Malnutrition in head and neck cancer (HNC) patients is common and associated with poorer radiotherapy outcomes including increased mortality. This pilot trial investigates the feasibility and effectiveness of a psychological intervention to improve nutritional status, depression and mortality in HNC patients undergoing radiotherapy. Fifty-nine intervention patients received motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy compared to 70 historical controls who received treatment as usual. Participants were assessed for nutrition, depression and mortality. There were no significant differences between groups in nutritional status, depression or mortality. Subgroup analyses among patients at greater nutritional risk (cancers of the oral cavity, pharynx, larynx) revealed a potentially clinically important reduction on the PG-SGA and lower mortality (31% of controls vs. 16% intervention; P = 0.03) in favour of the intervention condition. Potential benefits in nutritional status and in mortality in this pilot trial of a psychological intervention among HNC patients at high nutritional risk suggest that a larger randomised controlled trial is warranted. Dose planning for prostate radiation therapy is performed using computed tomography (CT) scans that provide the electron density information needed for individual patients' radiation dose calculations. For visualising the prostate and determining the target volume for radiation treatment, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) gives vastly superior soft-tissue contrast. However, currently, MRI scans cannot be used for dose planning, as they do not provide the electron density information. We aimed to develop an alternative and efficient MRI-only image-based workflow, enabling both organ delineation and dose planning to be performed using MRI, with "pseudo-CT scans" generated from MRI scans supplying the information for dose planning. The feasibility of implementing MRI-based prostate radiation therapy planning is being investigated through collaboration between the clinical and medical physics group at the Calvary Mater Newcastle Hospital/University of Newcastle and the biomedical imaging processing group at the CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) Australian e-Health Research Centre. Results comparing Hounsfield units calculated from CT scans and from MRI-based pseudo-CT scans for 39 patients showed very similar average values for the prostate, bladder, bones and rectum, confirming that pseudo-CT scans can replace CT scans for accurate radiation dose calculations. Aims: To document the acute toxicity experienced by women receiving radiation therapy as part of breast-conservation therapy (BCT) for early breast cancer.Materials and methods: A retrospective review was undertaken of the medical records of 234 consecutive women managed with radiation therapy for BCT over a 2-year period. A policy of formal acute toxicity documentation was present during this period with descriptive measures as well as the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) acute toxicity scoring system. Cutaneous moist desquamation, peak RTOG score, breast oedema and chemotherapy dose intensity were end points assessed. Patient and treatment characteristics were investigated for their association with study end points using Chi-squared and logistic regression analyses.Results: A total of 223 (95%) of women had data available for analysis. All women were treated with tangential fields on megavoltage linear accelerators. Eighty-three (37.2%) women had systemic chemotherapy either delivered simultaneously in 58 and sequentially in 25. Moist desquamation occurred in 70 (31.4%) women; principally in the inframammary fold only in 43 (19.3%). Only 12 (5.4%) had a confluent moist reaction. Two hundred and ten (94%) women had a peak RTOG skin grade of 2 or less. Breast oedema was evident at treatment end in 46 (20.5%). On univariate analysis, physical factors, such as patient weight (P<0.001) and breast size (P<0.001), were significantly associated with moist desquamation, as were the volume of breast resected (P=0.02) and the use of chemotherapy (P=0.03). Only the physical factors remained significant on multivariate analysis. The presence of breast oedema was associated with surgical factors such as post-operative oedema (P<0.001) and infective complications (P<0.001). The use of concurrent chemoradiotherapy did not affect chemotherapy dose intensity, nor did the presence of moist desquamation increase the risk of febrile complications in chemotherapy-related neutropenia.Conclusion: This study confirms the relatively low incidence of significant acute toxicity experienced by women during radiation therapy as part of BCT. Purpose: Malnutrition affects up to 80% of patients with head and neck cancer (HNC) and is associated