3 consisting of a monomeric BiI63− unit, all with IPyMe+ as counter cations. Halogen bonds exist between IPyMe+ and the iodobismuthate, which may play key roles in the structural transformation. By introducing halogen bonding, the hybrids demonstrate excellent water-resistance. A thermal-induced reversible colour change from yellow to dark red occurred from 100 K to 450 K for all three hybrids, in which lattice expansion over the temperature range may be a reason for the thermochromism. The bandgaps derived from the UV-vis diffusion reflectance for the three complexes were 1.80 eV for C_1, 1.84 eV for C_2 and 2.00 eV for C_3. DTF computations followed by electron density topological analysis were applied to explain the structure–optical property relationship for complexes of diverse iodobismuthate types but the same counter cation. Purpose: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is the most malignant subtype of breast cancer. As yet, chemotherapy with drugs such as doxorubicin is the main treatment strategy. However, drug resistance and dose-dependent toxicities restrict their clinical use. Natural products are major sources of anti-tumor drugs. OSW-1 is a natural compound with strong anti-cancer effects in several types of cancer, but its effects on the efficacy of chemotherapy in TNBC and its underlying mechanism remain unclear. Methods: The inhibitory activities of OSW-1 and its combination with several chemotherapy drugs were tested using in vitro assays and invivo subcutaneous and metastatic mouse TNBC models. The effects of the mono- and combination treatments on TNBC cell viability, apoptosis, autophagy and related signaling pathways were assessed using MTT, flow cytometry, RNA sequencing and immunology-based assays. In addition, the in vivo inhibitory effects of OSW-1 and (combined) chemotherapies were evaluated in subcutaneous and metastatic mouse tumor models. Results: We found that OSW-1 induces Ca2+-dependent mitochondria-dependent intrinsic apoptosis and cyto-protective autophagy through the PI3K-Akt-mTOR pathway in TNBC cells in vitro. We also found that OSW-1 and doxorubicin exhibited strong synergistic anti-TNBC capabilities both in vivo and in vitro. Combination treatment strongly inhibited spontaneous and experimental lung metastases in 4T1 mouse models. In addition, the combination strategy of OSW-1 + Carboplatin + Docetaxel showed an excellent anti-metastatic effect in vivo. Conclusions: Our data revealed the mode of action and molecular mechanism underlying the effect of OSW-1 against TNBC, and provided a useful guidance for improving the sensitivity of TNBC cells to conventional chemotherapeutic drugs, which warrants further investigation. Immune checkpoint molecules are promising anticancer targets, among which therapeutic antibodies targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway have been widely applied to cancer treatment in clinical practice and have great potential. However, this treatment is greatly limited by its low response rates in certain cancers, lack of known biomarkers, immune-related toxicity, innate and acquired drug resistance, etc. Overcoming these limitations would significantly expand the anticancer applications of PD-1/PD-L1 blockade and improve the response rate and survival time of cancer patients. In the present review, we first illustrate the biological mechanisms of the PD-1/PD-L1 immune checkpoints and their role in the healthy immune system as well as in the tumor microenvironment (TME). The PD-1/PD-L1 pathway inhibits the anticancer effect of T cells in the TME, which in turn regulates the expression levels of PD-1 and PD-L1 through multiple mechanisms. Several strategies have been proposed to solve the limitations of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 treatment, including combination therapy with other standard treatments, such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, anti-angiogenic therapy, other immunotherapies and even diet control. Downregulation of PD-L1 expression in the TME via pharmacological or gene regulation methods improves the efficacy of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 treatment. Surprisingly, recent preclinical studies have shown that upregulation of PD-L1 in the TME also improves the response and efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade. Immunotherapy is a promising anticancer strategy that provides novel insight into clinical applications. Based on the DFT‐level‐calculated molecular volume (Vmol) of pyrrole and its liquid density, pyrrole manifests the highest liquid density