Featured Application: Interior Design, Architecture Design, Environmental Design. In interior design projects, homeowners' expectations and thoughts in mind are sometimes ambiguous and hard to pinpoint. This lack of clarity can lead to disagreements between owners and designers, making it difficult for designers to receive due remuneration. At the same time, the design project always has a restricted budget. Suppose the funds could be prioritized based on owners' preferred weight of the indoor elements, with a larger portion of the budget allocated to the most crucial elements. In that case, it can significantly enhance the owner's satisfaction. To address these challenges, this research introduces a novel analytical and computational approach that leverages the Positive And Negative Affects Schedule (PANAS) and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) to assess homeowners' sentiments toward various indoor elements. This method aims to determine indoor elements' design-weighting, design sequence, and distribution of project budgets, enabling designers to understand better and meet homeowners' genuine needs and expectations in interior design projects. The efficacy of this approach was evaluated through the analysis of three real-life residential interior design projects. Data from the PANAS emotion scale and heart rate variability (HRV) measurements of the homeowners were collected before and after project completion. The findings revealed high satisfaction among homeowners following project execution. By adjusting indoor elements, owners' negative emotions decreased significantly, positive emotions surged, and there was an improvement in the activity of sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves, leading to enhanced physical and mental well-being. Furthermore, in-depth interviews with homeowners corroborated the effectiveness of the analytical calculation method in identifying latent negative indoor elements of concern to homeowners, thereby validating the practical utility of this approach in real-world design scenarios. The management of blunt abdominopelvic trauma with combined hemoperitoneum and pelvic fractures is challenging for trauma surgeons. Although angioembolization can achieve hemostasis in most visceral organ injuries and pelvic fractures after blunt abdominal trauma, it cannot effectively control hemorrhage in patients with blunt bowel mesenteric injury (BBMI). This study aimed to determine the risk factors associated with hemodynamically unstable patients with BBMI and to test the hypothesis that pelvic fracture is an independent risk factor for patients with unstable BBMI and concomitant pelvic fracture to guide the therapeutic sequence for difficult-to-manage patients. This retrospective study reviewed the data of hospitalized patients with trauma between 2009 and 2021 and included 158 adult patients with surgically proven BBMI. The patients were divided on the basis of the presence of a shock episode before emergency laparotomy. The shock group included 44.3% of all patients in the study (n = 70). Clinical injury severity and prognosis for patients in the shock group were poorer than those for patients in the non-shock group, and more invasive treatments and transfusions were performed for patients in the shock group than for those in the non-shock group. Pelvic fractures were more frequently associated with the shock group than with the non-shock group (21.4% vs. 5.7%; p = 0.003). In multivariate analysis, the presence of intracerebral hemorrhage (odds ratio [OR] = 10.87, 95% confidence intervals [CIs]: 1.70–69.75) and rib fracture (OR = 5.94, 95% CIs = 1.06–33.45) was identified as an independent predictor of shock, whereas the effect of pelvic fracture did not achieve statistical significance (OR = 2.94, 95% CIs = 0.66–13.13) after adjusting for confounding factors. For patients with BBMI, outcomes need to be improved during early diagnosis, and treatments should be expeditiously performed on the basis of the rapid identification of unstable hemodynamic status. This paper proposes a solution to mitigate the trade-off between dark and photocurrents in the indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) thin-film transistor (TFT) applications, such as ultraviolet photodetectors, by using a stacked Pt/NiO dual capping layer (CL). The Pt CL forms a Schottky contact with the IGZO channel, which maximizes the depletion width on the channel layer and allows the use of a thicker channel to suppress both dark current and channel resistance. On the other hand, the NiO CL forms a pn heterojunction with the IGZO channel, which provides additional space for generating electron–hole pairs and is forward biased by the photovoltaic voltage under UV irradiation, resulting in a further negative shift in the threshold voltage and a significant increase in photocurrent. Experimental results show that the proposed CL scheme exhibits excellent photoresponsivity, photosensitivity, and specific detectivity in a 40 nm-thick IGZO TFT, with the values of 1888 A/W, 3.37 × 108 A/A, and 3.99 × 1016 Jones, respectively, which are about 55%, 83%, and 68% higher than a traditional 30 nm-thick IGZO TFT using only NiO CL under 275 nm UV irradiation.
