The aim of the present study is to investigate in more detail whether and which behavioral markers underlie the experience of momentary loneliness in everyday life. For this purpose, we use the methodology of mobile sensing to document individually different behaviors over the course of the day and to subsequently describe to what extent recorded objective behavioral markers (i.e. app usage, calls, activities etc.) can be related to the self-reported subjective experience of loneliness.

The study investigates how the medium of remote psychotherapy (real-time video conference, hereafter "video") vs. real-time audio conference, hereafter "telephone") affects the relationship between the client and therapist and the effectiveness of the intervention. We designed a manual for the therapists that serves as a guideline for their intervention. The goal of the intervention is to support members of the general population to achieve self-set but challenging goals and increase their resources (positive activities and general well-being). The manual comprises three sessions with approximately 50 minutes each and about one week between each session. We will conduct three sessions in one-on-one sessions, either via video or telephone.