coefficient LDc (defined as [Vmol×density ×0.6023]/FW) value of 0.7. Normal liquids have LDc <0.63. This very high LDc is due to the strong N−H⋅⋅⋅π interactions in solution, and hence pyrrole can be considered to be a pseudo‐crystalline liquid. When trapped inside the confined space of a crystalline sponge, a reorientation of the N−H⋅⋅⋅π interaction is observed leading to specific cyclic N−H⋅⋅⋅π tetramers and N−H⋅⋅⋅π dimers, as verified by single‐crystal X‐ray crystallographic and computational methods. These tetramers are of the same size as four pyrrole molecules in the solid‐state of pyrrole, yet the cyclic N−H⋅⋅⋅π intermolecular interactions are circularly oriented instead of being in the linear zigzag structure found in the X‐ray structure of a solid pyrrole. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the adhesion characteristics of the wheel–rail under water and large sliding conditions. This is carried out by conducting a series of tests on a full-scale roller rig. The measured data provides an experimental base for conducting further theoretical research. Design/methodology/approach: The influence of the slip ratio, rolling speed and the axle load on the adhesion coefficient between the wheel and the rail is analyzed under wet conditions using a full-scale roller rig. Findings: From the research, it is found that the adhesion coefficient–slip ratio curve varies from the traditional theoretical description under water and large sliding conditions. Moreover, it is also observed that after the adhesion coefficient reaches the saturation point, the adhesion coefficient does not decrease, but continues to increase as the slip ratio increases. Originality/value: The adhesion improvement phenomenon in this paper may provide new ideas for designing anti-skid control and braking system mechanisms for trains. Knowing the diet of endangered wild animals is a prerequisite for species-specific conservation and habitat management. The Sichuan partridge Arborophila rufipectus is a globally endangered Galliformes species endemic to the mountains of southwest China. Existing information on the diet of this species is biased and fragmented owing to traditional observation methods. Little is known about their dietary composition or how they respond to temporal variations in food resources throughout the year. In this study, a dietary analysis was performed on 60 fecal samples using DNA Metabarcoding of invertebrates and plants to determine the primary animal and plant components of the diet across 3 critical periods of adult life history (breeding, postbreeding wandering, and overwintering). Preys from the dipteran order, followed by the lepidopteran and araneaen spp. were the predominant, animal-derived foods. Symplocos , Rubus , Celastrus , Holboellia , and Actinidia spp. supply a large abundance of fruits and seeds for this omnivorous bird. Substantial temporal dietary changes among the 3 periods and a general shift toward lower dietary diversity during the breeding season were observed, suggesting that the Sichuan partridge can adjust their diet according to the availability of food resources and their own needs. Characterizing the composition and seasonal changes in Sichuan partridge diets informs the habitat management of native flora (the plant taxa that can generate berries and seeds, such as Symplocos , Rubus , Celastrus , and Holboellia , which are likely of conservation interest) to achieve full life-cycle conservation. Multistage incremental sheet metal forming (MS-ISF) is used to produce sheet metal parts with a large forming angle. Similar to the forming limit diagram (FLD) in stamping, FLD in MS-ISF is not sufficiently reliable due to the effect of loading path. To solve this problem, a method to calculate the forming limit stress diagram (FLSD) from FLD was proposed. Physical exercise has gradually become a focus in cancer treatment due to its pronounced role in reducing cancer risk, enhancing therapeutic efficacy, and improving prognosis. In recent decades, skeletal muscles have been considered endocrine organs, exerting their biological functions via the endocrine, autocrine, and paracrine systems by secreting various types of myokines. The amount of myokines secreted varies depending on the intensity, type, and duration of exercise. Recent studies have shown that muscle-derived myokines are highly involved the effects of exercise on cancer. Multiple myokines, such as interleukin-6 (IL-6), oncostatin M (OSM), secreted protein acidic and rich in cysteine (SPARC), and irisin, directly mediate cancer progression by influencing the