with higher burden of disease, poorer treatment outcomes, and greater mortality. The Eating As Treatment (EAT) intervention is a behavioral intervention previously demonstrated to be effective in improving nutritional status, depression, and quality of life in patients with HNC. This article examines the effects of the EAT intervention on 5-year mortality among participants., Methods and Materials: A multicenter, stepped-wedge, randomized controlled trial was conducted in 5 Australian hospitals. Dietitians were trained to deliver EAT, a combination of motivational interviewing and cognitive behavior therapy strategies, to patients with HNC receiving radiation therapy. Secondary analyses of survival benefit on an intention-to-treat basis were performed. Differences in proportions of 5-year all-cause mortality between the control and EAT intervention arms were analyzed using multivariable logistic regression, and 5-year survival rates were analyzed using Cox proportional hazards regression. Analyses controlled for temporal effects (study duration), hospital site (clustering), and baseline nutritional status differences., Results: Overall, there were 64 deaths in the 5 years after enrollment, 36 (24%) among those assigned to the control condition and 28 (18%) among those assigned to EAT. Logistic regression showed statistically significant reduced odds in favor of EAT (odds ratio, 0.33; 95% CI, 0.11-0.96), with an absolute risk reduction of 17% (95% CI, 0.01-0.33) and a relative risk reduction of 55% (95% CI, 0.22-0.92), resulting in a number needed to treat of 6 (95% CI, 4-13). Survival analysis revealed that risk of death was significantly reduced by the EAT intervention (hazard ratio, 0.39; 0.16-0.96)., Conclusions: Participation in EAT provided a statistically and clinically meaningful survival benefit, likely via improved nutrition during radiation therapy. This survival benefit strengthens the finding of the main trial, showing that a behavioral intervention focused on nutrition could improve HNC outcomes. Introduction: Research indicates that the immobilisation mask required for radiation therapy (RT) for head and neck cancers can provoke intense anxiety. However, little is known about the rates of this anxiety, whether it changes over a course of treatment and how it is managed in clinical practice. This study aimed to describe the rates and patterns of situational anxiety in patients undergoing RT for head and neck cancer and the use of anxiety management interventions in current clinical practice in a major regional cancer setting in New South Wales, Australia., Methods: Situational anxiety rates and patterns were assessed at five time points using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory prior to treatment planning (SIM), the first three treatment sessions (Tx 1, Tx 2 and Tx 3) and treatment 20 (Tx 20). Sessions were observed to record the use of general supportive interventions (music and support person) and anxiety-specific interventions (break from the mask, relaxation techniques and anxiolytic medication). Sociodemographic and clinical information was extracted from the medical record., Results: One hundred and one patients were recruited. One-third had clinically significant anxiety at any of the first three time points (33.3-40%), and a quarter at Tx 3 (26.4%) and Tx 20 (23.4%). Of the sample, 55.4% had available data for categorisation into one of four pattern groups: 'No Anxiety' (46.4%); 'Decreasing Anxiety' (35.7%); 'Increasing Anxiety' (7.1%); and 'Stable High Anxiety' (10.7%). Most participants had social support present at SIM (53.5%) and listened to music during treatment (86.7-92.9%). Few participants received relaxation techniques alone (1.2-2.3%). Anxiolytic medication was provided for 10% of patients at some stage during the treatment journey and 5% required a break from the mask at SIM, with frequency decreasing throughout the treatment course., Conclusions: In this regional cancer setting, situational anxiety was common, but generally decreased throughout treatment. Introduction: There is no consensus as to what specifically constitutes head and neck cancer radiotherapy quality assurance (HNC RT QA). The aims of this study are to (1) describe the RT QA processes used in the TROG 12.01 study, (2) review the RT QA processes undertaken for all patients with loco-regional failure (LRF), and (3) provide prospective data to propose a consensus statement regarding the minimal components and optimal timing of HNC RT QA., Materials and Methods: All patients undergoing RT QA in the original TROG 12.01 study were included in this substudy. All participating sites completed IMRT credentialling and a clinical benchmark case. Real-time (pre-treatment) RT QA was performed for the first patient of each treating radiation oncologist, and for one in five