Abstract

An unsupported nanoporous copper catalyst (CuNPore) with highly bicontinuous nanostructure was prepared by a chemical dealloying method. Various characterization methods were used to investigate the structure and composition of CuNPore, such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X‐ray diffraction (XRD), and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Active species of cuprous oxide were found on the surface of CuNPore catalyst. The nanoporous structure and the presence of Cu(I) enable CuNPore to catalyze the carboxylation reaction of terminal alkynes with CO2 under mild conditions. A wide range of terminal alkynes were tolerated to afford the alkynyl carboxylic acids in good to excellent yields. Abstract

We propose a lamina-shaped metamaterial absorber based on the coherently coupled weak resonances of high-order Helmholtz resonators in this work. Such an ultra-thin lamina metamaterial can achieve broadband tunable absorption (maximal absorption >0.9), which exhibits near-perfect ventilation performance (ventilated area ratio >0.8, ratio of wind velocity >0.95). Benefiting from coherently coupled weak resonances between units with different structure parameters, the lamina metamaterial presents a broadband absorption (506-659 Hz with 2 × 3 units and 480-679 Hz with 2 × 4 units). The ultra-thin and simple structure shape of this sound absorption metamaterial lamina leads to not only an efficient ventilation performance but also high potential value in various scenarios of ventilated sound absorption, especially in ventilation tubes with high noise. © 2024 IOP Publishing Ltd.

Abstract

The impetus for examining ventilated acoustic metamaterials stems from the demand for increasingly efficient and adaptable noise reduction and sound wave manipulation techniques. However, for the present reconfigurable metamaterial absorbers, their absorption band and ventilation rate have not yet attained practical application at low frequencies (<1000 Hz). A theoretical and experimental demonstration of a reconfigurable ultra-sparse ventilated metamaterial absorber for low frequencies with highly sparse ventilation and tunability is presented. The acoustic absorber is based on triadic cylindrical Helmholtz resonators, and a coupled mode theory for three resonators is implemented to elucidate the underlying physics. The absorber achieves a sparsity level of more than 80%, with a measured wind velocity ratio higher than 95%. Furthermore, tunability is accomplished in the frequency range of 600 to 950 Hz through reconfiguration. Due to its simple structure, this metamaterial absorber can be easily fabricated in mass in the future, providing promising solutions for various acoustic engineering applications. Abstract

1,1‐Difluoroethylated aromatic compounds are of increasing importance in agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals. The direct introduction of difluoroethyl (CF2CH3) group(s) onto aromatic rings using CH3CF2Cl, an inexpensive and available raw material, still remains a great challenge because of the relatively inert C−Cl bond of CH3CF2Cl. Herein, we disclose a nickel‐catalyzed 1,1‐difluoroethylation of (hetero)aryl halides with CH3CF2Cl. The reaction exhibits good functional‐group tolerance and is regarded as a practical method for synthesis of (1,1‐difluoroethyl)arenes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

To derive the actual land surface information quantitatively, the atmospheric effects should be correctly removed. Atmospheric effects dependent on aerosol particles, clouds and other atmosphere conditions. Aerosol parameters can be retrieved from the remotely sensed data. The retrieved aerosol characters can also be applied to environmental monitoring. To retrieval the aerosol optical thickness over land, many methods have been developed. The most popular one is the dark dense vegetation method. But it is confined to vegetation fields. The SYNTAM method can be used to retrieval aerosol optical thickness over land from MODIS data, no matter whether the land is dark or bright. In this paper, the SYNTAM method is applied to MODIS data for the retrieval of aerosol optical thickness over China. The retrieval process is complicated. And the EMS memory required is too large for a personal computing to run successfully. To solve this problem, the Grid environment is used. Our experiments were performed on the High-Throughput Spatial Information Processing Prototype System based on Grid platform in Institute of Remote Sensing Applications, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The aerosol optical thickness retrieval process is described in this paper. And the detail data query, data pre-processing, job monitoring and post-processing is discussed. Abstract

In this article we describe a remote sensing application workflow in building a Remote Sensing Information Analysis and Service Grid Node at Institute of Remote Sensing Applications based on the Condor platform. The goal of the Node is to make good use of physically distributed resources in the field of remote sensing science such as data, models and algorithms, and computing resource left unused on Internet. Implementing it we use workflow technology to manage the node, control resources, and make traditional algorithms as a Grid service. We use web service technology to communicate with Spatial Information Grid (SIG) and other Grid systems. We use JSP technology to provide an independent portal. Abstract