proliferation, apoptosis, stemness, drug resistance, metabolic reprogramming, and epithelial-mesenchymal transformation (EMT) of cancer cells. In addition, IL-6, interleukin-8 (IL-8), interleukin-15 (IL-15), brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and irisin can improve obesity-induced inflammation by stimulating lipolysis of adipose tissues, promoting glucose uptake, and accelerating the browning of white fat. Furthermore, some myokines could regulate the tumor microenvironment, such as angiogenesis and the immune microenvironment. Cancer cachexia occurs in up to 80% of cancer patients and is responsible for 22%-30% of patient deaths. It is characterized by systemic inflammation and decreased muscle mass. Exercise-induced myokine production is important in regulating cancer cachexia. This review summarizes the roles and underlying mechanisms of myokines, such as IL-6, myostatin, IL-15, irisin, fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) and musclin, in cancer cachexia. Materials‐based antigen delivery systems can augment the immune response by improving antigen uptake in antigen‐presenting cells, targeting lymph nodes, prolonging antigen exposure, enhancing cross‐presentation, etc. Recent research revealed that some antigen carriers activate the innate immune pathways without additional adjuvant. Here, a vaccine delivery platform (antigen nanocapsules) constructed by a one‐step in situ polymerization is reported, weaving a biodegradable polymer network around the antigen surface. This simple technology allowed us to study the immunomodulatory effect of various antigen carriers. An antigen nanocapsule (NC7) capable of inducing dendritic cell activation and cross‐presentation is identified. Further mechanistic studies revealed that NC7 activated the cGAS‐STING pathway in a cGAS‐dependent manner. Moreover, the subcutaneously injected NC7 accumulated in the lymph nodes and elicited strong cytotoxic T cell immunity and T cell memory against established cancer. This study aims to examine the mediating effect of the intention to use wearable payment devices (WPD) between perceived ease of use (PE), perceived usefulness (PU), social influence (SI), perceived trust (TR), and lifestyle compatibility (CM) on the adoption of WPD. Examination was made on the moderating effect of age and gender to improve the understanding of the adoption of WPD as a new payment system. Empirical data was collected through an online survey from 1094 respondents in Malaysia. Furthermore, this study employed dual-stage data analysis through partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) to test the causal and moderating effects, including artificial neural network (ANN) to examine the predictive power of the selected model. As a result, it was found that PE, PU, TR, and CM had a significant positive influence on the intention to use WPD. Furthermore, facilitating conditions and the intention to use WPD exhibited strong positive impacts on the adoption of WPD among Malaysian youth. The intention to use WPD positively and significantly mediated all predictors of adoption of WPD. Following that, ANN analysis confirmed high prediction accuracy of the data fitness. Overall, the findings for ANN highlighted the importance of PE, CM, and TR on the intention to adopt WPD and the impact of facilitating conditions on the adoption of WPD among Malaysian youth. Theoretically, the study extended UTAUT with two additional determinants (e.g., perceived trust and lifestyle compatibility), which were found to have significant influences on the intention to use WPD. The study results would be able to help payment service providers and the smart wearable device industry offer an innovative spectrum of products and present effective marketing tactics to encourage the prospective consumers of Wearable Payment Devices in Malaysia. Aerodynamic braking is a non-adhesion braking method. In the aerodynamic braking system, wing panels are installed on the vehicle roof. During the braking process, unfolded wing panels generate aerodynamic forces and the aerodynamic forces lead to the axle-load transfer. The aerodynamic forces are obtained from the wind tunnel test. Vertical vehicle dynamic model is developed to study the axle load transfer. Law of the axle-load transfer under the condition of different opening directions, different open angles and different installing positions of the wing panels are discussed. Through multi-parameters analysis, backward opening direction, an opening angle of 70° and the relative installing position coefficient ξ of 0.51 is found to be