We compute the spectrum of the category of derived Mackey functors (in the sense of Kaledin) for all finite groups. We find that this space captures precisely the top and bottom layers (i.e. the height infinity and height zero parts) of the spectrum of the equivariant stable homotopy category. Due to this truncation of the chromatic information, we are able to obtain a complete description of the spectrum for all finite groups, despite our incomplete knowledge of the topology of the spectrum of the equivariant stable homotopy category. From a different point of view, we show that the spectrum of derived Mackey functors can be understood as the space obtained from the spectrum of the Burnside ring by “ungluing” closed points. In order to compute the spectrum, we provide a new description of Kaledin’s category, as the derived category of an equivariant ring spectrum, which may be of independent interest. In fact, we clarify the relationship between several different categories, establishing symmetric monoidal equivalences and comparisons between the constructions of Kaledin, the spectral Mackey functors of Barwick, the ordinary derived category of Mackey functors, and categories of modules over certain equivariant ring spectra. We also illustrate an interesting feature of the ordinary derived category of Mackey functors that distinguishes it from other equivariant categories relating to the behavior of its geometric fixed points.

Thirteen therapists (8 women, 5 men; M age=29.1 yr., SD=6.3; M counseling experience 2.7 yr., SD = 6.3, range = 1 semester to 8 yr.) received training in the cognitive-experiential model of dream work through a didactic-experiential workshop, individual feedback, and practice. All participants but one were enrolled in masters' or doctoral level counseling training programs. An examination of effect sizes indicated that (a) therapists' self-efficacy about using the dream model increased substantially and positive attitudes toward dreams increased slightly after the didactic-experiential workshop; (b) the process and outcome of the second dream session were better for therapists who received individual feedback after the first session than for therapists who did not receive feedback after the first session; and (c) for the subgroup of six therapists who conducted five sessions, therapists' attitudes toward using the dream model improved, and their self-efficacy for working with dreams and perceived self-competence in dream work increased.

Differential synthetic aperture radar interferometry (DInSAR) is a remote sensing technique that allows monitoring ground deformation with accuracy of the order of fractions of the radiated wavelength, by means of proper combination and processing of repeat-pass data. In contrast to the satellite case, application of such a technique to airborne data is not, today, a well-established task. Several airborne campaigns, involving mainly C/L-band data, have been planned in the last years to exploit the potentialities of these more flexible platforms for deformation monitoring. In this paper, we show the results of an airborne DInSAR X-band experiment carried out over the Perugia area (center of Italy) by using the OrbiSAR system. We discuss the processing chain applied to the acquired data, which allows achieving a satisfactory compromise between accuracy and efficiency. Eleven repeated passes were carried out in two days; two corner reflectors were located on the ground in a hilly region. One corner reflector was vertically moved between the two days to evaluate the system detection capability. Moreover, we carry out an analysis of all possible differential interferograms for a region 2 x 4 km wide. Large-scale sources for negative hydrogen ions, capable of delivering an extracted ion current of several ten amperes, are a key component of the neutral beam injection system of the upcoming ITER fusion device. Since the created heat load of the inevitably co-extracted electrons after magnetic separation from the extracted beam limits their tolerable amount, special care must be taken for the reduction of co-extracted electrons--in particular, in deuterium operation, where the larger amount of co-extracted electrons often limits the source performance. By biasing the plasma grid (PG, first grid of the extraction system) positively with respect to the source body, the plasma sheath in front of the PG can be changed from an electron repelling towards an electron attracting sheath. In this way, the flux of charged particles onto the PG can be varied, thus changing the bias current and inverse to it the amount of co-extracted electrons. The PG bias affects also the flux of surface-produced H- towards the plasma volume as well as the plasma symmetry in front of the plasma grid, strongly influenced by an ... x ... drift. The influence of varying PG sheath potential profile on the plasma drift, the negative hydrogen ion density, and the source performance at the prototype H- source is presented, comparing hydrogen and deuterium operation. The transition in the PG sheath profile takes place in both isotopes, with a minimum of co-extracted electrons formed in case of the electron attracting PG sheath. The co-extracted electron density in deuterium operation is higher than in hydrogen operation, which is accompanied by an increased plasma density in deuterium. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Analysis of the yeast nuclear pore protein, Nup84p, revealed five proteins forming a complex. Four of the five proteins were identified: Nup120p, Nup85p, Sec13p, and a homolog of the Sec13p (designated Sec13p-ProtA). Biochemical analysis and null disruption studies of the four proteins indicated the importance of the presence of the Sec13p and Sec13p-ProtA proteins within the Nup84p complex in nuclear membrane and nuclear pore formation.

Nup145p, Nup116p and Nup100p belong to a new class of nucleoporins that are involved in macromolecular transport. Nup145p, a yeast protein containing GLFG repeat sequences, is required for poly (A)+ RNA transport from the nucleus. Repression of Nup145p gene pronin results in nuclear accumulation of polyadenylated RNAs and cytoplasmic localization of a nuclear transporter protein.
