Ar+Ni collisions at 77 MeV/u were studied in the experiment 286 performed at GANIL. An important advantage of this experiment was an application of the neutron detector DEMON for registration of both neutral and charged particles. This feature allows to compare characteristics of neutrons and protons detected by the same detector and gives a possibility to determine the influence of the Coulomb field on the proton emission. Estimation of a charge of the emitting source was performed by comparing energy spectra of neutrons and protons detected under identical experimental conditions. The experimental results were compared with the prediction of the SIMON model.

Two-neutron correlation functions as well as single neutron energy spectra were used to determine the parameters of the emitting sources in Ar-Ni reaction at 77 MeV/u. The neutrons were registered in angular ranges 4degrees-22degrees and 55degrees-66degrees. By a choice of the neutron energy range and measurement angles we are able to determine the space-time parameters of the preequilibrium and the quasi-projectile separately. The source velocities and temperatures were determined by fitting the multisource model parameters to the single-neutron inclusive energy spectra. The space-time parameters were extracted from the fit of correlation functions with a Gaussian (space) and exponential (time) distributions.

- Abstract
The collisions of p,H,He and C with carbon and tantalum nuclei at 4.2 GeV/ c per nucleon as well as the collisions p-C and p-Ta at 10 GeV/ c from 2-m propane bubble chamber have been studied. New results on nuclear stopping have been obtained from the examination of proton rapidity distributions and average rapidity of leading protons for collisions of various degree of centrality: our study points out that a proton projectile is fully stopped in the central p-Ta collisions at 4.2 GeV/ c but only partly stopped at 10 Gev/ c. The proton multiplicity in the central p-Ta collisions at 10 GeV/ c can be described by the binomial distribution, P( n), which expresses the probability that the projectile meets n protons among the nucleons being along the diameter of a target nucleus. - Abstract
Calpains are intracellular calcium-dependent cystein proteases active at neutral pH. There have been found in human adult myogenic cells (i.e. satellite cells) 2 forms of calpains requiring either micromolar Ca2+: mu-calpain, or millimolar Ca2+: m-calpain. Calpains could be involved in both intracellular proteolysis and cytoskeleton reorganization required for myogenic cell fusion. We showed significant differences in calpains distribution during differentiation of myogenic cells. Using mono- and polyclonal antibodies against both types of calpains, we localized mu-calpain and m-calpain in cultured human satellite cells. mu-calpain was detected in the nuclei of myoblasts and in the cytoplasm of myotubes. m-calpain was only present in the cytoplasm, and was concentrated near the nuclear envelope. Biochemical assays for calpain activities showed that the amounts of these proteinases were modulated during cell growth and differentiation. m-calpain activity was high at the proliferation phase (day 4 of culture) and reached a maximum with the beginning of fusion (day 8) and decreased slightly when the number of myotubes increased (day 12). This activity profile suggests that m-calpain could play a role in the initiation of fusion of satellite cells. The activity of mu-calpain increased regularly with cell growth, the maximum being reached when the cells differentiate, i.e. when its intracellular localization shifted from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. We conclude that the activity and the intracellular localization of the 2 forms of calpains differ with the state of differentiation of myogenic cells.