the best installing condition for the aerodynamic brake. When the vehicle velocity is 400 km/h, the uniform axle-load is achieved under the above installing condition and the axle-load transfer rate is 0.52%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Novel durian-like TiO2@CdS core-shell particles were synthesized through a solvothermal method in ethylenediamine solution and the obtained nanocomposites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), and transmission electron microscopic (TEM) techniques. It can be seen from the characterization that the synthesized core-shell structured particles show uniform size. The possible formation mechanism of TiO2@CdS core-shell particles is also presented schematically. CdS grows on the TiO2 surface in the form of nanorods, turning the TiO2@CdS composite particles into durian-like structures. The durian-like TiO2@CdS core-shell particles prepared in the experiment can overcome the disadvantages of TiO2 and CdS, respectively. They not only produce a higher yield of H2 than pure TiO2; the durian-like TiO2@CdS nanostructures formed at 180 °C for 16 h produced 2.5 times as much H2 as did TiO2, also showing enhanced stability as compared with pure CdS. There are several modifiable factors that can be targeted to prevent and manage the occurrence and progression of cancer, and maintaining adequate exercise is a crucial one. Regular physical exercise has been shown to be a beneficial strategy in preventing cancer, potentially amplifying the effectiveness of established cancer therapies, alleviating certain cancer-related symptoms, and possibly mitigating side effects resulting from treatment. Nevertheless, the exact mechanisms by which exercise affects tumors, especially its impact on the tumor microenvironment (TME), remain uncertain. This review aims to present an overview of the beneficial effects of exercise in the context of cancer management, followed by a summary of the exercise parameters, especially exercise intensity, that need to be considered when prescribing exercise for cancer patients. Finally, we discuss the influence of exercise on the TME, including its effects on crucial immune cells (e.g., T cells, macrophages, neutrophils, natural killer cells, myeloid-derived suppressor cells, B cells), intratumor angiogenesis, and cancer metabolism. This comprehensive review provides up-to-date scientific evidence on the effects of exercise training on cancer and offers guidance to clinicians for the development of safe and feasible exercise training programs for cancer patients in clinical practice. Purpose: Despite efforts in developing effective therapeutic strategies, colorectal cancer (CRC) remains one of the most prevalent and lethal neoplasms. Repurposing approved drugs is an alluring strategy for developing anticancer agents. Some antipsychotic drugs, including chlorpromazine (CPZ), possess anticancer activities. However, the pharmacological effects of CPZ on CRC have not been clearly established.Methods: MTT assay, flow cytometry, western blotting analysis, subcutaneous mice tumor, and tail-vein-injection established lung metastasis model were used to investigate the anticancer effects of CPZ on CRC and the underlying mechanism.Results: We found that CPZ effectively suppressed CRC by inducing G2/M cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. Cell cycle arrest was associated with decreased activities of the cdc2/cyclin B1 complex, including suppressed expression of cyclin B1, cdc2 and cdc25c, and elevated expression levels of phosphorylated cdc2 (Tyr15). Moreover, CPZ suppressed mitochondrial membrane potential and elevated reactive oxygen species levels in cancer cells, implying that it induces mitochondria-dependent intrinsic apoptosis. CPZ blocked the autophagic flux and induced cytotoxic autophagy in CRC cells. In addition, CPZ suppressed tumor growth in two subcutaneous mouse models without causing obvious side effects. Analysis of the abundance of immune cells in the tumor microenvironment revealed that CPZ did not have an effect on their proportions. Furthermore, it significantly suppressed the lung metastasis of CT26 cells and prolonged mice survival.Conclusion: These findings indicated that repurposing CPZ is a novel treatment strategy for CRC patients. Multi-stage incremental sheet metal forming (MS-ISF) is a good solution to overcome the maximum forming angle of single-stage incremental sheet metal forming. In order to test the formability of MS-ISF, a novel method to get forming limit diagram (FLD) of MS-ISF was proposed based on changing forming strategies.