of subsequent patients. Protocol violations were deemed major if they related to contour and/or dose of gross tumour volume (GTV), high dose planning target volume (PTVhd), or critical organs of risk (spinal cord, mandible, and brachial plexus)., Results: Thirty HNROs from 15 institutions accrued 182 patients. There were 28 clinical benchmark cases, 27 pre-treatment RT QA cases, and 38 post-treatment cases. Comprehensive RT QA was performed in 65/182 (36%) treated patients. Major protocol violations were found in 5/28 benchmark cases, 5/27 pre-treatment cases, and 6/38 post-treatment cases. An independent review of all nine LRF cases showed major protocol violations in four of nine cases., Conclusion: Only pre-treatment RT QA can improve patient outcomes. The minimal components of RT QA in HNC are GTVs, PTVhd, and critical organs at risk. Evidence on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on psychotic disorders is so far scarce. We conducted an incidence study to ascertain rates of first-episode psychosis (FEP) before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in South London. We screened clinical records of individuals living in the London boroughs of Southwark and Lambeth who were referred to the early intervention services before (from 1/3/2019 to 28/2/2020) and during (from 1/3/2020 to 28/2/2021) the COVID-19 pandemic. We used the Office for National Statistics to determine the population at risk. We computed crude and sex-age standardised FEP incidence per 100,000 person-years. We used Poisson regression to calculate the incidence rate ratio (IRR) across the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 321 incident cases of FEP were identified during the COVID-19 pandemic, accounting for a crude rate of 69.8 (95% CI 62.1-77.4) per 100,000 person-years. The crude rate for the year before was 47.5 (95% CI 41.2-53.8). The incidence variation between the two years accounted for an adjusted IRR of 1.45 (95% CI 1.22-1.72). The pandemic was accompanied by a 45% spike in the rates of first-episode psychosis. Purpose: This secondary analysis of clinical trial TROG 12.01, involving patients with human papillomavirus-associated oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma, aimed to identify patient-reported outcome (PRO) trajectories before, during, and after chemoradiotherapy., Methods and Materials: Head and neck cancer symptom severity (HNSS) and interference (HNSI), generic health-related quality of life (HRQL), and emotional distress were assessed with the MD Anderson Symptom Inventory-Head and Neck, Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-General, and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale questionnaires, respectively. Latent class growth mixture modeling (LCGMM) was used to identify distinct underlying trajectories. Baseline and treatment variables were compared between trajectory groups., Results: The LCGMM identified latent trajectories for all PROs: HNSS, HNSI, HRQL, anxiety, and depression. Four HNSS trajectories (HNSS1-4) were identified, distinguished by differences in HNSS at baseline, during the peak of treatment symptoms, and during early and intermediate recovery. All trajectories were stable beyond 12 months. The reference trajectory (HNSS4, n = 74) score was 0.1 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.1-0.2) at baseline, peaking at 4.6 (95% CI, 4.2-5.0), with rapid early recovery (1.1; 95% CI, 0.8-2.2) and gradual improvement to 12 months (0.6; 95% CI, 0.5-0.8). Patients in HNSS2 (high baseline, n = 30) reported higher baseline scores (1.4; 95% CI, 0.8-2.0) but were otherwise similar to HNSS4. Patients in HNSS3 (low acute, n = 53) reported reduced acute symptoms (2.5; 95% CI, 2.2-2.9) with stable scores beyond 9 weeks after chemoradiotherapy (1.1; 95% CI, 0.9-1.4). Patients in HNSS1 (slow recovery, n = 25) had slower recovery from an acute peak of 4.9 (95% CI, 4.3-5.6) to 0.9 (95% CI, 0.6-1.3) at 12 months. Age, performance status, education, receipt of cetuximab, and baseline anxiety varied between trajectories. The other PRO models demonstrated clinically relevant trajectories, with distinct associations with baseline factors., Conclusions: LCGMM identified distinct PRO trajectories during and after chemoradiotherapy. The aim of the study was to examine the following: (a) the trajectory of external and internal head and neck lymphoedema (HNL) in patients with head and neck cancer (HNC) up to 12 months post-chemoradiotherapy (CRT) and (b) the relationship between HNL and swallowing function. Using a prospective longitudinal cohort study, external/internal HNL and swallowing were examined in 33 participants at 3, 6 and 12 months post-CRT. External HNL was assessed using the Assessment of Lymphoedema of the Head and Neck and the MD Anderson Cancer Centre Lymphoedema Rating Scale. Internal