Background: Age-appropriate vaccination is a crucial public health measure to prevent morbidity and mortality worldwide. Despite its importance, there has been insufficient emphasis on tackling this problem. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the prevalence of age-appropriate vaccination and associated factors in Ethiopia. Method: Data from 1077 children aged 12-35months were extracted from the Ethiopian Mini Demographic and Health Survey 2019 using a prepared data extraction checklist and included in the analysis. The extracted data was analyzed using STATA version 14.0. Descriptive and inferential statistics were applied, followed by multilevel logistic regression. Significant variables were identified at p-value < 0.05 within 95% confidence level and AOR. Result: The pooled prevalence of age-appropriate vaccination in this study was 21.17% (95%CI: 18.73–23.61). Factors like mothers age > = 40 years (AOR = 4.05, 95%CI: 1.03, 15.83), 35–39 years (AOR = 4.62, 95%CI: 1.27,16.71), 25–29 years (AOR = 4.07, 95%CI: 1.18,14.03), Maternal secondary education (AOR = 1.85, 95% CI: 1.06, 3.22), Maternal primary education (AOR = 1.60, 95% CI: 1.07, 2.41) and rural residence (AOR = 0.34, 95%CI: 0.23,0.51) were significant predictors of age-appropriate vaccinations. Conclusion: This study concluded that the prevalence of age-appropriate vaccination of children in Ethiopia is below the desired level. Hence, the stakeholders should prioritize timely vaccination of children, similar to as the efforts made to increase overall coverage. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BACKGROUND: Sexual satisfaction is directly related to marital sustainability and quality of life. This study assessed the magnitude of sexual satisfaction and associated factors among married women. METHODS: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted from May 18 to June 8/2021 using mixed data collection methods. The sample was calculated using single population proportion formula for the quantitative part while data saturation was applied for the qualitative part. Simple random and purposive sampling techniques were used to get participants for the quantitative and the qualitative parts respectively. The quantitative data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 25, and the qualitative data were analyzed manually. Ordinal logistic regression was applied to explore the model. P-value <0.05 and AOR with a 95%CI were used to identify the statistical significance of the association. RESULT: About 398 married women participated in the study, making a response rate of 94.3% and 44.7% of them were moderately satisfied with their sexual life. Sexual satisfaction among the married women was significantly associated negatively with attending elementary education 99.9% [AOR=0.1, 95%CI:0.0,0.4)], positively with having social responsibility 19[AOR=19.3, 95%CI: 1.8, 28.3], and negatively with having poor sexual attitude 97%[AOR=0.1, 95%CI: 0.0, 0.3]. The qualitative finding showed that the majority of women engage in sexual intercourse for the satisfaction of their partners, without their needs. CONCLUSION: Sexual satisfaction among married women was low in the study area. Comprehensive sexual and reproductive health awareness and strengthening of the prevention of harmful traditional practices are recommended. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Despite epidemiologic studies demonstrating the increased incidence of paternal postpartum depression, their emotional health is overlooked throughout their partner's pregnancy and postpartum period as postpartum depression has been traditionally construed as a disease of women. Traditional masculinity norms also result in a lack of recognition and barriers to the treatment of depression in men. This study is aimed to determine the prevalence and factors of paternal postpartum depression among fathers whose wives gave birth. A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted from July 7 to 17, 2023. The 288 sample size was estimated using a single population proportion formula and selected by random sampling technique. The data were exported from Kobo Toolbox and analyzed using SPSS version 26. Candidate variables were identified in bivariate at p < .25 for the multivariate analysis. A p < .05 and adjusted odds ratio (AOR) were used to determine the significance. A total of 280 partners participated making a 97.22% response rate. Paternal postpartum depression was 19.6%(95% confidence interval [CI] = [15.4%, 24.3%]). It was significantly associated with history of depression (AOR = 4.4, 95% CI = [1.7, 10.9]), unplanned pregnancy (AOR = 4.7, 95% CI = [1.9, 11.3]), alcohol consumption (AOR: 3.0, 95% CI = [1.3, 7.4]), infant sleeping problem (AOR: 3.0, 95% CI = [1.1, 8.9]), and mode of delivery (AOR: 3.0, 95% CI = [1.3, 7.6]). This study concluded that paternal postpartum depression was high. The current recommendation obligates children to receive all vaccines within two years of birth. The Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) was established in Ethiopia to increase the immunization rate by 10% annually and to reach 100% in 10 years but not been achieved in twenty years. Missed opportunity for vaccination (MOV) is one of the major factors in vaccination coverage. Hence, this study aimed to assess the prevalence of MOV and associated factors in Jimma Town public health facilities. A facility-based cross-sectional study design was employed with a quantitative data collection method. The sample size was calculated using a single population proportion formula. The data were collected through face-to-face interviews, and data extraction methods and analyzed using SPSS version 26. The statistical association was decided at p-value <0.05 with 95% CI, and AOR. A total of 422 children were involved in this study making a 100% response rate. The magnitude of MOV was 39.8% (95%CI: 35-45). Parents/caretakers have not attended formal education (AOR = 4.65, CI:1.64-13.24), residing in rural (AOR = 2.60, CI: 1.35-5.03), poor knowledge about immunization (AOR = 2.61, CI: 1.58-4.30), the child not assessed for vaccination status (AOR = 3.01, CI: 1.65-5.49), and parents/caretakers not seen/heard vaccination message in the last month (AOR = 2.42, CI: 1.40-4.18) were statistically positively associated with the MOV. In conclusion, this study indicated that MOV among the children was high in the study facilities. The researchers recommended stakeholders work on strengthening community awareness creation.