The term "the Grid" was coined in the mid 1990s to denote a proposed distributed computing infrastructure for advanced science and engineering. Grid computing technology is a new way for remotely sensed data processing. Special remotely sensed data processing Grid node provides convenient, consistent spatial information processing service for user. In this paper we mainly discusses information registry mechanism and method for remotely sensed data processing module and algorithm in Grid environment and gives the remotely sensed meta-module conception. Then based on the characteristic of remotely sensed data processing module and Grid technology, we describe remotely sensed data processing meta-module information registry method and give a concrete example. Abstract

To use traditional algorithms and software packages on Grid system, traditional algorithms and software packages, in general, have to be modified. In this paper we focus on standards and methodologies for Grid platform within the context of the Remote Sensing Data Processing Grid Node (RSDPGN) that implements a loose-coupling parallel structure for orchestrating traditional remote sensing algorithms and software packages on the Condor platform. We have implemented 17 remote sensing applications in one system using Web service and workflow technology without any change to traditional codes. Some core algorithm codes are come from a remote sensing software package which we has neither resource codes nor APIs. Others come from the program codes accumulated by our group. The design and prototype implementation of RSDPGN are presented. The advantage and shortage of loose-coupling structure is analysed. Through a case study of land surface temperature calcu-lation from MODIS data, we demonstrate the way to modify software packages in details. Sharing spatial data derived from remote sensing is a very significant thing. Grid computing and Web Service technology provides fundamental support for it. In this paper we mainly discuss architecture and middleware of sharing spatial data derived from remote sensing and processing. Because middleware of automatically transferring and task execution on grid is the key of the architecture, we study the middleware. It can effectively protect the owner of data and middleware's property through giving users their required result not just simply copying data and codes resource to them. Abstract

Remote sensing applications often concern very large volumes of spatio-temporal data, the emerging Grid computing technologies bring an effective solution to this problem. The Open Grid Services Architecture (OGSA) treats Grid as the aggregate of Grid service, which is extension of Web Service. It defines standard mechanisms for creating, naming, and discovering transient Grid service instances; provides location transparency and multiple protocol bindings for service instances; and supports integration with underlying native platform facilities. It is not effective used in data-intensive computing such as remote sensing applications because its foundation, Web Service, is not efficient in scientific computing. How to increase the efficiency of the grid services for a scientific computing? This paper proposes a mechanism Grid service spread (GSS), which dynamically replant a Grid service from a Grid node to the others. We have more computers to provide the same function, so less time can be spent completing a problem than original Grid system. This paper also provides the solution how to adept the service duplicate for the destination node's Grid environment; how each service duplicate communicates with each other; how to manage the lifecycle of services spread etc. The efficiency of this solution through a remote sensing application of NDVI computing is demonstrated. Abstract

In order to investigate the flow resistance of the one inlet and double outlet hole used on the blade of the aero-engine, the experiments of the discharge coefficients with various orientation angles of the branch hole were conducted in the low speed wind tunnel. Blowing ratios changes from 0. 2 to 2. 0. The Reynolds numbers based on the mainstream velocity and the diameter of the holes are 6200, 9300 and 12400 respectively. The results shows that the discharge coefficients of the one inlet and double outlet holes which have the orientation angles of 45° and 90° are larger than those of the other shaped holes up to 15%. Not the Reynolds numbers and orientation angles, but the changes of blowing ratios, are the dominant reasons of the change of the discharge coefficients at low blowing ratios. The changes of blowing ratios, Reynolds numbers and the orientation angle of the branch holes have considerable effect on the discharge coefficients at high blowing ratios. The one inlet and double outlet holes with 45° orientation angles is necked to be the optimal one based on the discharge coefficients and cooling effectiveness. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

1,1‐Difluoroethylated aromatic compoundsare of increasing importance in drug design because the 1,1‐difluoroethyl group (CF2CH3) can function as a bioisostere of the methoxy group. Compounds such as those in the accompanying graphic may help combat viruses such as the Coronavirus, which has been affecting Wuhan and the entire world. Herein, we disclose a nickel‐catalyzed 1,1‐difluoroethylation of (hetero)aryl halides with CH3CF2Cl, an inexpensive and available raw material. The reaction exhibits good functional‐group tolerance and is regarded as a practical method for synthesis of (1,1‐difluoroethyl)arenes. Initial mechanism studies show that a 1,1‐difluoroethyl radical is involved in the current reaction. Abstract

1,1-Difluoroethylated aromatics are of great importance in medicinal chemistry and related fields. 1,1-Difluoroethyl chloride (CH 3 CF 2 Cl), a cheap and abundant industrial raw material, is viewed as an ideal 1,1-difluoroethylating reagent, but the direct introduction of the difluoroethyl (CF 2 CH 3 ) group onto aromatic rings using CH 3 CF 2 Cl has not been successfully accomplished.