HNL was rated using Patterson's Radiotherapy Oedema Rating Scale. Swallowing was assessed via clinical, instrumental and patient-reported measures. Associations between HNL and swallowing were examined using multivariable regression models. External HNL was prevalent at 3 months (71%), improved by 6 months (58%) and largely resolved by 12 months (10%). In contrast, moderate/severe internal HNL was prevalent at 3 months (96%), 6 months (84%) and at 12 months (65%). More severe penetration/aspiration and increased diet modification were associated with higher severities of external HNL (p=0.006 and p=0.031, respectively) and internal HNL (p<0.001 and p=0.007, respectively), and more diffuse internal HNL (p=0.043 and p=0.001, respectively). Worse patient-reported swallowing outcomes were associated with a higher severity of external HNL (p=0.001) and more diffuse internal HNL (p=0.002). External HNL largely resolves by 12 months post-CRT, but internal HNL persists. Purpose: The aim of this TROG 12.01 substudy was to report longitudinal variations in patient- (PRO) and clinician-reported outcomes based on receipt of unilateral (URT) or bilateral radiation therapy (BRT)., Methods and Materials: Patients with lateralized T1-2 N1-2b human papillomavirus-associated tonsillar carcinoma (AJCC7) enrolled on TROG 12.01 were eligible. The primary endpoint was patient-reported radiation symptom severity score (MDASI-RSS) at 2 years, a composite of 9 MDASI-Head and Neck (HN) symptom items. Secondary endpoints included patient-reported symptom burden and interference (MDASI-HN), quality of life (FACT-HN), emotional distress (HADS), return to work (RTW), clinician-reported performance status scale (PSS-HN), and late adverse events (CTCAE). Mean MDASI-RSS, symptom severity (MDASI-SS), symptom interference (MDASI-SI) and selected single items were compared 1 week, 3 months, and 2 years post-RT., Results: Seventy-four patients were eligible for analysis (26 URT, 48 BRT). Median follow-up was 3.7 years (1.8-5.2 years). Sociodemographic, staging, and treatment variables were mostly balanced, with larger primaries observed in the BRT group. Four regional failures were reported (3 URT, 1 BRT), including one isolated contralateral regional failure in the URT cohort. Mean MDASI-RSS scores did not differ at 2 years (URT vs BRT, 1.1 vs 1.3; difference 0.1 [95% CI: -0.7 to 0.9], P = .75) or at any other time points for the MDASI-RSS, MDASI-SS, and MDASI-SI scores, except for worse MDASI-SI 1 week after treatment in the BRT group (4.7 vs 5.6). Fatigue (6.6 vs 5.4) at 1 week and dry mouth (3.5 vs 2.0) at 2 years were also worse in the BRT group. FACT-HN, HADS, RTW, PSS-HN, and CTCAE results were similar across the follow-up period., Conclusions: In this favorable-risk cohort, treatment laterality resulted in fewer differences than anticipated in patient-reported or clinician-reported outcomes. Two years after treatment patients treated with BRT reported significantly worse dry mouth. Introduction: Patients undergoing treatment for cancer who require radiation therapy (RT) report anxiety specifically relating to the RT procedure. Procedural anxiety can be detrimental to treatment delivery, causing disruptions to treatment sessions, or treatment avoidance. Acute procedural anxiety is most commonly managed with anxiolytic medication. There is a need for effective, non-pharmacological interventions for patients not suitable for, or who prefer to avoid, anxiolytic medication. The primary objectives of this pilot trial are to evaluate the: (1) feasibility of conducting the Biofeedback Enabled CALM (BeCALM) intervention during RT treatment sessions; (2) acceptability of the BeCALM intervention among patients; and (3) acceptability of the BeCALM intervention among radiation therapists. The secondary objective of this pilot trial is to examine the potential effectiveness of the BeCALM intervention delivered by radiation therapists to reduce procedural anxiety during RT., Methods and Analysis: This is a pilot randomised controlled trial. A researcher will recruit adult patients with cancer (3-month recruitment period) scheduled to undergo RT and meeting eligibility criteria for procedural anxiety at the Calvary Mater Hospital, Newcastle (NSW), Australia. