SOCIALIZATION OF COVID-19 AND PRACTICE OF MAKING DISINFECTANT LIQUIDS FOR FLOOR MOP MATERIALS IN ISLAMIC MODERN BOARDING SCHOOL OF DARUSALAM, KEPAHIANG REGENCY, BENGKULU PROVINCE. Floor cleaner liquid is a disinfectant used to prevent the transmission of environmental pathogenic microorganisms, especially on the floors. The high price of floor cleaner in the market and difficult to find in the condition of the current Covid-19 outbreak, make this community service activity need to be done and it aims to overcome this problem by holding out socialization about Covid-19 and the practice of making disenfectant fluids as floor cleaning materials at the Islamic Modern Boarding School of Darussalam, Kepahiang Regency. It is expected, by this activity can create a small business to manufacture floor mop from disinfectant with good management in this school. Community Service Activities (PPM) were well received by the students and the teaching staff of the Islamic Modern Boarding School of Darussalam. Before giving service materials to community service participants, the participants or students did not really know what was the cause and prevention of Covid-19 in the surrounding environment and how to make disinfectants. The giving of the pre-test stage questionnaire after the end of the socialization was considered as feedback for participants resulting in an increase in understanding of Covid-19, increasing awareness of the importance of maintaining clean floors and understanding of how to make disinfectant fluids as floor mops made from sodium hypochlorite.

AQUAPONIC APPLICATION OF ORGANIC VEGETABLES-CATFISH IN BUCKETS (ASOILELEDAMBER) IN BENGKULU CITY. Bengkulu City is the capital of Bengkulu Province with the highest population in Bengkulu Province so it requires the availability of high food consumption as well. Required foodstuffs such as vegetables, meat, and fish, not all are available from Bengkulu City, so it is not uncommon the price on the market becomes more expensive. To fulfill the needs of foodstuffs, some people of Bengkulu City make effort to cultivate vegetables and maintain fish in ponds, but this method is also difficult to do because of the limited land area. Based on the description, it is necessary to apply the Appropriate Technology (TTG) for the people of Bengkulu City to fulfill family food security, one of which is the application of aquaponic technology: Asoileledamber (Organic Vegetable-Catfish Aquaponics in Buckets). This community service activity aims to provide information and training to the group of service partners in Bengkulu City about the benefits of Asoileledamber. Community service activities include Asoileledamber counseling activities, the provision of guidebooks, provision of tools and materials for cultivation such as fish seedlings, vegetable seeds and pellet feed. The results perceived by the service partners were harvesting Catfish from the second month of maintenance to the fourth month of maintenance. Organic vegetables are harvested starting from 2 weeks after planting time (SMT) until the 4th month of maintenance with an average harvest of 1-2 bunches per bucket.

Lempuyang Wangi (Zingiber zerumbeth var. aromaticum Val.) is a plant that has been widely used as an ingredient in herbal medicines. Generally, people boil the rhizome to get the benefits of this plant. This method is considered less effective because it requires large amounts of biomass. Another more effective method by utilizing the endophytic bacteria of lempuyang wangi (Z. zerumbeth Var. aromaticum Val.). Generally, endophytic bacteria will produce the same bioactive compounds as those produced by the host plant. This study aimed to obtain endophytic bacterial isolates and determine the diversity of endophytic bacteria of lempuyang Wangi (Z. zerumbeth var. aromaticum Val.) from Enggano Island, Bengkulu Province. Isolation of endophytic bacteria was carried out by planting and grinding methods. The bacterial isolates that grew were then purified and identified by morphological observation, Gram staining, and biochemical tests. A total of 44 isolates of endophytic bacteria were isolated from the rhizomes, stems, and leaves of the lempuyang wangi (Z. zerumbeth var. aromaticum. Val.). Based on morphological observations, Gram staining and biochemical tests showed 44 isolates that had been isolated were close to the genera Bacillus, Micrococcus, Amphibacillus, Pseudomonas and Azotobacter. It can be concluded that lempuyang wangi (Z. zerumbeth var. aromaticum Val.) has a variety of endophytic bacteria. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Background Hypertension is one of the commonest cardiovascular risk factors, whose prevalence in Indonesia is 25.8%. Uncontrolled hypertension leads to altered geometric pattern of left ventricle, which is associated with a greater cardiovascular risk. Methods This study was conducted in conjunction with the annual social work clinic arranged by Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, Udayana University on 21 November 2015. This cross-sectional study was performed in all patients who attended the social work clinic at Kubu Village and was diagnosed with hypertension. The subjects underwent electrocardiography examination and echocardiography examination to asses LV geometry, systolic function, and diastolic function. Results There were 28 subjects with hypertension enrolled in this study with median age 62 (range 40-83) year old with slight female predominance (53.6%). Among them, 60.7% have history of hypertension, but only 2 patients who had been receiving treatment. From electrocardiography examination, we found high LV voltage and LV strain pattern in 10 (35.7%) patients. Echocardiography results show that the prevalence of left ventricular geometric alteration was 57.1%, diastolic dysfunction grade I was 78.6%, and 1 patient was found to have systolic dysfunction. Bivariate analysis revealed that known history of hypertension [PR 8.67 (CI 95% 1.53-49.22, p < 0.05)] and duration of hypertension ≥ 5 years [PR 2.71 (CI 95% 1.57-4.89, p < 0.05)] were related with left ventricular geometric alteration among hypertensive patient in Kubu Village. Conclusion The prevalence of left ventricular geometric alteration and diastolic dysfunction is high among hypertensive patients at Kubu Village. Our study also found that majority of patient with known history of long-standing hypertension also have evidence of left ventricular geometry alteration. This result warrants the need for improved achievement of blood pressure goals alongside with aggressive screening for end organ damage in hypertensive patients, especially at rural area.- Published
