A martial artist needs a kick to make an attack on an opponent. In martial arts, the point of kicking is greater than the punch. There are various kinds of kicks such as front, back, side and swivel. Indeed, not all sports require kicks, one of the sports that require kicks is pencak silat, karate, taekwondo, muay-thai, and drajat fighting. The Indonesian government launched the National Sports Grand Design (DBON) training aids that can help in the training process of martial arts athletes included in this program. This study aims to determine the kick power of a martial artist to be more measurable when drilling training. This research uses a research approach and the development of tool prototypes. There are three important aspects that will be considered in this study, namely function, comfort and design. This research will examine the development of kick-measuring instruments in terms of prototype design. Furthermore, research related to reverse engineering will be developed to improve the quality of prototypes.

Deformation in a structure is something that is very likely to occur when the object is subjected to a loading that leads to a pressure on the object. The approach taken to determine the deformation of the cylindrical tank was carried out using the finite element method using Ansys 2020 R2 software with axial loads due to the roof and circumferential loads on the cylinder from wind forces. The cylindrical tank that was the object observed in the practical work field was found to be deformed due to the very high loading from the roof and also the result of re-welding due to the repair of defective welds after being examined by ultrasonic testing. This was investigated using the finite element method to determine if the loading experienced by the cylinder was the main cause of the deformation and it was found that the maximum deformation was so small that it was difficult to say that the main cause of the deformation was the loading. It is known that re-welding a metal will change the mechanical properties of the material to become softer, which is the main reason why the deformation of the tank occurred in the practical field. The study purpose was to analyze the effectiveness of the different effects of knee tuck jump and hurdle jump plyometric training using beach sand on power and leg muscle strength in young adult males. Materials and methods. A total of 30 young adult males were enrolled in this study and were given plyometric knee tuck jump training (KTJT), and plyometric hurdle jump training (HJPT). Plyometric training is carried out with an intensity of 80-100% of 1RM, three sets with 12 repetitions each set, with a frequency of three times each week for six weeks. The measurement of leg muscle power uses the Jump Meter Digital (MD) Test, while the measurement of leg muscle strength uses the Back & Leg Dynamometer. Statistical analysis used one-way ANOVA and continued with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) post hoc test. Results. The results of the analysis are as follows: the mean Δ increase in muscle power on CTRL (12.92±2.51 joule) vs. KTJT (142.88±35.21 joule) vs. HJPT (269.49±138.06 joule), (p=0.000). The mean Δ increase in muscle strength on CTRL (11.61±1.49 kg) vs. KTJT (75.49±18.53 kg) vs. HJPT (137.43±34.13 kg), (p=0.000). Conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that both types of plyometric training improve power and strength in young adult males. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The design of high-speed rail, which prioritizes energy economy, comfort, safety, and speed, revitalizes conventional train transit. The high-speed era of railroad transportation has begun. A crucial part that helps to slow down or stop the train is the brake. The friction that develops when the brake lining and disk come into contact is the fundamental mechanism of the brake. The purpose of this study is to use the finite element method to calculate the total deformation and equivalent stress that occur in the friction block of a fast train. There are two key instruments in this study that are used to conduct the research. The primary tool for conducting this research is the program, which comes in first. The computer hardware, which powers the software, comes in second. A heptagonal-shaped friction block was positioned at different angles: 0°, 15°, 30°, and 45°. The leading edge near the friction block has wear, according to the simulation data. For the 0o angle, the total deformation is 0.00046 mm, for the 15o angle, 0.00035 mm, for the 30o angle, 0.00040 mm and for the 45o angle, 0.00036 mm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Load and deformation in the calcaneal/heel region are often studied because of their potential for pain. Research conducted before proved that the calcaneal region receives large loads, both standing and walking, mainly due to excessive body weight. While heel pad deformation is not always associated with body weight, but its influenced by the mechanical properties of plantar soft tissues. In the older person the deformation of the calcaneal region while standing is lower than the adult person, which indicates the loss of the elasticity of the heel pad in aged adults. The aim of this study is estimating deformation of calcaneal area while standing from the Boolean Operation between 3D and footprint image of foot which is a novelty. Thirteen patients who feel pain due to calcanea spur were asked to volunteer research (3 males and 10 females, age 56 ±10 years old, and BMI 25.53±3.74 kg/m2). The 3D image is obtained from 3D scanner for foot orthotics, while the 2D footprint image is obtained from the digital footprint scanner. To determine the accuracy of this method compared with the deformation result of lateral x-rays due to its own weight.

Numerous studies reported that infrared thermography and vibration are condition monitoring technology that is important and effective for doing a condition diagnostic of bearing centrifugal pump health without destructing or disturbing machine operational. This paper focuses on thermography image processing based on K-Mean color segmentation which will produce normal and abnormal condition features. Health diagnostic of bearing by processing of digital image, image clustering, segmentation and extraction. Extraction of image pattern is done by calculating the area of heat point and color feature bearing condition of RGB colour space and active contour segmentation in order to process and differentiate between normal and abnormal bearing image by statistical technique. The parameters that can be used as reference to classifying conditions are standard deviation, Mean, Variance, Skewness, Kurtosis, Vibration (RMS) and Shape features (area). Final step is determining the boundary condition between normal and abnormal using statistical logic method.

Due to a large oscillation amplitude, galloping can be an admissible scenario to actuate the piezoelectric-based energy harvester. In the case of harvesting energy from galloping vibrations, a prismatic bluff body is attached on the free end of a piezoelectric cantilever beam and the oscillation occurs in a plane normal to the incoming flow. The electrical power then can be extracted from the piezoelectric sheet bonded in the cantilever structure due to the dynamic strain. This study is proposed to develop a theoretical model of a galloping-based piezoelectric energy harvester. A FEM procedure is utilized to determine dynamic characteristics of the structure. Whereas the aerodynamic lift and drag coefficients of the tip bluff body are determined using CDF. The results show that the present method gives precise results of the power generated by harvester. It was found that D-section yields the greatest galloping behavior and hence the maximum power.

This paper presents a proposal for machine health prognosis based on multi regime condition monitoring (CM) signals. The basis idea is performing deeply analysis of CM signals that possibly includes steady state signals – that is normal condition, and developing transient signal that represents some faults exist in the machine. Trigonometric features is extracted from such signals and some energy vectors was used to calculate the health index of machine. Prognosis is then performed on the machine which has the lowest health index, that means the worst condition of the machine. RUL prediction is addressed to estimate the remaining life of the machine up to breakdown. The proposed method gives relatively promising results of RUL prediction that possibility give some times for maintenance actions before catastrophic failure occurs.

The rotating machinery requires condition monitoring which its measurement without being intrusive operation, especially on the equipment needed to continue running. One such machinery is a centrifugal blower induction motor. Infrared thermography and vibration are important and effective technologies to diagnose of health condition it without destructive or disturb of operations. The diagnostics of induction motor are based on the analysis results data onto vibration and processing thermal image. This paper focused on thermography image processing based on color segmentation which it will produce ROI (region of interest) images. The ROI image is extracted based on HSV color and shape feature. Feature extraction is intended to determine value of mean, standard deviation, kurtosis, skewness and entropy HSV and shape features (area, perimeter, metric, and eccentricity). The highest RMS (root mean square) vibration data is used as reference to classify data into normal and abnormal. Parameters that can be used to classify normal and abnormal conditions based on data analysis are standard deviation Hue, kurtosis HS, skewness HSV, entropy HSV and metric.