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive treatment as usual or the BeCALM intervention (biofeedback plus brief breathing techniques). The primary outcomes are feasibility (measured by recruitment, retention rates and percentage of treatment sessions in which the intervention was successfully delivered); radiation therapists perceived feasibility and acceptability (survey responses); and patient perceived acceptability (survey responses). Background: Information on smoking and other health factors in head and neck cancer (HNC) patients throughout treatment, follow-up and survivorship is limited. This study explores patterns of multiple health factors during radiotherapy (RT) and naturalistic long-term follow-up in a convenience sample of patients with HNC., Methods: Smoking, alcohol use and depression were measured at baseline, 4 and 12 weeks post RT for a sub-group of 99 patients who participated in a randomised controlled trial and completed long-term follow-up. These factors plus healthy eating, physical activity and fatigue are also reported from the long-term follow-up component. Smoking was measured by self-report and biochemically, whilst all other variables were by self-report. Where variables were assessed at multiple time points logistic mixed effects regression models determined within-person changes over time., Results: There were important discrepancies between self-reported (4-7%) and biochemically verified (13-29%) rates of smoking. Rates of smoking and hazardous alcohol intake were significantly increased at follow-up compared to baseline. Depression rates were observed to be higher at end of RT compared to baseline. At long-term follow-up, fatigue was common and co-occurred with suboptimal healthy eating and hazardous alcohol use., Conclusion: Clinically important levels of smoking and alcohol consumption post RT in this sample suggest possible targets for intervention beyond treatment into long-term follow-up of patients., (Copyright © 2022 The Authors. Introduction: Assessing the use of a radiation therapy (RT) planning MRI performed in the treatment position (pMRI) on target volume delineation and effect on organ at risk dose for oropharyngeal cancer patients planned with diagnostic MRI (dMRI) and CT scan., Methods: Diagnostic MRI scans were acquired for 26 patients in a neutral patient position using a 3T scanner (dMRI). Subsequent pMRI scans were acquired on the same scanner with a flat couch top and the patient in their immobilisation mask. Each series was rigidly registered to the patients planning CT scan and volumes were first completed with the CT/dMRI. The pMRI was then made available for volume modification. For the group with revised volumes, two IMRT plans were developed to demonstrate the impact of the modification. Image and registration quality was also evaluated., Results: The pMRI registration led to the modification of target volumes for 19 of 26 participants. The pMRI target volumes were larger in absolute volume resulting in reduced capacity for organ sparing. Predominantly, modifications occurred for the primary gross tumour volume (GTVp) with a mean Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) of 0.7 and the resulting high risk planning target volume, a mean DSC of 0.89. Both MRIs scored similarly for image quality, with the pMRI demonstrating improved registration quality and efficiency., Conclusions: A pMRI provides improvement in registration efficiency, quality and a higher degree of oncologist confidence in target delineation. Purpose: The excellent prognosis of patients with low-risk human papillomavirus (HPV)- associated oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma has led to concerns about overtreatment and excessive toxicity with radiation therapy and cisplatin, leading to interest in de-intensification trials. We investigated whether cetuximab, an epidermal growth factor receptor targeting antibody, when combined with radiation therapy would result in a decrease in symptom burden and toxicity with similar efficacy compared with weekly cisplatin., Methods and Materials: TROG12.01, a randomized, multicenter trial involving 15 sites in Australia and New Zealand enrolled patients with HPV-associated oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma, American Joint Committee on Cancer 7th edition stage III (excluding T1-2N1) or stage IV (excluding T4 and/or N3 and/or N2b-c if smoking history >10 pack years and/or distant metastases). Patients were randomized (1:1) to receive radiation therapy (70 Gy in 35 fractions) with either weekly cisplatin, 7 doses of 40 mg/m 2 , or cetuximab, loading dose of 400 mg/m 2 followed by 7 weekly doses of 250 mg/m 2 . The primary outcome was symptom severity assessed by the MD Anderson Symptom Inventory Head and Neck Symptom Severity Scale from baseline to 13 weeks postcompletion of radiation therapy using the area under the curve. Trial was registered on ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT01855451., Results: Between June 17, 2013, and June 7, 2018, 189 patients were enrolled, with 92 in cisplatin arm and 90 in cetuximab included in the main analysis. There was no difference in the primary endpoint of symptom severity; difference in area under the curve cetuximab-cisplatin was 0.05 (95% confidence interval [CI], -0.19, 0.30), P = .66. The T-score (mean number of ≥grade 3 acute adverse events) was 4.35 (standard deviation 2.48) in the cisplatin arm and 3.82 (standard deviation 1.8) in the cetuximab arm, P = .108. The 3-year failure-free survival rates were 93% (95% CI, 86%-97%) in the cisplatin arm and 80% (95% CI, 70%-87%) in the cetuximab arm (hazard ratio = 3.0 [95% CI, 1.2-7.7]); P = .015., Conclusions: For patients with low-risk HPV-associated oropharyngeal cancer, radiation therapy and cetuximab had inferior failure-free survival without improvement in symptom burden or toxicity compared with radiation therapy and weekly cisplatin. Major depressive disorder (MDD) is common in general medical settings, and can usually be treated with conventional oral antidepressants. For some patients, however, oral treatment is refused or not possible, and the untreated symptoms can have a significant impact on the treatment of the acute medical problem. Use of intravenous ketamine has been widely reported in mental health settings for the treatment of MDD. Background: Behavioural medicine is characterised by findings for the effectiveness and efficacy of complex behaviour change interventions. Comparatively, scant attention has been paid to key intervention components or mechanisms of action. Evaluating relationships between process variables (fidelity) and intervention effects is central to addressing this imbalance. Accordingly, in the current study, we sought to explore the magnitude and direction of effect between fidelity predictors (dietitian adherence and competence) and intervention effects (patient nutritional status) during the intervention phase of a real-world, stepped-wedge evaluation of 'EAT: Eating As Treatment'., Methods: The EAT clinical trial was conducted within five major Australian hospitals located in Queensland, Western Australia, Victoria and South Australia between 2013 and 2016. EAT is a dietitian-delivered health behaviour change intervention designed to reduce malnutrition in head and neck cancer (HNC) patients undergoing radiotherapy. Dietitian adherence and competence ratings were derived from a 20% random sample of audio-recorded dietetic consultations (n=194) conducted after dietitians (n=18) were trained in EAT. Sessions were coded by trained, independent, coders using a study checklist, the Behaviour Change Counselling Index (BECCI) and items from the Cognitive Therapy Scale-Revised (CTS-R). Patient nutritional status was measured using the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PGSGA)., Results: Dietitian adherence to a written nutrition plan (β=7.62, 95% CI=0.65 to 14.58, p=0.032), dietitian adherence to behaviour change counselling (β=0.69, 95% CI =0.02 to 1.38, p=0.045) and competence in delivering behaviour change counselling (β=3.50, 95% CI =0.47 to 6.53, p=0.024) were significant predictors of patient nutritional status. Dietitian adherence and competence ratings were higher during consultations with intervention patients at greater risk of malnutrition., Conclusions: This study contributes new insights into the relationship between fidelity and treatment outcome by demonstrating that dietitian adherence and competence is greater when working with more challenging patients. This is likely central to the demonstrated success of the EAT intervention in reducing malnutrition and highlights the importance of ensuring that providers are adequately equipped to flexibly integrate intervention elements according to patient need., Trial Registration: This study is a process analysis of a stepped-wedge randomised controlled trial prospectively registered on the Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry ( ACTRN12613000320752 ; Date of registration 21/03/2013).

Background: To examine the relationship between chronic external and internal head and neck lymphedema (HNL) and swallowing function in patients following head and neck cancer (HNC) treatment., Methods: Seventy-nine participants, 1-3 years post treatment were assessed for external HNL using the MD Anderson Cancer Centre Lymphedema Rating Scale, and internal HNL using Patterson's Radiotherapy Edema Rating Scale. Swallowing was assessed via instrumental, clinical and patient-reported outcome measures., Results: HNL presented as internal only (68%), combined external/internal (29%), and external only (1%). Laryngeal penetration/aspiration was confirmed in 20%. Stepwise multivariable regression models, that accounted for primary site, revealed that a higher severity of external HNL and internal HNL was associated with more severe penetration/aspiration (P < .004 and P = .006, respectively), diet modification (P < .001 both), and poorer patient-reported outcomes (P = .037 and P = .014, respectively)., Conclusion: Increased swallowing issues can be expected in patients presenting with more severe external HNL and/or internal HNL following HNC treatment., (© 2020 Wiley Periodicals LLC.)
